The Beast Essay
The Beast is Here
When a car earns the nickname of "The Beast", one can easily imagine how powerful it must be. This word conjures up images of fire, fury, and
strength. Race car driver Alex Lloyd took a car called "The Beast" for a spin at the latest edition of one of America's most famous endurance events,
25 Hours of Thunderhill. His experience with the car was an exciting one as he learned exactly why this particular automobile has earned such a
ferocious nickname. Lloyd endured an incredible few days behind the wheel of this heavily–modified Superlite SLC.
The 25 Hours of Thunderhill event is held annually on the Thunderhill Raceway Park, just outside of Willows in California. This 7–mile track is
well–known for its sharp twists and turns. The event itself has been going since 1991. Originally featuring a 12–hour endurance race, the time limit
was upped to 24 hours and then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Originally a Superlite SLC, a relatively unknown model, the team at Davidson Racing decided to make a few changes to this particular automobile to
turn it into something better. They transformed the car from a two–seat vehicle to a single–seat automobile, placing the driver's chair right in the
middle. They also changed countless other aspects of the car including its frame, body, suspension and more. Next, the fuel tank was replaced with a
custom part and a new engine was added to provide a boost in horsepower.
With all of those changes, the experience of driving the Beast is a truly unique one. Officially known as the "Eagle", this car is a machine ruled by
power and unpredictability, as Lloyd found out on his first few laps of the track. It didn't take long for the race car driver to notice that the gearbox
was struggling with some issues and the car was losing fuel too. The race had been going for hours by the time he finally got to enjoy some relatively
smooth riding in the

What Is The Marketing Strategy Of Nar
The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) has become one of the top racing series in the United States and the number one
spectator sport in America. It's the second most popular game after NFL and has grown popularity worldwide. Races are not only held in America, but
have also been held in Mexico, Canada, Japan, and Australia. Airing therace in over 150 parts of the world is a great way to enlarge the fan base
beyond its traditional American demographics. That way anyone from anywhere can enjoy the sport.
Even though it is such a popular sport, NASCAR faces the challenge of losing TV viewers and their main goal is to search for ways to increase their
audience size and increase their sponsorship. Since NASCAR's main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This adds to the excitement of the sport because viewers get excited about what when they're reminded what happened in previous races and can't
wait to see what the next one will be like. That's why have a preshow before the races like in the Spirit Cup Championships, to get everyone ready and
excited and see what the predictions are for the race.
Using footage that is gathered from inside the track is one of the most effective ways for increasing the popularity of the event. The viewers want to
see the racers reactions up–close and personal and see what is going on in the vehicles of the racers. One is the Bat–Cam, a camera that travels along a
nearly half–mile long cable suspended above the track and can reach speeds of almost 100 mph. Another is a helmet cam that shows almost exactly
what the driver sees. This connects viewers with the racers on a more personal level so they can almost feel like what it's like to be in the racecar
speeding away and competing with the other races during every moment of the race. It's also a way to get the audience familiar with the different
personalities of the racer, therefore increasing the popularity of the sport.
Another very important feature that makes the coverage so effective in increasing the excitement for the event are the broadcasters themselves.
Watching a race can get boring very quickly if you don't keep the viewer entertained, that's why the energy levels of the broadcasters are very
important. In all coverage's

America has been fascinated with racing since the 1800's and there are so many types of auto racing in America and each one is unique. Automobile
racing is a competition race between cars and drivers. Even the first motor race between steam engines took place around 1867, this was 65 years after

The first arranged race took place on August 30, 1867. They raced over a distance of 8 miles and they were both solid fire steam engines. As time

