Narrative:

Often times we designate June as the month of “beginning again.” July as “adjustments period.” And why not? Let’s face it,
mistakes we made aplenty during the past year or months, so it feels good to know we have the chance for a new beginning
and a chance to adjust, to strive harder having learned a good lesson from the mistakes we made in the past. My beloved
co-league in the Lord, your presence and cooperation give me this thought, “We must have a new beginnings because we
daily face destruction and failure. New opportunities to serve each other and the community give us a second chance to set
the record straight, to try it again, to work harder and get it right.”

Work harder and get it right – that we plan to do for ICMPI.

As we travel across the cities and municipality we are greeted with commendations and hospitability from our recipients
and pastors, some says, “Your ministry looks very attractive now and there are more benefits for a wholesome living.”

Other comments go like this, “I Care is far more different now,” and added, “What are the other programs you are offering
for us today? I want to avail.” On the other hand, we also heard things that you may say can discourage us, like “they are
not intelligent, not competent, not worthy to that position,” but instead of discouragements, I took these as challenges to
strive hard, to run the race with perseverance by God’s grace knowing that my prize is heaven.

I would like to consider that these thoughts are not from people outside ICM, not even our leaders who in one way or
another trusted us that we can do things in support to the ministry’s vision and objectives. These comments I supposed
came from some of our dear staff who supervises no one. However, like Apostle Paul says, “For this thing I besought the
Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of
Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s
sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong.”

I wish to assure our teams and everyone that the implementation we are doing locally is not from our own ideas; it’s the
standard operating procedure. Meaning it is a centralized implementation. Any suggestions or comments are always
brought to the attention of our Area Head. Other than discussing these comments, we also evaluate the contents and the
course of action that go with it.

For this year, we pledge to work harder to make this ministry – your ministry – a wholesome organization for all people.
More transformation events will be seen that focus on the exploits of the community and our working staff who dare to do
right despite of overwhelming odds. Significant and interesting stories of changes in the lives of people we are working
with maybe we strive to reach at the most, because this is our duty, our responsibilities to our God. To God be all the glory!

Narrative:
God can do anything you know far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does
it not by pushing us around but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us. Through this two months time
the recipients are slowly set aside their old ways and face another day of hope.

VALUES
The pastors are faithfully teaches and monitors the recipients spiritual
aspect. This month there are one hundred thirty eight who receive Jesus
Christ as their personal Savior and God.

                                              Tel. No. : (035) 419-6074, 419-7134
As the team had monitored the area, Czarina visited the recipient and it
caught her attention. She has 7 children, whose ages are not that far apart. They live in a small nipa hut which has neither a
bathroom nor a kitchen. There are 10 of them living in the hut; her husband, her 7 kids, her mother and her. When we
visited her, they were eating lunch. Their food was “all rice” porridge with no meat or vegetables. Some of the children,
Czarina noticed as they were eating, had shaky hands, probably from much hunger. All the children that were there,
including the recipient and her mother were covered with dirt. Most of the children too seemed to have colds. Her husband
only drives a “pot-pot” which they do not own. She has no work

The team met one of the recipient’s houses. The recipient has a special child. She said that the child was born premature
and was advised to have the baby brought to the hospitalized. Because it was her first
time to become a mother, so she did not know well so instead of bringing the baby to
the hospital right away, she bathed the baby. She said that the doctor told her that the
baby had meningitis, and had little chance to live. Through God’s grace, the baby
survived despite his condition being premature and very sick. Though now, she is not
really sure of her salvation yet, but she is starting to learn more about living in faith.

                                     HEALTH
We had an opportunity to connect with the LOCAL GOVERMENT UNIT in the field
of Health. Due to the increase of the dengue cases here in Dumaguete City , the health
workers in Buñao instigate this case. They taught about how to prevent dengue and
encourage the recipient to use mosquito net. The government is providing chemicals to
be use in soaking the mosquito net in order to repel mosquitoes.
In this area, we also experience the decrease of the number of the recipients due to
                                     some reasons and priorities.

The Pastor is not giving up but instead he do his very best to find more recipients.
In Cantiso, Valencia we witness and experienced the celebration of nutrition month last July 22, 2010 in connection with
the lecture that they had last time when they tackle about MALNUTRITION. The recipients are having enjoyment as they
put together their food in the table. They serve pinakbet, lumpia and other veggies also an all natural fruit mix or as we call
it, “halo-halo”. They complete all the three basic food groups in the table. The team did not need to bring lunch because
they prepared a lot of food. They are abundant in fruits. People there are really blessed, because they have plenty of
resources around them.

responsive to the lessons that the livelihood lecturer taught to them. They are very grateful to our God and to ICMPI, it
helps them to elevate their income in terms of consuming their not only that but it leads them to total transformation. Under
the area of Pastor Ivan Tucaling their senior Pastor Daylinda Dequito, lent her property to be used in the demo farm. The
demo farm is about 800 sq.mtrs. near the church. While waiting for the other team to fetch them, Ariel Palma sphere

Address: Poblacion, San Jose
Narrative/Update:

Eugenio Salapiny 47 years old executed what he learned. During the team monitoring, the seeds that they gave to him are
now sprouting. He constructed vermi bin in their home and was excited to receive vermi worms. He already prepared food
for the vermi worms and made a compost pit. Also, Eugenio set up 15 plots for veggie production.

Not only that Pastor Baruman provides ballpen to the recipients for them to write down and bring home to study their hand
outs. Most of them memorize bible verse in their values lecture.

Narrative/Update:

We had an opportunity to connect with the LOCAL GOVERMENT UNIT in the field of Health. Due to the increase of the
dengue cases here in Dumaguete City, the health workers in Buñao instigate this case. They taught about how to prevent
dengue and encourage the recipient to use mosquito net. The government is providing chemicals to be use in soaking the
mosquito net in order to repel mosquitoes.

In this area, we also experience the decrease of number because some recipients have already worked.
The Pastor is not giving up but instead he do his very best to find more recipients. The area does not hinder them to plant;
the livelihood leader and livelihood lecturer challenge the pastor to collect used empty bottles for them to have a demo
farm.

Concerns:
Request of the previous area pastors with their recipients birth certificates and CENOMAR be materialized.
One concern the OAC nurse has encountered on the field, is communing all OAC recipients and visitors in
advance for triage. Not only do they live very far apart but they do have graders to attend to for lunch and home
chores to do before they are finally free to attend. The earliest they can come for some - would be a little before
12 noons. Only during the OAC scheduled at 1 pm can the nurse begin screening the patients.

On one occasion during the last OAC schedule, the recipients were instructed to come very early with instructions
to bring packed lunch. A big group has indeed gathered upon our arrival, however only a few had taken their
lunch and brought pack lunch. A considerable number of them did not. The OAC team wanted to send them back
home for them to take their lunch first (considering that OAC may end as late as 5 pm) assuring them priority
numbers. However due to the distance, they all opted to stay behind leaving the host the necessity to serve them
lunch. (Patients during this occasion were mostly old and very young).

Narrative:
For the month of July I am well adjusted by my work description. The recipients are now motivated and stimulated in the
topic we taught in Transform Program.

Ptr. Remelino Torres, as I was finalizing the lists of recipients many of them are hungry by God’s spiritual word. One of
the recipients in the area of Ptr. Torres states instead of doing nothing she rather listen to the word of God and gain the
benefits’ of teaching in VHL.

July 12, 2010 we had our visitor from national and international or shall we call them ICM 101. Miss Mardione and Josh
are my company during their return demonstration. The recipients were very cooperative as the lecture has been given to
them. House to house monitoring brings fun to us amidst of the weather conditions we have. The recipients welcome us and
we were able to witness the lifestyle and we also witness how they plant the seeds we have given them.
In the area run by Ptr. Gildo Tenorio, Corrie Sutherland, Ptr. Dave and the team had an adventure as we walk at the bridge
going to the house of our recipients. The main point is that as we are teaching malnutrition we do it by heart with fun to get
along with the recipients. As the program goes along they are more eager to cooperate. Corrie had some food to give to
them as a prize to who get the correct answer. They were all responsive and I’m happy for it.
Under the care of Pastor Feliciano Baruman, although some of the recipients withdrawn for some precedence there are
recipients also who remain very faithful. They don’t want to miss the entire lesson they have. I am very blessed to hear their
testimony as one said” we need to sacrifice in order to achieve what we want in life.”
We witness the progress in Pastor Solamillo’s area, one of the recipients there is Sanny Calidquid take good care of the
demo farm he gave his time. He really put action on what he learned. We are glad to know about it because we witness the
vegetable garden on our own eyes.

