and tone for the audience. For instance many sci-fi films have very similar
storyline. It tends to involve the unknown such as the infinite universe and
galaxies in order to create a mysterious and unrealistic feel for the audience.
This is seen in ‘Interstellar’ where astronauts travel through the unknown space
to discover a plant. Also many Sci-Fi’s include skilled human working or
combating against unusual creatures or aliens. This is particularly seen in the
movie ‘ ET ‘ which involves an alien crashing down to earth and is using the help
of a young boy to go back to his homeland. Also this is noted in star wars: The
Phantom Menace, which involves humans and unusual creatures to work
together to defeat evil enemies causing chaos.
Many sci-fi films share similar characters and their traits. They tend to involve
extraordinary humans and abnormal looking creatures that do not exist which
contributes to the originality of Sci-Fi’s. This is exceptionally seen in Star wars,
which includes powerful human beings and strange creatures. Also they share
similar traits and personality, for instance in ‘Interstellar ’ and ‘ forbidden
planet’ it involves scientists who are adventurous and daring as they are willing
to enter the unknown and discover something new that humans have yet to
understand and see.
Sci-Fi’s films also have common settings. Typically most movies contain outer
space and the earth. In ‘ interstellar ’ the film is filmed on a green screen
mimicking space to create the feel of Sci-Fi and to make the movie more realistic
for the audience. Also ‘Guardians of the galaxy ‘ featured many scenes in space
however in comparison to ‘ Interstellar ‘ this film has is more fictional and
unrealistic than ‘Interstellar’ as many scenes included fictional characters and
equipment’s.
