The Issue
Today’s education leaders are under constant pressure to foster innovation and
transformation while ensuring that learning outcomes are being met. The demand to
keep up with new thinking and new approaches is relentless and immediate.
Research shows that education leaders are interested in learning from their peers
and eager to understand trends that will impact education, but they often lack time
and a forum for connecting with those who could share successes, lead by
example, and inspire them to advance innovations in teaching.
Human Networks
GETideas.org is a virtual meeting place where policy makers, administrators,
education researchers, and others from around the world share their knowledge
and successes. Members participate in “virtual roundtables” on topics often related
to the impact of technology on education. They can access case studies of real-life
transformative projects and video interviews about topics as far reaching as
assessment, game-based learning, policy, and social networking. Through affinity
groups, members can coalesce around topics of interest. Our GETinsight blog
authors share how-to strategies for using digital and social media to transform
schools and for fostering learning environments that engage students through
technology. More than 30 renowned education leaders offer their personal
perspectives and inspire discussions on the Featured Thought Leader opinion blog.