For all the area I had Pastor Bonard Pino’s area decrease in number of the recipients. Some counsellors withdraw because
they have work to do so. The Pastor is not giving up but instead he do his very best to find more recipients.

Narrative:
The team’s helping hands make us work more easily. As the saying goes “heavy loads become lighter when helping hands
joined together”. Eight weeks had already passed, and another challenges God is giving us. I’m very joyful for what has
transpired in this month and many recipients had done their part. Under the area of Pastor Baruman in San Jose, Eugenio
Salapayne 47 years old is very interested in the lessons we taught, and not only that but he also executed what he learned.

During our monitoring, the seeds that I gave to him are now sprouting. He constructed vermi bin in their home and was
excited to receive vermi worms. He already prepared food for the vermi worms and made a compost pit. Also, Eugenio set
up 15 plots for pechay. If we put together our work in prayer, we will truly see its results.

Personal Accomplishments:
Taught livelihood to the recipients in 5 areas.
Monitored 85 families in 5 areas.

Two months have passed since we started the implementation of our program. Attendance rise and fall when we imposed
the rule of three consecutive absences is already dropped. Pastors really got a hard time completing the lists of twenty-five
recipients. Only two of our recipient pastors (Ptr. Jaime Cadiz and Ptra. Jingle Buhat) completed the lists. Yet, until now
we keep on receiving new recipients as instructed by our leader.

July is the schedule of our areas for Open Air Clinic. Two hundred thirty-one recipients including their families were
catered. Twenty-five were given referrals for laboratories, x-rays and etc. but only one patient complied.

ICM 101 team arrived last Jul 12 and 13 as scheduled and four of them (two by two) went with us for two consecutive
days. Ptr. Primo Sistual and Mr. Kirk Miller accompanied us to Ptr. Ivan Tucaling’s church. Mr. Kirk taught the Primary
Health Education and I as the translator. Praise God for he made things easy for me. Ptr. Primo on the other hand, did the
Livelihood lectures. They were able to visit seven families.

Miss Caroline from General Santos City and Mr. Tierry Garcia went with us to Ptra. Jingle Buhat’s area. Mr. Tierry, a
Filipino-American taught the PHE lessons in Filipino and we did the lecture as a tandem. Mr. Tierry asked questions from
the recipients and gave rewards of twenty pesos each for every correct answer. We visited two houses; one house with three
families living in it. A house that almost half of its roofs were destroyed which made them wet during rainy days. Mr.
Tierry interviewed the three wives and learned that these families were just renting the house or a hut we could consider.
He prayed and ministered to these families and gave some chocolates to their kids. Miss Caroline on the other hand, did the
Livelihood lecture with Bong.

Ptr. Ariston was absent for two weeks since his wife was hospitalized and Bong took over his place as Values lecturer. Ptr.
Cadiz completed the list of twenty-five recipients with only four counselors. As we monitored the nineteen recipients, we
found out that seven of them were just lived in. The good thing I discovered when we did visitation was that Ptr. Cadiz and
his wife had established a good relationship to these people. Most of them attended weekly Bible studies at Ptr. Cadiz’
residence and more than half of them attended church.

Recipients had grown their seeds and started to plant at their respective homes. Three areas had their own Demo Farms and
recipients were excited to start gardening since most of them are planters. My partner and I monitored sixty-four families
for this month.

Personal Accomplishments:
         Monitored 71 families.
Taught the health lessons assigned to me.
Monitored the status of the patient after the Open Air Clinic.

Narrative:
The month of July is an exciting month for us, where we see result in the demo farm of the area we are in. From this month
the very best area was under the supervision of Pastor Ivan Tucaling. The recipients are grateful for the things we had done;
we planted already 5 varieties of seeds. For the string beans, the expected harvest will be on September first week. In
Pastor Mar Elarcosa’s area we planted pechay, but so sad we recorded mortality rates of pechay due to heavy rain. There
are some sprouting pechay, the expected date of this will be on August last week.
The result of Feed Fermentation in Ptra. Jingle Buhat is very good; we tried to feed the chicken. The recipients stress out
that they can “save money” to buy feeds in their livestock. During our monitoring we have seen how they applied the
lessons we taught about them. The recipients are very bless in joining this program, as we bring hope for them. I believe
God is the finisher of all this things and even He will be the one to cultivate the lives of this people.

Narrative:
Mondays:
During Mondays, we go to a church in Salngan, Zamboanguita which is under the Ptr. Danilo Solana. There we have a
complete number of recipients and counselors. So far, we have monitored 15 houses, one of which has really caught my
attention. She has 7 children, whose ages are not that far apart. They live in a small nipa hut which has neither a bathroom
nor a kitchen. There are 10 of them living in the hut; her husband, her 7 kids, her mother and her. When we visited her,
they were eating lunch. Their food was “all rice” porridge with no meat or vegetables. Some of the children, we noticed as
they were eating, had shaky hands, probably from much hunger. All the children that were there, including the recipient and
her mother were covered with dirt. Most of the children too seemed to have colds. Her husband only drives a “pot-pot”
which they do not own. She has no work. We have really observed how pitiful their life is and makes us want to be able to
help more but could not because we also have limited resources. It also made me realize how blessed I am because though
we may not be rich but still, God provides us with more than enough.

Tuesdays:
On Tuesdays, we go to Pansil, Sibulan. They have not pastor there at this time but they are advocated by one of ICM staff’s
wife, Ma’am Leonora Laid. I am very thankful because of all the times I was there; they also had a perfect attendance. The
recipients, most of them are very attentive during lectures. We had a slight problem during our OAC week at their area
because the visitors got the earlier number and some of them got 3 or more. There were some recipients who were not
catered already. Good thing, the medical team allowed to extend a little for one of the recipients who just gave birth a few
days before. Also, one of their counselors has a case of tuberculosis who was recently hospitalized. She is now resting in
their home.

Wednesdays
In Basak, Bais headed by Ptr. Charlito Cardoza, I am very blessed by the willingness of the people to learn. Even though
they may not have a proper place to sit or though their houses are very far, they are very diligent in attending the lecture.
Going to the meeting place in Basak is very challenging. Since the double cab could no longer go farther in that area, we
have to walk. To be able to reach the area we walk passing a little river and going to the next hill. I thank God always for
the strength He provides me for all the hiking and everything.

Thursdays
On Thursdays, our area is in Cantiso, Valencia whose pastor is Ptr. Edgar
Andanar. The place where we conduct our lectures is also where they have their preschool. They applied for a preschool
plus program in ICM but they were not able to reach the required number of students, but still, they continued the school

through the help of other donors. On one of our meetings, last July 22, 2010, they celebrated their nutrition month. We did
not need to bring lunch because they prepared a lot of food. They had lumpia, pinakbet, other veggies and also an all
natural fruit mix or as we call it, “halo-halo”. They are every abundant in fruits. I remember when I first went there; I was
able to bring home a big plastic full of bananas. Then on my second visit, I was able to bring home jackfruits. People there
are really blessed because they have plenty of resources around them.

Fridays
We go to Magsaysay, Dauin on Fridays. Their pastor is Ptr. Jovy Batuigas. We meet at one of the recipient’s house. The
recipient has a special child. She said that the child was born premature and was advised to have the baby brought to the
hospitalized. Because it was her first time to become a mother, so she did not know well so instead of bringing the baby to
the hospital right away, she bathed the baby. She said that the doctor told her that the baby had meningitis, and had little
chance to live. Through God’s grace, the baby survived despite his condition being premature and very sick. Though now,
she is not really sure of her salvation yet, but she is starting to learn more about living in faith.

