Essay On Matching Method
Thank you very much for the points of missing important assumptions and justifications of my matching method. Although it is commonly used in
finance area, I need to understand and consider these assumptions, limitations, and potential violation(s).
The evaluating causal effect of outside directors' dissention on the firm value is difficult, because it is almost impossible to observe the individual
effect. However, it is possible to estimate and compare the average treatment effect of the event (dissention) and the effect from the control group.
However, as you pointed, the confounding variable might involve in this relation. It is possible a confounding variable can influence the effect of
directors' dissention in the same way for all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is also reported by two recent studies that a dissention is a function of firm characteristics (Jiang et al., 2016; Ma and Khanna, 2015). It is also a
strong assumption in general because it is very difficult to find and control all possible confounding variables.
However, with a practical point of view, the conditional independence (or unconfoundedness) is stronger than the assumption used in statistical
software. It means that the treatment does not influence on the conditional mean of each potential outcomes after controlling the covariates. In this
study, it is possible to show that general firm characteristics are similar between the treatment group and the control group except firm value. Therefore,
it is possible to hold the conditional mean independent assumption after matching a sample, although it is difficult to hold the conditional independent
assumption.
Another assumption in this approach is the overlap assumption that each firm have a positive probability of having a dissention. There is no difference
in the chance of dissention between a firm in the treatment group and a firm in the control group. Statistically, it can be tested in a statistical software.
Please see the Stata results using teffects ipw and teffects overlap. Thank you very much for the points of missing important assumptions and

Types Of Any Wireless Communication System
A microstrip antenna consists of conducting patch and a ground plane separated by dielectric substrate. The early work of Munson on microstrip
antennas for use as a low profile flush mounted antennas on rockets and missiles showed that this was a practical concept for use in many antenna
system problems. Different mathematical models were developed for this antenna and its applications were extended to many other fields. The number
of articles published in the journal papers for the last ten years. The microstrip antennas are the first antenna designer's choice. Low dielectric constant
substrates are generally preferred for maximum radiation. The conducting patch can have many shape but rectangular and circular configurations are
the most commonly used configuration. Amicrostrip antenna is characterized by its length parameter, width parameter, input impedance, and gain and
radiation patterns. Various performance parameters, mathematical calculation and Microstrip feeding technique will be discussed further through this
chapter. Antennas are key components of any wireless communication system and it is a device that provides a way for radiation or receiving
electromagnetic waves. IEEE standard definitions for antenna (IEEE Std 145–1983) defines antenna as a means for radiating or receiving radio wave.

Laboratory of the Microwave and Radar
Recently in 2010, Hocine Kimouche, Djamel Abed and Brahim Atrouz from the Laboratory of the Microwave and Radar, Ecole Militarie
Polytechnique ( EMP), Algeria proposed the novel microstrip patch antenna design within the inverted stepped cone slot ground antenna. The
dependence of the bandwidth on the main parameters design had been investigated. It would found that by choosing the suitable combinations of the
feed and slot shapes and the tuning their sizes, the optimum operating bandwidth could be obtained. The proposed antenna has an omni–directional
pattern at (x–y) plane for all the measured impedance bandwidth, which are covered the commercial Ultra–wide band.
In 2010, Li Zhiyong, Zhang Qian, Wang Huilong and Liu Yunlin from the Laboratory of the Electromagnetic and Microwave, Southwest Jiaotong
University, Chengdu, China presented Ultra–wide band microstrip–fed antenna with L shape ground application. The current path of the ground plane
would enlarged by using the L shaped ground which are improved the impedance bandwidth performance. The notch would inserted on the ground
plane under the microstrip line to enhance the impedance matching of the antenna. The proposed antenna are designed to the operate over a 3.3GHz to
12GHz for the S11 less than the –10dB and they provides a good omnidirectional radiation patterns. The Simulated results showed that the proposed
antenna can be a good candidate for the hand held Ultra–wide band applications owing to its attractive

How and why did the personal computer industry come to have such low average profitability? The PC industry has started to develop fast in the
80 's when IBM launched its first PC series and later on when numerous small companies entered the market. PC is a new product and companies
had to create the demand to it from the scratch. We shall apply the Porter 's 5 Forces model to examine the PC market and see how forces of
competition influence the profitability of the market players. (See Appendix 1 for detailed description of how does certain parameter influence the
market.) Entrance barriers are: The initial investment is relatively low (1.1) Brand loyalty is average to low (1.2) Switching costs of the market player

The PC industry is one of the most competitive industries in the world. The industry had started to develop fast in the 80 's when IBM launched its
first PC series following which a number of "Clones" made their entry into the market. Along with these clones a number of smaller manufacturers also
started entering the market. The reason for this emergence was mainly that IBM had conceded the rights to the 2 most important components of a PC
i.e. the microprocessor and the Operating System to Intel and Microsoft respectively. This was due to their "Open Architecture" model. This caused the
technology to be available to everyone. We can analyze the PC market using Porter 's 5 forces theory В•Industry Competitors: The PC industry consists

Matching Fingerprint Patterns
I.Objective of Project: The purpose of this experiment was to determine whether siblings were more likely to have matching fingerprint patterns than
people who are unrelated. To do this I took the fingerprints of related pairs of people and unrelated pairs of people to compare the frequency of
matching patterns and determine whether siblings are more likely to have matching fingerprint patterns.
II.Hypothesis: Siblings will be more likely to have matching fingerprint patterns than randomly chosen pairs of unrelated people.
III.Control: Always using the subjects' right index finger, confirming that the sibling pairs were siblings and unrelated pairs were unrelated, limiting the

During the second and third months of pregnancy when the fetus is between 1 and 3 ВЅ inches in size, the fetus develops pads on their fingers and
palms which mark the beginning of the formation of fingerprints (Johnston, 2015). The growth rate of the fetus and the placement of the pads on their
hands also helps determine what their fingerprint will indentations will be placed (Johnston, 2015). In the third and fourth months of pregnancy, the
skin of the fetus begins to develop from a transparent layer into a waxy coating, which is called the basal layer, or middle layer. The buckling and
folding of this skin is part of the uniqueness of fingerprints (Johnston, 2015). The ridges on the fingers are the first identifying marks that form on a
fetus' skin. How each individual structure is formed is determined by what they touch in the womb and the fetus' exact position in the womb (Johnston,
2015). The level of activity in the womb and the general chaos in the womb promotes differential fingerprints development in fetuses (Johnston, 2015).

