Second Defense Business Analysis
Hello class! This week we are continuing with our discussion of our chosen paper topics. There is a significant amount of information that needs to be
covered this week, so let's get started.
First, let me explain how I envision my company being organized. For those of you that don't remember, my company's name is 'Second Defense,' and
it's a company that provides helicopter air support to local law enforcement agencies that don't have the manning/money/other resources to operate an
air support unit within their department. For Second Defense, I am focusing mostly on the Albuquerque New Mexico area, since it is an area within
law enforcement that I am very familiar.
My company will be organized into three main branches: Administration, Operations, and Support. The Administration branch is responsible for the
overall hierarchy of the company, such as the owner and upper management. Upper management would coordinate between the branches and day to day

These applications are: enterprise systems, and supply chain systems. First, enterprise systems is necessary because enterprise systems enables the
company's resources to be planned. The main resources of Second Defense are materials needed to operate the helicopter. I have no real experience
with helicopter maintenance, but from speaking with helicopter crew chiefs I've learned that the entire engine needs to be disassembled and inspected
every so many hours of operation. The second application that is needed for my company to function efficiently is supply chain systems. Again, this
application is primarily used to ensure that the parts for the helicopter arrive when needed. I see the Administration branch handling all or most of the
enterprise applications within Second Defense. Unlike the Administration branch, the Support branch is responsible for the business

Business World Class Analysis
I am not very smart about the business world, so the main thing I want to learn in this class is the vocabulary that is used in the business world. I feel
like If I don't understand the terminology then I wouldn't be able to understand things that happen in the business world. I would have to stop and
check what the words mean before continuing my reading or writing. Another thing I would like to take away from this class is the ability to
understand what it takes to be a business leader and be able to do the job if the opportunity ever presented itself. The third thing I would like to
understand is the different ethics people follow in each countries. Also how different countries work together when their ethics differentiate so much.

Business Analysis: Gecko Hair
A SWOT analysis is an excellent tool for gathering information that outlines the businesses strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, for use in
the business plan (Chapman S., 2006). It is an effective technique that can be analysed in the table below in figure 17, for Gecko Hair.
Figure 17: Table of the Definitions to the Types of Financial Reports at Gecko Hair (Ramey K., 2013).
Gecko Hair outlines several strengths, contributing to its success and current stage of the business life cycle and human resources cycle. Gecko Hair is a
small business that values building a friendly atmosphere and relationships with its clients, displaying effective employment relations where the staff
are able to communicate efficiently with their clients at a personal level. Also, through offering salon only products that clients have taken a liking to,
the business gains a competitive advantage and in turn profit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gecko Hair struggles to return client calls at an appropriate pace, avoid pushy sales clients and has yet to launch their business website. To overcome
their weaknesses, the business could set reminders (notes) to call back their clients, ticking it off after they have done so. Also, to avoid pushy sales
clients, the staff could continue to speak firm on the fact that they cannot offer the client their request but instead suggest exclusive goods and
services at low prices. The business should also consider launching their website so that more clients can reach them online and view their list of
services and more. Expanding the store size will allow for more services to be provided and as the business approaches the maturity stage, they could
look into relocating to a larger

Groupon Inc. is a marketing based company with its' headquarters in Chicago, Il. The company was founded in 2008. Before developing Groupon,
Andrew Mason formed the collective action based website, The Point. This start–up lead the way to the birth of Groupon. Groupon started as a daily
deal website that advertised local businesses. Groupon later went on to offer different types of products, services, and vacation packages. The first

The process was to form a list of potential business clients, hire two salespeople to collaborate with the Chicago headquarters, add a writer and a
customer service representative, and train them on Groupon protocols. (Sennett 70) During their expansion they decided to start one new city a month.
Peter Barris, a venture capitalist and a major contributor to The Point, became impatient with the progress. He wanted them to expand to four cities in a

Business Analysis : Abercrombie & Fitch Company
Consumers are very crucial stakeholders in any profit–making business. However, their value, to the enterprise, depends on the extent of the company's
perception of the consumers. The size of the market defines the level of revenues that a company can earn. Furthermore, every business targets at
expanding its market so as to realize both short–term and long–term benefits. This analogy initiates the need for a market plan for a company besides