Personal Accomplishments:
Taught Primary Health Education to 5 areas.
         Monitored recipients in their houses.
Followed them up if they have learned, understood, and are following about the health topics.

Narrative:
For the month of July, the transform team 3 continued to teach livelihood lessons. We are now in lesson 5-8. We did
demonstration on how to make SODIS (SOLAR WATER DISINFECTION), livestock feeds and taught how to do seed
banking. We gave seeds every week to the recipients in 5 areas. We gave vermi worms to only one area because some
areas had their vermi. Some of the recipients and counsellors were initiated to breed vermi. As we monitored to the areas,
we found out that some had already demofarm but some still searching of a place for demofarm. The seeds that we gave to
them are already sprouting but some did not.

I praised God for the recipients who are willingly attended Sunday services and Bible study. I praised God for the pastors
and counsellors for their cooperation in doing God’s ministry.

Narrative:

As what we all know and have read our mission that ICMPI is designed to help the poor and needy and to take them out
from physical and spiritual bondage in communities, the Uplift Team in our zeal to please God and advance His kingdom
working and partnering together with the pastors from different communities to reach our goal and to see transformation in
people’s lives which we are working with.

For almost two months of travelling every day, conducting lectures, doing house to house visitations for monitoring the
effectiveness of the lectures and how it implemented. Changes in recipient’s lives are dramatically changing although it’s
not rapid but their efforts are obviously seen. Through the effort of the ICM recipient pastors teaching values, recipient’s
spiritual improvements are also noticeable. People are receptive to the lessons taught, and seemingly interested because
some are now coming early to the place where we meet to do the lectures.

Health lectures plays a big role in all the programs. Recipients
became more conscious with regards to their health status.
Simple management on how to prepare food for their family,
importance of hand washing which obviously some of them
were not aware of it before, and also this simple way can help

People felt their importance to the community as these types of lectures offered for free and with love to them. The pastor
in the community also became the hero, and it would be easier to reach these people as ICM unique approaches were also
improved. As part of the expansion of Gods ministry it is our joy to see the positive results and response of the recipients
that God entrusted to us, though sometimes our flesh and heart failed but we believed that God is still the strength of our
heart

for me. As feelings of excitement and worries mix together in reaching out our goal and looking forward to see the positive

pursuing change in their old ways that hinder them to have abundant living.

Interesting stories:

Marilyn Olores a recipient from Ptr. Narciso in Mabinay is 44 years old and has five children. Her husband name Alfredo.

the recipients in the Uplift Program. The Livelihood Lesson is very essential to them. Marilyn has a vacant lot that they
started to used and plant vegetables following the methods they’ve learned. She uses the Organic fertilizer we gave to them.
Alfredo was very clever. He found some worms in the Vermi Cast we gave. What he did was, he separated the worms and
made a vermi bin and allows it to multiply. Now they have worms and very thankful that it was a big help to them for they
produces their own cast and used it on their vegetables garden. They said that being a labourer their income was really not

Narrative:
For almost two months of Uplift operation, I’ve observed that there were immense changes in each recipient in four areas.
During our house to house monitoring we have seen the seeds we gave them growing and sprouting well and the worms
were in good condition as they properly feed it.

In Ptr. Casido’s area, all the counsellor in five groups already have their respective bins with good worms. All the members
in each group brought enough food for the worms to help take good care and for faster cast and worms’ production.

Pastor Maylan,Cabugnason and Genobiagon area were also great because each recipient we visited planted all their seeds,

Christian Heartland Learning Center is one of the first
ICM preschools here in Negros Oriental. This preschool in
Cantiso, Valencia, under Ptr. Edgar Andanar has been
enjoying the benefits of ICM’s Preschool Plus Program
for three years. On the fourth year of operation, the school
found only 12 enrolees which disqualified the area from
availing the program. ICM preschools caters to 25
children who avail of free food, school uniforms, school
supplies, textbooks and many more.

But because of the commitment of Ptr. Andanar to serve
the poor children in this area, he decided to continue
running the preschool without financial assistance from
ICM for the school year 2010-2011. Ptr. Andanar is
grateful that we have trained their teachers so that they are
equipped to manage the preschool on their own. They are
also thankful that we have provided them with chairs,
tables, blackboards and many more which they continue using until now. ICM helped them start this program and now they
are capable of making the program work even if ICM is no longer there to support them with a regular budget.

We continued to pray for this preschool that God will provide for their needs. The teachers continued to serve and teach the
children even without salary. The pastor continued the follow-up work with the parents of the old and new students. ICM
provided the graduates with financial assistance to help them continue going to school. We are helping 26 scholar students
in grade 1, 2 and 3. ICM also continues helping this area by giving them the Transform Program to bring transformation in
the lives of 25 families in Cantiso. This is more than Ptr. Andanar could ever ask for.

In July 2010, one month after the school has been operating without budget from ICM, we found a sponsor for Heartland
Learning Center. The Dumaguete Christian Church agreed to provide the funds so that this school may continue running
with food, school supplies, uniform and even budget for Field Trip and Christmas Party that our ICM preschool do not
have.

Now the 12 students and parents at Heartland Learning Center are rejoicing because God didn’t forsake them. He listened
to their prayers. The teachers are thankful to God for His faithfulness. They trusted Him to provide for the needs of the
preschool and also their own families that rely on them. Ptr. Andanar extends his gratitude to ICM for helping him find a
sponsor to assist him in the preschool ministry. He never doubted that God will meet their needs.

NARRATIVE REPORT:
For the 1st week of July I find it hard to teach for the topics are new to me and I am making some adjustments. Some of the
lessons were familiar because we have some of it in our class before (back when I was in still in college) and some are
basic, but I still need to read more and research as many information as there is, so that I can share more information to the
people whom I teach. Being a teacher is being flexible, alert and ready for whatever changes might occur during the
teaching process.

Before I don’t know if I can do the work being entrusted to me, to our team, because I admit both of us were new to this
field of work. But I thank God that He enables me; He enables us to perform and to do the task.
I am so blessed with the lives of the Pastors in our area. How they treat us and how they accommodate us. They really
thank God for the ministry. I am also blessed with the lives of the recipients for they really showed the eagerness to listen
to the topics being tackled. And they are really willing to uplift and transform their lives not just physically but most
especially spiritually.

Wilma Elmaga is a plain housewife. She helped her husband through working with him in the farm. They
have planted some corn, but because it’s too hot during summer the quality of the corn were not as good
as they expect. So they plant some corn again, but then a great group of army worms destroyed all the
corn crops and they were not able to harvest. But then she didn’t lose hope. She raised some vermin
worms and she enjoyed harvesting cast which is to be used as an organic fertilizer for her new plants
(Vegetables plants) and corns again. She really thanked God and is grateful for the VHL training for
somehow she knows and learned some new information that could help her have a better harvest.
Jocelyn Delasas – has two children. She sells vegetables sometimes to earn money or to have an income.
She is attentively listening to the VHL training. And she said that the VHL training help her a lot
especially in terms of learning new things, on how to help her family.
Mrs. Lucena Villencio is a farmer and her husband is a farmer too. She has a lot of vegetables in her
garden, in fact she also have some corn. Two of her children were already married. But they’re living
near her house. They marry at very young age. Sometimes if they don’t have food to eat, they just cook
vegetables from their garden and pull some cassava root crops and it would feed them for days. She
really thanked God for our lives (all of us). Because She said, “even though their area were mountainous
and very far we really have the passion and love for them, to visit them and to teach them, and sharing
them the word of the Lord. She praised God for the free services that ICMPI is rendering, for they can
also learn while they’re waiting for their children.
Mrs. Lette Laroga is a fisherman’s wife. When she was 13 yrs. Old she already attended some of the
activities in the church. But it didn’t last long. For his father didn’t want her to attend to this activities
because for her father it was just a waste of time. According to his father she’d better work so that she
could have a salary or an income to help her family eat that day. She’s so angry with her father for he

didn’t even bother to let her have a higher education. So she work and work to earn money just to feed
the other siblings including her parents. But then not so long she decided to get married at a very young
age. After then, she came to know the Lord, and she accepted the Lord as His Lord and savior. She had
forgiven his father and forgets everything that makes her hate her father. She shared about the Lord
until his father also accepted the Lord. And bring her whole family to come to know the Lord. Right now
Lette and her family are serving the Lord. She really thanked God for ICM, for she said it didn’t only
bless them materially but also spiritually. The VHL training really helped her learn new things. Things
and type of education that she really aspires before. The right to education that she is being deprived of
her right to have a better education.

