Fashion Illustration Essay
Illustration is an art that allows to create an amazing aesthetics that is hard to remake or achieve
with the same aesthetic value using digital technologies or photography because of the emotional
atmosphere, transfer of mood of the work of art and detailed visualization of images. The term
"illustration" itself has a several meanings, but the most known is 'art design'. In the past, illustration
due to its characteristics been only associated with books and magazines as a support for a text.
However, as the time passed illustration became an individual type of art that no longer need to play
a supporting role for anything. This evolution leads illustration forward to the division of a broader
term into narrower subtopics, which introduced the creation of fashion illustration. From that point,
it was clear that fashion illustration is one of the oldest and most important movements in the history
of illustration. Through the time, it has always had a touch with graphic design and fine arts, it has
an undeniable influence on fashion and vice versa. Right now, it is possible to recognize another
story of fashion by them because they reflect an individual and not a group view on it, unlike in
photography. Throughout history, the artists through their works have tried to push the boundaries of
our perception, inviting to the world of their dreams and fantasies. However, before fashion
illustration was brought to life, it is initially the engravings in the 16th century are

Why Drawing Is Drawing
A person can have many skills, whether it be good or bad. Someone could paint really well or could
be a disastrous cook. There are many common skills such as doing underwater handstands and then
there are skills that are absolutely out of the blue, for example bending their index finger backwards
down the wrist. My skill isn't too common though it isn't very unique either. My skill isn't painting
or cooking, or even having strangely, stretchy fingers. My skill is drawing. Drawing is one of my
passions, because it is a good stress reliever and it can help express emotion. Drawing is very useful
for when I'm upset and need something to boost my moralemood and is comforting for just a
normal, rainy day activity. I especially draw especially when I'm bored or trying to pass time. Some
people agree, and find drawing fun, but others may find it frustrating or boring. I enjoy drawing
because it lets me work at my own pace. I casually sketch, whether it be for a novel or just a plain
doodle, I find a way to maneuver it into random pieces of work. I could be working on notes, and
sooner or later have a mural on the sides of the paper. This is funny considering that when I get an
actual sketching pad, the sketches look horrible, but on a sheet of scratched up ... Show more

I will admit, drawing is hard when you first attempt it, but drawing is made up of building blocks.
You start out with a pencil sketch, and start adding new edits and textures to make it more and more
vivid and detailed. I don't usually color drawings because they look better to me in mono, but that
gives me a chance to make the tiny details in the drawing a lot bigger. Drawing may come as a
gifted skill to some people where they can draw perfectly when a pencil is given to them, but I find
it hard to believe that without practice, a magnificent piece of art can be

Reflection About My Personal Identity
When I take a look beck on my lifetime, I see that I've changed a great deal in regards to my
personal identity. For me to put entirely into words on a paper would take me days to explain how
and why things went the way they did, so I'd like to shorten these feeling up. In my youth, I had
clearly planned to take the superhero path through life. Professional athlete, firefighter, police
officer, or basically anything portrayed in society as a model citizen, a class act if you will, all
racing through my mind when thinking about my future. I was mistaking, and for good reason as I
had these feelings until I was about ten years old. When the first year with two digits associated
itself with my age, a certain maturity occurred. I wouldn't classify it as a life changing realization,
but more of an assistant to my later discoveries. In the time I spent working with my father, albeit
mostly masonry work, I began to ask questions with higher frequency. For myself, I wanted to
further my knowledge, but at that time, I was really annoyed that I couldn't understand certain
aspects to building such as why we used Weld–Crete on all of our bluestone patios when it seemed
that we were the only masons doing anything resemblant of our process. I continued to question my
father about how our creations held up and why we did certain things that seemed unnecessary.
Whether we were working on a fireplace, a patio, or a sprinkler system, I was never satisfied until I
understood why we took one

Memory: Similarities And Differences Of Memory And Memory
I will be looking at the conceptual and technical similarities, differences and influences between the
artwork of the artists that I researched and my own artwork.
The topic that we were given was that of 5mm moments. From this I decided to look into the
concept of dreams, nightmares and memories and how they can change us into different people.
For my drawing component I drew profile faces because you can never see the true nature of a
person no matter how hard you try. I person is constantly changed and characterised by their
experiences. Dreams nightmares and memories change people through the experience.
I decided to also change what the faces look like throughout the pictures. I decided to do this
because no single person has the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The face is in greyscale which adds to the intensity of the entire thing. My artwork is also in plain
colours and it adds to the intensity and adds emphasis.
 An example of his work is "American Flag" which is a picture of a woman which is in greyscale
with an American flag that is in its actual colours to emphasis the meaning.
Paul Jenkins was a very expressionistic in the way that there was dramatic changes in colour and
painting technique. The viewer also does not know where to look to see what they think they are
supposed to see. There is also no definitive way to look at his artworks.
 An example of his work is "The Archer" which is a painting that is impasto in some areas and the
painting technique constantly changes. There seems to also be no definitive place to focus.
Francoise Nielly influenced me because she had clean brushstrokes and her paintings just seemed so
intense that you can't help but be attracted towards them. Like hers I wanted mine to have a definite
shape to it so that the viewer could see what it was showing and for it to emphasis the intensity of

Genogram And Ethnography Analysis
The overall process of drawing out my ecomap and genogram was moderately easy. I drew rough
drafts of both clinical tools first before completing the final copies. I found this helpful especially
for the ecomap because it allowed me to organize the different ecological impacts of my life
effectively. I think the hardest part of creating this clinical tool was being able to lay it out so that
things that should be connected were close to each other. I liked drawing the ecomap because it was
interesting to see different aspects of my life connected to each other. Thinking of the different parts
of my life that I come in contact with came easily to me. In terms of completing the genogram,
because I have relatively small family, this was not that

Can You Tell Us Little About Project Where You Are?
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your time at Beck? Can you tell us little about project
where you are? o I've been with Beck nine years this summer, my first experience with the company
was an internship on the Fellowship Church Camp in Hawkins. I'm currently an assistant project
manager at the Southern Methodist University's aquatic center and responsible for the pool and
building's MEP systems. The building is unique in that the majority of space is one big open
volume; there wasn't a lot of coordination to do above ceiling. In addition, we had a minimal amount
of duct above the open space but still had to coordinate the structure side of things in that area.
How were you made aware of 3d coordination available on job? ... Show more content on

By using a three dimensional "draft" model, we were able to adjust the reinforcing to account for
hanger locations before the traditional coordination process was complete. This was critical as there
were only tolerances of four inches at sixteen inch intervals. We are currently installing these
systems and having this information available has drastically cut down on our installation time.
By using the coordination process do you feel there was more collaboration with the subcontractors
and architects/engineers on the project? Did you learn something new? o I believe from the
subcontractor standpoint there is more engagement and cooperation; this led to establishing
relationships earlier and leading to an effective job start–off. Beck was able to engage the architects
on this project by fully coordinating the RCP plans leading to decreased installation times in the
field. We were able to catch several discrepancies in the design and resolve these issues before they
were manifested. In fact, one of the principals from the architecture firm noticed the effort and
complemented Beck for our endeavors. It was a positive experience to get this feedback from the
firm opposed the usual hostilities you sometimes receive from architects.
On the learning side, just learning how to efficiently drive the model was significant. From a

Ashley Sims Drawing
Ashley Sims was born in Arcadia, Florida and studied art at South Florida State College as well as
Greenville Technical College in South Carolina where Sims is currently in college, majoring in art
education. The theme of the collection being shown is to show the importance of a well rounded
education when it comes to the field of drawing. The importance of this theme is that each drawing
is an example of a different concept of drawing, Though multiple concepts are sometimes included
in the same drawing there will always be a main focus that teaches a new lesson and learning these
is imperative for any artist. The media used on these drawings are graphite, charcoal, ink wash, and
prisma pencil. Project one, is of an orange. Sims follows this theme by experimenting with mixed
media. She uses graphite, charcoal, and ink wash as well as 11 media processes in the creation of
this piece including, hatching, cross hatching, scribbling, tortillion marks and many more. This
project is used as a preview to all the processes that can be used in the creation of a drawing. Project

