INTRODUCTION:-
• A virtual manufacturing System is the use of computer to model
stimulate and optimize the critical operations and entities in factory.
• It is started as a technique to manufacture and test the machine
tools.
• But has been expanded to accomplish the production process and
products themselves.
WHY VM…………..?
• We have been evaluating the technology or techniques for manufacturing,design of
products.
• We stopped drawing by using pencils in late 1960s only die to the invention of drafting tools
like CAD.
• Now a days more techniques are available from designing of products to manufacturing of
products like CATIA ANSYS Solid works etc…,
• But growing industrial revolution 4.0 needs more advanced system than this like virtual
manufacturing.

 It is an computer interactive generated experience within
certain region of simulation.
 It also involves feed back system.
 This immersive environment system may be real or fanthastic.
Augmented Reality
 Augmented reality (AR) is an interactive experience of a real-
world environment.
 where the objects that reside in the real-world are augmented
by computer generated perceptual information.
 It is recently getting employed in Google maps.
Product Library
 It consists of all the product data that has to be manufactured by the firm.
 It uses VRML software for its products development.
 It gives the data of the product to the designer based on his requirement.

• Design centered
• Production centered
• Control centered
Design centered:-
• It gives data about manufacturing processes to the
engineer’s and designers.
Production centered:-
• It simulates the production process so that they
can be tested and optimized.
Control centered:- • It simulates the controls that are used to run the
actual production process.
PRO’S:-
• It decreases the distance between lab and reality.
• The machining costs and testing costs will be reduced.
• It helps to reduce the mistakes in precision process.
CON’S:-
• It involves installment of new equipment.
• It also requires the high skilled engineer’s to control this
system.
CONCLUSION
• Whatever the technology we are using or developing is just to know the real
situation in lab itself.
• Hence by using this system we can reduce the distance between lab and reality.

INTRODUCTION:- • A virtual manufacturing System is the use of computer to model stimulate and optimize the critical operations and entities in factory. • It is started as a technique to manufacture and test the machine tools. • But has been expanded to accomplish the production process and products themselves.
  • 4. WHY VM…………..? • We have been evaluating the technology or techniques for manufacturing,design of products. • We stopped drawing by using pencils in late 1960s only die to the invention of drafting tools like CAD. • Now a days more techniques are available from designing of products to manufacturing of products like CATIA ANSYS Solid works etc…, • But growing industrial revolution 4.0 needs more advanced system than this like virtual manufacturing.
  • 5. EVOLUTIONOFVM V P L They are the first one’s to develop VR and joron lanier is condidered as father of VR. IT was the first company to manufacture and sell the vr systems commercially. UNITED STATES Defence department became the first organization to implement the virtual manufacturing System. (1989-90) (1960-70) (1990-91)

  • 7. Virtual Reality:-  It is an computer interactive generated experience within certain region of simulation.  It also involves feed back system.  This immersive environment system may be real or fanthastic.
  • 8. Augmented Reality  Augmented reality (AR) is an interactive experience of a real- world environment.  where the objects that reside in the real-world are augmented by computer generated perceptual information.  It is recently getting employed in Google maps.
  • 9. Product Library  It consists of all the product data that has to be manufactured by the firm.  It uses VRML software for its products development.  It gives the data of the product to the designer based on his requirement.

  • 13. Design centered:- • It gives data about manufacturing processes to the engineer’s and designers. Production centered:- • It simulates the production process so that they can be tested and optimized. Control centered:- • It simulates the controls that are used to run the actual production process.
  • 14. PRO’S:- • It decreases the distance between lab and reality. • The machining costs and testing costs will be reduced. • It helps to reduce the mistakes in precision process. CON’S:- • It involves installment of new equipment. • It also requires the high skilled engineer’s to control this system.
  • 15. CONCLUSION • Whatever the technology we are using or developing is just to know the real situation in lab itself. • Hence by using this system we can reduce the distance between lab and reality.
