What does conflict mean?
Conflicts are a natural and inevitable part of people
working together, sharing diverse thoughts,
concerns, perspectives, and goals
Note : That there is a differences between
Competition and conflict
Conflicts come in three main types:
• intrapersonal
• Interpersonal
• intergroup
Each of the three conflict types builds upon
one another to create the final problem
Common causes of conflict
 scarcity of resources (finance, equipment,
facilities, etc)
 different attitudes, values or perceptions
 disagreements about needs, goals, priorities and
interests
 poor communication
 poor or inadequate organistional structure
 lack of teamwork
 lack of clarity in roles and responsibilities
Conflict is an important component of
team work
 How to build teamwork and co-operation
(…and so minimize the possibility ofi conflict)

procuring good will or inducing a friendly feeling".

  • 2. What does conflict mean? Conflicts are a natural and inevitable part of people working together, sharing diverse thoughts, concerns, perspectives, and goals Note : That there is a differences between Competition and conflict
  • 3. Conflicts come in three main types: • intrapersonal • Interpersonal • intergroup Each of the three conflict types builds upon one another to create the final problem

Common causes of conflict  scarcity of resources (finance, equipment, facilities, etc)  different attitudes, values or perceptions  disagreements about needs, goals, priorities and interests  poor communication  poor or inadequate organistional structure  lack of teamwork  lack of clarity in roles and responsibilities
