Group projects reveal a person's true characteristics. There are slackers who manage to slap their name on projects without actually lifting a finger,

First starting this class I didn't know what exactly what I wanted to do with a career. I was between two careers trying to figure out what would be
best for me. The CIT career would be nice to learn something entirely new and at the same time tie it in with business some how. The problem I was

Concrete Experience I knew that management was something I was mentally programed for from a young age. May of 2000 was the summer going
into my sophomore year of high school and I was venturing into my first tax–paying job at Sonic. I liked the structure it had, compared to the odd
summer jobs I had been picking up in the past. From the ripe age of 16, I had already began the process of evaluating personnel, process's for
improvements, and trying to create a safer work environment for myself and those around me. With the start of my senior year quickly approaching, I
was already balancing sports, grades, college applications, and now my employer was asking me to step up from a shift leader to assistant manager. I
always had the thoughts, if I were the manager I would do this or I would do that. The same thoughts everyone else was having, except I wasn't saying
unrealistic comments like; we would have two–hour lunches and I wouldn't make anyone work Friday nights. I was looking at how personnel were
used and how their strengths were not being maximized. I was critiquing the processes that had been in place well before I came around, that had never
been questioned. I was young and had big plans for my future that didn't include anything to do with management. At the time, I never knew I was
starting to develop skill sets that would help me reach goals in my current career. My first year of college was cut short with my desire to join the

If not for Trisha Brown the current modern genre would be very different from how it is today. Trisha Brown was essentially a revolutionary modern
choreographer. Trisha Brown's movements were finding the extraordinary in everyday life. They began challenging the existing perceptions of what is
considered performance. Trisha Brown's style as well as the concepts that it produced were severely influential to modern dance then, as well as now.
Trisha Brown graduated from Mills College, which is in California, she then began to teach at Reed College which is in Portland, Oregon. Then in
1961 she moved to New York and in 1970 Trisha Brown began revolutionizing the dance world, specifically the modern genre. In 1968 Trisha Brown
created a piece called Falling Duets. Unfortunately I was unable to find any videos of the work. However there was a description of the work on Trisha
Brown's website and there were any "recreations" of her work. The piece is one big excellent example of weight sharing and it is quite the
physical representation of trust between two people. The other work that I planned to study was called The Stream. Now I was also unable to find
a video as this piece involved members of the public, although, I was able to find an in depth description of the piece. There was a large "U" shaped
wooden structure filled with pots and pans that were full of water and the people passing were encouraged to walk through it. Some chose to walk
straight through the water, others chose to avoid the water. It sounds like something that would have been amazing to watch as it took place in 1970.
I studied four more works by Trisha Brown: Watermotor, I'm Going to Toss My Arms
– if You Catch Them They're Yours, Set and Reset, and If You
Couldn't See Me. The first of these Trisha Brown works that I studied as Watermotor. This was a very fluid, water
–like piece. All of the movements fit
and flowed together nothing was choppy. It almost seemed like maybe she repeated the same movements but they were just different enough that they

In my understanding satisfaction and joy are two different elements, satisfaction is obtained through hard work, and joy is considered as more and

For this project it was decided by the group to use a flat management structure, and to follow a system akin to free development. This method meant
that none of the group was the project manager and instead the thing keeping people on track was their self–motivation to complete the project. To aid
with completing the project at the start of the project a list of work was set out from the requirements, and then each member of the group picked the

Another problem is that this method requires everyone to have high motivation if they want to complete the project to a high standard and a as the
group is small a few unmotivated people can bring the whole project down. The group did have motivation problems during the middle of the project

the start allowing people to focus on one thing at a time and seeing the list of work get smaller.
A problem with using this flat management with free development is that there are not a lot of examples to follow with many companies using agile. It

Look at your to–do list. First, note the things that are important for you to do. Immediately put them in your schedule to get done today or this week.
No excuses. They are important. You need to do them.
Now, go through your list and identify things that need to get done but could be completed just as well, or better, by someone else. Highlight these
with blue. This could be cleaning house, yard work, booking appointments and book keeping.
Who can you hire to do some of these tasks? Put it into your calendar to hire someone to do those tasks. Consider what it costs to hire something out.

"Real Work" by Richard Rodriguez is about a young man struggling with self–confidence. He seeks to build his self–esteem by participating in real
manual labor over a summer job. When Rodriguez is offered a job working on a construction site he doesn't hesitate to say yes. His father had
always told him he could never understand the hardships of "Real work', and Rodriguez felt that completing this summer job would make his father
proud of him, and in many ways consider him to be a "Real man". Richard Rodriguez was raised in America, unlike his family. He never really knew

The father figure depicted in this story could be viewed in a few different ways. At first I thought the authors father was kind of a stuck up, rude
man, who was sour about the advantages of living a normal life in American society. I felt that he had made his son feel like he could never do what
he had down. If a parental figure makes you feel like that, there tends to be a reaction. It could be positive or negative. In Rodriguez's case he took
what his father said, and harnessed it into a positive learning experience. When I thought about more in depth, it became clear that Rodriguez's father
wasn't putting his son down at all. He was simply explaining to his son how different their worlds where. He was stressing that although his son had
more opportunity, and was presented with much greater potential to be excellent, that the work he did growing up was much harder, and tough than
most people realize. His father was just making it known that in his working years he did not have many options as to career choices. But on the
other hand I can easily see why the author felt that his father had challenged him. Much like I felt my father was challenging me. Rodriguez felt like
he needed to prove that he could perform the same task that his fathers use to do to provide for their families. Working with you're your hands,
completing messy, strenuous, sometimes painful jobs was almost a part of Hispanic culture. A part of