Let's look into Formula One, the foundation of Formula One began in 1946 with the Federation Internationale de l'Autombile. The name Formula
One refers to a set of rules that all cars and drivers must comply with. Formula One uses the points systems and various styles have been in place.
The current systems dates back to 2010 and awards the top 10 cars points there was talk about starting Formula One back in the 1930's but World
War II began and Formula One was placed on hold. Originally there were people who wanted a driver's championship, and this did not take place
till 1950 in Silverstone. One month earlier the first F1 race had taken place in PAU. Formula One unlike the other styles of racing only had a few
championship races. This changed more in 1983, when fuel cost and the economy predicted a part of how the races would be ran.
Our most recent Formula One cars are designed with a single seat open wheel racer. They are built mainly from carbon filter composites. In our last
season cars were powered by 1.6 litre turbocharged v–6 hybrid engines. Many of these were Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes Benz. Most racing teams
are cautious giving out information about their engine, car and performance. There are technical guidelines that the Formula 1 engine will put around
600 horsepower with hybrid drivetrain, this is in addition to the 160

Stock car racing has evolved a great amount since 1920's when racing first started. The cause of racing was because of the Prohibition. The 18th
amendment banned the production and possession of alcohol. So people had to make their own liquor, called moonshine. In order to make money from
liquor, part of the job was to deliver it to their customers, but with the law enforcements trying to obey the new law, Moonshiners had to make their
runs at night. They also had to use vehicles that would blend in, and would not create too much attention, but those vehicles couldn't out run the cops,
so they decided to make some slight modifications to them. After moonshiners made these slight modifications, they were able to run 120 mph on a dirt

The outer shell of the helmet has 2 layers of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is extremely strong and light. The construction of the outer shell begins
with a thin layer of gel coat. After that a special resign is added to the shell. The special resign includes several types of glass, carbon, Kevlar, and
other exotic fibers and weaves. Kevlar is what makes carbon fiber helmets extremely durable and light. All that added together is what gives the
outer shell its glossy finish look. Underneath the outer shell is the BEADALL liner. BEADALL liner is a foam layer that is made of polystyrene or
polypropylene. This layer of foam is put in the crown of the helmet, which makes it absorbs energy that the outer shell didn't absorb at the time of
impact. The last piece of the helmet is the form–fitting layer that is made out of nylon or Nomex, which is a fire retardant material that protects a
racer from getting burned in case a fire does happen. You can also find that Nomex is used in firesuits. Today all race helmets have to have a snell
rating in order to race. The snell rating is accumulated by a series of tests of impact done to the helmet, to see how well it holds up and if it flies off
the test subjects head. One of the most important piece of safety equipment is the HANS device. The HANS device prevents the drivers head from
snapping forward and sideways during a wreck. Most cause of drivers being killed in a

information provided throughout the case. In terms of sales the base for the calculation was 170.00 million cans sold which occurred in 1999 after
quadrupling from the prior year. There taking 170/4 resulted in approximately 42.5 million cans sold in 1996 and having triple in 1998, resulting in

My Group Presentation, We Chose The Business Hooters
In my group presentation, we chose the business Hooters. I Personally have never been to Hooters before. But I have learned a lot of good qualities
about this company. Most people when they think of Hooters they think of the girls. Some people don 't like the idea of the Hooter girls and some
people are biased about it. Waitresses dress unique with a tight white tank top with their logo and tight orange spandex shorts. Causing many people to
refuse the eat at Hooters cause of the "sex appeal" look they broadcast. Personally, if they are not getting disrespected I see nothing wrong with the
Hooter girls. Hooters is another kind of sports bar/family restaurant. As they do target male clientele mostly because of the costume they do wear....