Sims wanted this collection to be used as a way for prospective artists to see and understand some of
the most important concepts of creating a drawing. The drawings of this collection are objective,
every mark was intentional and the meanings behind the images are not complicated. Her idea was
to show how to create a drawing rather than to make the viewer guess how to do it like they would
with subjective art where nothing is definite. Overall, any drawing that is created will have at least
one of the concepts shown in this collection. It does not matter whether the image is hundreds of
years old or will not be created for another hundred years. To be a successful drawing, it will have to
contain at least one of these

The Time Series By Patricia March
SBA Task 3
Conclusive Research Essay
Chanelle Botha 12k
An investigation on the use of ink and charcoal as a medium, as well as movement over time, in the
Time Series by Patricia March.
The works of Patricia March are predominantly charcoal works, with smaller aspects of ink, whilst
portraying insight of character, as well as how the body moves over a period of time. March uses the
perception of a figure moving, portraying the figure on one picture plane; but moving, as if this were
over a period of time. Figures appear walking or picking up an object and this is portrayed as one
character becoming three. In each different movement the figure is in a different position, as if
moving like in a real life situation. This reinforces the name of her series, Time, as it literally
perceives a figure or a few figures and their movements over a period of time. March studied a
master in cinematography. She was interested in movement and time, so since, she tried to apply her
vision about cinema into drawings. The movement of the people drawn, reminds me her some way
to profundity of the human form ad how it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The scope of the creative experience was influenced mainly by Patricia March as her ideas
influenced the idea of charcoal and ink drawings, as well as left–hand techniques. Her works
allowed the exploration of new mediums and techniques, of which I had not used before. March also
played a big role in influencing visual diary work and the direction of which I took when
researching other artists.
It is seen in resolution, that Patricia March, as well as her Time Series, created in 2011, have been a
great influence, when involving aspects such as similarities, differences, technique, medium, the
depth and scope pf creative process, on the creation of my own Self and Other year work

Thesis Statement Of Architectural Drawing
CHAPTER 1: THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
"An artist can make a cart with square wheels, but an architect can't" – Louis Kahn, American
Architect.
An architectural drawing is a technical drawing of a structure or building. These are used by
architects to develop a design, to communicate their ideas and concepts, to convince clients, to
enable a building contractor to construct it, and to make a record of a building that already exists.
Drawing, sketches and animations are just some of non–verbal languages used by architects to show
their works. Truly, architects communicate through drawings. Architecture students are going to be
doing a lot of drawing in their five years. Sketching and drawing will seems to be the foundation ...

College Architecture Students
The study can also help the college architecture students to enhance their drawing skills. Also, this
research can encourage architecture students who have low confidence because they think that being
not good in drawing is a hindrance in succeeding.
College Architecture Professors
The College Architecture Professors will understand more the capabilities of each student.
Professors may conclude that not all the students have the talent or the same level of skills in
drawing. This research will increase the awareness of the professors about the differences of the
students and how to adjust to help them to enhance their drawing skills.
Future Researchers
The research can also be beneficial to the future researches since the information presented in the
study may be used as reference in conducting related researches. This study will also give them a
background and overview about the importance of drawing skills for architecture students.

Why The Prodigy Artist Is Intrigued By Them
Question 2 Leung Ka Ho (s1659467)
RAPHAEL, LETTER TO POPE LEO X, ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS:
WHY THE PRODIGY PAINTER IS INTRIGUED BY THEM
Architectural drawings, despite its many crude forms, has existed long before the time of the Italian
painter–architect Raphael Sanzio da Urbino. Nevertheless, with reference to Wolfgang Lotz, the
prodigy painter's letter to Pope Leo X has been regarded as the trailblazer of "the rendering of
interior in architectural drawings". Such fundamental foundations to architectural drawings are in
fact the collaborative work of Raphael and several individuals, more specifically intimate friend
humanist Baldassare Castiglione, translator of Vitruvius' De Architectura Fabio Calvo and teams of
scholars due to his inept expression through literal means. As a result, at least three versions of the
letter are created (in chronological order of the date of publication or discovery) : a now–lost
manuscript owned by Scipione Maffei in a collection of works of Baldassare Castiglione published
by the Giovanni Antonio and Gaetano Volpi in Padua (1733); a Munich manuscript published in
1847; and a draft with the first parts of the letter that could decipher the complete text surfaced in
the Castiglione family archives in Mantua and later published in 1910. The letter sets up the
rudimentary foundations for architectural drawings to flourish and its significance is twofold: to
depict Renaissance

Compact–ability
Compact–ability is the density of propositions given in a designated area. The density and proximity
of people, activities, and built environments have always been defining characteristics of a city.
Compact–ability is the culmination of the 4 previous idea. Take a fountain in a public square for
instance (definability). A fountain will be an excellent resting place for people. Add extra benches
and shelters around the fountain to accommodate even more people (comfortability). Allow for
people to approach the fountain from different directions will allow more people to come to the

Store layout starts with the Floor Plan. Floor plan is the foundation that gives a structure through
which to understand and organize everything else. There are over 8 different retail store floor plans.
The most common are: straight floor plan, angel floor plan, mixed and loop.
Straight Floor Plan Is considered to be the most efficient floor plan because it uses not only the floor
space but also the wall space. Even commonly unused areas, like corners are used for displays and
shelving. A straight floor plan is very customizable; therefore, a wide variety of stores can use this
plan and incorporate many aisle layouts into it.
Angle Floor Plan The floor plan that uses a variety of different shapes and objects to create a
visually appealing space with a sophisticated feel. Stores with this kind of floor planning are usually
very high–end and put emphasis on how the products are displayed rather than their quantity.
Mixed Floor Plan Mixed Floor plan is the most customizable plan that creates a very functional
store. It gives an ability to group products in your stores based on different themes. A department
store is the best example for this kind of floor plan: a big quantity of products is offered by
communicating different vibes and highlighting variety.
Loop Floor Plan This kind of floor plan has one defined main aisle that loops around the whole
store. It will show more

College Admissions Essay: My Design
If anyone asks about my field of study, it is no doubt that I would say design. On the other hand,it
originated from my interest to drawing. I started drawing as my hobby since I was four, and I keep
drawing till present. I continued my passion and now as a Electronic Design and Multimedia major.
In my opinion, one passionated about something, means one could pay his life time and effort to it.
This is what design means to me. More importantly, the most meaningful achievements have altered
me as a better designer, no matter success or failure,
The first achievement leads me to drawing, was all about my father.
Sixteen years ago, when I was still four years old, I have had my morning breakfast with my family
in Hong Kong. Hong Kongers love having Chinese tea on a relaxing morning. Meanwhile, I was not
old enough to taste the beauty of tea, or curious enough to heated topics on newspaper, not to
mention about smartphone. I have nothing to do. Then I saw a snack shore's cute reddish bird
mascot on a piece of newspaper.
I have tried to draw it with my blue pen on my tiny hand, but no matter how I drew, all the strokes
messed. Suddenly a pair of well–trained hand took my pen, and made a perfect demonstration. At
least for a four year old me, it was too perfect. My father projected me a confident smile. I was
amazed by those accurate strokes, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

my friends often waited for video games after school, but not me. Sometimes I felt odd about
myself, I would be so excited to draw after school. My parents have never stop me from drawing,

Descriptive Essay About Art
Art is a form of expression that I could never abandon in my life. I became an artist at a young age,
and I can still remember the day art came into my life like angel sent straight from God. It was my
first time watching my Pops draw a portrait. It was around noon on Saturday in the summer because
the 'noon' heat was almost unearthly. However the vibe in our small two bedroom apartment was
absolutely groovy and cool. Pops was playing the oldies from the 70's. " Sweet love, my sweet love
you'll be crying out my name", I heard as the talented Anita Baker filled my home's walls with even
more soul! He was drawing a self portrait. The detail in the drawing was so hyper realistic. At the
time I did not know that it was a self portrait. I thought it was just a black man with his hands placed
both sides of his head as if inside he was going crazy inside. My pops hands moved so smoothly as
if each finger had a tiny brain in the tip where the pencil touched. I was around 8 years old at the
time. From that moment I knew I would want to be an artist, because that type of expression seemed
best for my dad. I always paid attention to the early teachings from the big guy. The cleanliness of
the lines that my dad had , it almost seemed as if he was a surgeon of the paper. He would start with
this blank piece paper and hours later it would become a piece of his life , and in some ways it
would become a major part of mine. Pops handed me a wooden number two pencil and a big piece

