2. WORKSHOP OUTLINE
Basics of VR (1hr)
What is Virtual Reality?, Brief History, early technology models. Virtual Reality now. use cases, possibilities.
Augmented Reality Primer. Virtual Reality Vs Augmented Reality.
Design principles and demos. (3 hrs)
Showcase various VR apps, and discuss the design principles followed. Will be covering methodology, basic
concepts like head tracking, look around, wrap around. Design Pitfalls. Things to keep in mind while developing
for virtual reality.
Building a VR experience for android (3hrs)
Introducing Google Cardboard SDK. Basic 3D world concepts. Scale. Distortion. Hands on session to build a
basic look around app.
Advanced Android (3hrs)
Unity3D in deep. Importing models, lighting, camera and path controls. Build a basic walkaround app.
WebGL and WebVR (3hrs)
What is webVR. How is this different from a native app. WebGL basics. Introducing Three.js. Basic concepts of
scenes, mesh and renderers.
hands on workshop to build a basic 3D world.
Advanced WebGL (3hrs)
Stereo Rendering, Advanced Three.Js Concepts, Importing models, lighting, camera and path controls. Build a
rollercoaster app.
Unreal Engine Basics (3hrs)
Introducing unreal engine. Getting started with the basics. Why Unreal Engine?. Oculus Rift, and its
capabilities. Demo on screen.
Hack Session and Demo
Participants are to form teams, and choose either of the three technology streams introduced and should try to
solve any of the problems from the problem statements provided or one of their own.

3. Swag
Includes Tshirts, Advanced VR viewers, stickers and laptop decals to be given out to active participants.
Requirements
All participants must have a laptop, and an Android Smartphone. Projector with HDMI input, necessary cables
and screen.
Soul Count
50 minimum, 70 Max.
Cost
INR 1200 per head​. Includes one VR viewer per participant, and access to basic tools and code.