Business Impact Analysis
This is an essential organization's business component that composes of a continuance plan for the firm (Hiles, 2002). This plan includes planning
components that aid in developing strategies for mitigating risks, and an exploratory component to indicate and identify any vulnerability.
In this analysis account, the researcher is going to discuss and subsequently describe methods for establishing components priorities by determining
components dependencies and reliance in both business continuity and disaster recovery.
According to (Cardoza, 2006), in developing a business impact analysis, we always go through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Work Recovery Time (WRT)– this is the second phase of MTD, it happens mostly on the third day of MTD.
Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)– this is the system recovery time, it is the available time to recover disrupted resources and systems.
Recovery Point Objective (RPO) – this is the extent or amount of data loss that a critical business system can tolerate.
The above are the recovery time framework that will assist in calculating the time and form through which a business will evolve before collapsing
(Hiles, 2002).
To do a business impact analysis, the element of component dependency arises. Components dependencies are the interdependency between the
exploratory components and the planning components. With the planning component, the organization will dwell much on the minimizing and
mitigating the risks that will lead to business disruption, while the exploratory component will dwell so much on discovering and identification of
vulnerable areas within the business. Their dependency is as important as the two areas. For an organization to mitigate the risks, it should be aware
of the areas that are more vulnerable to risks, and if an organization identifiers the risk then it will have to look for ways to reduce its occurrence or the
impacts. Mostly the planning happens after the exploratory component (Cardoza, 2006).

Business Analysis
Introduction
The sources of new business ideas come from a variety of places. It could be from a problem that needs to be solved from a consumer, existing
knowledge in a business and a vision to improve, or recognizing an alternative use for a new technology. While ideas are plentiful, the ability to bring
that idea to fruition, and create a profitable business from it, is much more difficult.
Examples
The example from chapter 4 was interesting on Elon Musk (Hisrich, Peters, & Shepherd, 2017). His ability to build a business, sell it, then build a
bigger business, gives insight that he is more interested in solving large seemingly insurmountable, problems than holding on to a business. Musk is
not afraid of big risks. His legacy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Failure can appropriately encourage better choices in the future. His idea generation came in the form of knowing the business he was getting into and
combining another business to complement the current venture. Without moving forward in his education and obtaining a job to learn how to dig into
financials of a company, he would not have had the opportunity to generate his idea. There is a video that is shown in many continuing education
classes on IDEO, which is a company in California that takes an existing product and makes it better. Through observation, industry study, and a variety
of other methods, the innovation team that consists of a biologist, psychologist, MBA graduate, and an engineer, among others, generates ideas through
problem solving and creative visualizing. They quickly boil down the ideas into something that can be manufactured and meets core requirements of
the customer to produce prototypes. They take the best ideas from the prototypes and create the final recommendation. Their structured process to idea
creation is fascinating, from a diverse team aspect, as well as efficiency. It seems chaotic at times but repeatedly they have produced products for
existing companies such as the new shopping cart at Fresh Market and Whole Foods, shoes that pump up and toothbrushes with varying bristle lengths.

Analysis Of Start Up A New Business
Starting up a new business is an activity that requires the use of capital to ensure that the business is successful. However, in most cases, business
organizations do not have adequate capital to implement the business ideas. On the other hand, the owners of patented products may face the challenge
of making decisions on how they should venture into the market due to lack of capital. There are many options available to start–ups on how they can
succeed in the market. For instance, franchising, licensing or securing loans from banks may be among the options utilized by owners of patents
(Maynard & Warren, 2014). Making decisions on the best option may be a tough task since all the options have advantages and disadvantages. Through

Having an understanding of the expectations of the customers, Nova should have the ability to make the fittest decision for his business activity.
The best option for Nova would be taking a bank loan and starting up his business store. Despite the fact that the loan will accrue interest, it will
give Nova an opportunity to make adjustments on his product so that she can have a wide customer base. On the other hand, Nova will work
extra hard to ensure that she will have enough income to meet the needs of his business activity. The only relationship that Nova will have in
terms of the profits that she will earn will be the bank and as long as she pays the monthly installments, she will not have challenges maintaining
the relations. However, the first option offered by Jude Jones offers a promising future for Nova's business operations. Jude Jones has only a few
years to remain in business because she will have to retire (Maynard & Warren, 2014). Well, Nova will have acquired a number of customers who
prefer Jones' products. Nova has to consider the kinds of products offered by Jones in her store and make an analysis on whether they are in the same
line. On the other hand, Jones location will also matter to Nova before making his decision. Some shortcomings may affect Nova's business activity
when in Jones' store such as poor location and having a different form of products offered by Jones.