Nascar History
Nascar History
NASCAR is one of the most rapidly growing sports in the world. There are people who think that NASCAR is just a bunch of hicks going around in
circles, but it takes skill to drive at two–hundred miles per hour. I am going to talk about the history of NASCAR, early drivers of NASCAR, the
three NASCAR divisions, the rules, and the new technology. Two of NASCAR's oldest races are the ones that are at Charlotte, North Carolina and
Daytona international Speedways. Charlotte Motor Speedway was designed and built in 1959 by Bruton Smith. Curtis Turner, stock car's earliest
driving star, was Smith's business partner. Turner became one of the first drivers on the NASCAR... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sprint Cup Series cars are unique in automobile racing. The engines are powerful enough to reach speeds of over 200 mph (320 km/h), but heavy
weight – coupled with a (relatively) simple aerodynamic package – makes for poor handling. Their bodies and chassis are strictly regulated to ensure
parity or equality, and electronics are generally Spartan in nature. The idea for the Truck Series dates back to 1993. A group of off
–road racers (Dick
Landfield, Jimmy Smith, Jim Venable, and Frank "Scoop" Vessels) wanted a bigger audience for truck racing. They made a prototype for a
NASCAR–style pickup truck. These were first shown off during the 1994 Daytona 500, and four demonstration races were held during the season.
The first event at Mesa Marin Raceway had six trucks. The other three events were held at Portland Speedway, Saugus Speedway, and Tucson
Raceway Park. Tucson Raceway Park held four events that winter, which were nationally televised during the Winter Heat Series coverage. These
trucks proved to be extremely popular, and it led to NASCAR creating the series, originally known as the "Super Truck Series" in 1995.
The rules of NASACAR changed a lot in the years since NASCAR started. The rules kept changing due to advancement in technology, which meant
different rules for safety. Some of the rules today are that NASCAR allows bump drafting (helps drivers conserve gas) on restrictor plate tracks, no
speeding on entrance or exit of pit

Celebrity Puppets Essay
Celebrity Puppets
The concept of using sports stars to market non–sport items has soared to new heights. Every corporation in the world is trying to get the edge over
their competitors. The classic example is that of the "Cola Wars." During the 1980s, Pepsi and Coca Cola began an advertising slugfest, in which
Pepsi emerged victorious by using Madonna and Michael Jackson as puppets in their commercials. These two companies, as well as thousands of
others, have taken advantage of exposing celebrities in their commercials and advertisements. This is done as a means to persuade the public that these
products are worth buying.
As the years went by, marketers began to realize that in America, sports imagery constituted the most popular... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is how companies view their celebrity endorsers and partners: the companies see that it can bring in a profit from the celebrities on field
successes. To make it look as though these celebrities are not being used, the companies pay them a small dividend as a thank you. In essence, the
companies are controlling said celebrities. In the case of Mr. Owens, by dangling him in front of the public eye, the company holds him by the strings
to make him do as they wish through a pay–off.
The last decade has seen the emergence of a new breed of celebrities onto the marketing scene. These celebrities are not involved in sports that
society easily recognizes. Instead, they are the bowlers of the PBA Tour and the drivers of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. As late as the early
1990s bowling tournaments were named after their specific location and bowlers were viewed as just that, bowlers. Advancements in bowling ball
technology created a more competitive field of bowlers and a new and younger generation of marketers has realized that these bowlers are a great
source of advertising for their products. As a result, today's PBA bowlers wear patches with their sponsors on them. Some have even gone as far as
placing their major sponsors' logo on their spare balls. These sponsors include Odor Eaters, Pepsi, Miller High Life, Holiday Inn, and Baby Ruth, to
name a few.
NASCAR, the nation's fastest growing sport, has received sponsor money since its creation.

What can NASCAR do to create a safer environment for the drivers in the car you may ask. The responsibility of safety is not only in the hands of
the driver or the track they all have to work together to create a safer environment for racing. NASCAR sanctions tracks throughout the United
States. At the beginning of every year they send out their rule book to the tracks and some rules such as seat belts. neck restraints. and rules on
getting out of your car on the track are required. On the other hand the other rules are just guidelines. The tracks can pick or choose which rules
that they want to follow or they can change the rules slightly. It is up to the track officials to choose the safest rules to follow to have a safe and
controlled racing experience (DeRidder). Not only are varying rules an issue in keeping the drivers safe. At NASCAR's level the cars are
inspected on a weekly basis to make sure that everything is up to NASCAR's standards and rules. At the smaller tracks that are sanctioned by
NASCAR they don't have the manpower to check every car every week to make sure that the driver or crew didn't change anything or just not have
the right equipment. Also, at the NASCAR level they have a new car almost every week unlike at the smaller tracks where racing crews don't have
the money to have new cars every week. In the lower classes cars can be driven as long as it passes inspection at the beginning of the