This month is a bit hard for me. But it’s an opportunity that God has given me. A chance for me to help the poorest of the
poor. My knowledge in agriculture really helped me much in teaching livelihood. I’m so glad that the recipients were
listening attentively to the lessons. In five areas I can say that the recipients were very attentive and very responsive. They
were very interested to learn more about livelihood. In our house to house visitation the recipients were happy, they feel
special for though there houses were very far we really have the patient and the passion to visit them. I believe that we
created a big impact in there lives. Glory Be to God Alone.

Narrative:
Praised God for His Grace and Goodness! The three weeks operation of the Pre School VHL was very fulfilling in the
sense that it gave us joy and also it helped us realized
the importance of our coming to the place. Our presence was very welcome. During our teaching the recipients are very
receptive and it made us easy to deliver our lessons.

Interesting Stories:
Marissa Estodillo 26 years old and Jonathan Estodillo the parents of Kiel Estodillo was a very solid Roman Catholic
before. The mother was one of the recipients during that time Ptr. Lorna holds a Medical Program. That time, she brought
Kiel who has a problem regarding the lumps on his right jaw. The mother was hoping that the Medical team can help Kiel
on his problem but due to lack of information given at that time Kiel was not catered. Another chance was given when
again Ptr Lorna received a Transform Program.
Marissa became one of the recipients. And again she present Kiel’s problem and to Gods faithfulness, Kiel was catered and
became a recipient under the SMC Program. During that time until now after the operation of Kiel Marissa and Jonathan
became and active member of the church. Jonathan helped build the Pre School building in the church. And Kiel today was
one of the recipients of the Pre School.

Nelyn another recipient of the VHL Pre School in Mabinay. I became interested of her story for the sacrifice she made for
her son. Nelyn was 26 years old, plain housewife, and have only one child name Rene. Her husband has no permanent
work. Everyday the husband went to other places to enquire whatever work he can have for some penny. He will do this the
whole day and returned with some kilos of rice on his hand and viand for them to eat. Nelyn’s son, Rene is a special child.
Rene was also a pre school recipient. Nelyn said that she was very afraid to have a child again because she thinks if she will
have, it will be like Rene again. I told her do not think of it, because the Lord is Gracious and Rene was a gift that was very
special. And if you will have another child, he will not be like Rene again. On the other hand because I am teaching family
planning, I encourage her that if she will have another child, she will always come to think of it. I told her if she wants, she
should see to it that she can afford to provide their needs.

Bonifacio Villegas a recipient of Ptr. Encarnacion became a Christian many years had past. He became an active member
of the church and was chosen as one of the councilor for the parents of Pre school recipients. Before our VHL started
Bonifacio had misunderstanding with the recipient Pastor. The pastor expected him so much to be a helper in the church
especially in the spiritual area. During our visitation, we do not have that idea of what was happen between them and the
pastor. We were there to visit because his house was nearby. In our visit with him, we feel the very warm welcome from
him and his wife. He offers lots of food and we have a great talk. Our visit was very essential to him that after that he was
encourage and went to the Pastor and reconciled to her and promise that he will support whatever activity they will have.
He said to the Pastor that “I am very thankful that God uses the ICM people to come to our house and visit me and
encourage me as well that their words bring healing to my wounded heart.” After what we heard from the Pastor, I my self
was very blessed also that I was became an instrument to bridge the broken relationship of the precious children of Him…..

Narrative:
Before I start my monthly report of this month of July, I would like to give thanks to our God Almighty for giving me these
great such opportunity to work in a ministry where God is our boss and He reign.

After several weeks of preparations, pre-school program was then started which I was excited about. I was able travel
places which are new to me and at the same time learning about their cultures and practices. When I was conducting my
health lecture everyone is attentive on what I am talking about and it made me feel glad for I was not the only one is talking
but there is interactions during the lecture. Every time we visited our areas we never forget to encourage some of the
recipients who are absent during the VHL. But we validated some of their excuses and reasons why they can’t attend and it
includes: (1) they are sick and not feeling well, (3) no one can take good care of their sick child, (2) they attended meeting
of their other children in public school, (4) due to the heavy rain and others.

During this third week of the month we conducted a survey to the areas of Sta. Catalina and Siaton. We was able to visit the
previous recipients of the Uplift Program which was in total brought them some means of living through the seeds that
where distributed and we saw the improvements and on how grateful they are that they was once part of the said program.

Case 1
Rosalia Ibarat a 30 years old our recipient from Narra, Bayawan and is married to Oliver Ibarat 31 years old and are
blessed with five children. Her eldest son is in High School and second and the third are both in elementary school. Her
fourth child is now under the pre-school program.

Rosalia’s husband worked occasionally in the farm of others paying him almost enough for their everyday’s meal. From
time to time they also made charcoal for their extra income which she stated not that enough to provide a better clothing
and meal each day. Rosalia was being emotional as she mentioned about their life and on how they struggle in every trials
that they encountered. Despite on how much burden they have, they never forget to praise and worship God for everything.
Pastor Jaime Cutor stated that Rosalia attended every Sunday’s fellowship even if her house is a one and a half kilometers
away from the church and her five years old child who is in the pre-school walked everyday for school. Rosalia was so
glad that her child was a part of the pre-school program and we ended of interview with a prayer.

Case 2
Liza Vailoces a 33 years old our recipient from Matobato, Bindoy and is living with her second live- in partner. In her first
partner they had four children and three for the second and latest partner. When ask about the reason why they aren’t
married she would just simply reply because they don’t have enough money for filing. Two of her sons are in the
pre-school program. Their main source of income is farming which is not their own and would only pay them 100 per
week. Other source of income includes selling fire woods and making charcoals.

As of per observation in their situation first I saw their house which is only enough for them to sleep, no chair, no table, no
appliance and is made of bamboo and coconut leaves and if strong wind would come it will surely be sweep away. Second,
I saw her children roaming around without proper clothing, proper hygiene and slippers. Third, their surroundings are full
of mosquitoes and other insects which are not good for their health. Fourth, no toilet bowl. One problem with them is their
source of water they have to walk one kilometer just to have water to drink.
Though Liza is struggling for living she never forget to pray everyday to ask God for guidance and provision and Liza
stated that she is happy that ICM made this such program to lift them up.

Accomplishment:
Conducted VHL training in 5 areas in 3 different lessons namely:
Roles and responsibility of a man and a woman

The month of July we had started the VHL training on the preschool parents. What an inspiring scene to see each time we
arrive to the area. Their heartfelt gesture makes us even more excited to have more time, space, and family like bonding as
there’s nothing to say to return home blessed and what does to Him who is able to keep me of service to this pitiable
people. What was an increasing measure has moving in most of our time with the recipients we’re able to capture their
hearts and mind through a solace time set during the values lesson. Let them understand the work of God’s power and on
how to depend on the work of the Holy Spirit as believers.

Carlos Caparida a recipient preschool pastor in the Municipality of Mabinay, attests how he was blessed as program holder
(preschool) as a pastor himself delighted to see the real impact of the program. To the less privileged individuals or family
with children not attending school nothing to say a word but very poor people. But on how God put things in the right time
to established a healthy program to make our labor and strong to desire toward a healthy and commendable way of living
we want to see to our constituents as a nation and as a believers in Christ making it all count in love, hope, and a real
change we desire to see.

Maria Lorico36 years old of age resident of Brgy Lunga Valencia Neg.Or. She has 5 kids on two different husbands. On
her first husband she has 2 children and 3 on the second. By accident her first husband was died; presently living with her
husband sometimes just have enough penny to save a meal a day because not all the time her husband can get a job aside
from the work on the coconut plantation on which her husband depend on but not all the time the said plantation offer long
period of work only by harvest time he could go back for work. Now she is so thankful to the Lord through the ICM
preschool+ her children has a chance to continue their schooling and again flash a confident smile to gain something as
every child has the right in pursuit of knowledge and quality education.