The Importance Of Matching Principles
While I am still not happy with the grade that I received on this exam, I am seeing improvement not only within my understanding of the class, but
also within my assignments. I feel that this exam was a huge step forward from my first exam. While I did receive a lower grade than my first exam
if the curve is not added in, I know that this is not anything to feel ashamed of. The reason my grade was lower was simply because I did not have
sufficient time to finish the exam. I spent too long attempting to balance the bank reconciliation and did not have time to check over any of my
work, including the few questions that I had decided to save for the end, or the questions that I had marked to double check. I also was unable to
even begin the last page. Instead, I circled and wrote random answers. I feel that this exam was too long for the class period. I genuinely believe that
I understood the material and would have vastly improved from my first exam if given a larger time frame. While yes I now understand that I should

The Process Of Matching Hospitals And Residents
Problem
Initial Solution
The process of matching hospitals and residents was chaotic and confusing before the NRMP began to be used in 1952. The main way hospitals chose
medical students was to extend an offer to the student as early as they could. The demand of the hospitals was greater than the number of students
looking for residencies, prompting "considerable competition among hospitals for interns."1 This competition lead to hospitals presenting students
offers earlier than others could. With offers so early, hospitals could not know the final class standings or grades of the students by the time they
finished school.1 In the most extreme cases, hospitals would send offers to students two years preceding the internship.1 In 1926, the ... Show more

The small adjustments began in 1945; the first of which would help students by resolving "that hospitals should allow students 10 days after an offer
had been made to consider whether to accept or reject it."1 In the year 1946, another change was made and students were given up to eight days to
respond.1 In 1949, the AAMC proposed "that appointments should be made by telegram at 12:01 A.M., November 15, with applicants not required to
accept or reject them until 12:00 noon the same day. Even this 12–hour waiting period was rejected by the American Hospital Association (AHA) as
too long"1. They agreed on the "Appointment of Interns" which contained that "no specified waiting period after 12:01 A.M. is obligatory"3. Even
after these changes were made, it was clear that there were still problems in the matching process. "In order to avoid these problems and the costs they
imposed, it was proposed, and ultimately agreed, that a more centralized matching procedure should be tried"1.
Second Iteration of the Solution
Ultimately, the students were unhappy with modified original system. Their decisions had to be made quickly and without the ability to consider other
offers. The hospitals had to select students before the students had developed any notable skills or even knew their specialty. Named as a form of
"congestion" and "market failure" by Roth in 2008, it was evident that changes in the residency matching program needed to be made. Thus,

Propensity Score Matching
Propensity Score Matching In order to identify the impact of the community based health insurance scheme, the Propensity Score Matching (PSM)
method was implemented. Individuals were divided into two groups, the treatment group; those enrolled in the CBHI and the control group; those not
enrolled in the CBHI scheme. The propensity score is the conditional probability of participating in the treatment group given certain observable
variables (Imbensand Wooldridge, 2008). For each individual participating to the treatment the propensity score matching identifies a matched
non–participant. The individual from the control group is then matched with a treated individual that is closest in terms of the propensity score, a
method which is called Nearest Neighbour Matching. In order to do that, a probit regression was used to estimate the participation decision. The
treatment effect, where treatment is binary and defined as having CBHI with Di being equal to one if the individual i is in the treatment group and
zero otherwise, is given by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, since it is not possible to observe the outcome of the same individual in both treatment and control states at the same time, i.e. counterfactual
problem or missing data problem, according to Holland (1986), estimating the treatment effect by using (1) is impossible. An alternative solution would
be to estimate the average treatment effect (ATE) or/and the average treatment effect on the treated (ATT). The (population) average treatment effect is
the difference between the expected outcomes of participants and non–participants Ж®ATE = E (Ж®) = E[Y (1)– Y (0)]

Impersonal Matching
Unsafe (scammers); People may want to meet after talking for a few days. Scammers may relieve their emotions right away. Scammers may also want

Impersonal:
"Friendship forms the basis of most successful relationships, and it's hard to establish this with a total stranger. Since dating sites are so impersonal, it's
not uncommon to be overwhelmed with bad or boring options. Having ten different bad dates in a single month are sure to leave you sour."
When using a search engine for impersonal matching based on just common interests or goals, another downside of choosing a partner online is the
photo–criteria. Sometimes choosing the most attractive partners based on their photos doesn't guarantee you'll find the right partner for life, more than
that, too many people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

"Online dating is a business, and a booming one at that. Many sites charge users for services like matchmaking, messaging or even profile updates. If
you're saving up for dinner at a French restaurant, you might be left with no resource besides saucy emoticons."
More than that, for the whole history of mankind humans never used an Internet as a method to meet their soulmates because Internet wasn't invented
then. Our grandparents and grand–grandparents used to live all their lives together, meeting each other in first sights. So why to change the world.

S&H Green Stamps
S&H Green Stamps
In the 1950 's and 1960 's supermarkets gave customers "green stamps" for every dollar of purchases at the grocery store. These stamps could then be
redeemed by the customers for merchandise at an S&H warehouse.
Basically, the company (Sperry and Hutchinson) provided the stamps to the grocers who didn 't have to pay for the stamps until the month after they
were given out to customers. Unused stamps could be returned to the supplier. The customer would collect the stamps in a book until enough stamps
had accumulated. The customer would then visit S&H's warehouse and redeem merchandise (e.g.. a TV, a basketball, a set of kitchen towels) for a
specified number of filled stamp books.

Determining the most beneficial augmentative and alternative communication device is a critical component in AAC because it takes time and
dedication to teach a client how to use the device as well as teach others around them how to understand. Hypothetically if a SLP were to provide
wasted effort the results could have the potential to be devastating because in some circumstances all the client has is little time. Lucky enough for
speech language pathologists there are models for assessment that provide guided intervention tactics. Assessment models can be described as feature

The participation model begins by identifying the participation patterns and communication needs where the clinician then identifies participation
barriers (Beukelman & Mirenda, 2013, p. 108). SLP's are then taught to differentiate between assessing opportunity barriers and assessing access
barriers in the concept that the working clinician evaluates policy, practice, facilitator skill, facilitator knowledge, attitude, and current communication
(Beukelman & Mirenda, 2013, p. 108). The client's current communication assessment includes a full assessment of their possible potential to increase
natural abilities, an assessment of potential environmental adaptations, and an assessment of the potential to utilize AAC systems or devices
(Beukelman & Mirenda, 2013, p. 108). Once there has been a thorough analysis the speech language pathologist should plan and implement
interventions that will span across the present and the future with a follow up to determine how effective the intervention has been in advancing a
client's participation (Beukelman & Mirenda, 2013, p.

