My Group Project Analysis
Group projects reveal a person's true characteristics. There are slackers who manage to slap their name on projects without actually lifting a finger,
chatterboxes who slow down productivity because they'd rather spill the latest gossip and, of course, misanthropes who assist with minimum
efforts. I, however, have always been the heart and soul of group projects. For me, mapping out a plan while the assignment is still being described
has become second nature. I schedule meetings, take notes, finalize drafts, encourage my teammates and by the end of the deadline, I usually find
myself involved in every aspect of the project. I have managed all of my group projects because I am organized, detailed and assertive. Some might
say I am a perfectionist, other's might describe me with cruder words, but I consider myself a great M.F.A. candidate for the University of California
Los Angeles' Producers Program.
While attending the University of Florida (UF), I took classes that focused on all aspects of television production. Such as: the laws and regulations of
television and new media, ethics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have the drive, will power, and passion to produce. I am constantly writing from experiences and tweaking my potential television series elevator
pitch. I moved to California for opportunities in Los Angeles. Specifically after learning about the Producers Program and touring UCLA's beautiful
campus, I wanted to jump in as soon as possible to further my education, gain fundamental experiences and knowledge to green light my career in
producing. UCLA's impeccable facility, technology, and reputation are the best, by far, with a fantastic location to step into the entertainment field. I

The At The End Of The Day
Well, you certainly came off as being a nice guy. And now your audience has been widened thanks to your Hallmark fans. Oh absolutely. I hope so.
That 's the goal at the end of the day. I just hope people like my work, and if they can relate to it, that 's great. I do have to say I get recognized from
Cedar Cove. And the fans have been great. From flight attendants and obviously when I travel, you start meeting people. The people where I live in
Vancouver in LA know me as an actor, so they usually know what show I 've been on. Hopefully I get to work on another Hallmark show one of
these days. Well, that 's what people were asking about. They definitely want to see you in another Hallmark show or film. So you do have fans that
would like to see that happen. Oh, that 's great to hear. It 's always nice to see that the Hallmark fans know you by name, they remember you, and they
like you. Oh good. Phew! (laughs) darkmatter_gallery_201funfacts_01.jpgYou mentioned Dark Matter. I started watching last season because of Roger
Cross––I am a First Wave fan. And then it was something to see you get added to the cast. So how did you end up joining the cast of Dark Matter?
Basically, they had been talking to me about that show for years––the producers Jo Mallozzi and Paul Mullie. I 've known about the project for a long
time before it started. And it got pushed for awhile. And then eventually they asked me if I would be interested in playing the role, and I was. So I
said, "Let

Computer Interaction Has Changed Within The Economy
Within recent years human computer interaction has changed within the economy I will discuss three factors which interlink with this. These are
increased automation, productivity and varied working environments.
Increased automation
oBank
Firstly you have increased automation within a banking environment you now have three main ways of banking. 1. Online 2. Telephone Banking 3.
Branch most major banks have introduced productive ways of banking to suit economy. Know two individuals bank the same everyone likes something
different you will find that generation will fuel the channel in which and individual will decide to bank.
By introducing online and telephone banking economy have no necessary need to go into their local branch and due ... Show more content on

This is a prime example of how changes within the economy are effecting those who work for the banks and also customers of the bank.
It could be argued that making changes can help economy as more avenues have been introduced giving customers more choice. This allows for any
customer who works antisocial hours take control of their banking, it allows for every customer to be treated fairly as everyone has the same
opportunities with their banking. For example savings account online normally have a higher interest rate to those offered in branch these accounts are
optional for every customer however you need to bank online to manage the account therefore you automatically introducing yourself to a new avenue
of banking.
It could be argued that making changes is harming the economy as manual labour is taking a cut therefore more individuals are unemployed. More
unemployment puts a strain on the government this would then be costing the government.
Increased automation
oretail (Inc. stock levels/reordering)
Within the retail environment there has also been many changes which have had a knock on effect with the economy. The two many factors which
need to be consider would be stock levels and reordering of stock.
So for reordering stock and checking stock levels you can invest in an accounting software which will check your stock levels on a regular bases
allowing for less labouring staff to be

The Hrm Function Of Job Analysis
Executive Summary
This essay is basically focused on the telecommunication company Telstra's business objective, which was set up by the CEO Solomon Trujillo of
downsizing 10,000 non–core and redundant jobs roles.
Furthermore, by the integrated HRM functions which are job analysis, job design, compensation management & industrial relations, the objective was
achieved by the CEO of the company by the end of the year 2008. During his tenure he achieved the target, although the market value & the share
price of the company was 25% lower than the previous years.
Introduction
It is the objective of this essay to critically analyze how four HRM strategies are integrated to enable Telstra to downsize 10,000 jobs.
Firstly, this essay will critically analyze how the HRM function of job analysis is integrated to assist to identify duplicated job roles to be targeted
for downsizing. The purpose of this paragraph is to critically discuss how the HRM function of job analysis is used by the HR department of Telstra to
identify the duplicated job roles & responsibilities after the appointment of its CEO Solomon Trujillo during the year 2004–2008. De Cieri (2007)
highlights that work dissection has concentrated on breaking down the current employments to accumulate data for other human asset administration
practices, for example, choice, worker improvement, performance management and compensation. Job analysis occurs by designing & administering a

The Importance Of Team Dynamics And Communication
Throughout my semester in SciTech, perhaps the most important thing that I took away from my experience was the importance of team dynamics and
communication in collaborative projects, and this is particularly true in engineering fields, where it is absolutely essential to success, and, in my
opinion, significantly more important than the skill of knowledge of individual team members after a certain point. Every team that I was part of
during SciTech, the team for the semester challenge especially, had numerous issues in cooperation and communication, and conflict repeatedly arises,
though we eventually learned how best to function together and were able to successfully complete the challenge before D4 with a significant amount
of time to spare, though we did have some issues with time management in regard to the Final Report later. I have found that, although relevant skills
to the task at hand, proficiency with SolidWorks or a general aptitude for mechanical engineering for example, organizational abilities, or other things
of that nature, these are effectively useless without a developer work ethic, a willingness to accept feedback and learn, the ability to effectively
resolve disputes, and good communication, all of which are immensely valuable in a collaborative setting. For example, one of my group members
spent more than a week on the quantitative analysis section of the FDR, but I ended up having to redo large portions of it anyway (logbook 3/23), which

1.Please give examples that indicate your ability to function effectively, as a productive member of a team working towards a common objective.
Discuss your role and contribution to those teams.
Throughout my life, I have frequently been a part of a team. Whether it was in an athletic, academic, or employment sense, I have learned many life
lessons and values solely because I was a part of these teams. Growing up, I was involved in countless team–based sports in which I had a number of
roles. There were times when I had to step up and lead, and times where I had to learn to take a step back and follow. I learned that I was only a small

Another team experience came during my first year of undergraduate studies. In this experience, I had the opportunity to work for Texas Tech under
one of my professors. The task that I was assigned with was to help with the transition of one online class system to another. Overall, there was a lot
of work that had to be done in order to meet the specified deadlines. Personally, I was put in charge of creating two classes in the new format of
Blackboard that the university was planning to switch to. With all of the work that had to be done for each class, the professor made specific students
in charge of certain classes and then gave each person in charge a team of other students to help the leader with the class. As a team leader, I was
responsible for delegating certain objectives out to the rest of the team, while also performing my own tasks. Each task had a concrete deadline to
meet and it was crucial that I meet all set deadlines if I expected the rest of my team to meet their deadlines. This helped to hold everyone
accountable because if one member of the team slacked, then it gave a bad look to the team as a whole. Furthermore, we had a peer review system