The Influence Of CAD On Society Essay
Before computers there were hands and tools. Before hands and tools there were just hands. Humans
have always been designing and throughout human history drafting is what became of it. With new
technology in building during the earlier years drafting needed to be changed to accommodate it.
Humans have always been able to find better ways to accomplish things. Drafting is no different.
Before people used tools to draw something they went to what we call now a "General Contractor"
with an idea and he had to come up with the rest. After a while the contractors wanted more. Just an
idea wasn't enough for them. Their clients sometimes wouldn't like what they had built for them. So
eventually the contractors asked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is difficult to sketch on the computer because the computer is so accurate (Friedman). It is not a
good idea to draw a sketch accurately because between a sketch and the final drawing things change
drastically (Friedman). So it shouldn't be perfect. It should be something a drafter can interpret in
different ways.
To sketch a drawing an idea must first be thought of. Then once the idea has been thought of the
drafter begins with a piece of graph paper and a pencil. There are no tools needed for a sketch. The
boxes on the graph paper can be used as a guide and a scale (Friedman). A sketch is just an
estimation of the real thing. So one just estimates, nothing else.
CADD is very hard to sketch in. Some of the more sophisticated programs have a function where
the mouse can act like a sketch pencil (Bethune, 13). Although this seems like it might be like the
pencil it is not. Mice are harder to keep straight and even the lightweight drawing tasks may make
the hand tired (Bethune, 13). Other ways of getting a sketch on the computer are scanners, electronic
pens or touch pads. With the electronic pen, just point at the screen and that is where the dot, line or
shape shows up. However one moves the pen is what shows up. This can be hard because a screen is
at a weird angle, which makes drawing awkward. The touch pad however can be bought to the size
of the screen. These

Creative Self Reflection
Recently I signed up to Skillshare for a free trial. It took me about a month (the trial is for two
months) to take a course. Man, I wish I would have started earlier. But, I guess it's better late than
never. I ended up choosing a course that has given me inspiration for both my personal and work
life. I want to share it with you because I think it might inspire you in a positive way as well.
The Creative Course That Teaches You To Be More Self Aware
Since starting this course, I often joke with my husband that I'm now an artist. For instance, he'll ask
me to do something, and I'll say, "I'm an artist, so I can do that!"
Of course, I'm not that great of an artist. But, this course has made me feel more creative than I've
felt in a long time.
It's called Drawing as Self Discovery: 5 Ways To Start. It's done and delivered by Mari Andrew, who
you can find on Instagram here.
Essentially she takes you through some exercises that help you reflect on your life and then draw out
your thoughts and feelings in a really cute but meaningful way.
For instance, one of the exercises is drawing out a brain and the thoughts going through it. For me, I
had just woken up and was overthinking for the day, so I decided to draw out my 'Morning Brain'.
The beauty of doing these drawings is that you become more self–aware.
After drawing, writing, and coloring in the brain sections, I realized that a lot of my 'morning brain
problems' had to do with scheduling and planning. If I just

While I was attending one of my classes, the professor asked us a surprising question regarding our

perspective. All I wanted was to get the Bachelor degree in order to secure my future. I kept thinking
about this question for almost a week, until I realized that a person can gain more than just a degree

have also taught me how to imagine the structure of any object I see. Furthermore, I find the second
program which is C++ to be described beyond the word "entertaining". C++ is a high level language
that is used for making codes in the computer. I have never imagined that I will be capable of
creating a program that is considered a puzzle game, where you have a loop that will continue until
you get the correct answer and then it shows you a specific message that says for example
"Winner!". There are more complicated questions and tricks that require a lot of thinking and
concentrating. These types of materials are certainly going to expand our thoughts to be creative and
successful engineers.
Engaging with students from different cultures in groups is a huge step that I made during this
semester. Working in groups helped me develop my thoughts to create the best ideas. For instance,
we had two projects this semester that were worth 25% of our total grade in Introduction to
Engineering. The professor gave us

the least expensive on the ship. They also may feel that a stateroom "is only a place to sleep." Late
sleepers like inside staterooms because early daylight won't disturb them.
Suites are the most expensive accommodations on a ship. Some vessels have only a few, others
boast an entire upper, conciergelike deck madeup of larger staterooms and/or suites. By the
traditional definition, a suite should feature a living room, a sleeping room and a bathroom. This is

When cruise clients and travel agents study a deck plan, they should carefully examine the
relationship of a stateroom to the ship's public places,
Miscellaneous Considerations
What else should you know about cruise ships? Here are some thoughts:
* A ship's "registry" usually has nothing to do with where the line is headquartered. Financial, legal,
labor, and routing concerns tend to dictate the shup's registry. The name of the country where the
ship is registered is usually painted on the exterior of the vessel's stern and the ship flies that
country's flag.(This is called flag of convenience.) * On some ships smoking is permitted almost
everywhere onboard. On most its limited to certain officially designated places. One or two ships are
smoke–free. * Where do ships go when they "retire"? Some are turned into scraped metal(mostly in
India). Others are "parked" at ports(especially in Greece and in Bahamas), with the hope that
someone will buy, refurbish, and return them to active cruising. * Each year the CDC conducts
about two passengers and that calls on U.S. ports. The inspectors look for potentially hazardous
conditions, such as improperly stored food, poor food preparation and display procedures, and the
like. The CDC gives

Work Experience 4
Lastly, I was involved with drafting and editing of engineering drawings. This is needed and
essential in almost all engineering sector to communicates ideas and all needed information from the
engineer to the manufacturer. Another important item would be the Engineering orders (EO), which
are used for changes in components, assemblies, or documents such as processes and work
instructions.
I started out with doing EO. As mentioned before, while assembling and inspecting, some mistakes
could be found and were corrected. As such, I had to do an EO for a few components. Being new, I
had the help from the staffs here, especially on the required standards on the EO. Through this, I
learnt of the importance of tolerance, projection view and the decimal places. The same applied for
engineering drawing.

Prairie Meadows Scholarship
I would like to pursue a career as an architectural drafter and a drafting engineer. The Prairie

after college. This is my dream job. I love taking architectural and engineer drafting classes at
school. My parents always told me to get a job that I would enjoy so I would be happy to go to
work. Architecture is something that I enjoy doing and would like to make a career out of. I have
always been fascinated with the way that floor plans are drawn out and how blueprints are laid out.

back to my community by designing the floor plans for houses in my town. I will be able to give
each person a personalized floor plan to make every house different. I would also try to design the
floor plans for new buildings and business. As a kid, my parents taught me to give back to others
especially when someone in your community needs help. I would also be able to give money to

I have always had a passion for art and design. Starting around age seven I really started to enjoy
drawing. I became very interested in picking an image and trying to replicate or recreate an image as
close as I could. Once I got a little older I began taking a little more artistic control and began
adding my own style to my drawings. Now I work every day to hone in and perfect my style while
also keeping well versed in the other styles and types of drawing. I want to go to a school of art and

We will also construct a set on one of two operas "L'Enfant et les Sortileges" by Maurice Ravel or
"Lulu" by Alban Berg. The aims of the speculative project are to create a "stand alone" design that

After developing themes such as identity and animal behaviour we incorporated those ideas into
manikins which would then be presented as a potential puppet idea. Once we had a better
understanding of the operas we then selected which opera we would like to do, and what project we
would like to design on. I chose to do "Lulu" By Alban Berg as a speculative design as it was the
play I understood the most, I also wanted to develop my process and craftsmanship skills.
After researching the play, I created a scene summery and a character list to refer to while designing.
I also created a storyboard of scenes of significance which gave me an idea of who was at the
location and what was going on. I then started to develop my characters starting with a group
drawing, front, back and side drawings and Photoshop final images.
Once I had a clear image of my characters I then started to experiment within my model box for
inspiration. Once I had a few ideas I then produced some rough sketches, resulting in a final
drawing. I then produced my set on auto cad so I had a good idea of scale and measurements
resulting in a final orthographic, side elevation and cutting list. After I had my measurements and
rough drawings I then drew out the theatre royal in sketch–up and did a scene by scene breakdown
of the opera. With this visual aid I then started my set construction.