Standardized Databases And Benchmarks For Experiment
In order to evaluate which approach is better in this field, some standardized databases and benchmarks for experiment are designed. Many databases
are designed for different kinds of methods, owing that different methods may have different assumptions on shapes. A commonly used database is

are in different variant form, including occluded, noised, rotated, etc. Other databases including MPEG–7 Shape Dataset [5], Articulated Dataset,
Swedish Leaf Dataset and Brown Dataset are used to have further experiments. Similar to [13], Precision and Recall is used for benchmark for the
reason of fair comparisons. C.Results and Discussion Table I shows the optimal result from test on 99shape dataset. The numbers of points we
sampled from the shapes are 50, 50 and 25 for RSD, RAD and TF respectively. For the articulated dataset, 45, 35 and 45 points are sample for RSD,
RAD and TF. Retrieval result on articulated dataset was presented in Table I. We have noticed that result on 99shape from RAD is slightly better than

The Difference Between Bisimulation And Forced Simulation
Literature Review: The difference between Bisimulation and Forced Simulation Haowei Zheng hzhe024@aucklanduni.ac.nz 1.INTRODUCTION
Currently, component reuse techniques have become more and more important for handling the rapidly increasing complexities of component based
embedded system. Bisimulation is a well–known technique which has been proposed in the very early stage of simulation development. It provides the
functionality of checking for process equivalent in process algebras. Many applications have been developed by using this technique. However, there
are still some issues regarding using bisimulation technique. One specific issue is component matching problem. To better resolve this problem, a new
technique which is called forced simulation is proposed and developed. In this article, we will carry out a literature review to discover the difference
between forced simulation technique and bisimulation technique.
In the following sections, first of all the component matching problem will be explained more detailed. Then the definition of bisimulation and forced
simulation will be shown. After that, an example of these two different techniques will be shown for comparing the difference between them.

Dell's market share increases from 1.0 in 1990 to 13.2 in 1998. Direct sales of Dell' personal computers through telephone, mail, and internet helped
increase their market share. The total market size for the personal computer industry is $74.6 million. Exhibit 4: Portion of Sales Through Each
Channel by Region from the Matching Dell Case shows the highest channels in which personal computers are distributed in different geographic areas.
In the Americas, the most popular channel is distributor/reseller which accounts for 41.2% of sales, second is the direct channel which accounts for
29.7% of sales, and third is the retail channel which accounts for 21.7% of the sales. These three channels are the top channels world wide, and
distributor/reseller is the channel with the highest percentage of sales across the board.
Income Statements
Dell and its competitors Compaq, Gateway, and HP all have had their revenues increase over the period between 1991 and 1998. The companies
differ when the net income is compared from the same time period. In the Appendix, Table 4: Profit as a Percentage of Sales shows a comparison
between 1991 and 1998. Profit as a percentage of sales is a note worthy calculation because it shows a ratio of profits to sales. If a company has high
sales it does not necessarily mean that it will have high profits. In Table 4, you see that in 1998 Dell has the highest profit as a percentage of

Dell is able to sustain a competitive advantage over competitors in the computer industry because of an extremely efficient supply chain/distribution
system and its JIT inventory system. Since inventory and labor are the highest liabilities of a firm and Dell operates with a few days of inventory,
they are able to cut costs on warehousing, hiring people to track and maintain inventory, and avoid holding on to obsolete technology. Dell uses a JIT
inventory system because Dell's customers can only order computers directly through Dell itself. Dell uses their website www.Dell.com to take
customer's orders. Dell focuses on direct sales, cutting out other distribution channels entirely. This allows for a deeper relationship with the
customers whereby Dell can offer their customer's better service, savings, convenience, and efficiency. Dell's Positioning and Activities (see appendix

3.4Evaluation
As a basis for this logical framework п¬Ѓrst–order logic can be used. For evaluation stratification can also be applied. It is a bottom–up evaluation
phenomenon.
For evaluating matching rules there is need to have a hold on aggregation operations. To п¬Ѓnd the best match п¬Ѓrst compute all possible matches
with their matching confidence.
4Challenges
There are mainly three drawbacks of rule–based techniques:
1. They cannot utilize data instances efficiently even though they conceal ample amount of information like distribution, value format, frequency of
words, and so on that would help in matching process.
2. In some cases writing matching rules is very difficult due to incomplete information while in learning based approach using appropriate learning
methods such as NaГЇve Bayes make "probabilistic rules" which can be done easily.
3. It cannot exploit previous matching efforts to serve the current matchings. Hence, systems that uses only rule–based techniques face difп¬Ѓculties
learning from the past, to improve over time.
Due to these reasons learning approach is developed and followed.

A new self–configuring and adaptive schema matching system has been proposed. It uses a combination of schema and matrix features as well as
different matching rules to construct and adapt matching processes automatically. This framework offers some advantages like: correct methods for
dealing with schemas that are semantically rich like ontologies; extensible matchers; and semi–automated derivation of the rules that are constructed
for matching based on already mapped sources like identifying constraints, synonyms etc. For diverse match problems this approach returns good
results as well as it is a good competitor of manually tuned approaches. It can be further enhanced to support more complicated

Matching In Canada
Matching in Canada from a Caribbean Medical School
If you are a Caribbean medical student who comes from Vancouver, Edmonton, or any other location in Canada, it would not be unreasonable to seek
residency placement in your homeland when you return. By preparing well ahead of time for post–graduation career steps, you may be successful in
serving your residency period on Canadian soil.
At Windsor University School of Medicine (WUSOM), we take great pride in preparing our students for success after graduation. Many of our alumni
have been placed in various residency programs across Canada.

You cannot always accurately predict where you will be placed in residency after graduation, but you can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Various residency programs will have different priorities and expectations. One way to prepare for filling out applications is to do research on the
programs to which you are applying. Take a look at what kinds of services and specialties they offer, so you will know how to complete each
application appropriately. Performing such research will also help you to determine whether particular residency programs will meet your needs, as well.
Maintain High Standards – Accredited Caribbean medical schools expect their students to maintain high standards. In many cases, getting a medical
education from a school in the Caribbean could make you better prepared for a career as a medical professional. As long as you maintain such high
standards for yourself while in school, you should have a reasonable chance of getting a placement match in the general geographical area you desire.
The USMLE – Do no underestimate the importance of the United States Medical Licensing Examination USMLE scores. As an international medical
graduate (IMG), these scores will be crucial in terms of achieving the best placement possible after

Color Matching
The interior of a home is the side that we see the most often. The colors of the walls and the trim set the mood for each space and play a surprisingly
large role in the feeling you get when spending time at home. Many homeowners choose interior paint colors quickly without considering various
shades and other factors. While this may achieve acceptable results, it does not maximize the potential of the space.
The Power of the Color Wheel
The color wheel groups colors into families and aligns them in relation to each other. Paint swatches are usually arranged in displays or in a hand
held collection of swatches that are organized with complimenting colors across from each other for easy viewing. This is a great way to choose
coordinating colors, or to pick out a color for an accent wall.