Race in Sports Essay
There are many reasons why the number of minorities that participate is sports vary from sport to sport. Race plays a big part in sports as well as
in our society. Why is it that a group of people can harass and abuse a young black male for raping a white female, but on the next Saturday at the
big football game cheer him on and hope that he has a great game. Over the years there have been some great black sports players, in almost all
sports. Michael Jordan, OJ Simpson, Mohamed Ali, Bo Jackson, just to name a few. When players like these come along that are black and sort of

Jarome Iginla from the Calgary Flames. Iginla is a great forward who has won a scoring title in the NHL for most goals scored in a single season,
and helped the Calgary Flames win the Stanley Cup. (NHL championship) Today the NHL is trying hard to promote diversity in their league. Before
each season every player is required to attend diversity classes, and if a player chooses to talk trash during a game and use racial comments, it will
cost them big time, with fines and suspensions. There are forty–five drivers on the NASCAR Nextel Cup; every single one of them is white. There has

Nascar 's Old Guard For A New Generation Of Young Turks
On March 8, 1936, a collection of drivers gathered at Daytona Beach, Florida. Throughout the race, the heavier cars got bogged down in the sand,
while the lightweight Fords navigated the ruts of the course, eventually claiming the top 6 finishes for the race. They also like the city lost their
interest in motor sports promotion. The drivers brought coupes, hardtops, convertibles, and sports cars to compete in an event to determine the fastest
cars, and best drivers. Haugdahl and France had become very good friends and were not about to give up. In May 2007, NNS director Joe Balash
confirmed that NASCAR was exploring options to deal with the Buschwhacker controversy. The two drivers crashed just before the finish line, and
Pearson won the race by sputtering to the checkered flag. Petty's retirement in 1992 marked the transition from Nascar's old guard to a new
generation of young turks like Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards, whose good looks and well–spoken ways have gone a long way
toward popularizing and urbanizing the sport of the old–time moonshine runners. Going beyond that, I was looking at people who were early

A Weekend at a NASCAR Event Essay
A Weekend at NASCAR
As most people are aware, NASCAR is the fastest growing sport in America. NASCAR, or the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, has
become a national phenomenon and is attended by millions of Americans of year.
The NASCAR season begins in February at the speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, and runs until November where it concludes at the final race in
Homestead, Florida. The season consists of 36 races at tracks throughout the United States. Some tracks, such as Daytona and Texas, sponsor two races
each season. So what is the appeal for so many people?

THE FAN
One of the first things a real NASCAR fan does is to choose their favorite driver to cheer for. Without choosing a driver, a NASCAR race is just a
bunch of cars going fast around the track. Not choosing a driver would be like attending a football game and not having a favorite team. You're just
not invested. A real fan will also use a track scanner, which is a radio that allows you to hear the conversations between the driver and crew chief,
as well as his spotter. If you don't have one, they are available to rent at the track. A radio or scanner also helps you stay abreast of what's happening
on the track. Since these cars are moving at speeds of 150 to 200 miles per hour, there are the inevitable crashes, so the scanner helps you to know
what happened.
GENERAL ATMOSPHERE
The atmosphere is electric. It's hard to imagine that a single race can bring more than 200,000 people! The track at Texas Motor Speedway is very
"fan friendly" in that fans can bring small coolers for their drinks and food. This is unlike the food concessions at other sporting events where you are
forced to fork–over $5.00 for a hot dog. The only limitation is no glass bottles. The fans are very friendly and everyone seems to get along well.
There seems to be a genuine kinship and camaraderie among NASCAR fans. Real racing fans don't want to see wrecks; they want to want to

Jeff Gordon: The Sport Of Stock Car Driver
Over the course of the last 68 years, the sport of stock car racing has seen many legends. In the past two decades, Jeff Gordon has been the man that
filled that legend position. Born in 1971 in Vallejo, California, Jeff was raised in Pittsboro, Indiana where he raced midget cars, as well as go karts
and sprint cars. Jeff was extremely successful in doing this, becoming the youngest driver ever to earn a USAC license. In October of 1990, Jeff
made his stock car debut in the Busch Grand National series (now NASCAR Xfinity Series), NASCAR's minor league. Twenty six years later, he is
recognized as one of the greatest the sport has ever seen. Jeff Gordon was extremely influential in automotive racing because of how successful he was,