Orientation Questionnaire For Sports Psychology
I recently took a Work Orientation Questionnaire for Sport Psychology. I scored highest on the work orientation, but I decided to research and talk
about mastery orientation. Even though mastery orientation was the lowest score of the three, I feel like I can relate a little bit more by viewing
the questions being asked within the Questionnaire. Readers, I am not disagreeing with the results of the quiz; however, I am expanding on an area
that personally fits me better. This is for people who are focused on developing and progressing skills, but also for gaining additional knowledge. If
readers are looking for a more descripted definition, it's best defined as using the goal of learning and mastering the task according to standards set by
you. Students find approval with the work and are not conflicted by external factors. These students also tend to participate in work or activities that
increase their learning, which involves more attention, collecting information at a higher level, and are open to asking questions.
I plan on being a basketball coach at the junior high or high school level. I want to talk to the readers about mastery orientation within sport
performance. Most players, regardless of sport, are ego–orientated people due to the theme of winning or success. Before I continue, I am not
suggesting that I prefer all my players to be just mastery oriented. I believe a positive ego oriented athlete can reflect positively and help with the
mastery oriented part.

Personal Trainer Certified Through The National Strength...
A particular stressful situation that occurred within the last year was my unrealistic goal to become Personal Trainer certified through the National
Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in three–months (over the summer). What made this goal difficult was the fact that it took me a long
time each day to finally sit down before my book to study, there were days I had to take care of my grandma in place of her other caregiver, spending
too much time at the gym, wasting time on the computer, wasting time on my phone and on social media, and consecutive days where I pushed
studying off. All of these points really made focusing on studying hard. Each day my intentions were to get to work and work hard, but just the thought
of being in the action of studying repelled me from sitting down and doing so. In all honesty, some days were easier than others, but the majority
weren't as so. To add to all of this, I had the pressure of the promise I'd made to so many people of being certified before starting this last semester of
college. Given this goal I had for myself, and knowing that getting focused on the work each day wouldn't be easy, I had a select few hold me
accountable for getting my studying done. The support systems I had in place were my mom, girlfriend at the time, and my dentist, who I was training
at night, five–days a week. My mom was definitely the one who was on my case the most about how much I'd gotten done each day–she'd ask every
day after work. She was

The Four Styles Of Learning By Honey And Mumford
Learning is the art of gaining skills, preference, information, ethics, behavior and can engage one in grasping different kind of information. There are
many styles of learning, as we being college students we can have many learning styles. According to Honey and Mumford there are four major styles of
learning as follows Activists, Reflectors, Theorists and Pragmatists.
Activists are the people who a re risk takers and they like experimenting new things and doing the work based on trial and error method. For instance
when a student learns a new chemical formula in a chemistry class, he would be more enthusiastic to do the experiment at home and see what the
result is. He would take the risk to do the experiment at home irrespective of what the result of it was to be due to curiosity, and the will to understand

Managing time is the most important factor in a student's life. Prioritizing your work is the most important thing, we must decide to do what and a
given time and take decision based on the workload that we have. For example, family issues, hanging out with friends, studying for an exam and
taking rest. We have been taught from the time we were kids on ways to learn and how do we do it, but we what we learn by ourselves is how he
should be learning and what kind of a personality he has. This will impact me in my studies as I would understand what type of a learner and what
learning style is confortable to me. My learning style is that of an activists and I love taking risk irrespective of the results. I usually like to learn by
looking at visuals and by hearing. Discovering these new learning styles about myself I now can study properly and more effectively. This will not

Reflection On Professionalism
Being a professional is more than wearing fancy suites, and speaking with complex linguistics. Professionalism is described as conduct or qualities
that are foreseen as professional. Professionalism can be taught by a person or learned from experiences. For me, personally, I will reflect on my
ethical and personal professionalism and the innate journey it has taken me thus far.
Let's begin from the being of my endeavors in the professional realm. I first learned how to be a professional from an early age from my mother. She
bestowed the wisdom of professionalism and modeled how professional women should represent themselves. I would say that my mother gave me the
foundation and frame work on how to represent yourself as a professional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In maintaining the idea that the field of counseling and helping others is an active duty for participants involved. This profession I see as fit has and
forever will change my life and who I am as a person. I feel that this profession will also challenge me more than ever before.
As a professional I am asked to put my moral, personal views and cultural entity on hold for the greater good, while being self–aware. I believe my
self–acceptance will favor me in my profession. Yet my comfort, loyalty, conscious moral will be tested beyond measurable expectations. In addition
being fully aware of these possibilities I am still as passionate if not more about the profession.
Another, facet is that being part of the field of counseling, I must abide by ethical standards. These ethical standards are very black and white, but I
use these very cut and dry standards to cater to an intense colorful multitude of situations. Gasping the concept of the ethical standards being a
foundational source for me is a challenges the uncertainty of clients I may face. The profession of counseling will give me insight on how and what I
can handle. The experience I intend to gain will test my limits in which I prefer versus not experiencing the situations happen first hand. I sense that this

Case: Amalgamated Laboratories Essay
This case study describes what happens when a health district merges four laboratories into one unit due to external driving forces for change, primarily
the government funding cuts. Although the intention was to develop one centralized, efficient, and high volume centre, the inattention to the 'people
issues' and the cultural differences of the work units results in chaos. The recently hired laboratory manager, Claude, has implemented several stopgap
measures intended to address the work load issues resulting from high turnover levels and sick leave usage. However, these measures do not improve
the morale and performance problems of the laboratory. Time is running out for Claude as his supervisor gives him an ultimatum to 'clean house...

Not only did this provide them with a sense of family and connection, but it also provided them with a tacitly agreed upon way of working with each
other. The new system separated employees from their work group and completely disrupted the established work process. Thus, whereas the previous
system felt like 'home' to employees, the new system felt like 'hell.' Compounding this problem was the wide gap in the cultures of the work units as
they had been previously structured and the attempts by employees to maintain their allegiances with their 'like–minded' former coworkers, at the
expense of finding an effective means of building relationships with their new coworkers. The manager, an outsider, appeared to have little appreciation
of these interpersonal dynamics. Your analysis of thiscase study should illustrate a number of concepts. For example, you can apply Lewin's force

you can use change management strategies in this case study to illustrate the mechanisms for introducing change in a well established system. Had

their customers, then the restructuring may have been more

The Relationship between Academic Obstacles and Facilitators
University students make up a large population in most countries and may be the most important individual's part of a society; as they constitute of
future professionals and degree obtainers. The life of a student is very different to other age groups and may prove to be extremely stressful and
pressurised as the importance to having a profession, especially in South Africa, is heightened because of financial pressure and recessions. It has been
argued and researched that the well–being of a student is important for their academic performance, therefore their health needs to be taken into
context and maintained to ensure peak performance. The purpose of this essay is to assess the relationship between academic obstacles and
facilitators and how they hinder or promote academic performance, as well as how it may affect the well–being of the student.
When students are going through a stressful period in their studies, such as exam time or when assignments are due, they often feel exhausted and
sometimes unable to manage their time properly in order to get their work done on time, or simply not being able to cope with the nature of the work. It
is argued that students who are experiencing emotional exhaustion will perform poorly in their studies (Salanova, Schaufeli, Martinez & Breso, 2008).
This is because students who feel exhausted will experience feelings of demotivation, irritability, detachment and cynicism towards their work. While
those who have positive feelings