Whites can offer the hints of other colors which will often make coordinating a white into the scheme easier if you have decided on the bolder colors
already.
Incoming Light
Narrowing the selection down to a specific color family is a great start but this is not where it ends. There are nearly infinite shades of any basic
color, and some are drastically different, whereas others have nearly undetectable differences. Assessing the amount of natural light available and how
it affects the room at different times of the day may help in deciding on the perfect shade of your favorite color. Many people are stunned by how
different the same color will look in the morning as compared with the afternoon sunlight.
Paint Finish
The paint sheen will also dictate the effect that is cast over a room by the paint. A glossy sheen is often reserved for trim work and bathroom walls or
other areas that experience a great deal of moisture. Walls in bedrooms and living areas are most commonly painted with flat or eggshell finishes.

Recommendation: Continue the current way of matching mentors and mentees. Treatment Condition and Strength of Relationship Association When
testing for association between the two categorical variables treatment condition and mentor reported strength of relationship over a period of 3
months, we first computed a gain score by subtracting the mean strength of relationship score at 6 months by the mean strength of relationship score
at 3 months. After doing so, we converted the score into a binary measure, where scores labeled 1 showed improvement, while scores labeled 0
showed none. Using the newly coded strength of relationship binary measure as a basis for improvement, we ran a Chi–Squared test for independence

Similarly, as seen in figure 4 in the appendix, more than half (69%) of the mentees were 8 years old or older. Likewise, given the large sample (N=
459), the random selection of mentors for each treatment condition was evenly split; each condition had a total of 115 mentors assigned to it. Using
the predicative factors as the independent variables, a logistic regression was performed to determine the effect of free and reduced lunch status,
mentee's age, treatment condition and mentor reported match strength of relationship at 6 months on the likelihood of a match lasting at least 12
months. The logistic regression was statistically significant, 2 (4) = 21.351, p = .000.The model explained 10% (Nagelkerke R2) of the variance in
match length and correctly classified 87% of cases. Mentees who did not receive free and reduced lunch were 2.26 times more likely to remain
matched for at least 12 months. Additionally, mentees that were 8 years old and older were 2.8 times more likely to remain matched for at least 12
months. However, neither of the four treatment conditions nor improved 6–month mean strength of relationship scores showed association when
predicting match length lasting at least 12 months. As a result, we partially accepted both the null and the alternative hypotheses since 'FreeLunch' and
'Recoded_ChildAge' were significant, while the other predictive factors were

Efficiency Comparison of Perturb & Observe, Incremental Conductance & Fuzzy Logic Controller by Using Boost Converter and Interleaved Boost
Converter abstract: Current scenario of the globe is that sources for energy are lagging behind the current demand so most concentration is on
renewables. Solar performance efficiency mainly depends on cell structure, maximum power point tracking technique and converter circuit used. MPPT
operation executes a key part in raising the strength of PV system. A p & o, incremental conductance, Fuzzy based MPPT algorithmic principle is
anticipated with a boost converter. Two in and single out Mamdani's fuzzy framework with triangular membership is used to concoct the controlled

Matching Dell
1.Evaluate the attractiveness of the PC industry. In short, at the time of the Matching Dell case study the PC industry was essentially in a boom, and
particularly in the United States. Steady growth and expansion continued from the first waves created in the mid–1970s by firms like Apple, and
exploded in the 1980s with IBM's first PC offering. Companies likely envisioned a huge potential for growth due to the fact that PC had become
attainable as a household commodity, and was almost certainly on the path to become a household necessity in relatively short order. In the early to
mid 1980's, I would argue that the industry was at its attractiveness peak to new start–ups and existing firms that already had a foothold. By the time

A noted misstep in their revised process was that they continued to build systems based on forecasts, rather than based on customer orders. As a result,
inventory was still a significant cost factor, and IBM incurred big losses in their PC division from 1996–1998 from this and other initiatives.
Meanwhile, Compaq effectively surpassed IBM in the mid 1990s, mainly through large acquisitions of firms like DEC, and followed with attempts to
mimic Dell's build–to–order and direct–to–consumer approach. Continued use of retailers and resellers likely prevented further cost savings, and in
1998 Compaq went from profitable to merely breaking even. Gateway seemed the most well positioned to closely follow in Dell's footsteps since they
were already largely a direct–to–customer business, but difficulties with inventory, IT systems, and a product recall restricted growth. Apparent focus
on small business & home sales may have also been a limitation, as the majority of Dell's sustainable revenue and growth came from sales &
relationships with large corporations. While Dell's competitors may have attempted to mimic their successful approaches, difficulties in fully executing
and realizing the benefits have prevented any significant responses. 5.What should major rivals (IBM, Compaq, HP, and Gateway) do now? While Dell's

пїјA fine–grained Indoor Localization using Multidimensional WiFi Fingerprinting
Abstract–Although fingerprint based localization is promising for indoor applications, its accuracy remains a huge challenge. Most existing approaches
depends on the Radio Signal Strength (RSS) to generate fingerprints. Merely using RSS is unable to accurately localize since such an one–dimensional
fingerprint is serious influenced by the interference and multipath effect in the indoor environment. In this paper, we propose a new localization
approach based on multidimensional WiFi fingerprint. Instead of using RSS only, we employ RSS, transmitted power, and channel information to
construct fingerprints. The extension of fingerprints enables fine–grained localization and tracking services. We also deign a cosine similarity based
matching algorithm and enhanced particle filter mechanism to realize the localization and tracking. Extensive experiment and implementation results
show that using the new fingerprint can achieve an accuracy within 2m in 90% testing points, with good adaptability to complex indoor environments.

Proddatur, India tmukthar@gmail.com Abstract: Detection engines capable of inspecting packet payloads for application–layer network information
are urgently required. The most important technology for fast payload inspection is an efficient multipattern matching algorithm, which performs exact
string matching between packets and a large set of predefined patterns. This paper proposes a novel Enhanced Hierarchical Multipattern Matching
Algorithm (EHMA) for packet inspection. Based on the occurrence frequency of grams, a small set of the most frequent grams is discovered and used
in the EHMA. EHMA is a two–tier and cluster–wise matching algorithm, which significantly reduces the amount of external memory accesses and the
capacity of memory. Using a skippable scan strategy, EHMA speeds up the scanning process. Furthermore, independent of parallel and special
functions, EHMA is very simple and therefore practical for both software and hardware implementations. Simulation results reveal that EHMA
significantly improves the matching performance. The speed of EHMA is about 0.89–1,161 times faster than that of current matching algorithms. Even
under real–life intense attack, EHMA still performs well.