Ailyn Mendoza housewife 30 years old her husband Edwin Pyponco 33 years old of age they are both came from a broken
family-no birth certificate, no real identification to prove of their existence. Their parents were not able to work and
process family documents such as this pertinent papers for legal purposes. She has 34 kids with 1 girl and 2 boys, the older
is now in primary level her one child Ivy Pyponco 6 years old our preschool student. She suffer of her asthma she doesn’t
have birth certificate too either her youngest 2 years old. Her husband only to survive a day’s meal big and small luggage
from the porter’s fee is their only means to fill their starving body. Sometimes he employ in a hollow blocks fabrication if
in need of extra worker just to finish the volume of order. Only to survive the measure of survival led a person to do
anything just to meet a day’s demand. Now she is so thankful of the program that has been a helpful tool to uplift and a lot
of things to learn from.

Agenda: Monthly Program Updates Departmental Narrative Departmental and Personal Accomplishments The meeting was officially opened by singing of worship songs, and a word of prayer led by Timothy Yap. The presence of the two newly hired staff Oliver Dellatan and Franklin Cadiente were welcomed. R E P O R T I N G Strategic Department Lilian J. Ferrer Strategic Dept. Head Narrative: Often times we designate June as the month of “beginning again.” July as “adjustments period.” And why not? Let’s face it, mistakes we made aplenty during the past year or months, so it feels good to know we have the chance for a new beginning and a chance to adjust, to strive harder having learned a good lesson from the mistakes we made in the past. My beloved co-league in the Lord, your presence and cooperation give me this thought, “We must have a new beginnings because we daily face destruction and failure. New opportunities to serve each other and the community give us a second chance to set the record straight, to try it again, to work harder and get it right.” Work harder and get it right – that we plan to do for ICMPI. As we travel across the cities and municipality we are greeted with commendations and hospitability from our recipients and pastors, some says, “Your ministry looks very attractive now and there are more benefits for a wholesome living.”
  • 2. International Care Ministry of the Philippines, Incorporated 2522 San Diego Building, Agan-an Sibulan, Negros Oriental 6201 Tel. No. : (035) 419-6074, 419-7134 Other comments go like this, “I Care is far more different now,” and added, “What are the other programs you are offering for us today? I want to avail.” On the other hand, we also heard things that you may say can discourage us, like “they are not intelligent, not competent, not worthy to that position,” but instead of discouragements, I took these as challenges to strive hard, to run the race with perseverance by God’s grace knowing that my prize is heaven. I would like to consider that these thoughts are not from people outside ICM, not even our leaders who in one way or another trusted us that we can do things in support to the ministry’s vision and objectives. These comments I supposed came from some of our dear staff who supervises no one. However, like Apostle Paul says, “For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong.” I wish to assure our teams and everyone that the implementation we are doing locally is not from our own ideas; it’s the standard operating procedure. Meaning it is a centralized implementation. Any suggestions or comments are always brought to the attention of our Area Head. Other than discussing these comments, we also evaluate the contents and the course of action that go with it. For this year, we pledge to work harder to make this ministry – your ministry – a wholesome organization for all people. More transformation events will be seen that focus on the exploits of the community and our working staff who dare to do right despite of overwhelming odds. Significant and interesting stories of changes in the lives of people we are working with maybe we strive to reach at the most, because this is our duty, our responsibilities to our God. To God be all the glory! Transform Program Precyllyn Castro Transform Leader Narrative: God can do anything you know far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us. Through this two months time the recipients are slowly set aside their old ways and face another day of hope. VALUES The pastors are faithfully teaches and monitors the recipients spiritual aspect. This month there are one hundred thirty eight who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and God.
  • 3. International Care Ministry of the Philippines, Incorporated 2522 San Diego Building, Agan-an Sibulan, Negros Oriental 6201 Tel. No. : (035) 419-6074, 419-7134 As the team had monitored the area, Czarina visited the recipient and it caught her attention. She has 7 children, whose ages are not that far apart. They live in a small nipa hut which has neither a bathroom nor a kitchen. There are 10 of them living in the hut; her husband, her 7 kids, her mother and her. When we visited her, they were eating lunch. Their food was “all rice” porridge with no meat or vegetables. Some of the children, Czarina noticed as they were eating, had shaky hands, probably from much hunger. All the children that were there, including the recipient and her mother were covered with dirt. Most of the children too seemed to have colds. Her husband only drives a “pot-pot” which they do not own. She has no work The team met one of the recipient’s houses. The recipient has a special child. She said that the child was born premature and was advised to have the baby brought to the hospitalized. Because it was her first time to become a mother, so she did not know well so instead of bringing the baby to the hospital right away, she bathed the baby. She said that the doctor told her that the baby had meningitis, and had little chance to live. Through God’s grace, the baby survived despite his condition being premature and very sick. Though now, she is not really sure of her salvation yet, but she is starting to learn more about living in faith. HEALTH We had an opportunity to connect with the LOCAL GOVERMENT UNIT in the field of Health. Due to the increase of the dengue cases here in Dumaguete City , the health workers in Buñao instigate this case. They taught about how to prevent dengue and encourage the recipient to use mosquito net. The government is providing chemicals to be use in soaking the mosquito net in order to repel mosquitoes. In this area, we also experience the decrease of the number of the recipients due to some reasons and priorities. The Pastor is not giving up but instead he do his very best to find more recipients. In Cantiso, Valencia we witness and experienced the celebration of nutrition month last July 22, 2010 in connection with the lecture that they had last time when they tackle about MALNUTRITION. The recipients are having enjoyment as they put together their food in the table. They serve pinakbet, lumpia and other veggies also an all natural fruit mix or as we call it, “halo-halo”. They complete all the three basic food groups in the table. The team did not need to bring lunch because they prepared a lot of food. They are abundant in fruits. People there are really blessed, because they have plenty of resources around them. Cel ebr atin g Nutrition Month

No. : (035) 419-6074, 419-7134 Concerns: Request of the previous area pastors with their recipients birth certificates and CENOMAR be materialized. One concern the OAC nurse has encountered on the field, is communing all OAC recipients and visitors in advance for triage. Not only do they live very far apart but they do have graders to attend to for lunch and home chores to do before they are finally free to attend. The earliest they can come for some - would be a little before 12 noons. Only during the OAC scheduled at 1 pm can the nurse begin screening the patients. On one occasion during the last OAC schedule, the recipients were instructed to come very early with instructions to bring packed lunch. A big group has indeed gathered upon our arrival, however only a few had taken their lunch and brought pack lunch. A considerable number of them did not. The OAC team wanted to send them back home for them to take their lunch first (considering that OAC may end as late as 5 pm) assuring them priority numbers. However due to the distance, they all opted to stay behind leaving the host the necessity to serve them lunch. (Patients during this occasion were mostly old and very young). Praises: Praised God for the wisdom that He has given me. Praised God for my teammates who cooperate and take the initiative to help me. Prayer Requests: Please continue to pray for wisdom as we do our task that is assigned to us. Pray for all the donors and sponsors. Joanna Kris Velasco Health Trainer Transform Team 1 Narrative: For the month of July I am well adjusted by my work description. The recipients are now motivated and stimulated in the topic we taught in Transform Program. Ptr. Remelino Torres, as I was finalizing the lists of recipients many of them are hungry by God’s spiritual word. One of the recipients in the area of Ptr. Torres states instead of doing nothing she rather listen to the word of God and gain the benefits’ of teaching in VHL. July 12, 2010 we had our visitor from national and international or shall we call them ICM 101. Miss Mardione and Josh are my company during their return demonstration. The recipients were very cooperative as the lecture has been given to them. House to house monitoring brings fun to us amidst of the weather conditions we have. The recipients welcome us and we were able to witness the lifestyle and we also witness how they plant the seeds we have given them. In the area run by Ptr. Gildo Tenorio, Corrie Sutherland, Ptr. Dave and the team had an adventure as we walk at the bridge going to the house of our recipients. The main point is that as we are teaching malnutrition we do it by heart with fun to get along with the recipients. As the program goes along they are more eager to cooperate. Corrie had some food to give to them as a prize to who get the correct answer. They were all responsive and I’m happy for it. Under the care of Pastor Feliciano Baruman, although some of the recipients withdrawn for some precedence there are recipients also who remain very faithful. They don’t want to miss the entire lesson they have. I am very blessed to hear their testimony as one said” we need to sacrifice in order to achieve what we want in life.” We witness the progress in Pastor Solamillo’s area, one of the recipients there is Sanny Calidquid take good care of the demo farm he gave his time. He really put action on what he learned. We are glad to know about it because we witness the vegetable garden on our own eyes. For all the area I had Pastor Bonard Pino’s area decrease in number of the recipients. Some counsellors withdraw because they have work to do so. The Pastor is not giving up but instead he do his very best to find more recipients. Personal Accomplishments: Monitored 102 families.

