Where there is a class,  there is need for management.
Give clear expectations and clear directions ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Preventive Strategies! Positive Results! Student Advice (2) Setting Expectations
[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Motivating  Strategies! Positive Results! Engaging Students to Learn   1.  Change teaching strategies  2.  Use peer groups and partner activities  3.  Use competition.  4.  Give points/ rewards/extra points/candies Student Advice (3)
Being Firm and Assertive   1.  Discipline students who misbehave ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Assertive Strategies! Positive Results! 2.  Change seating once a marking period 3.  Don’t back down, but explain why Student Advice (4)
2.  Don’t have favorites or focus on  just a few students ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Preventive Strategies! Positive Results! Attending to Students’ Needs    1.  Allow students to voice their    opinions and ideas Student Advice (5)
Balancing the Yin and Yang  1.  Keep the class busy,  but  not overloaded with work 2.  Be loud and clear,  but  don’t yell 3.  Prevent chatting,  but  allow some time for fun 4.  Be firm with rules,  but  be flexible 5.  Relax, and joke around every now and then,  but       take control after a certain point 6.