Innovative Approach With Cookie Cutter And / Or Outdated...
We understand that this project requires a unique and innovative approach to Public Education and
Outreach, not a "one size fits all" approach with cookie cutter and/or outdated techniques. The best
management practices that we will provide in the Summary Document will not only focus on how to
best meet the objectives and present the deliverables for this Task, but also outline how to keep the
information fresh and relevant so that stakeholders and other interested parties will be engaged
throughout the process.
Five recently noted innovations in public outreach for projects similar in scope to this Plan Update
include: process–as–event, on–the–ground, real time, early wins, and accessible materials. A brief
description of each follows:
Process–As–Event – planning meetings worth attending: Where traditional public meetings may not
be well–attended (not sure if the current plan meetings are well–attended? If so, please edit/delete)
or provide participants with a hands–on level of interaction, meetings couched as "events" can be
held to facilitate open discussion and increase buy–in for those who are involved. To achieve
sustained interest from meeting participants, and in an ideal scenario have them become champions
of the cause, proper and ongoing engagement is key. Many people have very busy schedules with
time commitments that make it difficult (or just not desirable) to attend a traditional public meeting.
The meetings should be presented as more than just information

Ictober Research Papers
The ink left nothing untouched, staining and smudging the table, scratch paper, and even my hand. A
mess of paper and ink surrounded me, but only one area was left organized. My sketchbook that I
filled with meticulous work and effort for the past 30 days stared back at me. Thirty days of work
filled the sketchbook to the brim, both the good and bad. I finally finished the final piece– I had
completed InkTober.
InkTober is a social media phenomenon that took the artist world by storm. For every day of
October, you are to make one drawing that incorporates ink in its media. The theme or subject of
drawing is completely up to the artist, as long as the piece has ink– colored or black– then it fits
right into InkTober. Then, once you're satisfied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of my pieces consisted of fanart or simple original pieces exploring inking styles. I admittedly
favored one series, Love Live!, over the others, but I was grateful for the inspiration. Some drawings
I practiced perspective and colors, like the first and fourth day respectively, others I tested styles of
shading and texture. Going from a pencil sketch, to simple lining, and finally to detailed inking was
a fulfilling experience.
I would finish inking the drawing for the day and quickly sketch an outline for the following day in
pencil. This schedule was helpful and time efficient since the most time consuming part of drawing
is figuring out what to draw and how to start it. However, I could only do this due to the leniency of
my school schedule and sparse amount of homework at that time. So when work started picking up
at school two weeks into October, it became a struggle to finish one day's drawing, not to mention
preparing for the following days.
The output and quality of my art in the middle of the month took a drop as I began studying for
tests, in–class writings, and the PSAT. It was at this time that Inktober became a real challenge. Not
only do you have to plan and compose a drawing, but you have to manage your schedule and make
time to do so. Unlike professional artists or people with flexible jobs, students are hard–pressed with
their school schedule and extracurricular

I was sitting in my classroom during art class, about 5 to 6 years ago.I was in third grade and I wasn't
the best at doing much.It was freezing outside that day and going outside wasn't an option so we had
to stay inside during recess.I was about 7 or 8 and because of a storm outside, we had to stay in our
classes after lunch. Our teacher had felt bad we couldn't go outside, and said we can do one of the
following: Play with clay,Color in one of the what had to have been hundreds of coloring books,or

the front of the room. After i had gotten my paper, i sat back down, grabbing my pencil and bringing
the sharp edge to the paper.
I sat there for the first 30 minutes of class,i was half asleep and wanted to go home.when class
ended, and my boredom ended,I picked up my paper and was just about to throw it away, not thinking

it,as she hadn't seen a student in her class draw so neatly and only be in third grade (or at least that
what she said to me which i didn't really believe since she had said it to a different student before).

disbelief and continued to walk throughout my house, showing my dad, sisters, and my aunts who
were visiting that week. The adults all thought i had copied it and ignored them all,but the smaller

The design brief for the timber tray is to design and manufacture a rectangular timber tray where it

2. Drawings: This may include freehand sketches and orthographic drawings.

To able to complete the project of the timber tray materials were used to manufacture a perfect
rectangular timber tray. The materials involved are garnet paper (80, 120 and 180), PVA glue,

These pieces were then nail together and a template was used to create the curved lines for the
timber tray and it showed how the pacific maple would end up like. The two–piece of woods were
then trimmed with a jigsaw and further trimmed with the band saw. The pacific maples were then
sanded to remove the marks created from the band saw. After that, two shorter pieces were chosen
and the same steps were applied. The two pieces were nailed and using a template the handles of the
timber tray were drawn. The drill press was then used to drill holes into the two pieces and then the
handles were made from using a jigsaw. The jigsaw sawed off the wood in marked area from the
template. The pair of handles were sanded to take of any sharp edges and to make the handle
smooth. Both pairs of wood were taken apart so there would be four pieces of wood, two long and
two short. Then the finger joint were made using the finger jointing machine (trimmer router) were
when cutting the joint for the shorter pieces, the end of the longer piece was put up against the
shorter piece and then that was drilled to create the finger joints. Once this process was done, the
four pieces were joined up to create the timber frame. This frame was then glued together using PVA
glue. A plywood base was then picked and the frame was marked on the plywood using a pencil.
The base and the frame were put together with a thin layer of PVA glue and then reinforced with
twelve–millimeter nails. The base had four nails along the length and three nails on the width. Nails
weren't nailed in the corners because it could nail into the joint, which would separate the joint and
create a gap in the joint. Once the glue had dried the timber tray was put on the linisher and the
timber tray was sanded to remove bits created by the linisher. After that, linseed oil was applied to
the timber tray. Once the oiling process was

Age-Distributed Stages Of Art Development
Anyone who spends time with children knows they draw all the time. On paper, on tables, on
themselves; children constantly explore their world through mark making and scribbling. Children
can use art to help them develop other cognitive skills such as writing or anger management; and
although every child progresses differently, this paper discusses the possibility of universal, age–
correlated stages of art development.
Perhaps the most notable analysis in the stages of development comes from the work of Marcia
Baghban (2007) who studied the link between drawing and writing in early childhood. Baghban
hypothesized that children use writing and drawing as a tool for thinking, organizing ideas, and
understanding experiences. In addition, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robyn Holmes conducted a study in order to discover if children's artwork could reveal their
"knowledge of nonverbal communication and social distance" (Holmes, 1992, p. 157). The
researchers asked 32 middle class children (half were 5 years old, half were 11) to draw two
separate pictures: one with themselves and a stranger, one of themselves and a friend. The
researchers hypothesized that children would draw strangers further away from themselves than
friends, and that older children would draw the stranger farther apart than young children. The
researchers measured distance between the figures in centimeters from the eye line of one face to the
eyeline of the other face. The results indicated that "younger children drew strangers farther apart
than older children" and that while younger girls and boys drew strangers the same distance apart,
girls drew themselves closer to their friends (Holmes, 1992, p. 160). However, contrary to the
hypothesis, older children drew themselves closer to a stranger than younger children. Perhaps
because parents and teachers continually warn young children about 'stranger danger.' The study
concluded that children realize that strangers should stand further apart than friends, and that factors
of familiarity and age affect the children's expression of nonverbal communication, supporting the
hypothesis

but I do not know what my future holds. No matter what is happening I want to understand that I

I always worry that when my life is no longer in a state of ease and only academic stress plagues my

In fifth grade my fear of being trapped became too strong for me to handle on my own. I hated being
stuck in a room full of people with no way out. Sitting in a chair at a desk may as well have been a
jail sell to my ten year old self. I would do anything not to be imprisoned in a classroom with the
evil teacher who plotted my mental demise into her detailed lesson plans each night. I had panic
attacks at night when I looked at the school day which daunted my near future, and I would kick and
cry in first terror, then rage as we pulled onto the black asphalt which reeked of freedoms death.
Planning on being like every other child was worthless at this point. Through this time, though it
seemed it would never end, I learned incredible values. I planned to never go to sleepovers like the
typical ten–year–old, go on a date as was common for teenagers, or even go to college as the rest of
the world did. While my plans were shattered, God's plans were just beginning. Nonetheless, before
He could make changes in my life, He had to teach me a lesson in my purpose on this earth. My
purpose is not to follow my idea of how my life should go, rather it is to Glorify Him, do His will
and remember I am His.