In that year, he only raced once and finished 79th overall for the season. He may have had his moments of doubt, but they would soon be
diminished. After that first season, Jeff Gordon went on to race for another 24 years, running 797 races, and winning 93 of them (Jeff Gordon 2016)!
Outside of his his first season, Jeff never missed a single race. Not only did he win 93 races, he came Top 5 for 325 of them, And Top 10 for 475. He
ran a career total of 228,652 laps, leading 24,929 of them. Jeff Gordon drove for a total of 298,397 miles, making $153,703,607 along the way
(Jeff Gordon 2016). This man was truly a legend at what he did. He tops many "Greatest of all Time" lists. Few names could even be considered to
be better. These statistics only include his Cup Series seasons, though everything else is hardly worth mentioning because he was sort of a breakout
guy. Including all other NASCAR series' Jeff Gordon ran a total of 872 races. Jeff's 93 Cup Series wins makes him the 3rd winningest driver of all

Prohibition, and the development of the sport NASCAR...
Prohibition, and the development of the sport NASCAR NASCAR wasn't always one of America's favorite things to watch or a multimillion–dollar
sport. It was actually inspired by criminal activity during the twentieth century. How racecars became part of American life goes back to the early days
of prohibition and how gangsters avoided the law. During this time temperance organizations wanted to restrict or abolish the consumption of alcoholic
beverages. By the early 20th century, women's groups throughout the country viewed the sale and consumption of liquor was disrupting family life, and
destroying marriages. The "Anti–Saloon League", established in 1893, led a wave of protests in 1906 against "saloon" culture. The league had support

known as the place to set land speed records. The beach was filled with racecar fans from across the globe. Fifteen records were set at the beach

If you go on YouTube and watch how the races were broadcast in the 1980s and 1990s you'll see there were no gimmicks, no pre–race concerts, no
interviews with celebrities pretending to like NASCAR (unless they were giving the command to start engines which are much better than seeing
a CEO or vice president do it), no specials featuring a feel good or sob story from someone in NASCAR. It was about one thing and that was the
race itself. They interviewed a few drivers, told any news going on in the sport and that was it, no B.S. NASCAR could really learn a lot from
Formula Ones pre race show. One thing that is incredibly missed in the broad cast presentation is the starting lineup. The 1988 Daytona 500 starting
lineup presentation (which you can see here) is exactly how it should be done. It makes the races seem more dramatic and epic and even shows the
cars too which is important because it will help new fans identify quickly who is driving what car. Today they go through the starting lineup in 30
seconds and even stop announcing it sometimes once they get to about 25th place. Another issue is that there is hardly any variety in the camera
angles. For almost the entire race (except replays) you are seeing the same 5 shots of the race. Every single shot around the turns are shots from right
along the wall. The in car cameras are also getting boring because

According to Potkanowicz, Edward S., and Ronald W. Mendel, racecar drivers heart rates have been recorded at 174.3 beats per minute (bpm), their
bodies have endured repetitive g–loading up to 5.5 gravitational forces (g), and have withstand core body temperature of 102.2 degrees Fahrenheit (4).
A normal heart for adults ranges between 60–100 bpm. Racecar drivers have to be aerobically fit to sustain elevated heart rates. The average human
can only handle up to 5g before passing out. Upper body strength is required if drivers are to withstand the continuous blows of g–force that can reach

