2. Film editor A film editor is a person hired to assemble the footage of a feature film, a television show or a documentary. Their job includes being able to manipulate the plot, sound, graphics and score to ensure that they get the best production possible. In Hollywood some production companies hire the editor before many of the other crew members; this is because people in Hollywood recognize that the skills of a good film editor can make or break a production, they need to be able to rely on the editor to be there for the film 100%. Much like the director uses actors over and over again, they also use film editors that match their style and are comfortable with. Editors can express themselves through their unique styles. It is important that the director allows the genre to incorporate elements from which the audience will gain the most cinematic experience from, therefore making it a huge success. A director is also responsible for deciding upon the camera shots, angles lens's and lighting with the help from the cinematographer, and set design with the production designer.