Designing A Garment From A Technical Drawing
Designing has always been my expression way through different channels like painting, illustration,
puppet making, costume design creating a garment from a technical drawing. Briefly, I have started
learning the meaning of design term as a narrowed down topic that comes from the visual,
sensational and artistic side. In the art and design disciplines, there is no need asking other 's
opinions to complete an artwork. I mean Leonardo or Picasso had never asked help from someone
else to finish his painting, as far as we know! Also, in the art and design schools, no one could get
help to finish his project because, it counted as plagiarism, so this situation grows individualism. But
at the same we need to grow observation ability to get inspired. When I get in business life as a
fashion designer, I need to be in collaboration with different types of people who come from
different backgrounds, such as buyers, manufacturers, pattern makers and so on to get the job
done.It has positive and negative effects, for instance, I can learn different things from different
people but at the end I need to apply people 's decisions such as buyers or investors with my own
technique because, allegedly they exactly know the last year 's best selling items and there is no
need to submit something different from the current designs, otherwise it will be ' 'risky ' '. From the
fabric to the design everything stays nearly same just to keep selling without any risk. But, instead
of complaining

Archicad Essay
AutoCAD vs. ArchiCAD in Architecture Architectural design today has moved from designing by
hand to designing with several different software programs that have made the job much easier. Two
of the main programs in many architectural firms today are AutoCAD2000 and ArchiCAD 6.5. Both
are very productive design tools but each has its own defects in certain areas of the design process.
Design processes today have been reversed from designing from the inside to the outside, to
designing from the outside to the inside. Most designing today is based on the actual structural
appearance one will perceive from the exterior, rather than the functional use of the interior;
although both are taken into consideration. AutoCAD is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One only produces a plan drawing when one has resolved the elevations and layouts. A plan really
needs to grow out of the functional and aesthetic requirements of a project. Yet ArchiCAD
constrains one to work in plan from the start; from this the other views are created. This is great for
documentation but very constraining for the design process. AutoCAD bypasses this problem better
by showing a simultaneous plan, multiple elevations and sections, and of most importance, make the
editing tools available in all views. For example, a parapet wall can be created by shaping the wall
in an elevational view, where as in ArchiCAD, one can either create it as a shaped library object to
be inserted where required or construct a false roof of the right height and pitch to which the wall
can be trimmed. This demonstrates that AutoCAD is easier to use in this aspect. The current sections
and elevations in AutoCAD are only usable to trace over because they are missing a proper layer
structure and the possibility to be edited while still linked to the model. For instance, one should be
able to add the windowsills on the elevations, even if they do not appear in the three–dimensional
mode. Or one should be able to compositionally crosshatch an elevation and have the hatch adjusted
if the model is changed. One should also be able to add things such as dimensions and annotations

Once they saw the picture, they stood there speechless just looking at me and the drawing. When
they finally said something. They said that it was meh. I was once again devastated by what they
had said. This time I was sure that I had gotten them to change their minds. I actually thought that
this would be the one to shut them down. So, I went back to the drawing boards and wondered about
what it was that I had messed up on. I sat there looking down at the drawing, when I noticed that it
looked like it had been rushed. It was covered with curved and out of sync lines. The eraser marks
made the picture look all dark and muddy with all of the smudges that they had left. I finally
realized what was so wrong with my draws. I had rushed all of them.
At this point, I didn't know what to do. I had hit a roadblock with nowhere to turn. I felt like my
dreams were over and that I would never be able to animate my ideas. The next couple of months I
spent my time on other things as I looked for a new pasion. But, none could fill the emptiness of
drawing. The joys of sending your ideas down the pencil expressway to its stop at paperway station.
It felt amazing and nothing could replace that feeling for me. So, I thought that I would give it
another go and this time I would take my time.
Once again I was back at it, only this time I would be rolling down a snail's pace and drawing with
ease. After every correction, I would wipe off the eraser

Chapter 2 The Genesis
Bernhard hoesli and the Process of Design
It is the spring of 1982;the venue, the auditorium of the School of Architectre,University of Texas at
Arlington.Bernhard Hoesli is speaking to a capacity crowd;his first lecture in Texas since his
departure from Austin in the summer of 1957. I have arrived late, having driven the 350miles from
San Antonio to the Dallas–Fort Worth area.Though there is a substantial contingent of young
architecture students for whom the lecture is only one of a series, glancing around I reacquaint
myself with the older faces;the balding, graying heads in the hall––––Duane Landry and Jane Lorenz
Landry,Bill Odum,Bill Booziotes,Rik Mcbride,and many,many others–––all former students of
his,and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1944 he graduated from the ETH in architectur.Following the war,in 1947,he left Zurich for Paris
where, after briefly working in the atelier of the painter Fernand Leger,he was accepted by Le
Corbusier as an assistant at the Rue de Sevres. There he wasassigned two projects that were to figure
heavily in his later thinking as a teacher and acrchitect.In1948 he worked on the design of the Villa
Currutchet located in Rio Plato,Brazil;and in 1949 Le Corbusier, obviously impressed with the
abilities of this neophyte Swiss architect, appointed him project architect for the United
Habitation, relocating HoeslitoMarseilles to manage and oversee the construction there of his own
first major postwar work*2. The Villa Currutchet,a small urban infill project containing office and
living quarters, epitomizes a type of Corbusian synthesis that had its origins in the Maison Domino
and the Villa Carthage of the 1920s,that is,the combination of the plan libre and the L–shaped
overlapping section,This little–known project had a stimulating effect upon the young
Hoesli, who, obviously fascinated by its spatial implications, returned again and again to it as a
touchstone in his lectures and as a point of departure–––thesubject of analysis by his students. The
incidence of the L–shaped overlapping section was to