The Safety Of Nascar Great Dale Earnhardt
NASCAR is one of the biggest sports in the United States. It is also one of the more dangerous sports. Within the past 20 years alone we have lost
NASCAR great Dale Earnhardt as well as fourth generation driver Adam Petty to fatal crashes on the track just to name a few. Earnhardt's death came
as he hit the wall going at 160 miles per hour at the 2001 Daytona 500. Petty lost his life in a fatal crash at the New Hampshire Speedway during a
practice run. Petty lost control of his car crashing head on into the turn three wall. Both of these accidents killed the drivers instantly when they
collided with the wall fracturing their skulls. From these tragedies rose many new safety features such as the Steel and Foam Energy Reduction
(SAFER) barrier and the Head and Neck Support (HANS) device. But even with all of these safety improvements there still have been drivers
injured in crashes. So what can NASCAR do to further ensure the safety of their drivers? Actually there is a lot that NASCAR can do and some of
it is a lot simpler then what we have anticipated. After Kyle Busch broke his leg in a wreck at Daytona in February of 2015. NASCAR talked about
increasing the amount of SAFER barrier walls on the track. Instead of having the SAFER barrier in only the corners of the tracks NASCAR has
started to talk about putting it on every wall even in the infield of the track. Also they have considered getting rid of the grass around the track simply

Pro Stock Cars Research Paper
Stock Cars are cars that are minimally changed or modified and used for racing purposes. The most popular and most widely known stock car races
are NASCAR races, or specifically "The Chase for the Sprint Cup". Most stock cars are household car brands that are modified slightly for the racing
environment. The most major changes made to these cars is the engine. Most other parts of the car are the same. NASCAR wants these changes to the
cars to be small, so they have very strict rules concerning stock cars.
Pro stock cars are modified stock cars that are used for drag racing. Most pro stock cars look similar to hot rods. Many people question why the class
still refers to it being stock, because very few cars are manufactured. The main difference between pro–stock racing and many other types of drag racing
is not using any "forced induction" and just using a motor. Another name for pro–stock racing is all motor racing because it only uses its motor.
Top Fuel cars are drag racing cars that cover a dragstrip in little under 4 seconds. They have large Chrysler hemi engines that have 10,000 horsepower.
These dragsters burn nitromethane to get insane speeds on the strip. Top–fuel cars are known for their long carbon bodies and tails at the end of the car.

which is named after Hank Williams song from 1951. Just recently as of 2008, a new bakery has opened in downtown Bristol called Blackbird
Bakery, and takes place on Virginia side serving customers from Abingdon to Johnson City. They are mainly known for their doughnuts, but you can