In this particular situation, from my perspective as the furniture manufacturer, I believe that negotiation would be the best means by which to solve the
problem with the store owner. By using negotiation, the furniture store and my manufacturing business may be able to reconcile and continue dealing
with each other after we have resolved the issue. With negotiation, the tone is not very formal, outside legal counsel is not required, and the parties to
negotiation set their own terms, making it generally more cost effective and efficient than other methods. By comparison, in the case of arbitration or

Therefore, due to the potential harm this holdup may cause, I would offer a formal apology to both the store owner and the store's customers in this
situation. An apology letter may calm the customers down and may keep them motivated to remain on the waiting list. Since apology law protects this
from being seen as an admission of guilt in Ontario, this may help to facilitate reconciliation. Upon negotiating, I would agree to offer some of the
money that will be lost due to the breach of contract while my business seeks out a new supplier. I would also assure that a written contract with the
supplier will be created so that the store owner can be assured that my business is making steps to ensure that an issue such as this one will not occur
again.
It's not likely that the furniture store would be able to fight my business "all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada". The simple fact of the matter
is that in any legal action, there is no inherent right to the Supreme Court. Very few cases are heard by the Supreme Court, and they are often the
ones that deal with very serious injustices, and usually pertain to criminal matters. Thus, the Supreme Court would be very unlikely to hear a breach
of contract case involving two small businesses. As well, a significant proportion of civil cases do not move past the Discovery stage and actually
proceed to trial. When a

Swot Analysis: The SWOT Analysis Of A Business
SWOT analysis is a study made by companies to be able to identify their internal strengths and weaknesses, and also to know their external opportunities

(Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) framework is proposed by many as an analytical tool which should be used to categorize significant

One of the most important external threats is the political and legal threat. Political and legal threats could be local or international. A business can be
affected by any political or legal changes in any country that it has a relation with. As a result, businesses should acquire political skills and be able to

an advantage in the market. "Companies are beginning to recognize the impact of political issues upon international ventures". Weiner (1992).
According to Weiner (1992), political problems may be the result of wars, corruption, bad elections, religious violence, government agencies, or
revolutions. However, the most important external factor that might negatively affect a company is the political instability. McConnell, Brue & Flynn
identify a stable political system as, "stable political system characterized by democratic principles, internal order, the right of property ownership, the

