1. ABSTRACT
“Architecture and Fashion - Something in Common”, is exploring the parallels
between one of the most two influential fields in the creative design industry;
which are “Architecture” and “Fashion”. The purpose of the research work
introduced in this paper is to find the common elements between architecture and
fashion. “Design” and “Creativity” are major common elements between
architecture and fashion, where both fields involves; imagination, art,
visualisation , creativity, and skill. On the other hand, architects
develop a variety of creative design skills during their
undergraduate studies in addition to learning their major in
“Architecture”, such diversity of skills expands the realm of their
job market, so that those who did not manage to find jobs in their
field of major as architects may be able to find jobs in fields where

INTRODUCTION :
Fashion and Architecture has developed simultaneously through history
although they have had a recently generated a forced relationship. Fashion
uses architectural Studies refer to structural pieces while Architecture weaves,
“weaves”, “drapes”, and “threads” itself into the urban fabric , the lexicon is a
superficial Treatment for the apparent similarities between the two degrading
their interrelated relationship. Even in contemporary architecture examples of
a blend between the disciplines act merely as large version of fashion rather
than representing a deep understanding of the intersection of the disciplines.
Nowadays the relationship between architecture and fashion design is not
something out of the mind and imaginary. In the past century, the bond
between these two industries has gotten stronger by realization of the fact that
both are based on art, science and technology; and they are the actors who are
creating the image for people. Another essential element which both fashion
and architecture are both sharing; this element is an integrative part of these
professions that without it they would not have been existed. This important
and essential element is. Art is the foundation of these two industries that
without it not only these two, but many other professions would have lost
their meaning.
RESULTS:
If architecture is to remain convergent with culture, it needs to build mechanisms
by which culture can constantly produce new images and concepts rather than
recycle existing ones Design and creativity are major common elements between
architecture and fashion, both fields involves; imagination, art, visualisation ,
creativity, and skill. The role of Architect longer involve the entire fabric of
buildings it can mow address in less or greater depth the synergy between the
interior and exterior, from the surface of the envelope through the
entire fabric.. to the untrained eye, fashion and architecture may be
perceived to live in separate worlds , as distant cousin who share
a similar ancestry yet operate independently. In academic
institution the closest relationship they have may be that they
are housed within the same school but rarely are there courses or
modes of study to build a correlation between the Architecture
and Fashion. This suggests a superficial understanding of two
intimately related disciplines and denial of immense interdisciplinary
collaboration.
In this poster Fashion refers to industry and process of creating garments
and collections as well as to style and trends at particular point in time.

construction of a building and as reference to those with significance and

exchange the use, and interpretation of; motifs, designs, styles, and patterns
in the design of both garments and buildings.
The process of creating the design of a building from scratch is similar to
