This document is a screenplay describing a surgery from the patient's perspective. It begins with the patient on the operating table surrounded by doctors as his surgery begins. The patient's view is of the bright overhead light as shadows move around. Sounds of medical equipment and the doctors working can be heard. The patient's heart rate is monitored. As the surgery intensifies more equipment is used before the heart rate monitor suddenly stops. The screen then cuts to the patient awake in a hospital bed screaming, having remembered everything from the surgery.
2. FADE IN:
INT. HOSPITAL. DAY
WIDE SHOT
A male laying on an operating table, in a darkened
operating room. Three doctors, wearing blue uniforms and
white face masks stand around the body with various
instruments in their hands.
PAN TO ABOVE OF BODY WHERE THE LIGHT WOULD BE
The body on the table, is then promptly covered with an
iodine solution before blue sheets cover the part of the
body that are not to be operated on. Sound of the heart
monitor beeping throughout.
Switch of perspective to the POV of the patient (Jeremy).
A bright light is placed overhead so that surgeons can
see what they’re doing. This light is all that Jeremy can
see, in his dizzy state of mind.
A few shadows shuffle around the room, creating movement
in the background beyond the point of the light.
DOCTOR AVERY
(Monotone and sudden)
Scalpel please Nurse
A sound of metal on metal can be heard for a brief moment
before a shape moves in the background, seemingly the
nurse handing Dr.Avery the scalpel. The sound of the
heart rate monitor beeping in the background can still be
heard over the slight noises of instruments being moved
and muttering of the doctors and nurses in the room.
CUT TO CLIP OF
SOMEONE SPREADING
JAM ON A SANDWICH
Clip would be close up, knife coming toward the camera as
it spreads the jam on the bread.
Heart rate monitor is still beeping though it misses
beats a couple times, making it sound odd.

3. DOCTORS AVERY
IV check
NURSE DAVIES
3 ml since last check
The rate of the shuffling and the moving of the shapes
increases and the sound of new instruments such as
cauterising machines and drills are heard, the visual of
the light above is still present and this lasts for a
while before a blackout with the heart rate monitor still
beeping in the background.
It suddenly stops.
The screen is black for a few moments before it very
suddenly cuts to Jeremy who is laying in a hospital bed,
some time after surgery, screaming in fear as he had
remembered everything that had happened in the surgery.