As the saying goes “heavy loads become lighter when helping hands joined together”. Eight weeks had already passed, and another challenges God is giving us. I’m very joyful for what has transpired in this month and many recipients had done their part. Under the area of Pastor Baruman in San Jose, Eugenio Salapayne 47 years old is very interested in the lessons we taught, and not only that but he also executed what he learned. During our monitoring, the seeds that I gave to him are now sprouting. He constructed vermi bin in their home and was excited to receive vermi worms. He already prepared food for the vermi worms and made a compost pit. Also, Eugenio set up 15 plots for pechay. If we put together our work in prayer, we will truly see its results. Prayer Requests: Please pray for the recipients to work hard to plant vegetables. Please pray for wisdom and strength as we go to the area. Please pray for good health for my family and all staff Soledad Virgo Health Trainer Transform Team 2 Narrative: Two months have passed since we started the implementation of our program. Attendance rise and fall when we imposed the rule of three consecutive absences is already dropped. Pastors really got a hard time completing the lists of twenty-five recipients. Only two of our recipient pastors (Ptr. Jaime Cadiz and Ptra. Jingle Buhat) completed the lists. Yet, until now we keep on receiving new recipients as instructed by our leader.

No. : (035) 419-6074, 419-7134 July is the schedule of our areas for Open Air Clinic. Two hundred thirty-one recipients including their families were catered. Twenty-five were given referrals for laboratories, x-rays and etc. but only one patient complied. ICM 101 team arrived last Jul 12 and 13 as scheduled and four of them (two by two) went with us for two consecutive days. Ptr. Primo Sistual and Mr. Kirk Miller accompanied us to Ptr. Ivan Tucaling’s church. Mr. Kirk taught the Primary Health Education and I as the translator. Praise God for he made things easy for me. Ptr. Primo on the other hand, did the Livelihood lectures. They were able to visit seven families. Miss Caroline from General Santos City and Mr. Tierry Garcia went with us to Ptra. Jingle Buhat’s area. Mr. Tierry, a Filipino-American taught the PHE lessons in Filipino and we did the lecture as a tandem. Mr. Tierry asked questions from the recipients and gave rewards of twenty pesos each for every correct answer. We visited two houses; one house with three families living in it. A house that almost half of its roofs were destroyed which made them wet during rainy days. Mr. Tierry interviewed the three wives and learned that these families were just renting the house or a hut we could consider. He prayed and ministered to these families and gave some chocolates to their kids. Miss Caroline on the other hand, did the Livelihood lecture with Bong. Ptr. Ariston was absent for two weeks since his wife was hospitalized and Bong took over his place as Values lecturer. Ptr. Cadiz completed the list of twenty-five recipients with only four counselors. As we monitored the nineteen recipients, we found out that seven of them were just lived in. The good thing I discovered when we did visitation was that Ptr. Cadiz and his wife had established a good relationship to these people. Most of them attended weekly Bible studies at Ptr. Cadiz’ residence and more than half of them attended church. Recipients had grown their seeds and started to plant at their respective homes. Three areas had their own Demo Farms and recipients were excited to start gardening since most of them are planters. My partner and I monitored sixty-four families for this month. Personal Accomplishments: Monitored 71 families. Taught the health lessons assigned to me. Monitored the status of the patient after the Open Air Clinic. Attended training of the basic Facts about Leprosy. Praises: Praised God for the good health and the strength. Praised God for the wisdom He has given me. Prayer Requests: Please pray for the wisdom and protection as we go to the areas. Please pray for the perseverance of the recipients. Please pray for the donors and sponsors. Please pray for our nation. Ariel Palma Livelihood Trainer Transform Team 2 Narrative: The month of July is an exciting month for us, where we see result in the demo farm of the area we are in. From this month the very best area was under the supervision of Pastor Ivan Tucaling. The recipients are grateful for the things we had done; we planted already 5 varieties of seeds. For the string beans, the expected harvest will be on September first week. In Pastor Mar Elarcosa’s area we planted pechay, but so sad we recorded mortality rates of pechay due to heavy rain. There are some sprouting pechay, the expected date of this will be on August last week. The result of Feed Fermentation in Ptra. Jingle Buhat is very good; we tried to feed the chicken. The recipients stress out that they can “save money” to buy feeds in their livestock. During our monitoring we have seen how they applied the lessons we taught about them. The recipients are very bless in joining this program, as we bring hope for them. I believe God is the finisher of all this things and even He will be the one to cultivate the lives of this people.

Czarina Ann Tia Health Trainer Transform Team 3 Narrative: Mondays: During Mondays, we go to a church in Salngan, Zamboanguita which is under the Ptr. Danilo Solana. There we have a complete number of recipients and counselors. So far, we have monitored 15 houses, one of which has really caught my attention. Some of the children, we noticed as they were eating, had shaky hands, probably from much hunger. All the children that were there, including the recipient and her mother were covered with dirt. Most of the children too seemed to have colds. Her husband only drives a “pot-pot” which they do not own. She has no work. We have really observed how pitiful their life is and makes us want to be able to help more but could not because we also have limited resources. It also made me realize how blessed I am because though we may not be rich but still, God provides us with more than enough. Tuesdays: On Tuesdays, we go to Pansil, Sibulan. They have not pastor there at this time but they are advocated by one of ICM staff’s wife, Ma’am Leonora Laid. I am very thankful because of all the times I was there; they also had a perfect attendance. The recipients, most of them are very attentive during lectures. We had a slight problem during our OAC week at their area because the visitors got the earlier number and some of them got 3 or more. There were some recipients who were not catered already. Good thing, the medical team allowed to extend a little for one of the recipients who just gave birth a few days before. Also, one of their counselors has a case of tuberculosis who was recently hospitalized. She is now resting in their home. Wednesdays In Basak, Bais headed by Ptr. Charlito Cardoza, I am very blessed by the willingness of the people to learn. Even though they may not have a proper place to sit or though their houses are very far, they are very diligent in attending the lecture. Going to the meeting place in Basak is very challenging. Since the double cab could no longer go farther in that area, we have to walk. To be able to reach the area we walk passing a little river and going to the next hill. I thank God always for the strength He provides me for all the hiking and everything. Thursdays On Thursdays, our area is in Cantiso, Valencia whose pastor is Ptr. Edgar Andanar. The place where we conduct our lectures is also where they have their preschool. They applied for a preschool plus program in ICM but they were not able to reach the required number of students, but still, they continued the school

