1. Carrying out my role
This is my set-up for the event. I made sure that all my makeup was set out ready to
use quickly instead of looking through my makeup bag and wasting time. I also
propped up my portfolio of face charts so that I could turn to the correct face and
familiarise myself with the makeup look before I did it. I could then compare the
finished look to the chart in the portfolio.
Below are photographs of some of the makeup looks I did on some performers. I
asked the performers if they mind me taking pictures of the process and the finished
look, and then asked the second makeup artist to take them.
The performer in this photo wanted to look ‘bruised and
battered’, so I used brown and black earthy coloured eye
shadows to smudge on her eyes and face.
2. The performer in this photo originally wanted a ‘Black Swan’ style look, hence the
face chart, but decided that this would be too dramatic for her dance piece. We
changed her makeup look to be less dramatic but still fitting with the theme of her
dance and she was happy with the outcome. I used black and red face paint in the
end.
The performer in this photo wanted me to create a flame
effect around her eyes, so I used red, yellow and
orange eye shadows to represent a flame the best I
could.
