  1. Introduce yourself. Brief history of VIF – 20+ years as a partner to schools in providing international education and learning experiences through exposure and experience with international teachers. In the last few years, with the growing awareness for the need for internationalized learning, VIF has expanded the program beyond exchange teachers to offer global awareness programs and the Splash! Language Immersion program.
  2. Beyond rote memorization: Language immersion for proficiency and global competence. We need to prepare students for the 21 st century.
  3. Acquisition of a second language, global awareness and cultural understanding… 21 st century skills necessary to not only compete in our global marketplace, but to communicate and collaborate effectively in our jobs, our communities as the world becomes increasingly more connected.
  4. Our Splash! Language Immersion program has been implemented in 10 NC schools K-3. This model is focused on providing students and strong academic foundation bolstered with measured success. [WATCH VIDEO – this is linked to YouTube, but you may need to bring the CD]
  5. Experienced team of educators from VIF to support the Splash! program at schools. Superintendent, Principal of leading language immersion program, Language teacher and international recruitment, Deputy superintendent. Educate and involve parents in the process Work with school and key staff members to align goals and objectives (literacy coach) Mentor principals in the field of language immersion
  6. Unique aspect of the program – implemented by international educators for integrated cultural learning dimension.