We did demonstration on how to make SODIS (SOLAR WATER DISINFECTION), livestock feeds and taught how to do seed banking. We gave seeds every week to the recipients in 5 areas. We gave vermi worms to only one area because some areas had their vermi. Some of the recipients and counsellors were initiated to breed vermi. As we monitored to the areas, we found out that some had already demofarm but some still searching of a place for demofarm. The seeds that we gave to them are already sprouting but some did not. For almost two months of travelling every day, conducting lectures, doing house to house visitations for monitoring the effectiveness of the lectures and how it implemented. Changes in recipient’s lives are dramatically changing although it’s not rapid but their efforts are obviously seen. No. : (035) 419-6074, 419-7134 Health lectures plays a big role in all the programs. Recipients became more conscious with regards to their health status. Simple management on how to prepare food for their family, importance of hand washing which obviously some of them were not aware of it before, and also this simple way can help them prevent many diseases. Livelihood- it improves the knowledge to many as basic and yet cheap and effective way of farming was being taught. People felt their importance to the community as these types of lectures offered for free and with love to them. The pastor in the community also became the hero, and it would be easier to reach these people as ICM unique approaches were also improved. As part of the expansion of Gods ministry it is our joy to see the positive results and response of the recipients that God entrusted to us, though sometimes our flesh and heart failed but we believed that God is still the strength of our heart TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

As feelings of excitement and worries mix together in reaching out our goal and looking forward to see the positive results of our efforts and of the things we have imparted to them. And this month Roquita and I saw that recipients implemented things they have learned from the program. Visitations made, help the recipients being encourage continuing pursuing change in their old ways that hinder them to have abundant living. Interesting stories: Marilyn Olores a recipient from Ptr. Narciso in Mabinay is 44 years old and has five children. Her husband name Alfredo. These couple is helping each other to raise their five children. Marilyn was very grateful that they were chosen as one of the recipients in the Uplift Program. The Livelihood Lesson is very essential to them. Marilyn has a vacant lot that they started to used and plant vegetables following the methods they’ve learned. She uses the Organic fertilizer we gave to them. Alfredo was very clever. He found some worms in the Vermi Cast we gave. What he did was, he separated the worms and made a vermi bin and allows it to multiply. Now they have worms and very thankful that it was a big help to them for they produces their own cast and used it on their vegetables garden. No. : (035) 419-6074, 419-7134 Christian Heartland Learning Center is one of the first ICM preschools here in Negros Oriental. This preschool in Cantiso, Valencia, under Ptr. Edgar Andanar has been enjoying the benefits of ICM’s Preschool Plus Program for three years. On the fourth year of operation, the school found only 12 enrolees which disqualified the area from availing the program. ICM preschools caters to 25 children who avail of free food, school uniforms, school supplies, textbooks and many more. But because of the commitment of Ptr. Andanar to serve the poor children in this area, he decided to continue running the preschool without financial assistance from ICM for the school year 2010-2011. Ptr. Andanar is grateful that we have trained their teachers so that they are equipped to manage the preschool on their own. They are also thankful that we have provided them with chairs, tables, blackboards and many more which they continue using until now. ICM helped them start this program and now they are capable of making the program work even if ICM is no longer there to support them with a regular budget. We continued to pray for this preschool that God will provide for their needs. The teachers continued to serve and teach the children even without salary. The pastor continued the follow-up work with the parents of the old and new students. ICM provided the graduates with financial assistance to help them continue going to school. We are helping 26 scholar students in grade 1, 2 and 3. ICM also continues helping this area by giving them the Transform Program to bring transformation in the lives of 25 families in Cantiso. This is more than Ptr. Andanar could ever ask for. In July 2010, one month after the school has been operating without budget from ICM, we found a sponsor for Heartland Learning Center. The Dumaguete Christian Church agreed to provide the funds so that this school may continue running with food, school supplies, uniform and even budget for Field Trip and Christmas Party that our ICM preschool do not have. Now the 12 students and parents at Heartland Learning Center are rejoicing because God didn’t forsake them. He listened to their prayers. The teachers are thankful to God for His faithfulness. They trusted Him to provide for the needs of the preschool and also their own families that rely on them. Ptr. Andanar extends his gratitude to ICM for helping him find a sponsor to assist him in the preschool ministry. He never doubted that God will meet their needs. TO GOD BE THE GLORY Ferny Kim Gamala Health Trainer Pre-school+ Team 1 NARRATIVE REPORT: For the 1st week of July I find it hard to teach for the topics are new to me and I am making some adjustments. Some of the lessons were familiar because we have some of it in our class before (back when I was in still in college) and some are basic, but I still need to read more and research as many information as there is, so that I can share more information to the people whom I teach. Being a teacher is being flexible, alert and ready for whatever changes might occur during the teaching process. Before I don’t know if I can do the work being entrusted to me, to our team, because I admit both of us were new to this field of work. But I thank God that He enables me; He enables us to perform and to do the task. I am so blessed with the lives of the Pastors in our area. How they treat us and how they accommodate us. They really thank God for the ministry. I am also blessed with the lives of the recipients for they really showed the eagerness to listen to the topics being tackled. And they are really willing to uplift and transform their lives not just physically but most especially spiritually. Wilma Elmaga is a plain housewife. She helped her husband through working with him in the farm. They have planted some corn, but because it’s too hot during summer the quality of the corn were not as good as they expect. So they plant some corn again, but then a great group of army worms destroyed all the corn crops and they were not able to harvest. But then she didn’t lose hope. She raised some vermin worms and she enjoyed harvesting cast which is to be used as an organic fertilizer for her new plants (Vegetables plants) and corns again. She really thanked God and is grateful for the VHL training for somehow she knows and learned some new information that could help her have a better harvest. Jocelyn Delasas – has two children. She sells vegetables sometimes to earn money or to have an income. She is attentively listening to the VHL training. And she said that the VHL training help her a lot especially in terms of learning new things, on how to help her family. Mrs. Lucena Villencio is a farmer and her husband is a farmer too. She has a lot of vegetables in her garden, in fact she also have some corn. Two of her children were already married. But they’re living near her house. They marry at very young age. Sometimes if they don’t have food to eat, they just cook vegetables from their garden and pull some cassava root crops and it would feed them for days. She really thanked God for our lives (all of us). Because She said, “even though their area were mountainous and very far we really have the passion and love for them, to visit them and to teach them, and sharing them the word of the Lord. She praised God for the free services that ICMPI is rendering, for they can also learn while they’re waiting for their children. Mrs. Lette Laroga is a fisherman’s wife. When she was 13 yrs. Old she already attended some of the activities in the church. But it didn’t last long. For his father didn’t want her to attend to this activities because for her father it was just a waste of time. According to his father she’d better work so that she could have a salary or an income to help her family eat that day. She’s so angry with her father for he