Fashion Illustration Essay

  • 1. Fashion Illustration Essay Illustration is an art that allows to create an amazing aesthetics that is hard to remake or achieve with the same aesthetic value using digital technologies or photography because of the emotional atmosphere, transfer of mood of the work of art and detailed visualization of images. The term "illustration" itself has a several meanings, but the most known is 'art design'. In the past, illustration due to its characteristics been only associated with books and magazines as a support for a text. However, as the time passed illustration became an individual type of art that no longer need to play a supporting role for anything. This evolution leads illustration forward to the division of a broader term into narrower subtopics, which introduced the creation of fashion illustration. From that point, it was clear that fashion illustration is one of the oldest and most important movements in the history of illustration. Through the time, it has always had a touch with graphic design and fine arts, it has an undeniable influence on fashion and vice versa. Right now, it is possible to recognize another story of fashion by them because they reflect an individual and not a group view on it, unlike in photography. Throughout history, the artists through their works have tried to push the boundaries of our perception, inviting to the world of their dreams and fantasies. However, before fashion illustration was brought to life, it is initially the engravings in the 16th century are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Why Drawing Is Drawing A person can have many skills, whether it be good or bad. Someone could paint really well or could be a disastrous cook. There are many common skills such as doing underwater handstands and then there are skills that are absolutely out of the blue, for example bending their index finger backwards down the wrist. My skill isn't too common though it isn't very unique either. My skill isn't painting or cooking, or even having strangely, stretchy fingers. My skill is drawing. Drawing is one of my passions, because it is a good stress reliever and it can help express emotion. Drawing is very useful for when I'm upset and need something to boost my moralemood and is comforting for just a normal, rainy day activity. I especially draw especially when I'm bored or trying to pass time. Some people agree, and find drawing fun, but others may find it frustrating or boring. I enjoy drawing because it lets me work at my own pace. I casually sketch, whether it be for a novel or just a plain doodle, I find a way to maneuver it into random pieces of work. I could be working on notes, and sooner or later have a mural on the sides of the paper. This is funny considering that when I get an actual sketching pad, the sketches look horrible, but on a sheet of scratched up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will admit, drawing is hard when you first attempt it, but drawing is made up of building blocks. You start out with a pencil sketch, and start adding new edits and textures to make it more and more vivid and detailed. I don't usually color drawings because they look better to me in mono, but that gives me a chance to make the tiny details in the drawing a lot bigger. Drawing may come as a gifted skill to some people where they can draw perfectly when a pencil is given to them, but I find it hard to believe that without practice, a magnificent piece of art can be ... • 5. Reflection About My Personal Identity When I take a look beck on my lifetime, I see that I've changed a great deal in regards to my personal identity. For me to put entirely into words on a paper would take me days to explain how and why things went the way they did, so I'd like to shorten these feeling up. In my youth, I had clearly planned to take the superhero path through life. Professional athlete, firefighter, police officer, or basically anything portrayed in society as a model citizen, a class act if you will, all racing through my mind when thinking about my future. I was mistaking, and for good reason as I had these feelings until I was about ten years old. When the first year with two digits associated itself with my age, a certain maturity occurred. I wouldn't classify it as a life changing realization, but more of an assistant to my later discoveries. In the time I spent working with my father, albeit mostly masonry work, I began to ask questions with higher frequency. For myself, I wanted to further my knowledge, but at that time, I was really annoyed that I couldn't understand certain aspects to building such as why we used Weld–Crete on all of our bluestone patios when it seemed that we were the only masons doing anything resemblant of our process. I continued to question my father about how our creations held up and why we did certain things that seemed unnecessary. Whether we were working on a fireplace, a patio, or a sprinkler system, I was never satisfied until I understood why we took one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Memory: Similarities And Differences Of Memory And Memory I will be looking at the conceptual and technical similarities, differences and influences between the artwork of the artists that I researched and my own artwork. The topic that we were given was that of 5mm moments. From this I decided to look into the concept of dreams, nightmares and memories and how they can change us into different people. For my drawing component I drew profile faces because you can never see the true nature of a person no matter how hard you try. I person is constantly changed and characterised by their experiences. Dreams nightmares and memories change people through the experience. I decided to also change what the faces look like throughout the pictures. I decided to do this because no single person has the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The face is in greyscale which adds to the intensity of the entire thing. My artwork is also in plain colours and it adds to the intensity and adds emphasis.  An example of his work is "American Flag" which is a picture of a woman which is in greyscale with an American flag that is in its actual colours to emphasis the meaning. Paul Jenkins was a very expressionistic in the way that there was dramatic changes in colour and painting technique. The viewer also does not know where to look to see what they think they are supposed to see. There is also no definitive way to look at his artworks.  An example of his work is "The Archer" which is a painting that is impasto in some areas and the painting technique constantly changes. There seems to also be no definitive place to focus. Francoise Nielly influenced me because she had clean brushstrokes and her paintings just seemed so intense that you can't help but be attracted towards them. Like hers I wanted mine to have a definite shape to it so that the viewer could see what it was showing and for it to emphasis the intensity of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Genogram And Ethnography Analysis The overall process of drawing out my ecomap and genogram was moderately easy. I drew rough drafts of both clinical tools first before completing the final copies. I found this helpful especially for the ecomap because it allowed me to organize the different ecological impacts of my life effectively. I think the hardest part of creating this clinical tool was being able to lay it out so that things that should be connected were close to each other. I liked drawing the ecomap because it was interesting to see different aspects of my life connected to each other. Thinking of the different parts of my life that I come in contact with came easily to me. In terms of completing the genogram, because I have relatively small family, this was not that ... • 11. Can You Tell Us Little About Project Where You Are? Can you tell us a little about yourself and your time at Beck? Can you tell us little about project where you are? o I've been with Beck nine years this summer, my first experience with the company was an internship on the Fellowship Church Camp in Hawkins. I'm currently an assistant project manager at the Southern Methodist University's aquatic center and responsible for the pool and building's MEP systems. The building is unique in that the majority of space is one big open volume; there wasn't a lot of coordination to do above ceiling. In addition, we had a minimal amount of duct above the open space but still had to coordinate the structure side of things in that area. How were you made aware of 3d coordination available on job? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By using a three dimensional "draft" model, we were able to adjust the reinforcing to account for hanger locations before the traditional coordination process was complete. This was critical as there were only tolerances of four inches at sixteen inch intervals. We are currently installing these systems and having this information available has drastically cut down on our installation time. By using the coordination process do you feel there was more collaboration with the subcontractors and architects/engineers on the project? Did you learn something new? o I believe from the subcontractor standpoint there is more engagement and cooperation; this led to establishing relationships earlier and leading to an effective job start–off. Beck was able to engage the architects on this project by fully coordinating the RCP plans leading to decreased installation times in the field. We were able to catch several discrepancies in the design and resolve these issues before they were manifested. In fact, one of the principals from the architecture firm noticed the effort and complemented Beck for our endeavors. It was a positive experience to get this feedback from the firm opposed the usual hostilities you sometimes receive from architects. On the learning side, just learning how to efficiently drive the model was significant. From a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ashley Sims Drawing Ashley Sims was born in Arcadia, Florida and studied art at South Florida State College as well as Greenville Technical College in South Carolina where Sims is currently in college, majoring in art education. The theme of the collection being shown is to show the importance of a well rounded education when it comes to the field of drawing. The importance of this theme is that each drawing is an example of a different concept of drawing, Though multiple concepts are sometimes included in the same drawing there will always be a main focus that teaches a new lesson and learning these is imperative for any artist. The media used on these drawings are graphite, charcoal, ink wash, and prisma pencil. Project one, is of an orange. Sims follows this theme by experimenting with mixed media. She uses graphite, charcoal, and ink wash as well as 11 media processes in the creation of this piece including, hatching, cross hatching, scribbling, tortillion marks and many more. Overall, any drawing that is created will have at least one of the concepts shown in this collection. It does not matter whether the image is hundreds of years old or will not be created for another hundred years. To be a successful drawing, it will have to contain at least one of these ... The Time Series By Patricia March SBA Task 3 Conclusive Research Essay Chanelle Botha 12k An investigation on the use of ink and charcoal as a medium, as well as movement over time, in the Time Series by Patricia March. The works of Patricia March are predominantly charcoal works, with smaller aspects of ink, whilst portraying insight of character, as well as how the body moves over a period of time. March uses the perception of a figure moving, portraying the figure on one picture plane; but moving, as if this were over a period of time. Figures appear walking or picking up an object and this is portrayed as one character becoming three. In each different movement the figure is in a different position, as if moving like in a real life situation. This reinforces the