The SUNY Oswego Online Strategic Plan Steering Committee is charged to
develop an Online Strategic Plan for SUNY Oswego, spanning the next 3 years,
guided by the Tomorrow - Greater Impact and Success Plan and supported by
the Digital Campus - Technology for an Enhanced Tomorrow Plan.
The Steering Committee will develop an Online Strategic Plan which clearly
outlines the college’s intention for online learning, enabling an integrated
college-wide approach and fueled by continuous innovation and strategic
excellence to better serve students.

ī‚§ What goals should guide SUNY Oswego’s overall strategy with regard to the evolution of online education?
ī‚§ What do you think is the role of Online Learning at SUNY Oswego?
ī‚§ How should the campus community integrate online programs and course offerings in a sustainable manner across the
institution?
ī‚§ How do we ensure the equivalent academic experience for students on campus and online?
ī‚§ How do we ensure an equivalent experience for students in Student Affairs and Campus Life on campus and online?
ī‚§ How do we set or change faculty expectations and responsibilities as we grow online program and course offerings?
ī‚§ How do we create and commit to a sustainable online program that articulates the path to degree for students?
ī‚§ Are there barriers to the creation or effective deployment of online courses and programs? How can they be addressed?

1. Online and blended programs are sustainably created, offered and
grown, effectively preparing and advancing students for tomorrow.
2. Education delivered online remains distinctly Oswego, reflecting core
values of academic rigor, academic integrity and connected communities
and partnerships.
3. Students learning online succeed in the pursuit and attainment of their
unique educational and affinity goals.
4. Faculty and staff succeed in their efforts to design and implement
educational experiences and engage with online students in virtual settings.
5. Students, faculty and staff have access to intuitive technology enabling
them to collaboratively succeed.

5.1 Initiatives (draft)
1. Ensure students and faculty have access to robust, intuitive tools by monitoring and
determining future directions in Learning Management Systems and NGDLE (Next
Generation Digital Learning Environment) and implementing as required
2. Ensure students have access to software and technology that will position them to
succeed by exploring and adopting Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality software
enhancements such as virtualized labs and field experiences as appropriate
3. Work to reduce the total cost of education by adopting Open Educational Resources as
appropriate
4. Explore and adopt Artificial Intelligence / Adaptive Learning as appropriate
5. Explore and adopt Mobile Learning opportunities as appropriate
6. Explore and adopt Online test proctoring as appropriate

  • 2. z Charge The SUNY Oswego Online Strategic Plan Steering Committee is charged to develop an Online Strategic Plan for SUNY Oswego, spanning the next 3 years, guided by the Tomorrow - Greater Impact and Success Plan and supported by the Digital Campus - Technology for an Enhanced Tomorrow Plan. The Steering Committee will develop an Online Strategic Plan which clearly outlines the college’s intention for online learning, enabling an integrated college-wide approach and fueled by continuous innovation and strategic excellence to better serve students. ī‚§
