2. We live in Las Norias de Daza (El Ejido), in
Almería. It is a city located in the south east of
Spain. It is a Mediterranean city with beautiful
beaches, natural landscapes and excellent
weather, throughout all the year.
We are going to develop different projects in
each one of the subjects with a common
objective: to know our surroundings.

3. 1.BIOLOGY PROJECT
Our biology project
is about “La Balsa
del Sapo”, is a lake
situated in the
middle of Las
Norias.
In this lake there are
species of
autochthonous animals;
like “ pato colorado”,
zampullín,..
(small birds)

4. Our main economic activity is the agriculture. Most
of the people here work in green-houses, so that
we are the biggest exporters of vegetables in
Europe.
2.MATHS PROJECT
For this reason the
mathematics project is
about knowing the
operation and structure of
a greenhouse

5. 3.SOCIAL SCIENCES PROJECT:
“My green footprint”
In this project we work on
the importance of recycling
in our environment.
Futhermore, each student
build a toy with recycled
materials

6. 4.SPANISH LANGUAGE PROJECT
Through this project we will work on the oral
tradition and also to know the social and cultural
aspects of the different nationalities that coexist in
our village. Therefore in Las Norias coexist more
than twenty nationalities different.

7. 5.PHYSCIAL EDUCATION
PROJECT
In our society there are a multitude of traditional
games that have been played for centuries. We will
know their rules and practice them in class. Some
of them are hopscotch, marbles, combo, plates,
petanque, ..

8. 6.ENGLISH AND FRENCH
PROJECT
In these subjects what we will learn is the
vocabulary of our immediate environment.
Posters are posted all over the institute with
the names of the different locations in several
languages

9. 7.COMPUTING PROJECT
With this project we will learn about
our surrounding and the Erasmus
plus project, because we will learn
how to use the etwinning platform

ABOUT OUR SURRONDINGS
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
There are some important activities in El Ejido in which
everyone participate, for example:
25 th of April: San Marcos´s party. The people usually walk
over typical vehicles called “carrozas” where they eat, drink
and dance wearing traditional clothes.
First days of July is The local
party in Las Norias de Daza. All
people go out for spending a
good time with family and
friends.

11. Others importants activities in Andalucia are:
-During Easter week it is celebrated the
typical “procesiones”
-24th of June: the San Juan´s bonfires.
-On February: the carnival.

12. SOME PLACES IMPORTANT IN ALMERIA
The “Alcazaba”:it is the
most important
monument in the city
Natural park of “Cabo
de Gata”.It has
awesome beaches and
landscapes.

13. THE SYMBOL OF ALMERIA
It is Indalo. Indalo is a rock figure that was found in a place
of Almeria.This figure represents a man with outstretched
arms and an arch above the head
In conclusion you should visit Las Norias because you spend
a marvellous time.
