2. Definition of waste
Waste is unwanted or useless materials produced from human's
activities.
We can convert most of them and take advantage using rubbish to
make products like plastics,cardboard,
glass,cans,...
If we don't dispose of them, We
will have problems because they bring
diseases,bad smells,animals
looking for food.
3. Historical develpoment.
Since Industrial Revolution, humans produce a growing number
of trash because factories and life stile changed.
This is a problematic thing because we must control them using
technology and contributing with money.
The new Life style makes that we use a lot of plastics containers
because we buy packed items.
4. Types of waste: Primary origin
Primary origin: Produced by agriculture and farming.
Organic fertilizer (excrement)
Rest of pesticide
Rest of plants
5. Types of waste:Secondary origin
Second origin: Produced by industry.
Inert rubbish like rocks,sand.
Toxic rubbish like chemical compouds.
Radioactivity compounds produced by energy production.
6. Types of waste: Third origin.
Third origin: Produced by sanitation and human's activities
at home.
Biological rests: By hospital cures
Municipal solid waste like plastic bags, organic rubbish, glass
or cardboard.
7. Waste utilities
3R rule, we should use this rule to cut down the level of
rubbish and fight against the environmental impact:
Reduce: Try to use only the necessary containers.
Reuse: For example we can use plastic bags like trash bags.
Recycle:Transform waste in productive items.
8. Utilities of primary origin wastes
We can burn them for produce warmth and energy but
generate CO² wich cause global warming.
Also ,with organic waste, we can make compost to
fertilizer plants.
9. Utilities of secondary origin wastes
Usually we cannot take advantage of this rubbish but we must
manage them because often they are dangerous.
With radioactivity and toxic compounds, normally, we pack in
containers and store them. We wait because they will lose their
activity with time.
10. Utilities of third origin wastes:
With biological rests automatically we burn them because they
are a disease and infection node. By this way we avoid to
problems.
Regarding municipal solid waste we separate in the differents
kinds of junk and later we can choose differents ways to recycle
them:
Burn them for produce energy
We can bury them for fertilize the ground in landfills.
11. Problems arising from waste
The not management of waste cause:
Diseases like difteria,colera,salmonella,...
”Rubbish ilands” wich float in oceans.
Problems between humans and animals who are looking
for food.
Not to follow 3R rule causes overproduction of waste
and increase recycling cost.