The Beast Essay

  • 1. The Beast Essay The Beast is Here When a car earns the nickname of "The Beast", one can easily imagine how powerful it must be. This word conjures up images of fire, fury, and strength. Race car driver Alex Lloyd took a car called "The Beast" for a spin at the latest edition of one of America's most famous endurance events, 25 Hours of Thunderhill. His experience with the car was an exciting one as he learned exactly why this particular automobile has earned such a ferocious nickname. Lloyd endured an incredible few days behind the wheel of this heavily–modified Superlite SLC. The 25 Hours of Thunderhill event is held annually on the Thunderhill Raceway Park, just outside of Willows in California. This 7–mile track is well–known for its sharp twists and turns. The event itself has been going since 1991. Originally featuring a 12–hour endurance race, the time limit was upped to 24 hours and then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Originally a Superlite SLC, a relatively unknown model, the team at Davidson Racing decided to make a few changes to this particular automobile to turn it into something better. They transformed the car from a two–seat vehicle to a single–seat automobile, placing the driver's chair right in the middle. They also changed countless other aspects of the car including its frame, body, suspension and more. Next, the fuel tank was replaced with a custom part and a new engine was added to provide a boost in horsepower. With all of those changes, the experience of driving the Beast is a truly unique one. Officially known as the "Eagle", this car is a machine ruled by power and unpredictability, as Lloyd found out on his first few laps of the track. It didn't take long for the race car driver to notice that the gearbox was struggling with some issues and the car was losing fuel too. The race had been going for hours by the time he finally got to enjoy some relatively smooth riding in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. What Is The Marketing Strategy Of Nar The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) has become one of the top racing series in the United States and the number one spectator sport in America. It's the second most popular game after NFL and has grown popularity worldwide. Races are not only held in America, but have also been held in Mexico, Canada, Japan, and Australia. Airing therace in over 150 parts of the world is a great way to enlarge the fan base beyond its traditional American demographics. That way anyone from anywhere can enjoy the sport. Even though it is such a popular sport, NASCAR faces the challenge of losing TV viewers and their main goal is to search for ways to increase their audience size and increase their sponsorship. Since NASCAR's main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This adds to the excitement of the sport because viewers get excited about what when they're reminded what happened in previous races and can't wait to see what the next one will be like. That's why have a preshow before the races like in the Spirit Cup Championships, to get everyone ready and excited and see what the predictions are for the race. Using footage that is gathered from inside the track is one of the most effective ways for increasing the popularity of the event. The viewers want to see the racers reactions up–close and personal and see what is going on in the vehicles of the racers. One is the Bat–Cam, a camera that travels along a nearly half–mile long cable suspended above the track and can reach speeds of almost 100 mph. Another is a helmet cam that shows almost exactly what the driver sees. This connects viewers with the racers on a more personal level so they can almost feel like what it's like to be in the racecar speeding away and competing with the other races during every moment of the race. It's also a way to get the audience familiar with the different personalities of the racer, therefore increasing the popularity of the sport. Another very important feature that makes the coverage so effective in increasing the excitement for the event are the broadcasters themselves. Watching a race can get boring very quickly if you don't keep the viewer entertained, that's why the energy levels of the broadcasters are very important. In all coverage's ... Chowning April 29, 2015 America has been fascinated with racing since the 1800's and there are so many types of auto racing in America and each one is unique. The cause of racing was because of the Prohibition. The 18th amendment banned the production and possession of alcohol. So people had to make their own liquor, called moonshine. In order to make money from liquor, part of the job was to deliver it to their customers, but with the law enforcements trying to obey the new law, Moonshiners had to make their runs at night. They also had to use vehicles that would blend in, and would not create too much attention, but those vehicles couldn't out run the cops, so they decided to make some slight modifications to them. After moonshiners made these slight modifications, they were able to run 120 mph on a dirt road... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The outer shell of the helmet has 2 layers of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is extremely strong and light. The construction of the outer shell begins with a thin layer of gel coat. After that a special resign is added to the shell. The special resign includes several types of glass, carbon, Kevlar, and other exotic fibers and weaves. Kevlar is what makes carbon fiber helmets extremely durable and light. All that added together is what gives the outer shell its glossy finish look. Underneath the outer shell is the BEADALL liner. BEADALL liner is a foam layer that is made of polystyrene or polypropylene. This layer of foam is put in the crown of the helmet, which makes it absorbs energy that the outer shell didn't absorb at the time of impact. The last piece of the helmet is the form–fitting layer that is made out of nylon or Nomex, which is a fire retardant material that protects a racer from getting burned in case a fire does happen. You can also find that Nomex is used in firesuits. Today all race helmets have to have a snell rating in order to race. The snell rating is accumulated by a series of tests of impact done to the helmet, to see how well it holds up and if it flies off the test subjects head. There are people who think that NASCAR is just a bunch of hicks going around in circles, but it takes skill to drive at two–hundred miles per hour. I am going to talk about the history of NASCAR, early drivers of NASCAR, the three NASCAR divisions, the rules, and the new technology. Two of NASCAR's oldest races are the ones that are at Charlotte, North Carolina and Daytona international Speedways. Charlotte Motor Speedway was designed and built in 1959 by Bruton Smith. Curtis Turner, stock car's earliest driving star, was Smith's business partner. Turner became one of the first drivers on the NASCAR... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sprint Cup Series cars are unique in automobile racing. The engines are powerful enough to reach speeds of over 200 mph (320 km/h), but heavy weight – coupled with a (relatively) simple aerodynamic package – makes for poor handling. Their bodies and chassis are strictly regulated to ensure parity or equality, and electronics are generally Spartan in nature. The idea for the Truck Series dates back to 1993. A group of off –road racers (Dick Landfield, Jimmy Smith, Jim Venable, and Frank "Scoop" Vessels) wanted a bigger audience for truck racing. They made a prototype for a NASCAR–style pickup truck. These were first shown off during the 1994 Daytona 500, and four demonstration races were held during the season. The first event at Mesa Marin Raceway had six trucks. The other three events were held at Portland Speedway, Saugus Speedway, and Tucson Raceway Park. Tucson Raceway Park held four events that winter, which were nationally televised during the Winter Heat Series coverage. These trucks proved to be extremely popular, and it led to NASCAR creating the series, originally known as the "Super Truck Series" in 1995. The rules of NASACAR changed a lot in the years since NASCAR started. The rules kept changing due to advancement in technology, which meant different rules for safety. Some of the rules today are that NASCAR allows bump drafting (helps drivers conserve gas) on restrictor plate tracks, no speeding on entrance or exit of pit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every corporation in the world is trying to get the edge over their competitors. The classic example is that of the "Cola Wars." During the 1980s, Pepsi and Coca Cola began an advertising slugfest, in which Pepsi emerged victorious by using Madonna and Michael Jackson as puppets in their commercials. These two companies, as well as thousands of others, have taken advantage of exposing celebrities in their commercials and advertisements. This is done as a means to persuade the public that these products are worth buying. As the years went by, marketers began to realize that in America, sports imagery constituted the most popular... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is how companies view their celebrity endorsers and partners: the companies see that it can bring in a profit from the celebrities on field successes. To make it look as though these celebrities are not being used, the companies pay them a small dividend as a thank you. In essence, the companies are controlling said celebrities. In the case of Mr. Owens, by dangling him in front of the public eye, the company holds him by the strings to make him do as they wish through a pay–off. The last decade has seen the emergence of a new breed of celebrities onto the marketing scene. These celebrities are not involved in sports that society easily recognizes. Instead, they are the bowlers of the PBA Tour and the drivers of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. As late as the early 1990s bowling tournaments were named after their specific location and bowlers were viewed as just that, bowlers. Advancements in bowling ball technology created a more competitive field of bowlers and a new and younger generation of marketers has realized that these bowlers are a great source of advertising for their products. As a result, today's PBA bowlers wear patches with their sponsors on them. Some have even gone as far as placing their major sponsors' logo on their spare balls. These sponsors include Odor Eaters, Pepsi, Miller High Life, Holiday Inn, and Baby Ruth, to name a few. NASCAR, the nation's fastest growing sport, has received sponsor money since its creation.

