Smith and , Dudley Hughes represented
Georgia in the U.S. Congress. the President
Woodrow Wilson signed the act into law on
February 23, 1917
• FFA first started in 1928 in Kansas City's
Baltimore Hotel with 33 farm boys

• in 1935 they had 100,000 members
active in FFA
• girls were finally accepted into the
organization in 1969, also able to
hold office and participate in all
competitive competitions

created a housing process for
convention facilities

• each year nearly 55,00 FFA members
attend the national FFA convention
• FFA has a national band choir and
dance team