Employer 401 Case Study
We often ask the question, "How does our 401(k) plan stack up?" When you are an employee, you will consider items such as the investment choices,
administration fees, or loan terms. However, if you are an owner, the most important thing to think about may be how to contribute the highest amount
you can under Section 415. For 2016, the defined contribution plan annual addition limit without catch–up is $53,000, and will rise to $54,000 next year.
The Internal Revenue Code (IRC) subjects qualified employer plans to compliance testing. Employer 401(k) plans must pass the "actual deferral
percentage" (ADP) test, and if there are employer match contributions, the "actual contribution percentage" (ACP) test. However, safe harbor plans are
not subject to discrimination testing if the plan sponsor contributes a pre–approved safe harbor employer contribution.
Safe harbor plans guarantee that the Highly Compensated Employees (HCEs) will be able to contribute the maximum deferral amount of $18,000, but
not necessarily the maximum annual addition under Code Section 415. In those cases, the triple stack match formula may be the solution, as follows:
Stack One: 100% of the first 3% of deferrals, plus 50% on the next 2% of deferrals. That means that if an employee defers 5%, they will receive the
maximum 4% of compensation match on the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to the requirements discussed above, it is important to remember that none of the stacked matches can require a 1,000 hour of work or
employment at year end. Stack One also cannot be subject to vesting, as it must be fully vested to qualify as safe harbor. Provisions for the triple
stack match must be in place before the start of the plan year in which they are

Propensity–Score Matching (PSM)
The propensity score matching model is a method used to evaluate the average effect of a programme on participants' outcome, conditional on the
pre–participation characteristics of such participants (Bryson, Dorsett, & Purdon, 2002). The PSM technique has been applied widely in a variety of
fields in the program evaluation (Heinrich et al., 2010).The model is appropriate for addressing the problem of selection bias (Wooldridge, 2002) in
determining the difference between the participant's outcome with (in this case adoption of weather index insurance) and without (non–adoption of the
weather index insurance) programme (Pufahl & Weiss, 2008). Pufahl & Weiss also note that participants and non

Instrumental variables and design approach, though suitable raises difficulties in finding a suitable instrument because, in identifying the treatment
effect, one needs at least one regressor which determines participation, but is not itself determined by the factors which affect outcomes (Blundell &
Costa Dias, 2000; J. J. Heckman, 1995).
The regression discontinuity method on the other hand needs a large number of farmers next to the discontinuity to draw meaningful decision.
However, this is difficult because the further one moves from the discontinuity line the more the variable characteristics vary (Winters et al., 2010).
PSM assumes that farmers who receive treatment and those who do not, differ not only in treatment, but also in characteristics that affect participation
and the outcome (Heinrich et al., 2010). It thus seeks untreated (in our case non–adopters of weather index) farmers who have the same characteristics
of the treated (adopters of weather index) farmers and matching them using propensity scores and thus creating a quasi–experiment (Winters et al.,
2010). The propensity score was therefore used to estimate the probability of receiving treatment (adoption of

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound ( Hifu ) Therapy System,...
ABSTRACT In High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) therapy system, electrical impedance matching networks should be used between the
ultrasound transducer and signal generator in order to maximize the electrical power transmission. Impedance matching networks are designed based
on LC resonant networks and that can be analyzed by analytical design theory and smith chart design technique. Graphical method using smith chart is
adapted to understand the concept. The reflective power should be reduced after successfully matching the electrical circuit. However, the problem
with our case, HIFU transducer has been observed with significant amount of reflective during LC matching network; that reflective power has to be
reduced as much as possible. In order to eliminate reflective power we tried transformer matching instead of LC network and we are getting desired
output. Even after that, we are getting slightly change over working resonance frequency which is not optimum for highly focused ultrasound
transducer application or any other application. However, if we propose broadband matching network for transducer matching then we can increase the
range of working frequency and we can compensate that problem. To conclude, transmission power can be increased by implementing broadband
electrical matching networks. In this paper, I discuss the characteristics and different applications of piezoelectric material and how matching is an

Matching The Tub
Some Things To Think About When You Want To Get A New Bathtub
If one of your great joys in life is lounging in a hot tub at the end of the day, then you may dream of installing a soaking tub, whirlpool tub, or even a
walk–in tub so you can relax in comfort and be massaged by water jets. Replacing your existing tub can be a big job, so you'll have to consider if you
want to replace your old tub or just install the new one in a different location. Here are some things to think about and discuss with your plumber.
Matching The Size Of The Tub
Many tubs are placed in a nook in the bathroom so they're surrounded by three walls. The plumbing is hidden behind one wall which might also be the
wall to a closet. Although this is a common configuration for a tub, it makes it difficult to fit a replacement tub into the same spot as an exact match.
The new tub may be too large, which would require the removal of a wall or it may be too small. If the original tub is many years old, that increases
the risk that a modern tub might not fit. In that case, you may want to weigh the cost of adjusting the size of the alcove and replacing existing pipes
against the cost of a plumber installing new pipes for the tub in a different location. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It may even have to be busted into smaller pieces so it can fit through the door and be removed from your home. Bringing in a new tub might be
challenging as well. One thing to consider is water damage that may have occurred to the floor and walls over the years. You'll want to make sure the
floors will hold a new, heavy tub when it is full of water.