The Influential works of Andre Antoine
The dramatic arts, that originated from the Greeks, has changed drastically into the theatre that is known today. Many people contributed to this
metamorphosis and aided in bringing the technical, emotional, and physical art form to life. Theatre should depict a real part of life for the audience.
This is the goal that Andre Antoine had set for himself. His view on a realistictheatre brought modern naturalism to life and continues to be seen in
the work of modern day directors. Antoine was alive from 1858 to 1943 in France. France was drawn to street performers and plays with a moral
lesson and political context. The plays of the time would deliver a message to the audience, but the actors would never move around or show any real
emotion. This however also went in the other direction and displayed productions of melodrama. Antoine was all about getting a story across even if it
was political, but seeing actors stand stiff and deliver lines or overact was something he thought was unprofessional. Antoine firmly believed in making
theatre as realistic as possible in every way.
Antoine knew that he needed to bring his ideas to life and to the stage. He tried to get the director of a previous theatre group he had worked for at
the time, to direct a novel by Emile Zola, but he was repeatedly turned away. This only fueled him into going further with his ideas. As a result, in 1887
he founded Theatre–Libre. His theatre was a showcase for naturalistic playwrights such as:

The And Talent Retention Is Happiness And Workplace...
In any work environment, it is important for all levels of management, including executives and owners, to consider the working environments for those
within the organization or company. The unofficial secret to longevity and talent retention is happiness and workplace satisfaction. There are many
ways for organizational leaders to promote happy, healthy working environments; the trick is finding the right combination that works for their
particular group of workers and their particular work environment. Different methods work for different industries and people so it is a matter of
trial and error to find the right fit. There are employment laws in place to ensure fair work practices occur however, employers should go the extra
mile to take care of those who make their business succeed. According to the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (2009), "responsibility rests
with each employer to provide and promote a good and harmonious working environment" (p. 3). Making sure workers are happy can only have
positive effects for the company but it is a multistep process that requires commitment from ever manager involved. Coming up with ways to increase
worker satisfaction is only part of the work; implementing these policies and making it come to life is the challenge and the greatest responsibility. For
example, employers creating a diverse environment can lessen feelings of discrimination. Any opportunity to represent the workers' best interest will

To be an effective society, itЕ› important to have a few key qualities such as teamwork or cooperation and order. These make achieving goals much
easier, and in the end, it leads to success by completing the tasks needed to get towards the goal, whether that be obtaining food or conquering an entire
continent. In Golding 's Lord of the Flies, a lack of mutual respect between the leaders and followers as well as the failure to unite themselves to work
together for the same goals, resulted in chaos, and ultimately, the division and failure of their society on the island. Without respect in their society, a

then you go off hunting and let out the fire [...] This job was too much. We needed everyone. [...] You could have had everyone when the shelters were

of a society. Ralph was their leader, but not only did people not listen to him, they also didn't do what he told them to do. Without enough followers
listening to him, they were unable to keep the fire going, Ralph's main goal which could've helped bring rescue to them. It was much more difficult, and
the boys were unable to efficiently and effectively work to accomplish their goal, the main event that lead to the group fights. Since Jack and some
other boys didn't listen to their leader, they not only hurt their chances of rescue and survival, but split the group, turning friends into enemies which
lead to multiple unnecessary and unwarranted deaths on the island. Ralph was too friendly, and the boys betrayed him, but they didn't openly betray

Kouzes and Barry Posner (2014) the different practices of leadership were: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable
Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart. These principles each have their own challenges and frustrations, and as a leader they have helped me realize
what I can improve on. Modeling the Way was one of my top two practices that I had ranked high on during the skills inventory, and its focus is on

accomplishments or how people worked through hard situations. These debriefings brought everyone together and created a spirit of community,
which is one way the book focused in encouraging the Heart (Kouzes & Posner, 2014). Another skill that was something a truly focused on during the

A Discussion Of Herodotus And Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca
It's a New World
(A discussion of Herodotus, Cabeza de Vaca and their explorations)
When you stumble upon something new, what's your first instinct? Sharing the information with others, soaking in the sight you're seeing, or even
trying to document everything that is in front of you. The discovery of new land, people, and their way of life is one for the record books. An event
like this will go down in history, and so will the person that did the discovering. This was the case for Herodotus and Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca.
Herodotus was born in Halicarnassus, what today is known as turkey. He is considered by most to have been the first Greek historian, therefore the
first European historian. He was a great traveler, visiting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Pedestrian of North and South America, briefly describes some of the whereabouts of Cabeza de Vaca as he traveled around America. "All five rafts

castaways decided to escape their Indian captors and marched south and west hoping to find their Spanish compatriots in central Mexico," (ГЃlvar

did traveling, just as Herodotus did. Both men were also known for their firsts. Cabeza de Vaca was one of the first to visit America and stay with
the tribes that inhabited land. Also one of the first from his country to document what he had seen while there. Herodotus was also known for his

The Rhetorical Situation Summary
In his article, "The Rhetorical Situation," Lloyd Bitzer defines and elaborates on rhetorical situation. He writes, "Rhetorical situation may be defined as
a complex of persons, events, objects, and relations presenting an actual or potential exigence which can be completely or partially remove if discourse,
introduced into the situation, can so constrain human decision or action as to bring about the significant modification of the exigence" (6). To put it
simply, a rhetorical situation is some response to a certain situation (Bitzer 3). Bitzer also explains that there are three parts to any rhetorical situation:
the exigence, the audience, and the constraints. These three components exist before any discourse is created or presented (6.)
On July 27th, 2016, Avalonlifeguard Emily Blake sent a message to the other members of the Avalon staff, informing them that she could not work her
assigned shift due to other commitments that she needed to attend to. Following Bitzer's definition, Emily's message in response to this complication is
a response to a rhetorical situation. When composing her response, Emily had the choice of what method of communication she would use and with who
she would communicate. Because of the decisions she made regarding these two matters, Emily's response to the rhetorical situation was an ... Show

T.S. Eliot's "The Waste Land"– The Most Influential Work in Modern Literature
T.S. Eliot's "The Waste Land" is considered by many to be the most influential work in modern literature. First published in 1922, it captures the
feelings and sentiments of modern culture after World War I. Line thirty of "The Waste Land," "I will show you fear in a handful of dust," is often
viewed as a symbol of mankind's fear of death and resulting love of life. Eliot's masterpiece–with its revolutionary ideas–inspired writers of his era, and
it continues to affect writers even today.
In the first two lines of "The Waste Land," Eliot says, "April is the cruellest month, breeding/Lilacs out of the dead land" (l. 1–2). Eliot shows the

Not everyone appreciates life after suffering the death of someone close to him. After the death of Mary, Ade is forced to leave the mission. A few
weeks later, Santigie must also return home after the death of his father, Chief Bombolai. The "Brothers Three," seemingly separated forever, are not
appreciating life more than they did before. Each boy is dead to the others; none of them believe they will ever see each other again. After several
months, however, the "Brothers Three" are reunited. They promise to always stay together, and each boy has an optimisticoutlook on life again.
Eliot's own pessimism toward life amid the destruction of World War I is evident throughout most of the poem. He uses many dark images to
suggest death and brokenness, but Eliot contrasts those depictions with pictures of life and energy. In the second stanza of section one, Eliot vividly
describes a desert wasteland. A few lines later in the same stanza, he depicts a young "hyacinth girl" (l. 37) and a lush garden full of flowers. These
two contrasting images of life and death are mirrored in the final pages of No Past No Present No Future. Ade and Bodil move Denmark after their
engagement. A few days before the wedding, Bodil receives a letter informing her of Ade's affair with another woman. Throughout their relationship
leading up to this point, Bodil has stuck by Ade's side and been his life support; without her, things would

