Name of Film: The Only One Alive
Tagline: You can run you can
hide……….but will you still be alive?
Genre: Action, Psychological thriller, Drama
Target Audience: 15-18
Film Proposal:
Young 16 year old Genevieve an orphan doesn’t know her
‘foster parents’ are kidnappers. Doesn’t even know her
relatives are all dead. When she goes home by herself, she
claims she heard voices warning her. She begins to realise that
it was about her parents, but she had no idea why or what they
did that she was to be afraid of them. She decides to tell best
friend Lauren but, Lauren was so hesitant to listen to her. She
decides to talk to a shrink and tells the woman that Gen is
losing it. Lauren tells her about the things Genevieve said
about the voices in her head. She then tells Gen ‘you need help.
How can you be hearing voices?’
The next morning Gen asks her mum for lunch money but she
can’t find it anywhere. S he looks in Tinashe’s draw and finds,
birth certificate of her birth mum and dad, takes it downstairs
and confronts her. Tinashe gets angry and shouts at her, Gen
whimpers and Tinashe gives the lunch money to Gen. On her
way to school Gen is completely shocked and can’t focus on
school work. Lauren realises something is wrong and tries to
communicate to Gen, and notices she’s daydreaming. S he
decides to talk to her after school. Schools over, Lauren rushes
to get to Gen and sees, she is crying. On their way to Gen’s
house Lauren asks her ‘what’s wrong?’ Gen says my mum, she
was so rude to me today she shouted at me. They’re not my
real parents.’ They hear a scream and a gunshot, Gen peeps
through the bushes to see what had just happened. She looks at
Lauren and cries, Lauren confused, Gen then stutters and say
‘It’s………… my mum.’
Is Gen safe, or is she next. How long will she be alive?
Will is she a survivor…………no/yes.
Trailer Proposal:
- Genevieve’s first year of going to year11.
- Genevieve trying to get her lunch money and
finds her birth certificate in Tinashe’s drawer.
Also finds photos of her birth parents.
- Gen shocked from what Tinashe says and grows
more and more afraid of her
- Lauren telling Genevieve she needs to go to a
shrink to get help
- Gen crying
- The truth, about her parents coming out from the
news
- She then witnesses the murder of a young boy,
and knows it’s her mother/kidnapper.