But then not so long she decided to get married at a very young age. After then, she came to know the Lord, and she accepted the Lord as His Lord and savior. She had forgiven his father and forgets everything that makes her hate her father. She shared about the Lord until his father also accepted the Lord. And bring her whole family to come to know the Lord. Right now Lette and her family are serving the Lord. She really thanked God for ICM, for she said it didn’t only bless them materially but also spiritually. The VHL training really helped her learn new things. Things and type of education that she really aspires before. The right to education that she is being deprived of her right to have a better education. PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT: House to house visitation with the ICM 101 Team Attended the Training on Basic Facts About Leprosy I and Erin was able to lead one soul to come to know the Lord Helped Erin ( one from the ICM 101 Team) teach malnutrition by translating and adding some facts and some information Attended the GSM meeting and was able to get some clue on how to report and as well as getting some information regarding some facts that we may encounter in the filed Was able to packed seeds and made ready for the distribution Helped the Leaders under the strategic department to pack some rice and made it ready for each teams PRAISES: Praise God for the good health and for the protection Praise God for every second and every day of my life He never leaves me Thanks God for His faithfulness Praise God for the Life Erin, I was so blessed with her life Sammy Zamora Livelihood Trainer Pre-school+ Team1 NARRATIVE This month is a bit hard for me. But it’s an opportunity that God has given me. A chance for me to help the poorest of the poor. My knowledge in agriculture really helped me much in teaching livelihood. I’m so glad that the recipients were listening attentively to the lessons. In five areas I can say that the recipients were very attentive and very responsive. They were very interested to learn more about livelihood. In our house to house visitation the recipients were happy, they feel special for though there houses were very far we really have the patient and the passion to visit them. Sol C. Giganto Health Trainer Pre-school+ Team 2 Narrative: Praised God for His Grace and Goodness! The three weeks operation of the Pre School VHL was very fulfilling in the sense that it gave us joy and also it helped us realized the importance of our coming to the place. Our presence was very welcome. During our teaching the recipients are very receptive and it made us easy to deliver our lessons. Interesting Stories: Marissa Estodillo 26 years old and Jonathan Estodillo the parents of Kiel Estodillo was a very solid Roman Catholic before. The mother was one of the recipients during that time Ptr. Lorna holds a Medical Program. That time, she brought Kiel who has a problem regarding the lumps on his right jaw. The mother was hoping that the Medical team can help Kiel on his problem but due to lack of information given at that time Kiel was not catered. Another chance was given when again Ptr Lorna received a Transform Program. Marissa became one of the recipients. And again she present Kiel’s problem and to Gods faithfulness, Kiel was catered and became a recipient under the SMC Program. During that time until now after the operation of Kiel Marissa and Jonathan became and active member of the church. Jonathan helped build the Pre School building in the church. And Kiel today was one of the recipients of the Pre School. Nelyn another recipient of the VHL Pre School in Mabinay. I became interested of her story for the sacrifice she made for her son. Nelyn was 26 years old, plain housewife, and have only one child name Rene. Her husband has no permanent work. Everyday the husband went to other places to enquire whatever work he can have for some penny. He will do this the whole day and returned with some kilos of rice on his hand and viand for them to eat. Nelyn’s son, Rene is a special child. Rene was also a pre school recipient. Nelyn said that she was very afraid to have a child again because she thinks if she will have, it will be like Rene again. I told her do not think of it, because the Lord is Gracious and Rene was a gift that was very special. And if you will have another child, he will not be like Rene again. On the other hand because I am teaching family planning, I encourage her that if she will have another child, she will always come to think of it. I told her if she wants, she should see to it that she can afford to provide their needs. Bonifacio Villegas a recipient of Ptr. Encarnacion became a Christian many years had past. He became an active member of the church and was chosen as one of the councilor for the parents of Pre school recipients. Before our VHL started Bonifacio had misunderstanding with the recipient Pastor. The pastor expected him so much to be a helper in the church especially in the spiritual area. During our visitation, we do not have that idea of what was happen between them and the pastor. We were there to visit because his house was nearby. In our visit with him, we feel the very warm welcome from him and his wife. He offers lots of food and we have a great talk. Our visit was very essential to him that after that he was encourage and went to the Pastor and reconciled to her and promise that he will support whatever activity they will have. He said to the Pastor that “I am very thankful that God uses the ICM people to come to our house and visit me and encourage me as well that their words bring healing to my wounded heart.” After what we heard from the Pastor, I my self was very blessed also that I was became an instrument to bridge the broken relationship of the precious children of Him….. Accomplishments: Packed seeds for Pre School used. Attended GSM last July 3. Attended meeting with the C.O.O.(Helen Turner) in presenting the Excel Program. Attended Training of Basic Facts About Leprosy. Taught Health Lesson in the area I was assigned.

No. : (035) 419-6074, 419-7134 Narrative: Before I start my monthly report of this month of July, I would like to give thanks to our God Almighty for giving me these great such opportunity to work in a ministry where God is our boss and He reign. After several weeks of preparations, pre-school program was then started which I was excited about. I was able travel places which are new to me and at the same time learning about their cultures and practices. When I was conducting my health lecture everyone is attentive on what I am talking about and it made me feel glad for I was not the only one is talking but there is interactions during the lecture. Every time we visited our areas we never forget to encourage some of the recipients who are absent during the VHL. But we validated some of their excuses and reasons why they can’t attend and it includes: (1) they are sick and not feeling well, (3) no one can take good care of their sick child, (2) they attended meeting of their other children in public school, (4) due to the heavy rain and others. During this third week of the month we conducted a survey to the areas of Sta. Catalina and Siaton. We was able to visit the previous recipients of the Uplift Program which was in total brought them some means of living through the seeds that where distributed and we saw the improvements and on how grateful they are that they was once part of the said program. Case 1 Rosalia Ibarat a 30 years old our recipient from Narra, Bayawan and is married to Oliver Ibarat 31 years old and are blessed with five children. Her eldest son is in High School and second and the third are both in elementary school. Her fourth child is now under the pre-school program. Rosalia’s husband worked occasionally in the farm of others paying him almost enough for their everyday’s meal. From time to time they also made charcoal for their extra income which she stated not that enough to provide a better clothing and meal each day. Rosalia was being emotional as she mentioned about their life and on how they struggle in every trials that they encountered. Despite on how much burden they have, they never forget to praise and worship God for everything. Pastor Jaime Cutor stated that Rosalia attended every Sunday’s fellowship even if her house is a one and a half kilometers away from the church and her five years old child who is in the pre-school walked everyday for school. Rosalia was so glad that her child was a part of the pre-school program and we ended of interview with a prayer. Case 2 Liza Vailoces a 33 years old our recipient from Matobato, Bindoy and is living with her second live- in partner. In her first partner they had four children and three for the second and latest partner. When ask about the reason why they aren’t married she would just simply reply because they don’t have enough money for filing. Two of her sons are in the pre-school program. Their main source of income is farming which is not their own and would only pay them 100 per week. Other source of income includes selling fire woods and making charcoals. As of per observation in their situation first I saw their house which is only enough for them to sleep, no chair, no table, no appliance and is made of bamboo and coconut leaves and if strong wind would come it will surely be sweep away. Second, I saw her children roaming around without proper clothing, proper hygiene and slippers. Third, their surroundings are full of mosquitoes and other insects which are not good for their health. Fourth, no toilet bowl. One problem with them is their source of water they have to walk one kilometer just to have water to drink. Though Liza is struggling for living she never forget to pray everyday to ask God for guidance and provision and Liza stated that she is happy that ICM made this such program to lift them up. Prayer Request: Safety and good health For my mother’s safety and good health that she can come back here in the Phils. this month. That the Lord God would work in the heart of her employer and agency and grant her freedom. Richie Baldevia Livelihood Trainer Pre-school+ Team 3 The month of July we had started the VHL training on the preschool parents. What an inspiring scene to see each time we arrive to the area. Their heartfelt gesture makes us even more excited to have more time, space, and family like bonding as there’s nothing to say to return home blessed and what does to Him who is able to keep me of service to this pitiable people. What was an increasing measure has moving in most of our time with the recipients we’re able to capture their hearts and mind through a solace time set during the values lesson. Let them understand the work of God’s power and on how to depend on the work of the Holy Spirit as believers. Carlos Caparida a recipient preschool pastor in the Municipality of Mabinay, attests how he was blessed as program holder (preschool) as a pastor himself delighted to see the real impact of the program. To the less privileged individuals or family with children not attending school nothing to say a word but very poor people. But on how God put things in the right time to established a healthy program to make our labor and strong to desire toward a healthy and commendable way of living we want to see to our constituents as a nation and as a believers in Christ making it all count in love, hope, and a real change we desire to see. Maria Lorico36 years old of age resident of Brgy Lunga Valencia Neg.Or. She has 5 kids on two different husbands. On her first husband she has 2 children and 3 on the second. By accident her first husband was died; presently living with her husband sometimes just have enough penny to save a meal a day because not all the time her husband can get a job aside from the work on the coconut plantation on which her husband depend on but not all the time the said plantation offer long period of work only by harvest time he could go back for work. Now she is so thankful to the Lord through the ICM preschool+ her children has a chance to continue their schooling and again flash a confident smile to gain something as every child has the right in pursuit of knowledge and quality education. Ailyn Mendoza housewife 30 years old her husband Edwin Pyponco 33 years old of age they are both came from a broken family-no birth certificate, no real identification to prove of their existence. Their parents were not able to work and process family documents such as this pertinent papers for legal purposes. She suffer of her asthma she doesn’t have birth certificate too either her youngest 2 years old. Her husband only to survive a day’s meal big and small luggage from the porter’s fee is their only means to fill their starving body. Sometimes he employ in a hollow blocks fabrication if in need of extra worker just to finish the volume of order. Only to survive the measure of survival led a person to do anything just to meet a day’s demand. Now she is so thankful of the program that has been a helpful tool to uplift and a lot of things to learn from.