My Career As A Career
First starting this class I didn't know what exactly what I wanted to do with a career. I was between two careers trying to figure out what would be
best for me. The CIT career would be nice to learn something entirely new and at the same time tie it in with business some how. The problem I was
having is trying to figure out what I was going to do with it. Doing the first set of activities in this class allowed me to learn what I really wanted in a
job and what I can do with out. My career must allow me freedom to choose what I want to do to be able to create what I want. My career must allow
me to choose my own hours. Don't get me wrong that I will only work a little because I am going to put in hours around the clock. What I mean
with flexible hours is that if something comes up I will be able to work around it. It must also allow me to show leadership and call shot. Things
that aren't so important but still hold value is that my job should allow me not to work on Sunday. If I have to once in a while because there is no
way around it, that is understandable. My job should allow me to come home for dinner most nights and be with my family. It could be not stressful
but I deal with stress good and don't mind it. It could also be not dealing with so many angry people but I can handle them pretty will. The first option
that I choose for my career list is computer–networking architect. This option really interested me because for my needs of a job it really fulfills the

Barbara Kruger : Art History Archive
According to the Art History Archive, Barbara Kruger is an American conceptual artist born in Newark, New Jersey in 1945. She attended
Syracuse University in 1964 where her interests in graphic design, poetry, and writing developed. A year later, Kruger moved to New York and
attended Parsons School of Design where she was exposed to the creative spheres of photography, fashion, and editorial design. In 1966, she left
Parsons to work for CondГ© Nast Publications and soon after began to work at Mademoiselle magazine where she was promoted to head designer.
Throughout her professional career, Kruger worked as a graphic designer, art director, and picture editor for various publications including House and

The red text box is the focal point of the work and takes up about one–fourth of the composition.
Barbara Kruger's Untitled (I Shop Therefore I Am) is a visually simple but bold work that evokes postmodern themes including media, popular culture,
and consumer cultures. The daring and aggressive red text box draws the viewer's eye directly to the bold phrase in white font. "Kruger reformulated
RenГ© Descartes' philosophical proposition of cognitive existence, 'I think therefore I am', into a motto for the hyper–ventilated acquisitive world of
the 1980s boom time..." (Engberg). Descartes' theory implies that as long as an individual is simply thinking there is an active engagement that is
occurring that justifies a meaningful existence. Thus, thinking gives substance to an individual's life. By replacing the word "think" with the word
"shop" Kruger is making a social commentary on society's shift from cognitive value to material value and exposes the tie between consumer culture
and personal identity. We are no longer defined by what we think but by what we buy; as a result, our culture has become so overwhelmed with
materialism that people have become more reliant on the products that they buy and the materials that they own to define who they are. The contrasting
themes of intellectual value versus material value in Kruger's work instigates the viewer to

Media Violence
"Children are among the greatest of imitatorsВ…" The debate over media violence has eluded definitive answers for more then three decades. At
first glance, the debate is dominated by one question. Whether or not media violence causes real life violence and whether or not it has a negative
effect of the modern day Canadian family. Closer examination reveals a political battle. On one hand, there are those who blame media violence for
societal violence and want to censor violent content to protect our children. On the other hand, there are those who see regulation as a slippery slope
to censorship or a smoke screen hiding the basic causes of violence in society. One thing is certain: the issue of media violence is not going away....

Violence has always played a role in Television. But there's a growing concern that, in recent years, something about media violence has changed.
Laval University professors Guy Paquette and Jacques de Guise studied six major Canadian television networks over a seven–year period, examining
films, situation comedies, dramatic series, and children's programming. The study found that between 1993 and 2001, incidents of physical
violence increased by 378 per cent. TV shows in 2001 averaged 40 acts of violence per hour (Public Health Agency, 2003). Throughout the cycle
of life we imitate others in order to learn new thing and to reinforce our identity within a particular group. The following are stories of children
imitating characters from television with tragic results; A five year old boy sets his home on fire, killing his two year old sister following a Beavis
and Butthead episode. The boy's mother describes him as "addicted to Beavis and Butthead," two cartoon characters who enjoy setting fire and other
antisocial acts. An adolescent boy was killed by a

In her report dated 23 December 2016, Dr Roesler diagnosed the worker with adjustment disorder with depressed mood and secondary insomnia. In
support of this diagnosis she referred to the worker's presentation and complaints of trouble sleeping and stress at work that she considered an
aggravating factor.
Dr Roesler stated that while the symptoms were consistent with the original injury, the pain and disability associated with the back strain was

She noted being concerned by 'influential' relatives at the consultations, and that limited English renders a conversation more difficult.
Dr Roesler considered the workplace to be a major contributor, although she stated that it was not solely responsible for his current condition. She cited

What I Learned About Management
Concrete Experience I knew that management was something I was mentally programed for from a young age. May of 2000 was the summer going
into my sophomore year of high school and I was venturing into my first tax–paying job at Sonic. I liked the structure it had, compared to the odd
summer jobs I had been picking up in the past. From the ripe age of 16, I had already began the process of evaluating personnel, process's for
improvements, and trying to create a safer work environment for myself and those around me. With the start of my senior year quickly approaching, I
was already balancing sports, grades, college applications, and now my employer was asking me to step up from a shift leader to assistant manager. I
always had the thoughts, if I were the manager I would do this or I would do that. The same thoughts everyone else was having, except I wasn't saying
unrealistic comments like; we would have two–hour lunches and I wouldn't make anyone work Friday nights. I was looking at how personnel were
used and how their strengths were not being maximized. I was critiquing the processes that had been in place well before I came around, that had never
been questioned. I was young and had big plans for my future that didn't include anything to do with management. At the time, I never knew I was
starting to develop skill sets that would help me reach goals in my current career. My first year of college was cut short with my desire to join the
United States Army. All

Core Values Of My Life
Friedman reading lists many core values, but the ones that are most important to me and have influenced me the most include: Physical Fitness,
Creativity, Enjoyment, and Family. Physical fitness means, staying in shape through physical activity and healthy nutrition. This has always been a big
part of my life. In my childhood I incorporated physical activity through different activities my mother would sign me up for such as, swimming, roller
staking, and dancing. As I got older my main physical activity was dance, I grew to love it and it helped me stay in shape. Along, with this though I
always tried to eat a healthy diet because my family has a history of high blood pressure. Being physically fit influenced me to make healthy choices
and break away from my family's history of health problems. It also, lead me to healthier eating choices now and more physical activity through other
sports such as kickboxing which also builds disciple leading to a more organized lifestyle and doing better in school because of it.
Furthermore, physical fitness led to creativity, which is another major influence in my life. Creativity according to Friedman is discovering,
developing, or designing new ideas or things; demonstrating imagination. As I mentioned previously, physical fitness has been a big part of my
life, most of all this consisted dance. My mother's love for dance was passed on to me and through this I learned creativity. I have been dancing for
almost fourteen years and I have picked up many different techniques. Being a dancer involves a lot of creativity because you need to be able to
learn new styles and create your own dances using these styles. My creativity in dance followed through to the classrooms I've sat in. It has allowed
me to think outside of the box and get creative with class projects and with work. Often times my friends come to me when they want new idea's or a
different view on projects they are working on and it feels great that I am able to help them. Another value that has greatly impacted my life is
enjoyment. Enjoyment is fun, joy, and laughter. Without this my life would dull and unfulfilled. My friends bring me enjoyment every day. It keeps
me happy and wanting to learn and do new