Essay On Matching Method

  • 1. Essay On Matching Method Thank you very much for the points of missing important assumptions and justifications of my matching method. Although it is commonly used in finance area, I need to understand and consider these assumptions, limitations, and potential violation(s). The evaluating causal effect of outside directors' dissention on the firm value is difficult, because it is almost impossible to observe the individual effect. However, it is possible to estimate and compare the average treatment effect of the event (dissention) and the effect from the control group. However, as you pointed, the confounding variable might involve in this relation. It is possible a confounding variable can influence the effect of directors' dissention in the same way for all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is also reported by two recent studies that a dissention is a function of firm characteristics (Jiang et al., 2016; Ma and Khanna, 2015). It is also a strong assumption in general because it is very difficult to find and control all possible confounding variables. However, with a practical point of view, the conditional independence (or unconfoundedness) is stronger than the assumption used in statistical software. It means that the treatment does not influence on the conditional mean of each potential outcomes after controlling the covariates. In this study, it is possible to show that general firm characteristics are similar between the treatment group and the control group except firm value. Therefore, it is possible to hold the conditional mean independent assumption after matching a sample, although it is difficult to hold the conditional independent assumption. Another assumption in this approach is the overlap assumption that each firm have a positive probability of having a dissention. There is no difference in the chance of dissention between a firm in the treatment group and a firm in the control group. Statistically, it can be tested in a statistical software. Please see the Stata results using teffects ipw and teffects overlap. Thank you very much for the points of missing important assumptions and justifications of my matching method. • 2. Types Of Any Wireless Communication System A microstrip antenna consists of conducting patch and a ground plane separated by dielectric substrate. The early work of Munson on microstrip antennas for use as a low profile flush mounted antennas on rockets and missiles showed that this was a practical concept for use in many antenna system problems. Different mathematical models were developed for this antenna and its applications were extended to many other fields. The number of articles published in the journal papers for the last ten years. The microstrip antennas are the first antenna designer's choice. Low dielectric constant substrates are generally preferred for maximum radiation. The conducting patch can have many shape but rectangular and circular configurations are the most commonly used configuration. Amicrostrip antenna is characterized by its length parameter, width parameter, input impedance, and gain and radiation patterns. Various performance parameters, mathematical calculation and Microstrip feeding technique will be discussed further through this chapter. Antennas are key components of any wireless communication system and it is a device that provides a way for radiation or receiving electromagnetic waves. IEEE standard definitions for antenna (IEEE Std 145–1983) defines antenna as a means for radiating or receiving radio wave. Figure 3.1 shows an antenna as transition device. • 3. Laboratory of the Microwave and Radar Recently in 2010, Hocine Kimouche, Djamel Abed and Brahim Atrouz from the Laboratory of the Microwave and Radar, Ecole Militarie Polytechnique ( EMP), Algeria proposed the novel microstrip patch antenna design within the inverted stepped cone slot ground antenna. The dependence of the bandwidth on the main parameters design had been investigated. It would found that by choosing the suitable combinations of the feed and slot shapes and the tuning their sizes, the optimum operating bandwidth could be obtained. The proposed antenna has an omni–directional pattern at (x–y) plane for all the measured impedance bandwidth, which are covered the commercial Ultra–wide band. In 2010, Li Zhiyong, Zhang Qian, Wang Huilong and Liu Yunlin from the Laboratory of the Electromagnetic and Microwave, Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China presented Ultra–wide band microstrip–fed antenna with L shape ground application. The current path of the ground plane would enlarged by using the L shaped ground which are improved the impedance bandwidth performance. The notch would inserted on the ground plane under the microstrip line to enhance the impedance matching of the antenna. The proposed antenna are designed to the operate over a 3.3GHz to 12GHz for the S11 less than the –10dB and they provides a good omnidirectional radiation patterns. The Simulated results showed that the proposed antenna can be a good candidate for the hand held Ultra–wide band applications owing to its attractive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Matching Dell How and why did the personal computer industry come to have such low average profitability? The PC industry has started to develop fast in the 80 's when IBM launched its first PC series and later on when numerous small companies entered the market. PC is a new product and companies had to create the demand to it from the scratch. We shall apply the Porter 's 5 Forces model to examine the PC market and see how forces of competition influence the profitability of the market players. (See Appendix 1 for detailed description of how does certain parameter influence the market.) Entrance barriers are: The initial investment is relatively low (1.1) Brand loyalty is average to low (1.2) Switching costs of the market player are average.... More than 4 times over HP (436,4%) В– the second best performing player and twice over Compaq (770%). Revenues of Dell increased on 1285% against 660% of Compaq (1992–1998). From this data it can be seen that at Dell net income gross exceeds the revenue gross, while Compaq didn 't succeed to use the revenues incline to make income. Inventory (table 2) Inventory turnover В– increase of 634.9% at Dell against 202% at Compaq shows the competitive advantage if Dell in managing and maintaining its stocks Customer service (table 3) In serving its customers Dell has succeeded more than its rivals. It can be seen from the table 3 that ranks PC manufactures based on Consumer Report where Dell won the 1st rank place. Competitive advantage of Dell in serving customers in comparison with other manufacturers can be also seen on table 3. Concerning corporate customer service by Dell and Compaq should be mentioned deep understanding of customer needs at Dell Corporation and 24/7 support against based on forecast production system with 64 days of delivery period. • 5. Matching Dell The PC industry is one of the most competitive industries in the world. The industry had started to develop fast in the 80 's when IBM launched its first PC series following which a number of "Clones" made their entry into the market. Along with these clones a number of smaller manufacturers also started entering the market. The reason for this emergence was mainly that IBM had conceded the rights to the 2 most important components of a PC i.e. the microprocessor and the Operating System to Intel and Microsoft respectively. This was due to their "Open Architecture" model. This caused the technology to be available to everyone. We can analyze the PC market using Porter 's 5 forces theory В•Industry Competitors: The PC industry consists of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the competition realized that Dell 's model is operating with efficiency, the other manufacturers also introduced their own direct selling models. В•IBM introduced the Netfinity Direct program В•Compaq acquired DEC and introduced the DirectPlus program В•HP, although skeptical of the Direct selling model did make a modest attempt at direct selling through their web service, HP shopping village. В•Gateway was introduced which was the worlds second largest Direct marketer of PC 's Dell 's Competitive Advantage: Dell 's Competitive advantage lied in its very low or negligible inventory that it held. Also, because of its direct sales strategy it eliminated the intermediaries. Dell also had a first mover advantage in the direct selling model. Prior to the efforts of the other companies to match Dell it had a phenomenal growth i.e. the net income of Dell had grown from 51 million dollars in 1992 to 1460 million dollars in 1999 which was a growth of 28 times as compared to the growths of HP and Compaq. The revenues of Dell (1992–1999) grew by around 3 times faster than Compaq, HP or IBM. The Dell growth chart is as shown below DELLDell initially starts off ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Matching Fingerprint Patterns I.Objective of Project: The purpose of this experiment was to determine whether siblings were more likely to have matching fingerprint patterns than people who are unrelated. To do this I took the fingerprints of related pairs of people and