name of her series, Time, as it literally perceives a figure or a few figures and their movements over a period of time. March studied a master in cinematography. She was interested in movement and time, so since, she tried to apply her vision about cinema into drawings. Thesis Statement Of Architectural Drawing CHAPTER 1: THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Introduction "An artist can make a cart with square wheels, but an architect can't" – Louis Kahn, American Architect. An architectural drawing is a technical drawing of a structure or building. These are used by architects to develop a design, to communicate their ideas and concepts, to convince clients, to enable a building contractor to construct it, and to make a record of a building that already exists. Why The Prodigy Artist Is Intrigued By Them Question 2 Leung Ka Ho (s1659467) RAPHAEL, LETTER TO POPE LEO X, ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS: WHY THE PRODIGY PAINTER IS INTRIGUED BY THEM Architectural drawings, despite its many crude forms, has existed long before the time of the Italian painter–architect Raphael Sanzio da Urbino. Nevertheless, with reference to Wolfgang Lotz, the prodigy painter's letter to Pope Leo X has been regarded as the trailblazer of "the rendering of interior in architectural drawings". Such fundamental foundations to architectural drawings are in fact the collaborative work of Raphael and several individuals, more specifically intimate friend humanist Baldassare Castiglione, translator of Vitruvius' De Architectura Fabio Calvo and teams of scholars due to his inept expression through literal means. As a result, at least three versions of the letter are created (in chronological order of the date of publication or discovery) : a now–lost manuscript owned by Scipione Maffei in a collection of works of Baldassare Castiglione published by the Giovanni Antonio and Gaetano Volpi in Padua (1733); a Munich manuscript published in 1847; and a draft with the first parts of the letter that could decipher the complete text surfaced in the Castiglione family archives in Mantua and later published in 1910. The letter sets up the rudimentary foundations for architectural drawings to flourish and its significance is twofold: to depict Renaissance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I started drawing as my hobby since I was four, and I keep drawing till present. I continued my passion and now as a Electronic Design and Multimedia major. In my opinion, one passionated about something, means one could pay his life time and effort to it. This is what design means to me. More importantly, the most meaningful achievements have altered me as a better designer, no matter success or failure, The first achievement leads me to drawing, was all about my father. Sixteen years ago, when I was still four years old, I have had my morning breakfast with my family in Hong Kong. Hong Kongers love having Chinese tea on a relaxing morning. Meanwhile, I was not old enough to taste the beauty of tea, or curious enough to heated topics on newspaper, not to mention about smartphone. I have nothing to do. Then I saw a snack shore's cute reddish bird mascot on a piece of newspaper. I have tried to draw it with my blue pen on my tiny hand, but no matter how I drew, all the strokes messed. Suddenly a pair of well–trained hand took my pen, and made a perfect demonstration. At least for a four year old me, it was too perfect. My father projected me a confident smile. • 27. Descriptive Essay About Art Art is a form of expression that I could never abandon in my life. I became an artist at a young age, and I can still remember the day art came into my life like angel sent straight from God. It was my first time watching my Pops draw a portrait. It was around noon on Saturday in the summer because the 'noon' heat was almost unearthly. However the vibe in our small two bedroom apartment was absolutely groovy and cool. Pops was playing the oldies from the 70's. " Sweet love, my sweet love you'll be crying out my name", I heard as the talented Anita Baker filled my home's walls with even more soul! He was drawing a self portrait. The detail in the drawing was so hyper realistic. At the time I did not know that it was a self portrait. I thought it was just a black man with his hands placed both sides of his head as if inside he was going crazy inside. My pops hands moved so smoothly as if each finger had a tiny brain in the tip where the pencil touched. I was around 8 years old at the time. From that moment I knew I would want to be an artist, because that type of expression seemed best for my dad. I always paid attention to the early teachings from the big guy. The cleanliness of the lines that my dad had , it almost seemed as if he was a surgeon of the paper. He would start with this blank piece paper and hours later it would become a piece of his life , and in some ways it would become a major part of mine. Humans have always been designing and throughout human history drafting is what became of it. With new technology in building during the earlier years drafting needed to be changed to accommodate it. Humans have always been able to find better ways to accomplish things. Drafting is no different. Before people used tools to draw something they went to what we call now a "General Contractor" with an idea and he had to come up with the rest. After a while the contractors wanted more. Just an idea wasn't enough for them. Their clients sometimes wouldn't like what they had built for them. So eventually the contractors asked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is difficult to sketch on the computer because the computer is so accurate (Friedman). It is not a good idea to draw a sketch accurately because between a sketch and the final drawing things change drastically (Friedman). So it shouldn't be perfect. It should be something a drafter can interpret in different ways. To sketch a drawing an idea must first be thought of. Then once the idea has been thought of the drafter begins with a piece of graph paper and a pencil. There are no tools needed for a sketch. The boxes on the graph paper can be used as a guide and a scale (Friedman). A sketch is just an estimation of the real thing. So one just estimates, nothing else. CADD is very hard to sketch in. Some of the more sophisticated programs have a function where the mouse can act like a sketch pencil (Bethune, 13). Although this seems like it might be like the pencil it is not. Mice are harder to keep straight and even the lightweight drawing tasks may make the hand tired (Bethune, 13). Other ways of getting a sketch on the computer are scanners, electronic pens or touch pads. With the electronic pen, just point at the screen and that is where the dot, line or shape shows up. However one moves the pen is what shows up. This can be hard because a screen is at a weird angle, which makes drawing awkward. The touch pad however can be bought to the size of the screen. Man, I wish I would have started earlier. But, I guess it's better late than never. I ended up choosing a course that has given me inspiration for both my personal and work life. I want to share it with you because I think it might inspire you in a positive way as well. The Creative Course That Teaches You To Be More Self Aware Since starting this course, I often joke with my husband that I'm now an artist. For instance, he'll ask me to do something, and I'll say, "I'm an artist, so I can do that!" Of course, I'm not that great of an artist. But, this course has made me feel more creative than I've felt in a long time. It's called Drawing as Self Discovery: 5 Ways To Start. It's done and delivered by Mari Andrew, who you can find on Instagram here. Essentially she takes you through some exercises that help you reflect on your life and then draw out your thoughts and feelings in a really cute but meaningful way. For instance, one of the exercises is drawing out a brain and the thoughts going through it. For me, I had just woken up and was overthinking for the day, so I decided to draw out my 'Morning Brain'. The beauty of doing these drawings is that you become more self–aware. After drawing, writing, and coloring in the brain sections, I realized that a lot of my 'morning brain problems' had to do with scheduling and planning. If I just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Here are some thoughts: * A ship's "registry" usually has nothing to do with where the line is headquartered. Financial, legal, labor, and routing concerns tend to dictate the shup's registry. The name of the country where the ship is registered is usually painted on the exterior of the vessel's stern and the ship flies that country's flag.(This is called flag of convenience.) * On some ships smoking is permitted almost everywhere onboard. On most its limited to certain officially designated places. One or two ships are smoke–free. * Where do ships go when they "retire"? Some are turned into scraped metal(mostly in India). Others are "parked" at ports(especially in Greece and in Bahamas), with the hope that someone will buy, refurbish, and return them to active cruising. * Each year the CDC conducts about two passengers and that calls on U.S. ports. I love the city and I would love to live on campus so that I could absorb all that it has to offer. I feel like I could greatly benefit from all of the amenities as well, including the 24 hour a day art studios. I've never seen a school have so many outlets for art and ways to communicate and intertwine with people of other majors to create something bigger and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This document will provide context for my designs and practical work evidenced in my journal and blog. In this project I will explore Juxtaposing themes, musical and dramatic styles and characters through research, planning and execution. We will also construct a set on one of two operas "L'Enfant et les Sortileges" by Maurice Ravel or "Lulu" by Alban Berg. The aims of the speculative project are to create a "stand alone" design that will fit in NO 1 touring theatres that takes account of the orchestra pit and a one day fit up and six– hour strike. Alongside this we will design costumes for principle and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After developing themes such as identity and animal behaviour we incorporated those ideas into manikins which would then be presented as a potential puppet idea. Once we had a better understanding of the operas we then selected which opera we would like to do, and what project we would like to design on. I chose to do "Lulu" By Alban Berg as a speculative design as it was the play I understood the most, I also wanted to develop my process and craftsmanship skills. After researching the play, I created a scene summery and a character list to refer to while designing. I also created a storyboard of scenes of significance which gave me an idea of who was at the location and what was going on. I then started to develop my characters starting with a group drawing, front, back and side drawings and Photoshop final images. Once I had a clear image of my characters I then started to experiment within my model box for inspiration. Once I had a few ideas I then produced some rough sketches, resulting in a final drawing. I then produced my set on auto cad so I had a good idea of scale and measurements resulting in a final orthographic, side elevation and cutting list. After I had my measurements and rough drawings I then drew out the theatre royal in sketch–up and did a scene by scene breakdown of the opera. With this visual aid I then started my set construction. • 54. Innovative Approach With Cookie Cutter And / Or Outdated... We understand that this project requires a unique and innovative approach to Public Education and Outreach, not a "one size fits all" approach with cookie cutter and/or outdated techniques. The best management practices that we will provide in the Summary Document will not only focus on how to best meet the objectives and present the deliverables for this Task, but also