To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing is letter in support of “(Name)” (Last Name), a
former student of mine at the Madera Community College
Center. This evaluation is based on our relationship between
instructor and student.
I have known (Name) for several years. Within that time
(Name) has impressed me on several levels. First, (Name)
distinguished herself by her insightful and perceptive comments
in class. On various occasions she led class discussions and
6. demonstrated herself as a leader among my students.
Secondly, (Name) has shown her commitment to her
community and culture by her work in health camps throughout
California; her volunteer work at a local Sikh temple; and
currently her work in a women’s shelter.
Finally on a more personal note (Name) has persevered and
triumphed through her own trials and tribulations. As an
immigrant to the United States at the age of twelve, (Name) has
endured the problems of an abusive arranged marriage and
managed to be the first in her immediate family to attend
college.
(Name)’s work ethic, determination and drive despite her
adversities are a vivid testament to her focus, and more
importantly, her character. Supplemented with her extensive
business background and college experience, and coupled with
her goal of becoming an attorney, (Name) is an exemplary
individual fully worthy of your support.
In closing, I support (Name) (Last Name) in any endeavor
she undertakes—she will be an asset to any school or
organization in which she joins. I support (Name) fully and
without reservation. If you wish to discuss this recommendation
for (Name) (Last Name) further, please feel free to contact me
at your convenience.
Sincerely,