Analysis Of Trisha Brown
If not for Trisha Brown the current modern genre would be very different from how it is today. Trisha Brown was essentially a revolutionary modern
choreographer. Trisha Brown's movements were finding the extraordinary in everyday life. They began challenging the existing perceptions of what is
considered performance. Trisha Brown's style as well as the concepts that it produced were severely influential to modern dance then, as well as now.
Trisha Brown graduated from Mills College, which is in California, she then began to teach at Reed College which is in Portland, Oregon. Then in
1961 she moved to New York and in 1970 Trisha Brown began revolutionizing the dance world, specifically the modern genre. In 1968 Trisha Brown
created a piece called Falling Duets. Unfortunately I was unable to find any videos of the work. However there was a description of the work on Trisha
Brown's website and there were any "recreations" of her work. The piece is one big excellent example of weight sharing and it is quite the
physical representation of trust between two people. The other work that I planned to study was called The Stream. Now I was also unable to find
a video as this piece involved members of the public, although, I was able to find an in depth description of the piece. There was a large "U" shaped
wooden structure filled with pots and pans that were full of water and the people passing were encouraged to walk through it. Some chose to walk
straight through the water, others chose to avoid the water. It sounds like something that would have been amazing to watch as it took place in 1970.
I studied four more works by Trisha Brown: Watermotor, I'm Going to Toss My Arms
– if You Catch Them They're Yours, Set and Reset, and If You
Couldn't See Me. The first of these Trisha Brown works that I studied as Watermotor. This was a very fluid, water
–like piece. All of the movements fit
and flowed together nothing was choppy. It almost seemed like maybe she repeated the same movements but they were just different enough that they
were not exactly the same. This piece was created in 1978 which was just a few years after Trisha Brown created her piece known as The Stream. It
seems to me as though Tisha Brown was very into

Work Is a Source of Satisfaction and Joy for Individuals
Introduction
In this essay, I am going to argue that work can certainly be a source of satisfaction and joy for individuals. Throughout Section One of the essay, I
will be referring to Rosen (1988), Ackoryd and Crowdy (1990) and Knights et al (1982), by introducing some of the possible reasons why individual
work. Additionally in Section Two of the essay, I will explore the positive aspects relating to work and how these aspects can play a part in relations
to the individuals emotionally, physically and mentally, by drawing upon Jackall (1988), Rosen (1988), Ackroyd and Crowdy (1990), Knights and
Roberts (1982) and Jackson and Carter (2000). Furthermore in Section Three of the essay, I will draw upon Jackall (1988), Ackroyd and Crowdy...

In my understanding satisfaction and joy are two different elements, satisfaction is obtained through hard work, and joy is considered as more and
more central way to achieve happiness. As Ackroyd and Crowdy (1990) point out from the case study of English slaughtermen, employee satisfaction
can be achieved despite all the discrimination, harassments, and highly routinised dirty working condition the workers face on a daily basis. Similarly
Jackall's (1988) moral mazes study of corporate American managers also indicates that besides all the routinised high pressure based decisions
managers undertake, there is also a light at the end of the tunnel, and that that is the light of satisfaction obtained through hard work and commitment
and making the right decision at the right time. I personally believe satisfaction factor really reflects the social context of employment between the
individual and the management which the individual is required to operate under. Furthermore satisfaction can be a motivation factor for the individual
from both the financial and non financial aspects.
From one aspect working hard can lead to a higher salary for the individual, as well as the confidence boost they are given by the management through
rewards, incentives, social activities and praises. As for the non financial aspect, Knights and Roberts (1982) add, employees tend to

Final Report Real Time Interactive group project
Introduction
For this report the process of creating the game Chased by Snakes as a member of Danger Noodle will be discussed.
Methodology
For this project it was decided by the group to use a flat management structure, and to follow a system akin to free development. This method meant
that none of the group was the project manager and instead the thing keeping people on track was their self–motivation to complete the project. To aid
with completing the project at the start of the project a list of work was set out from the requirements, and then each member of the group picked the
tasks that they could complete for the year. The main reason such a free and unstructured... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another problem is that this method requires everyone to have high motivation if they want to complete the project to a high standard and a as the
group is small a few unmotivated people can bring the whole project down. The group did have motivation problems during the middle of the project
with some group members not producing any work. The motivation could have been reduced if the work been assigned one at a time instead of all at
the start allowing people to focus on one thing at a time and seeing the list of work get smaller.
A problem with using this flat management with free development is that there are not a lot of examples to follow with many companies using agile. It
seems that this flat management is new to the games industry and so the group might make some mistakes that others can learn from in the future who
want to use the same structure. There are however some companies that do, valve uses a flat management structure and so does Chucklefish games
(Bithell , Sliwinski, & Orlowski , 2016)(18:25–19:00). At Chucklefish the flat management works well as there is a small team of people who are all
self–motivated to complete the parts of the game they are working on. As we were working in a

Summary Of Bound By Kehinde Wiley
The most influential artist to me in this exemplary in this pursuit for the appropriated traditions is Kehinde Wiley. In his opening speech for the New
Republic gallery show he expressed that things such as his work was evolved around the working of chance . In his case, he manipulates the chance of
the representation of the black demographic in traditional work. Modifying the figurative works to create the chance for relating a body that is
familiar. I see contemporary painter, Kehinde Wiley as a comparable to my work in regards to the topic as well as the manipulation of the human
figure. The admirable features I see in Kehinde Wiley's work in addition to these is the fantasy elements that are incorporated. These features are best
exhibited in his piece, "Bound". The work is a bronze sculpture that stands approximately four feet tall and two–and half feet wide. The composition is
inviting as it includes busts of three identical women that have African descent features that are placed on a rounded triangle base. The expressions on
all of the faces are of a staring and wondering nature that have a nature of regality as their faces are turned to the right at an approximate forty five
degree angle as their all have their back facing each other to form a guard of the leaves the a laid on their base. The bodies are cut organically as it
rounds off from shoulder to shoulder, just enough to form the upper torso to see the corset like dress that encompass the figure. Expanding

A Scientific Management, Taylorism, And Management
F.W Taylor introduced a scientific management, Taylorism, in the early 20th century to solve the problem of inefficiency. The aim of Taylorism is to
maixmise productivity and minimise waste of resources using specialisation of labour. There are three main components of Taylorism and it will be
discussed in detail in the later paragraphs.
Firstly, according to Rose, M. (1978), Taylor believes that the root of inefficiency is the slacking and soldiering of workers. And irrational and
incompetent of managers. He further explained the idea of inefficacy by stating 'managers are incompetent is because of the growth in scale and
technical complexity of industry'. In order to dealt with the slackness of worker, the worker should be closely control and supervise by inspector. This
ensures that no one will shirk during work and the chance of worker making mistakes are minimized. Hence worker will produce the maximum effort
which leads to increase in productivity. Taylorism also suggested the use of hierarchy organization structure which means separating the decision
maker, usually the managers and the people who receive orders from the managers and implement it. This is because he believes that people with no
management skills will not be able to make a right decision and hence may leads to a waste of resources. Besides supervision, Taylor asserted that
managers should apply their professional knowledge on managing their worker and plan the work. For example, calculating the

Smith et al.(1969) treated job satisfaction both as a general attitude and as satisfaction with five specific dimensions: pay, work, promotion, supervision,

