I would either use a Sony Xperia SP phone due to the Shutter Harris App, or use a
Fujifilm FinePix S camera that will take three separate images. Also using a Tripod,
computer and Photoshop software.
Experiment:
I will be using a Harris Shutter technique on my images; I have chosen to do it at my house because of
the fact that I can use different methods to make my images more exciting. By using face paint it will
allow me to introduce another meaning to the image. I think this is a much better idea, as I wouldn’t
have travel expenses if I went into college and instead I have the freedom to experiment with
different methods at home. When trying out different methods I will use a tripod to get a steady
image each time.
To make the Harris Shutter work I will move the model in different positions so it looks like they are
trying to escape the person that they are now and discovering who they really are as a person. I’ve
chosen this theme because it’s strong and personal to myself, by finding out who you are will connect
with a lot of people. I will not use any method on my camera if I use it because it’s better to keep the
camera on the tripod and to take different pictures every 5-10 seconds, which is the method that I’m
going to use when taking the images.
I am hoping to create a mixture of different movements in my images because this will work really
well with the Harris Shutter effect, it will give another viewpoint and give a crazy look to the model. If
the camera ends up not working or the pictures don’t turn out as good, I can buy a Harris Shutter App
on my phone which will create images with the Harris Shutter effect, this will be more convenient
because it’s easier to produce. This way I can experiment to see which body movement’s work and
which don’t. If using the camera I will go on Photoshop and find a tutorial that will help produce the
effect on my images, I am hoping to use three images that will come together in this technique. By
using the hue/saturation and opacity effect frequently on Photoshop I believe that (after practice) I
will achieve a professional image.
When taking images I realised that the person/model would have to be moving so that we get that
Harris effect, to do this I will use a fast shutter on my camera so that it captures the person in a clear
image instead of it being blurry. By using a fast shutter for each image, It will show a detailed look on
what movement looks like and when going around and practicing the movement method I will
hopefully produce images that work with the colour coordination and theme.