Second Defense Business Analysis

  • 1. Second Defense Business Analysis Hello class! This week we are continuing with our discussion of our chosen paper topics. There is a significant amount of information that needs to be covered this week, so let's get started. First, let me explain how I envision my company being organized. For those of you that don't remember, my company's name is 'Second Defense,' and it's a company that provides helicopter air support to local law enforcement agencies that don't have the manning/money/other resources to operate an air support unit within their department. For Second Defense, I am focusing mostly on the Albuquerque New Mexico area, since it is an area within law enforcement that I am very familiar. My company will be organized into three main branches: Administration, Operations, and Support. The Administration branch is responsible for the overall hierarchy of the company, such as the owner and upper management. Upper management would coordinate between the branches and day to day ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These applications are: enterprise systems, and supply chain systems. First, enterprise systems is necessary because enterprise systems enables the company's resources to be planned. The main resources of Second Defense are materials needed to operate the helicopter. I have no real experience with helicopter maintenance, but from speaking with helicopter crew chiefs I've learned that the entire engine needs to be disassembled and inspected every so many hours of operation. The second application that is needed for my company to function efficiently is supply chain systems. Again, this application is primarily used to ensure that the parts for the helicopter arrive when needed. I see the Administration branch handling all or most of the enterprise applications within Second Defense. Unlike the Administration branch, the Support branch is responsible for the business ... • 2. Business World Class Analysis I am not very smart about the business world, so the main thing I want to learn in this class is the vocabulary that is used in the business world. I feel like If I don't understand the terminology then I wouldn't be able to understand things that happen in the business world. I would have to stop and check what the words mean before continuing my reading or writing. Another thing I would like to take away from this class is the ability to understand what it takes to be a business leader and be able to do the job if the opportunity ever presented itself. The third thing I would like to understand is the different ethics people follow in each countries. Also how different countries work together when their ethics differentiate so much. The ... • 3. Business Analysis: Gecko Hair A SWOT analysis is an excellent tool for gathering information that outlines the businesses strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, for use in the business plan (Chapman S., 2006). Gecko Hair is a small business that values building a friendly atmosphere and relationships with its clients, displaying effective employment relations where the staff are able to communicate efficiently with their clients at a personal level. Also, through offering salon only products that clients have taken a liking to, the business gains a competitive advantage and in turn profit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gecko Hair struggles to return client calls at an appropriate pace, avoid pushy sales clients and has yet to launch their business website. To overcome their weaknesses, the business could set reminders (notes) to call back their clients, ticking it off after they have done so. Also, to avoid pushy sales clients, the staff could continue to speak firm on the fact that they cannot offer the client their request but instead suggest exclusive goods and services at low prices. The business should also consider launching their website so that more clients can reach them online and view their list of services and more. Expanding the store size will allow for more services to be provided and as the business approaches the maturity stage, they could look into relocating to a larger ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before developing Groupon, Andrew Mason formed the collective action based website, The Point. This start–up lead the way to the birth of Groupon. Groupon started as a daily deal website that advertised local businesses. Groupon later went on to offer different types of products, services, and vacation packages. The first Groupon venture ever formed was with the Motel Bar located downstairs from their headquarters in Chicago. The process was to form a list of potential business clients, hire two salespeople to collaborate with the Chicago headquarters, add a writer and a customer service representative, and train them on Groupon protocols. (Sennett 70) During their expansion they decided to start one new city a month. Peter Barris, a venture capitalist and a major contributor to The Point, became impatient with the progress. He wanted them to expand to four cities in a month. This lead Groupon to thirty cities by the end of 2009. Then Groupon began launching ten to fifteen new cities a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Business Analysis : Abercrombie & Fitch Company Consumers are very crucial stakeholders in any profit–making business. However, their value, to the enterprise, depends on the extent of the company's perception of the consumers. The size of the market defines the level of revenues that a company can earn. This plan includes planning components that aid in developing strategies for mitigating risks, and an exploratory component to indicate and identify any vulnerability. In this analysis account, the researcher is going to discuss and subsequently describe methods for establishing components priorities by determining components dependencies and reliance in both business continuity and disaster recovery. The above are the recovery time framework that will assist in calculating the time and form through which a business will evolve before collapsing (Hiles, 2002). To do a business impact analysis, the element of component dependency arises. Components dependencies are the interdependency between the exploratory components and the planning components. With the planning component, the organization will dwell much on the minimizing and mitigating the risks that will lead to business disruption, while the exploratory component will dwell so much on discovering and identification of vulnerable areas within the business. • 10. Business Analysis Introduction The sources of new business ideas come from a variety of places. It could be from a problem that needs to be solved from a consumer, existing knowledge in a business and a vision to improve, or recognizing an alternative use for a new technology. While ideas are plentiful, the ability to bring that idea to fruition, and create a profitable business from it, is much more difficult. Examples The example from chapter 4 was interesting on Elon Musk (Hisrich, Peters, & Shepherd, 2017). His ability to build a business, sell it, then build a bigger business, gives insight that he is more interested in solving large seemingly insurmountable, problems than holding on to a business. Musk is not afraid of big risks. His legacy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Failure can appropriately encourage better choices in the future. His idea generation came in the form of knowing the business he was getting into and combining another business to complement the current venture. Without moving forward in his education and obtaining a job to learn how to dig into financials of a company, he would not have had the opportunity to generate his idea. There is a video that is shown in many continuing education classes on IDEO, which is a company in California that takes an existing product and makes it better. Through observation, industry study, and a variety of other methods, the innovation team that consists of a biologist, psychologist, MBA graduate, and an engineer, among others, generates ideas through problem solving and creative visualizing. They quickly boil down the ideas into something that can be manufactured and meets core requirements of the customer to produce prototypes. They take the best ideas from the prototypes and create the final recommendation. Their structured process to idea creation is fascinating, from a diverse team aspect, as well as efficiency. It seems chaotic at times but repeatedly they have produced products for existing companies such as the new shopping cart at Fresh Market and Whole Foods, shoes that pump up and toothbrushes with varying bristle lengths. There are many options available to start–ups on how they can succeed in the market. With negotiation, the tone is not very formal, outside legal counsel is not required, and the parties to negotiation set their own terms, making it generally more cost effective and efficient than other methods. Since apology law protects this from being seen as an admission of guilt in Ontario, this may help to facilitate reconciliation. Upon negotiating, I would agree to offer some of the money that will be lost due to the breach of contract while my business seeks out a new supplier. I would also assure that a written contract with the supplier will be created so that the store owner can be assured that my business is making steps to ensure that an issue such as this one will not occur again. It's not likely that the furniture store would be able to fight my business "all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada". The simple fact of the matter is that in any legal action, there is no inherent right to the Supreme Court. Very few cases are heard by the Supreme Court, and they are often the ones that deal with very serious injustices, and usually pertain to criminal matters. Thus, the Supreme Court would be very unlikely to hear a breach of contract case involving two small businesses.
