In Caroline Evans' book, Fashion at the Edge, she looks at the fashions from all ages but goes most
deeply into the fashion of the 1990's and the themes that were very apparent in that particular time.
She expands on these themes in chapters throughout her book such as Deathliness, Spectacle, Horror
and Glamour. She relates all these themes back to the influences of the 20th century and the rise of
the commodity obsessed culture, modernism and capitalism and the metaphorical death it brings to
our world. This essay will focus on the image of 'Dolly Mixture' that was featured in a fashion
spread in 2000 that was written by Gaby Wood, which is found in the Deathliness chapter. I will
review Evans' chapter and her analysis of the themes and idea proposed by Evans herself and other
theorists. I will use these themes and ideas to make my own predictions about the effects these
theories would have on the future of our society and our fashion here in New Zealand.
Evans starts the chapter of with exploring the idea of living dolls. She explains that these living dolls
are actually human beings, mostly women that are becoming or have become objects through the

The aircraft struck multiple obstructions after leaving the paved runway including part of the
instrument landing system localizer and the security perimeter fence before falling another 15 feet
over a rock embankment into a flood plain where in collided with the supporting structure of the
runway approach lights. The post–crash fires and impact completely destroyed the aircraft and lead

Research Paper On Airport Interview
The location of the interview was in the boardroom of the Hector International Airport. The
attendees of the meeting were Kaitlyn Anderson, Stacie Tjon Bossart, Corey Quinton and Jim
Koehler. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Darren Anderson, who was the driver of the airport's Chevrolet
Traverse, the subject vehicle that was involved in the accident. Kaitlyn appeared at the interview
wearing a sweat suit. She is 18 years old and a freshman at studying pharmaceutical medicine at
North Dakota State University. She lives at home with her parents and her younger sister. She made
a nice appearance during the interview and was able to keep composed during most of the meeting.

Kaitlyn was in the vehicle with Darren Anderson at the time of the accident because he was excited
about the construction project going on that involved the runway and wanted to bring her out to see
the project. They arrived at the airport at approximately 11:00 PM on July 30, 2017. They walked
through the administration section of the airport and then got into the airport's Chevy Traverse.
Kaitlyn reported that the Traverse is equipped with amber warning lights on the top; however, she
was not certain if the lights were activated at any time that night.
Kaitlyn and her father drove out onto Runway 18–36, which was closed due to the construction and
a restriping project, and they parked near the intersection of Runway 18–36 and Runway 9–27. Her
dad got out of the vehicle and had a conversation with Henry Swedberg, from the airport, and
another gentleman also from the airport, regarding the work that was ongoing that night. Kaitlyn got
out of the vehicle to say hello to Henry and then both she and her dad got into the vehicle to escort

The 8th of December 2005 was a hard day for Southwest Airlines (SWA) but was catastrophic for
the family that lost a child and for the aviation industry. At that day, SWA flight number 1248
overran the departure end of the runway number 31C during landing at Chicago Midway
International Airport (MDW), Chicago, Illinois. The Boing 737 broke through two fences then onto
a roadway. The plane came to a stop after hitting some cars. A kid was killed and the passengers of
the cars and the airplane received some serious and minor injuries. The plane left
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Baltimore, Maryland about
6 p.m. after two hours delay due to the bad weather conditions at Chicago. That accident happened
for the first flight of a long scheduled three–day trip. The pilot was in charge of flying while the co–
pilot was in charge of monitoring. Before taking off, they received the latest weather updates for
MDW, which indicates that the active runway for them would be 31C with mixed braking
conditions. About 30 minutes before landing, the co–pilot entered the runway conditions, weather
conditions and winds information into the OPC to figure out the needed distance for landing. Due to

Runway lighting. Runway lighting is composed of several different types of lighting, with specific
colors and positions on the runway, conveying vital information to the pilot during night operations,
or operations during low visibility. Some airports will have Runway End Identifier Lights, which
provide positive identification of the approach end of the runway. These lights are located on each
side of the runway threshold, consist of a pair of synchronized flashing lights, and may be
unidirectional facing the approach area or omnidirectional. Runway Edge Lights are white lights
used to mark the edges of the runway. Used for night or low visibility operations, these lights are
classified as high, medium, or low intensity lights. On instrument runways, amber lights are used on
the last half of the runway, or 2,000 feet, whichever is less, with red lights marking the end of the

Passenger air travel has been forecasted to increase to over 1 billion persons annually by 2023. This
alone has a great likelihood of negatively impacting airport capacity at several of Frontier Airlines'
major hubs due to inefficient runway use. This case study will focus on delays and congestion at
Frontier's east coast hub, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), and how improvements can
effectively reduce the amount of delayed flights Frontier consistently experiences.
Background
Philadelphia Municipal Airport opened on June 20, 1940 along the banks of the Delaware River. By
year's end, approximately 40,000 passengers travelled through the airport. By 1945, the municipal
airport became Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) courtesy of transatlantic service by
American
Overseas Airlines. In the 1960s and 1970s, expansion and modernization paved way for the airport
facility in use today.
Increased popularity of air travel, population growth, and urban development have all contributed to
the increase in congestion and decrease in capacity at PHL over the years. FAA records as far back
as
1995 show that PHL ranked consistently as one of the most delayed airports (FAA, 2010). Many of
these delays at PHL have secondary and tertiary effects at the airports to which the originating
flights are destined. Hub and spoke carrier passengers depending on their on–time arrival may miss
connecting flights and, at times, additional onward flights, cruises, or other important events.

An Approach Into Los Angeles International Airport
On February 1st, 1991 USAir Flight 1493 (USA 1493), a Boeing 737–300 (B–737), was on an
approach into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), as part of a scheduled stop prior to
completing its journey to San Francisco. USA 1493 was piloted by Captain Colin Shaw who had
over 16,000 flight hours and First Officer David Kelly with over 4,000 total flight hours. Meanwhile
on the ground at LAX, SkyWest Airlines Flight 5569 (Skywest 5569), a Fairchild Metroliner, had
just executed its clearance to taxi to Runway 24L from Gate 32 given by the local controller (LC2)
in the LAX tower, and was holding short (NTSB, 1991, p. 5). It was now 6:03PM, about 40 minutes

During the investigation, NTSB investigators processed and analyzed voice recordings, toxicology
results, conducted meteorological, site surveys and reviewed shift logs as well as airline and airport
operating procedures. The voice recordings and operating procedures were the most vital in
understanding the diminished situational awareness that took place that day. USA 1493's FDR and
the ATC radio recordings were successfully recovered and would help investigators determine
exactly what went wrong on February 1st, 1991 as well as the workload experienced by both pilots
and controllers. The captain and crew of USA 1493 were fully qualified and fully staffed for the
flight. Witnesses who saw the crew beforehand stated that they appeared to be well rested. The exact

Before, I use to study everything all at once the night before a test, and the test scores would show

Task A: Background of the project
The Brisbane Airport is located 14 kilometers north east of the Brisbane central business district. As
much as 27 airlines fly from the airport in 43 different national and 39 international destinations.
The Brisbane airport is making some modifications in the Brisbane airport by introducing a new
parallel runway to ease up the traffic of airplanes. This will help to reduce the delays in the flights
both arriving and departing from the airport. This project was started in the year 2014 and is
expected to be completed in the year 2020. The new parallel runway (NPR) will be 3.3 kilometers
and 60 meters wide. It will be located 2 km west of and parallel to the existing runway. The