You have 176 things to do today and you probably want to have some fun too, right?
It can be really overwhelming. And, if you 're overwhelmed and overworked it 's almost impossible to be influential, impactful and inspiring to those
around you!
Here 's three ways to get more done today:
1 – Ditch, Delegate or Do It
Look at your to–do list. First, note the things that are important for you to do. Immediately put them in your schedule to get done today or this week.
No excuses. They are important. You need to do them.
Now, go through your list and identify things that need to get done but could be completed just as well, or better, by someone else. Highlight these
with blue. This could be cleaning house, yard work, booking appointments and book keeping.
Who can you hire to do some of these tasks? Put it into your calendar to hire someone to do those tasks. Consider what it costs to hire something out.
If you make twice as much as it costs to hire someone else to do a task then hire it out to free your

"Real Work" by Richard Rodriguez is about a young man struggling with self–confidence. He seeks to build his self–esteem by participating in real
manual labor over a summer job. When Rodriguez is offered a job working on a construction site he doesn't hesitate to say yes. His father had
always told him he could never understand the hardships of "Real work', and Rodriguez felt that completing this summer job would make his father
proud of him, and in many ways consider him to be a "Real man". Richard Rodriguez was raised in America, unlike his family. He never really knew
anything different. This made it very easy for his father to tell him that "he didn't really know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

he had down. If a parental figure makes you feel like that, there tends to be a reaction. It could be positive or negative. In Rodriguez's case he took
what his father said, and harnessed it into a positive learning experience. When I thought about more in depth, it became clear that Rodriguez's father
wasn't putting his son down at all. He was simply explaining to his son how different their worlds where. He was stressing that although his son had
more opportunity, and was presented with much greater potential to be excellent, that the work he did growing up was much harder, and tough than
most people realize. His father was just making it known that in his working years he did not have many options as to career choices. But on the
other hand I can easily see why the author felt that his father had challenged him. Much like I felt my father was challenging me. Rodriguez felt like
he needed to prove that he could perform the same task that his fathers use to do to provide for their families. Working with you're your hands,
completing messy, strenuous, sometimes painful jobs was almost a part of Hispanic culture. A part of