unrelated pairs of people to compare the frequency of matching patterns and determine whether siblings are more likely to have matching fingerprint patterns. II.Hypothesis: Siblings will be more likely to have matching fingerprint patterns than randomly chosen pairs of unrelated people. III.Control: Always using the subjects' right index finger, confirming that the sibling pairs were siblings and unrelated pairs were unrelated, limiting the comparison to the three general fingerprint patterns, always ... During the second and third months of pregnancy when the fetus is between 1 and 3 ВЅ inches in size, the fetus develops pads on their fingers and palms which mark the beginning of the formation of fingerprints (Johnston, 2015). The growth rate of the fetus and the placement of the pads on their hands also helps determine what their fingerprint will indentations will be placed (Johnston, 2015). In the third and fourth months of pregnancy, the skin of the fetus begins to develop from a transparent layer into a waxy coating, which is called the basal layer, or middle layer. The buckling and folding of this skin is part of the uniqueness of fingerprints (Johnston, 2015). The ridges on the fingers are the first identifying marks that form on a fetus' skin. How each individual structure is formed is determined by what they touch in the womb and the fetus' exact position in the womb (Johnston, 2015). The level of activity in the womb and the general chaos in the womb promotes differential fingerprints development in fetuses (Johnston, 2015). • 7. The Importance Of Matching Principles While I am still not happy with the grade that I received on this exam, I am seeing improvement not only within my understanding of the class, but also within my assignments. I feel that this exam was a huge step forward from my first exam. While I did receive a lower grade than my first exam if the curve is not added in, I know that this is not anything to feel ashamed of. The reason my grade was lower was simply because I did not have sufficient time to finish the exam. I spent too long attempting to balance the bank reconciliation and did not have time to check over any of my work, including the few questions that I had decided to save for the end, or the questions that I had marked to double check. I also was unable to even begin the last page. Instead, I circled and wrote random answers. I feel that this exam was too long for the class period. I genuinely believe that I understood the material and would have vastly improved from my first exam if given a larger time frame. While yes I now understand that I should have moved on instead of taking extra time to balance the bank reconciliation, I am glad that this was my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I studied the differing principles and was indeed able to identify the principle in question as matching, but was not at all aware of the four guideline of the principle itself. • 8. The Process Of Matching Hospitals And Residents Problem Initial Solution The process of matching hospitals and residents was chaotic and confusing before the NRMP began to be used in 1952. The main way hospitals chose medical students was to extend an offer to the student as early as they could. The demand of the hospitals was greater than the number of students looking for residencies, prompting "considerable competition among hospitals for interns."1 This competition lead to hospitals presenting students offers earlier than others could. The small adjustments began in 1945; the first of which would help students by resolving "that hospitals should allow students 10 days after an offer had been made to consider whether to accept or reject it."1 In the year 1946, another change was made and students were given up to eight days to respond.1 In 1949, the AAMC proposed "that appointments should be made by telegram at 12:01 A.M., November 15, with applicants not required to accept or reject them until 12:00 noon the same day. Even this 12–hour waiting period was rejected by the American Hospital Association (AHA) as too long"1. They agreed on the "Appointment of Interns" which contained that "no specified waiting period after 12:01 A.M. is obligatory"3. Even after these changes were made, it was clear that there were still problems in the matching process. "In order to avoid these problems and the costs they imposed, it was proposed, and ultimately agreed, that a more centralized matching procedure should be tried"1. Second Iteration of the Solution Ultimately, the students were unhappy with modified original system. Their decisions had to be made quickly and without the ability to consider other offers. The hospitals had to select students before the students had developed any notable skills or even knew their specialty. Named as a form of "congestion" and "market failure" by Roth in 2008, it was evident that changes in the residency matching program needed to be made. Thus, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Propensity Score Matching Propensity Score Matching In order to identify the impact of the community based health insurance scheme, the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) method was implemented. Individuals were divided into two groups, the treatment group; those enrolled in the CBHI and the control group; those not enrolled in the CBHI scheme. The propensity score is the conditional probability of participating in the treatment group given certain observable variables (Imbensand Wooldridge, 2008). For each individual participating to the treatment the propensity score matching identifies a matched non–participant. The individual from the control group is then matched with a treated individual that is closest in terms of the propensity score, a method which is called Nearest Neighbour Matching. In order to do that, a probit regression was used to estimate the participation decision. Steady growth and expansion continued from the first waves created in the mid–1970s by firms like Apple, and exploded in the 1980s with IBM's first PC offering. Companies likely envisioned a huge potential for growth due to the fact that PC had become attainable as a household commodity, and was almost certainly on the path to become a household necessity in relatively short order. Meanwhile, Compaq effectively surpassed IBM in the mid 1990s, mainly through large acquisitions of firms like DEC, and followed with attempts to mimic Dell's build–to–order and direct–to–consumer approach. Continued use of retailers and resellers likely prevented further cost savings, and in 1998 Compaq went from profitable to merely breaking even. Packet Inspection Using a Hierarchical Pattern Matching Algorithm T. .Mukthar Ahamed Academic Consultant Dept. of CSE YSR Engineering College of YVU Proddatur, India tmukthar@gmail.com Abstract: Detection engines capable of inspecting packet payloads for application–layer network information are urgently required. The most important technology for fast payload inspection is an efficient multipattern matching algorithm, which performs exact string matching between packets and a large set of predefined patterns. This paper proposes a novel Enhanced Hierarchical Multipattern Matching Algorithm (EHMA) for packet inspection. Based on the occurrence frequency of grams, a small set of the most frequent grams is discovered and used in the EHMA. EHMA is a two–tier and cluster–wise matching algorithm, which significantly reduces the amount of external memory accesses and the capacity of memory. Using a skippable scan strategy, EHMA speeds up the scanning process. Furthermore, independent of parallel and special functions, EHMA is very simple and therefore practical for both software and hardware implementations. Simulation results reveal that EHMA significantly improves the matching performance. The speed of EHMA is about 0.89–1,161 times faster than that of current matching algorithms. Even under real–life intense attack, EHMA still performs well. Index Terms– Inspection, Detection, pattern matching, network security, signatures. 