THE ISSUES – BEFORE THE
EXAM
Students exhibit weakness in exam preparation, such as:
 Poor organisation of revision and failing to prepare a
timetable;
 Not being able to prioritise the most important aspects to
revise;
 Revising but not concentrating or misunderstanding what
revision is;
 Having insufficient subject notes to revise from;
 Showing uncertainty about tackling the exam itself
THE ISSUES – DURING THE
EXAM
There are a number of factors that frequently cause students to lose
marks in exams.
 Misreading the questions
 Failing to tailor answers to the number of marks;
 Extracting information inaccurately from data;
 Using subject-language inaccurately/incorrectly
 Poor spelling;
 Poor time management in the exam.