My Group Project Analysis

  • 1. My Group Project Analysis Group projects reveal a person's true characteristics. There are slackers who manage to slap their name on projects without actually lifting a finger, chatterboxes who slow down productivity because they'd rather spill the latest gossip and, of course, misanthropes who assist with minimum efforts. I, however, have always been the heart and soul of group projects. For me, mapping out a plan while the assignment is still being described has become second nature. I schedule meetings, take notes, finalize drafts, encourage my teammates and by the end of the deadline, I usually find myself involved in every aspect of the project. I have managed all of my group projects because I am organized, detailed and assertive. Some might say I am a perfectionist, other's might describe me with cruder words, but I consider myself a great M.F.A. candidate for the University of California Los Angeles' Producers Program. While attending the University of Florida (UF), I took classes that focused on all aspects of television production. Such as: the laws and regulations of television and new media, ethics ... I moved to California for opportunities in Los Angeles. Specifically after learning about the Producers Program and touring UCLA's beautiful campus, I wanted to jump in as soon as possible to further my education, gain fundamental experiences and knowledge to green light my career in producing. UCLA's impeccable facility, technology, and reputation are the best, by far, with a fantastic location to step into the entertainment field. • 2. The At The End Of The Day Well, you certainly came off as being a nice guy. And now your audience has been widened thanks to your Hallmark fans. Oh absolutely. I hope so. That 's the goal at the end of the day. I just hope people like my work, and if they can relate to it, that 's great. I do have to say I get recognized from Cedar Cove. And the fans have been great. From flight attendants and obviously when I travel, you start meeting people. The people where I live in Vancouver in LA know me as an actor, so they usually know what show I 've been on. Hopefully I get to work on another Hallmark show one of these days. Well, that 's what people were asking about. They definitely want to see you in another Hallmark show or film. So you do have fans that would like to see that happen. Oh, that 's great to hear. It 's always nice to see that the Hallmark fans know you by name, they remember you, and they like you. Oh good. Phew! (laughs) darkmatter_gallery_201funfacts_01.jpgYou mentioned Dark Matter. I started watching last season because of Roger Cross––I am a First Wave fan. And then it was something to see you get added to the cast. So how did you end up joining the cast of Dark Matter? Basically, they had been talking to me about that show for years––the producers Jo Mallozzi and Paul Mullie. I 've known about the project for a long time before it started. And it got pushed for awhile. And then eventually they asked me if I would be interested in playing the role, and I was. So I said, "Let ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is a prime example of how changes within the economy are effecting those who work for the banks and also customers of the bank. It could be argued that making changes can help economy as more avenues have been introduced giving customers more choice. This allows for any customer who works antisocial hours take control of their banking, it allows for every customer to be treated fairly as everyone has the same opportunities with their banking. For example savings account online normally have a higher interest rate to those offered in branch these accounts are optional for every customer however you need to bank online to manage the account therefore you automatically introducing yourself to a new avenue of banking. It could be argued that making changes is harming the economy as manual labour is taking a cut therefore more individuals are unemployed. More unemployment puts a strain on the government this would then be costing the government. Increased automation oretail (Inc. stock levels/reordering) Within the retail environment there has also been many changes which have had a knock on effect with the economy. The two many factors which need to be consider would be stock levels and reordering of stock. • 6. The Importance Of Team Dynamics And Communication Throughout my semester in SciTech, perhaps the most important thing that I took away from my experience was the importance of team dynamics and communication in collaborative projects, and this is particularly true in engineering fields, where it is absolutely essential to success, and, in my opinion, significantly more important than the skill of knowledge of individual team members after a certain point. Every team that I was part of during SciTech, the team for the semester challenge especially, had numerous issues in cooperation and communication, and conflict repeatedly arises, though we eventually learned how best to function together and were able to successfully complete the challenge before D4 with a significant amount of time to spare, though we did have some issues with time management in regard to the Final Report later. I have found that, although relevant skills to the task at hand, proficiency with SolidWorks or a general aptitude for mechanical engineering for example, organizational abilities, or other things of that nature, these are effectively useless without a developer work ethic, a willingness to accept feedback and learn, the ability to effectively resolve disputes, and good communication, all of which are immensely valuable in a collaborative setting. For example, one of my group members spent more than a week on the quantitative analysis section of the FDR, but I ended up having to redo large portions of it anyway (logbook 3/23), which ... Whether it was in an athletic, academic, or employment sense, I have learned many life lessons and values solely because I was a part of these teams. Growing up, I was involved in countless team–based sports in which I had a number of roles. I have already realized how important it is that the medical unit function as a team and work together so that the patient is given the best possible treatment. Another team experience came during my first year of undergraduate studies. In this experience, I had the opportunity to work for Texas Tech under one of my professors. The task that I was assigned with was to help with the transition of one online class system to another. Overall, there was a lot of work that had to be done in order to meet the specified deadlines. Personally, I was put in charge of creating two classes in the new format of Blackboard that the university was planning to switch to. With all of the work that had to be done for each class, the professor made specific students in charge of certain classes and then gave each person in charge a team of other students to help the leader with the class. As a team leader, I was responsible for delegating certain objectives out to the rest of the team, while also performing my own tasks. Each task had a concrete deadline to meet and it was crucial that I meet all set deadlines if I expected the rest of my team to meet their deadlines. This helped to hold everyone accountable because if one member of the team slacked, then it gave a bad look to the team as a whole. Furthermore, we had a peer review system put in place ... • 9. Orientation Questionnaire For Sports Psychology I recently took a Work Orientation Questionnaire for Sport Psychology. I scored highest on the work orientation, but I decided to research and talk about mastery orientation. Even though mastery orientation was the lowest score of the three, I feel like I can relate a little bit more by viewing the questions being asked within the Questionnaire. Readers, I am not disagreeing with the results of the quiz; however, I am expanding on an area that personally fits me better. This is for people who are focused on developing and progressing skills, but also for gaining additional knowledge. If readers are looking for a more descripted definition, it's best defined as using the goal of learning and mastering the task according to standards set by you. Students find approval with the work and are not conflicted by external factors. These students also tend to participate in work or activities that increase their learning, which involves more attention, collecting information at a higher level, and are open to asking questions. I plan on being a basketball coach at the junior high or high school level. I want to talk to the readers about mastery orientation within sport performance. Most players, regardless of sport, are ego–orientated people due to the theme of winning or success. Before I continue, I am not suggesting that I prefer all my players to be just mastery oriented. I believe a positive ego oriented athlete can reflect positively and help with the mastery oriented part. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A particular stressful situation that occurred within the last year was my unrealistic goal to become Personal Trainer certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in three–months (over the summer). What made this goal difficult was the fact that it took me a long time each day to finally sit down before my book to study, there were days I had to take care of my grandma in place of her other caregiver, spending too much time at the gym, wasting time on the computer, wasting time on my phone and on social media, and consecutive days where I pushed studying off. All of these points really made focusing on studying hard. Each day my intentions were to get to work and work hard, but just the thought of being in the action of studying repelled me from sitting down and doing so. In all honesty, some days were easier than others, but the majority weren't as so. To add to all of this, I had the pressure of the promise I'd made to so many people of being certified before starting this last semester of college. Given this goal I had for myself, and knowing that getting focused on the work each day wouldn't be easy, I had a select few hold me accountable for getting my studying done. The support systems I had in place were my mom, girlfriend at the time, and my dentist, who I was training at night, five–days a week. Although the intention was to develop one centralized, efficient, and high volume centre, the inattention to the 'people issues' and the cultural differences of the work units results in chaos. The recently hired laboratory manager, Claude, has implemented several stopgap measures intended to address the work load issues resulting from high turnover levels and sick leave usage. However, these measures do not improve the morale and performance problems of the laboratory. Time is running out for Claude as his supervisor gives him an ultimatum to 'clean house... The new system separated employees from their work group and completely disrupted the established work process. Compounding this problem was the wide gap in the cultures of the work units as they had been previously structured and the attempts by employees to maintain their allegiances with their 'like–minded' former coworkers, at the expense of finding an effective means of building relationships with their new coworkers. The manager, an outsider, appeared to have little appreciation of these interpersonal dynamics. Your analysis of thiscase study should illustrate a number of concepts. The Relationship between Academic Obstacles and Facilitators University students make up a large population in most countries and may be the most important individual's part of a society; as they constitute of future professionals and degree obtainers. The life of a student is very different to other age groups and may prove to be extremely stressful and pressurised as the importance to having a profession, especially in South Africa, is heightened because of financial pressure and recessions. It has been argued and researched that the well–being of a student is important for their academic performance, therefore their health needs to be taken into context and maintained to ensure peak performance. The purpose of this essay is to assess the relationship between academic obstacles and facilitators and how they hinder or promote academic performance, as well as how it may affect the well–being of the student. When students are going through a stressful period in their studies, such as exam time or when assignments are due, they often feel exhausted and sometimes unable to manage their time properly in order to get their work done on time, or simply not being able to cope with the nature of the work. It is argued that students who are experiencing emotional exhaustion will perform poorly in their studies (Salanova, Schaufeli, Martinez & Breso, 2008). This is because students who feel exhausted will experience feelings of demotivation, irritability, detachment and cynicism towards their work. While those who have positive feelings ... • 15. The Influential works of Andre Antoine The dramatic arts, that originated from the Greeks, has changed drastically into the theatre that is known today. Many people contributed to this metamorphosis and aided in bringing the technical, emotional, and physical art form to life. Theatre should depict a real part of life for the audience. This is the goal that Andre Antoine had set for himself. His view on a realistictheatre brought modern naturalism to life and continues to be seen in the work of modern day directors. Antoine was alive from 1858 to 1943 in France. France was drawn to street performers and plays with a moral lesson and political context. The plays of the time would deliver a message to the audience, but the actors would never move around or show any real emotion. This however also went in the other direction and displayed productions of melodrama. Antoine was all about getting a story across even if it was political, but seeing actors stand stiff and deliver lines or overact was something he thought was unprofessional. Antoine firmly believed in making theatre as realistic as possible in every way. Antoine knew that he needed to bring his ideas to life and to the stage. He tried to get the director of a previous theatre group he had worked for at the time, to direct