outline how to keep the information fresh and relevant so that stakeholders and other interested parties will be engaged throughout the process. Five recently noted innovations in public outreach for projects similar in scope to this Plan Update include: process–as–event, on–the–ground, real time, early wins, and accessible materials. A brief description of each follows: Process–As–Event – planning meetings worth attending: Where traditional public meetings may not be well–attended (not sure if the current plan meetings are well–attended? If so, please edit/delete) or provide participants with a hands–on level of interaction, meetings couched as "events" can be held to facilitate open discussion and increase buy–in for those who are involved. To achieve sustained interest from meeting participants, and in an ideal scenario have them become champions of the cause, proper and ongoing engagement is key. Many people have very busy schedules with time commitments that make it difficult (or just not desirable) to attend a traditional public meeting. The meetings should be presented as more than just information ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A mess of paper and ink surrounded me, but only one area was left organized. My sketchbook that I filled with meticulous work and effort for the past 30 days stared back at me. Thirty days of work filled the sketchbook to the brim, both the good and bad. I finally finished the final piece– I had completed InkTober. InkTober is a social media phenomenon that took the artist world by storm. For every day of October, you are to make one drawing that incorporates ink in its media. The theme or subject of drawing is completely up to the artist, as long as the piece has ink– colored or black– then it fits right into InkTober. Then, once you're satisfied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of my pieces consisted of fanart or simple original pieces exploring inking styles. I admittedly favored one series, Love Live!, over the others, but I was grateful for the inspiration. Some drawings I practiced perspective and colors, like the first and fourth day respectively, others I tested styles of shading and texture. Going from a pencil sketch, to simple lining, and finally to detailed inking was a fulfilling experience. I would finish inking the drawing for the day and quickly sketch an outline for the following day in pencil. This schedule was helpful and time efficient since the most time consuming part of drawing is figuring out what to draw and how to start it. However, I could only do this due to the leniency of my school schedule and sparse amount of homework at that time. So when work started picking up at school two weeks into October, it became a struggle to finish one day's drawing, not to mention preparing for the following days. The output and quality of my art in the middle of the month took a drop as I began studying for tests, in–class writings, and the PSAT. It was at this time that Inktober became a real challenge. Not only do you have to plan and compose a drawing, but you have to manage your schedule and make time to do so. I didn't Bother to join the art program and that day when my mom went to pick me up from school,I showed her the drawing. These pieces were then nail together and a template was used to create the curved lines for the timber tray and it showed how the pacific maple would end up like. The two–piece of woods were then trimmed with a jigsaw and further trimmed with the band saw. The pacific maples were then sanded to remove the marks created from the band saw. After that, two shorter pieces were chosen and the same steps were applied. The two pieces were nailed and using a template the handles of the timber tray were drawn. The drill press was then used to drill holes into the two pieces and then the handles were made from using a jigsaw. The jigsaw sawed off the wood in marked area from the template. The pair of handles were sanded to take of any sharp edges and to make the handle smooth. Both pairs of wood were taken apart so there would be four pieces of wood, two long and two short. Then the finger joint were made using the finger jointing machine (trimmer router) were when cutting the joint for the shorter pieces, the end of the longer piece was put up against the shorter piece and then that was drilled to create the finger joints. Once this process was done, the four pieces were joined up to create the timber frame. This frame was then glued together using PVA glue. A plywood base was then picked and the frame was marked on the plywood using a pencil. The base and the frame were put together with a thin layer of PVA glue and then reinforced with twelve–millimeter nails. The base had four nails along the length and three nails on the width. Nails weren't nailed in the corners because it could nail into the joint, which would separate the joint and create a gap in the joint. Once the glue had dried the timber tray was put on the linisher and the timber tray was sanded to remove bits created by the linisher. After that, linseed oil was applied to the timber tray. • 67. Age-Distributed Stages Of Art Development Anyone who spends time with children knows they draw all the time. On paper, on tables, on themselves; children constantly explore their world through mark making and scribbling. Children can use art to help them develop other cognitive skills such as writing or anger management; and although every child progresses differently, this paper discusses the possibility of universal, age– correlated stages of art development. Perhaps the most notable analysis in the stages of development comes from the work of Marcia Baghban (2007) who studied the link between drawing and writing in early childhood. Baghban hypothesized that children use writing and drawing as a tool for thinking, organizing ideas, and understanding experiences. In addition, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Robyn Holmes conducted a study in order to discover if children's artwork could reveal their "knowledge of nonverbal communication and social distance" (Holmes, 1992, p. 157). The researchers asked 32 middle class children (half were 5 years old, half were 11) to draw two separate pictures: one with themselves and a stranger, one of themselves and a friend. The researchers hypothesized that children would draw strangers further away from themselves than friends, and that older children would draw the stranger farther apart than young children. The researchers measured distance between the figures in centimeters from the eye line of one face to the eyeline of the other face. The results indicated that "younger children drew strangers farther apart than older children" and that while younger girls and boys drew strangers the same distance apart, girls drew themselves closer to their friends (Holmes, 1992, p. 160). However, contrary to the hypothesis, older children drew themselves closer to a stranger than younger children. Perhaps because parents and teachers continually warn young children about 'stranger danger.' The study concluded that children realize that strangers should stand further apart than friends, and that factors of familiarity and age affect the children's expression of nonverbal communication, supporting the hypothesis ... I would do anything not to be imprisoned in a classroom with the evil teacher who plotted my mental demise into her detailed lesson plans each night. I had panic attacks at night when I looked at the school day which daunted my near future, and I would kick and cry in first terror, then rage as we pulled onto the black asphalt which reeked of freedoms death. Planning on being like every other child was worthless at this point. Through this time, though it seemed it would never end, I learned incredible values. I planned to never go to sleepovers like the typical ten–year–old, go on a date as was common for teenagers, or even go to college as the rest of the world did. While my plans were shattered, God's plans were just beginning. Nonetheless, before He could make changes in my life, He had to teach me a lesson in my purpose on this earth. My purpose is not to follow my idea of how my life should go, rather it is to Glorify Him, do His will and remember I am His. We are told in Genesis 1:27 that we are made in His great image, and reminded through Jesus in Luke 20: 24–25, that we are God's and we owe Him ourselves for His work and His glory. Designing A Garment From A Technical Drawing Designing has always been my expression way through different channels like painting, illustration, puppet making, costume design creating a garment from a technical drawing. Briefly, I have started learning the meaning of design term as a narrowed down topic that comes from the visual, sensational and artistic side. In the art and design disciplines, there is no need asking other 's opinions to complete an artwork. I mean Leonardo or Picasso had never asked help from someone else to finish his painting, as far as we know! Also, in the art and design schools, no one could get help to finish his project because, it counted as plagiarism, so this situation grows individualism. But at the same we need to grow observation ability to get inspired. When I get in business life as a fashion designer, I need to be in collaboration with different types of people who come from different backgrounds, such as buyers, manufacturers, pattern makers and so on to get the job done.It has positive and negative effects, for instance, I can learn different things from different people but at the end I need to apply people 's decisions such as buyers or investors with my own technique because, allegedly they exactly know the last year 's best selling items and there is no need to submit something different from the current designs, otherwise it will be ' 'risky ' '. • 73. Archicad Essay AutoCAD vs. ArchiCAD in Architecture Architectural design today has moved from designing by hand to designing with several different software programs that have made the job much easier. Two of the main programs in many architectural firms today are AutoCAD2000 and ArchiCAD 6.5. Both are very productive design tools but each has its own defects in certain areas of the design process. Design processes today have been reversed from designing from the inside to the outside, to designing from the outside to the inside. Most designing today is based on the actual structural appearance one will perceive from the exterior, rather than the functional use of the interior; although both are taken into consideration. AutoCAD is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One only produces a plan drawing when one has resolved the elevations and layouts. A plan really needs to grow out of the functional and aesthetic requirements of a project. Yet ArchiCAD constrains one to work in plan from the start; from this the other views are created. This is great for documentation but very constraining for the design process. AutoCAD bypasses this problem better by showing a simultaneous plan, multiple elevations and sections, and of most importance, make the editing tools available in all views. For example, a parapet wall can be created by shaping the wall in an elevational view, where as in ArchiCAD, one can either create it as a shaped library object to be inserted where required or construct a false roof of the right height and pitch to which the wall can be trimmed. This demonstrates that AutoCAD is easier to use in this aspect. The current sections and elevations in AutoCAD are only usable to trace over because they are missing a proper layer structure and the possibility to be edited while still linked to the model. For instance, one should be able to add the windowsills on the elevations, even if they do not appear in the three–dimensional mode. Or one should be able to compositionally crosshatch an elevation and have the hatch adjusted if the model is changed. One should also be able to add things such as dimensions and annotations without having to add them in paper space, have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