1. Introduction: A variety of ... • 32. Employer 401 Case Study We often ask the question, "How does our 401(k) plan stack up?" When you are an employee, you will consider items such as the investment choices, administration fees, or loan terms. However, if you are an owner, the most important thing to think about may be how to contribute the highest amount you can under Section 415. For 2016, the defined contribution plan annual addition limit without catch–up is $53,000, and will rise to $54,000 next year. The Internal Revenue Code (IRC) subjects qualified employer plans to compliance testing. Employer 401(k) plans must pass the "actual deferral percentage" (ADP) test, and if there are employer match contributions, the "actual contribution percentage" (ACP) test. However, safe harbor plans are not subject to discrimination testing if the plan sponsor contributes a pre–approved safe harbor employer contribution. Safe harbor plans guarantee that the Highly Compensated Employees (HCEs) will be able to contribute the maximum deferral amount of $18,000, but not necessarily the maximum annual addition under Code Section 415. In those cases, the triple stack match formula may be the solution, as follows: Stack One: 100% of the first 3% of deferrals, plus 50% on the next 2% of deferrals. That means that if an employee defers 5%, they will receive the maximum 4% of compensation match on the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 33. Propensity-Score Matching (Psm). The Propensity Score... Propensity–Score Matching (PSM) The propensity score matching model is a method used to evaluate the average effect of a programme on participants' outcome, conditional on the pre–participation characteristics of such participants (Bryson, Dorsett, & Purdon, 2002). The PSM technique has been applied widely in a variety of fields in the program evaluation (Heinrich et al., 2010).The model is appropriate for addressing the problem of selection bias (Wooldridge, 2002) in determining the difference between the participant's outcome with (in this case adoption of weather index insurance) and without (non–adoption of the weather index insurance) programme (Pufahl & Weiss, 2008). Pufahl & Weiss also note that participants and non –participants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instrumental variables and design approach, though suitable raises difficulties in finding a suitable instrument because, in identifying the treatment effect, one needs at least one regressor which determines participation, but is not itself determined by the factors which affect outcomes (Blundell & Costa Dias, 2000; J. J. Heckman, 1995). The regression discontinuity method on the other hand needs a large number of farmers next to the discontinuity to draw meaningful decision. However, this is difficult because the further one moves from the discontinuity line the more the variable characteristics vary (Winters et al., 2010). PSM assumes that farmers who receive treatment and those who do not, differ not only in treatment, but also in characteristics that affect participation and the outcome (Heinrich et al., 2010). It thus seeks untreated (in our case non–adopters of weather index) farmers who have the same characteristics of the treated (adopters of weather index) farmers and matching them using propensity scores and thus creating a quasi–experiment (Winters et al., 2010). The propensity score was therefore used to estimate the probability of receiving treatment (adoption of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. High Intensity Focused Ultrasound ( Hifu ) Therapy System,... ABSTRACT In High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) therapy system, electrical impedance matching networks should be used between the ultrasound transducer and signal generator in order to maximize the electrical power transmission. Impedance matching networks are designed based on LC resonant networks and that can be analyzed by analytical design theory and smith chart design technique. Graphical method using smith chart is adapted to understand the concept. The reflective power should be reduced after successfully matching the electrical circuit. However, the problem with our case, HIFU transducer has been observed with significant amount of reflective during LC matching network; that reflective power has to be reduced as much as possible. In order to eliminate reflective power we tried transformer matching instead of LC network and we are getting desired output. Even after that, we are getting slightly change over working resonance frequency which is not optimum for highly focused ultrasound transducer application or any other application. However, if we propose broadband matching network for transducer matching then we can increase the range of working frequency and we can compensate that problem. To conclude, transmission power can be increased by implementing broadband electrical matching networks. In this paper, I discuss the characteristics and different applications of piezoelectric material and how matching is an important to observe the behavior of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not only does game itself provide pertinent information (covers all the chapters assigned for the exam and will serve to help jog the memory of those playing the game), but it also has aspects of learning and memory built into the game itself. The aspects of learning include: positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, and observational learning. Positive reinforcement is the administration of a stimulus to increase the probability of a behavior's being repeated. Positive reinforcement is usually called reward. • 37. Matching The Tub Some Things To Think About When You Want To Get A New Bathtub If one of your great joys in life is lounging in a hot tub at the end of the day, then you may dream of installing a soaking tub, whirlpool tub, or even a walk–in tub so you can relax in comfort and be massaged by water jets. Replacing your existing tub can be a big job, so you'll have to consider if you want to replace your old tub or just install the new one in a different location. Here are some things to think about and discuss with your plumber. Matching The Size Of The Tub Many tubs are placed in a nook in the bathroom so they're surrounded by three walls. The plumbing is hidden behind one wall which might also be the wall to a closet. Although this is a common configuration for a tub, it makes it difficult to fit a replacement tub into the same spot as an exact match. The new tub may be too large, which would require the removal of a wall or it may be too small. If the original tub is many years old, that increases the risk that a modern tub might not fit. In that case, you may want to weigh the cost of adjusting the size of the alcove and replacing existing pipes against the cost of a plumber installing new pipes for the tub in a different location. ... • 42. Sequence Matching And Pattern Matching INTRODUCTION : Pattern matching is a programming language method which is considered as important in functional programming. It is uses STRING MATCHING and PATTERN RECOGNITION. The main job of pattern matching is to check and decompose data. The object –oriented programming languages do not have any particular method for this decomposition of data. So the Object–oriented programmers are in need for a solutions for this problem of decomposition .For that problem as a solution a built–in pattern matching construct is introduced which is compatible with object–oriented programming is proposed. And the data is to be defined separately for the operation on data to make matching useful. Pattern matching is presented in two ways, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the given input pattern matches , the pattern variables are bound to corresponding parts in the input value and the relative branch is executed in the an environment that improves with the pattern variable bindings. Pattern has sequence or tree structure forms and pattern matching uses back tracing techniques. The object–oriented way of analyzing and performing operations on data: Object–oriented design is a method and style for software system development that amounts to encapsulating data and operations in abstractions. This method produces some abstractions that are usually implemented in an object–oriented programming language, which supports the object oriented style through its syntax and semantics. It does so by providing an object model and by offering built–in methods for object construction, method calls, field access and deletion of objects. Classifying abstractions and taking them apart into their subcomponents is not a built–in construct of object–oriented programming languages. Pattern matching will offer: Not only Readability and security, a high–level method for pattern matching provides optimization and static checks. The disadvantage of object–oriented solutions which are mentioned above is that the standard compilers can not check hand–written case distinctions are based on type–tests and type–casts cover all the cases, or all branches can actually be entered. Shapes in the same class are in different variant form, including occluded, noised, rotated, etc. Other databases including MPEG–7 Shape Dataset [5], Articulated Dataset, Swedish Leaf Dataset and Brown Dataset are used to have further experiments. Similar to [13], Precision and Recall is used for benchmark for the reason of fair comparisons. C.Results and Discussion Table I shows the optimal result from test on 99shape dataset. The numbers of points we sampled from the shapes are 50, 50 and 25 for RSD, RAD and TF respectively. For the articulated dataset, 45, 35 and 45 points are sample for RSD, RAD and TF. Retrieval result on articulated dataset was presented in Table I. We have noticed that result on 99shape from RAD is slightly better than RSD, while on articulated dataset RSD performs slightly better than RAD. During the above experiment, we tried to normalize the descriptors and found that experiment on 99 shapes received little influence from normalization while result from articulated dataset has some improvement. From the Table I, our algorithm has a almost 100% correct classified rate for Human and Wrench. We noticed that the Airplanes class is of the lowest correct rate except for the top 3 ranks. And the hit rate declined rapidly which make it singled out from the Table I. The matching distance in this class is carefully investigated and the distance revealed that our descriptors ...
