2. We present different social groups by having a range of different ethnicities which fit in
with the 'stereotypical' social groups.
Such as having black boys play the role of gangsters.
Social group;
A social group is a group of 2 or more people or share the same interest in
social relations. This varies from dance groups, ‘gangsters’, nerds, emo’s and so on.
Stereotype;
A stereotype is a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image of a particular
type of person or thing.
3. Young 'black' Gangster
One of the social groups that is presented in 'Anonymous' is young black gangsters, this is protrayed through 2
different characters. One of which is who the narrative is revolved around 'Curtis Watts' who is the young teenager
who has gone missing. Through little flashbacks, we get an insight of what 'Curtis's' characteristics is like, he doesnt
seem to be liked by a lot people, seems to cause a lot of trouble and is self-centered.
We can see through the way he is dressed, he seems like a 'gangster' because of the type of clothes he deicides to
wear and colour he chooses. Black tracksuits and body warmer just indicates that he is someone that likes to hang in
the street. We also portrayed is 'gangster' character by the way he talks because his dialogue consists of 'slang' and
'informal language'.
Another character that is portrayed as a 'gangster' is one of the suspects who is linked in with 'Curtis's' case 'Karl
Warner', we present him a little bit different which consists of his facial expression, dialogue and posture which
illustrates him as a violent type of 'gangster'. His body looks more built and his voice is a lot deeper. We thought that
him also wearing a black hoody will show that he is too no good and not any better than 'Curtis' because he also
reflects a young gangster.
4. Our narrative involves crime with young teens, and one of the suspects is a girl. We present her as a pretty young,
naive girl who seems innocent. However, that is clearly not the case as she is involved in the crime in some way or
another because she is linked in with the 'Curtis' who has gone missing.
We present her as a worried girl, we did this to show that girls too can be involved in crime whether they are the
main culprit or not is a different matter. Girls are usually seen as innocent and nurturing but in our film we present
our female character as sly, naive vulnerable girl.
This is shown through her facial expression, the way she talks and the storyline she uses so that the audience feel
sympathetic towards her.

5. Gangster
'Trevor' who is 'Curtis's' brother is not a typical gangster. We purposely portrayed him in that way and we did that by
changing the way he is stressed, the way he handles the intergation from the police and his posture. He doesnt seem
to be the 'typical' type of gangster and this is mainly because he is 'Curtis's' brother and is a wiser type of gangster.
We got the idea from Topboy actor 'Ashley Walters' and thought he would fit perfectly with that role. He seems a lot
more laid back and takes everything as a joke, plays smart and plays mind trick with the policeman which frustrates
him.
Both types of characters are constructed by only using the colours white and black, as those are two colours that
contradict each other in the sense ones dark and the other is light.
