• Today we are going to read a folktale from the
African country of Zimbabwe.
• What is a folktale?
• Folktales are stories with no known author.
• They are passed down from one generation to
another by word of mouth.
• Folktales were created to explain the wonders of
the world or teach morals/lessons.
