1. I think that the ideas i want to create such as my actor
sitting on a bench looking at the landscape fit well into
the codes and conventions of the indie genre that my
song I have chosen is. I think that shots like that as well as
point of view shots again tie in well to the codes and
conventions as with the point of views it makes us as an
audience see what the actor is seeing and tries to relate
that to the lyrics of the song which is applying Goodwin’s
theory of visuals linking to the lyrics and also could relate
to the audience to an extent.
I also feel that the use of time lapse will work
well in the song I have chosen; This is because
other than time lapses tying into the codes and
conventions of the indie genre it also ties into
the theme of the song which is time passing so
through the use of having a time lapse of a
clock face or people moving around it shows
really clearly that time is passing.

2. I want to try including shots of my actor looking at a broken
wrist watch, as the song is about time and themes around it I
want to show that my actor has lost track of time or has a lack
of knowing about it and the effects can it can have on him. I
want to have shots of my actor walking in different places
showing as if he is walking to and from places at different
points in time to create a fragmented narrative like some indie
music videos do.
I want to use shots of my actor doing things that show he is
thinking about time passing or just thinking in general about his
past, for this I want to try having him stand out looking at a river
and possibly see his reflection of run his hand through the water
and maybe have a shot of him throwing a stone into the water,
this can ink again to the codes and conventions showing that the
actor is in deep thought about himself and his actions like some
indie music videos do.