a novel by Emile Zola, but he was repeatedly turned away. This only fueled him into going further with his ideas. As a result, in 1887 he founded Theatre–Libre. His theatre was a showcase for naturalistic playwrights such as: ... In any work environment, it is important for all levels of management, including executives and owners, to consider the working environments for those within the organization or company. The unofficial secret to longevity and talent retention is happiness and workplace satisfaction. There are many ways for organizational leaders to promote happy, healthy working environments; the trick is finding the right combination that works for their particular group of workers and their particular work environment. Different methods work for different industries and people so it is a matter of trial and error to find the right fit. There are employment laws in place to ensure fair work practices occur however, employers should go the extra mile to take care of those who make their business succeed. • 21. The Rhetorical Situation Summary In his article, "The Rhetorical Situation," Lloyd Bitzer defines and elaborates on rhetorical situation. He writes, "Rhetorical situation may be defined as a complex of persons, events, objects, and relations presenting an actual or potential exigence which can be completely or partially remove if discourse, introduced into the situation, can so constrain human decision or action as to bring about the significant modification of the exigence" (6). To put it simply, a rhetorical situation is some response to a certain situation (Bitzer 3). Bitzer also explains that there are three parts to any rhetorical situation: the exigence, the audience, and the constraints. These three components exist before any discourse is created or presented (6.) On July 27th, 2016, Avalonlifeguard Emily Blake sent a message to the other members of the Avalon staff, informing them that she could not work her assigned shift due to other commitments that she needed to attend to. Following Bitzer's definition, Emily's message in response to this complication is a response to a rhetorical situation. After several months, however, the "Brothers Three" are reunited. They promise to always stay together, and each boy has an optimisticoutlook on life again. Eliot's own pessimism toward life amid the destruction of World War I is evident throughout most of the poem. He uses many dark images to suggest death and brokenness, but Eliot contrasts those depictions with pictures of life and energy. In the second stanza of section one, Eliot vividly describes a desert wasteland. A few lines later in the same stanza, he depicts a young "hyacinth girl" (l. 37) and a lush garden full of flowers. With the start of my senior year quickly approaching, I was already balancing sports, grades, college applications, and now my employer was asking me to step up from a shift leader to assistant manager. I always had the thoughts, if I were the manager I would do this or I would do that. The same thoughts everyone else was having, except I wasn't saying unrealistic comments like; we would have two–hour lunches and I wouldn't make anyone work Friday nights. I was looking at how personnel were used and how their strengths were not being maximized. Core Values Of My Life Friedman reading lists many core values, but the ones that are most important to me and have influenced me the most include: Physical Fitness, Creativity, Enjoyment, and Family. Physical fitness means, staying in shape through physical activity and healthy nutrition. This has always been a big part of my life. In my childhood I incorporated physical activity through different activities my mother would sign me up for such as, swimming, roller staking, and dancing. As I got older my main physical activity was dance, I grew to love it and it helped me stay in shape. Along, with this though I always tried to eat a healthy diet because my family has a history of high blood pressure. Being physically fit influenced me to make healthy choices and break away from my family's history of health problems. It also, lead me to healthier eating choices now and more physical activity through other sports such as kickboxing which also builds disciple leading to a more organized lifestyle and doing better in school because of it. Furthermore, physical fitness led to creativity, which is another major influence in my life. Creativity according to Friedman is discovering, developing, or designing new ideas or things; demonstrating imagination. As I mentioned previously, physical fitness has been a big part of my life, most of all this consisted dance. My mother's love for dance was passed on to me and through this I learned creativity. I have been dancing for almost fourteen years and I have picked up many different techniques. Being a dancer involves a lot of creativity because you need to be able to learn new styles and create your own dances using these styles. Often times my friends come to me when they want new idea's or a different view on projects they are working on and it feels great that I am able to help them. Trisha Brown's movements were finding the extraordinary in everyday life. They began challenging the existing perceptions of what is considered performance. Trisha Brown's style as well as the concepts that it produced were severely influential to modern dance then, as well as now. Trisha Brown graduated from Mills College, which is in California, she then began to teach at Reed College which is in Portland, Oregon. Then in 1961 she moved to New York and in 1970 Trisha Brown began revolutionizing the dance world, specifically the modern genre. In 1968 Trisha Brown created a piece called Falling Duets. Unfortunately I was unable to find any videos of the work. However there was a description of the work on Trisha Brown's website and there were any "recreations" of her work. The piece is one big excellent example of weight sharing and it is quite the physical representation of trust between two people. The other work that I planned to study was called The Stream. Now I was also unable to find a video as this piece involved members of the public, although, I was able to find an in depth description of the piece. The first of these Trisha Brown works that I studied as Watermotor. This was a very fluid, water –like piece. All of the movements fit and flowed together nothing was choppy. As Ackroyd and Crowdy (1990) point out from the case study of English slaughtermen, employee satisfaction can be achieved despite all the discrimination, harassments, and highly routinised dirty working condition the workers face on a daily basis. Similarly Jackall's (1988) moral mazes study of corporate American managers also indicates that besides all the routinised high pressure based decisions managers undertake, there is also a light at the end of the tunnel, and that that is the light of satisfaction obtained through hard work and commitment and making the right decision at the right time. I personally believe satisfaction factor really reflects the social context of employment between the individual and the management which the individual is required to operate under. Furthermore satisfaction can be a motivation factor for the individual from both the financial and non financial aspects. From one aspect working hard can lead to a higher salary for the individual, as well as the confidence boost they are given by the management through rewards, incentives, social activities and praises. As for the non financial aspect, Knights and Roberts (1982) add, employees tend to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Final Report Real Time Interactive Group Project Final Report Real Time Interactive group project Introduction For this report the process of creating the game Chased by Snakes as a member of Danger Noodle will be discussed. Methodology For this project it was decided by the group to use a flat management structure, and to follow a system akin to free development. This method meant that none of the group was the project manager and instead the thing keeping people on track was their self–motivation to complete the project. To aid with completing the project at the start of the project a list of work was set out from the requirements, and then each member of the group picked the tasks that they could complete for the year. The main reason such a free and unstructured... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another problem is that this method requires everyone to have high motivation if they want to complete the project to a high standard and a as the group is small a few unmotivated people can bring the whole project down. The group did have motivation problems during the middle of the project with some group members not producing any work. The motivation could have been reduced if the work been assigned one at a time instead of all at the start allowing people to focus on one thing at a time and seeing the list of work get smaller. A problem with using this flat management with free development is that there are not a lot of examples to follow with many companies using agile. It seems that this flat management is new to the games industry and so the group might make some mistakes that others can learn from in the future who want to use the same structure. There are however some companies that do, valve uses a flat management structure and so does Chucklefish games (Bithell , Sliwinski, & Orlowski , 2016)(18:25–19:00). At Chucklefish the flat management works well as there is a small team of people who are all self–motivated to complete the parts of the game they are working on. As we were working in a ... I see contemporary painter, Kehinde Wiley as a comparable to my work in regards to the topic as well as the manipulation of the human figure. The admirable features I see in Kehinde Wiley's work in addition to these is the fantasy elements that are incorporated. These features are best exhibited in his piece, "Bound". The work is a bronze sculpture that stands approximately four feet tall and two–and half feet wide. The composition is inviting as it includes busts of three identical women that have African descent features that are placed on a rounded triangle base. The expressions on all of the faces are of a staring and wondering nature that have a nature of regality as their faces are turned to the right at an approximate forty five degree angle as their all have their back facing each other to form a guard of the leaves the a laid on their base. • 36. A Scientific Management, Taylorism, And Management F.W Taylor introduced a scientific management, Taylorism, in the early 20th century to solve the problem of inefficiency. The aim of Taylorism is to maixmise productivity and minimise waste of resources using specialisation of labour. There are three main components of Taylorism and it will be discussed in detail in the later paragraphs. Firstly, according to Rose, M. (1978), Taylor believes that the root of inefficiency is the slacking and soldiering of workers. And irrational and incompetent of managers. He further explained the idea of inefficacy by stating 'managers are incompetent is because of the growth in scale and technical complexity of industry'. In order to dealt with the slackness of worker, the worker should be closely control and supervise by inspector. This ensures that no one will shirk during work and the chance of worker making mistakes are minimized. Hence worker will produce the maximum effort which leads to increase in productivity. Taylorism also suggested the use of hierarchy organization structure which means separating the decision maker, usually the managers and the people who receive orders from the managers and implement it. This is because he believes that people with no management skills will not be able to make a right decision and hence may leads to a waste of resources. Besides supervision, Taylor asserted that managers should apply their professional knowledge on managing their worker and plan the work. For example, calculating the ... Richard Rodriguez "Real Work" Essay Analysis D'Auvray Xan D'Auvray Kevin Knight English 111 September 12th, 2012 "Real Work" by Richard Rodriguez is about a young man struggling with self–confidence. He seeks to build his self–esteem by participating in real manual labor over a summer job. When Rodriguez is offered a job working on a construction site he doesn't hesitate to say yes. His father had always told him he could never understand the hardships of "Real work', and Rodriguez felt that completing this summer job would make his father proud of him, and in many ways consider him to be a "Real man". Richard Rodriguez was raised in America, unlike his family. He never really knew anything different. This made it very easy for his father to tell him that "he didn't really know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The father figure depicted in this story could be viewed in a few different ways. At first I thought the authors father was kind of a stuck up, rude man, who was sour about the advantages of living a normal life in American society. I felt that he had made his son feel like he could never do what he had down. If a parental figure makes you feel like that, there tends to be a reaction. It could be positive or negative. In Rodriguez's case he took what his father said, and harnessed it into a positive learning experience. When I thought about more in depth, it became clear that Rodriguez's father wasn't putting his son down at all. He was simply explaining to his son how different their worlds where. He was stressing that although his son had more opportunity, and was presented with much greater potential to be excellent, that the work he did growing up was much harder, and tough than most people realize. His father was just making it known that in his working years he did not have many options as to career choices. But on the other hand I can easily see why the author felt that his father had challenged him. Much like I felt my father was challenging me. Rodriguez felt like he needed to prove that he could perform the same task that his fathers use to do to provide for their families. Working with you're your hands, completing messy, strenuous, sometimes painful jobs was almost a part of Hispanic culture. A part of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