  • 30. Persuasive Essay On Nascar Besides most of the gimmicks and the questionable yellow flags the sport of NASCAR is has issues that need to be addressed. NASCAR will have a totally different look within about 7 years. With fan favorites like Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman and of course "Redneck Jesus" Dale Earnhardt Jr all entering the late stages of there career there is a group of drivers in the lower series ready to replace them. The problem is that many of these drivers in the lower series are only there because of there last name or how rich there parents are. Virtually none of these drivers have anything unique about them. Brad Keselowski ran his family bankrupt trying to make it, Rick Allen stated that Carl Edwards handed business cards... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you go on YouTube and watch how the races were broadcast in the 1980s and 1990s you'll see there were no gimmicks, no pre–race concerts, no interviews with celebrities pretending to like NASCAR (unless they were giving the command to start engines which are much better than seeing a CEO or vice president do it), no specials featuring a feel good or sob story from someone in NASCAR. It was about one thing and that was the race itself. They interviewed a few drivers, told any news going on in the sport and that was it, no B.S. NASCAR could really learn a lot from Formula Ones pre race show. One thing that is incredibly missed in the broad cast presentation is the starting lineup. The 1988 Daytona 500 starting lineup presentation (which you can see here) is exactly how it should be done. It makes the races seem more dramatic and epic and even shows the cars too which is important because it will help new fans identify quickly who is driving what car. Today they go through the starting lineup in 30 seconds and even stop announcing it sometimes once they get to about 25th place. Another issue is that there is hardly any variety in the camera angles. For almost the entire race (except replays) you are seeing the same 5 shots of the race. Every single shot around the turns are shots from right along the wall. The in car cameras are also getting boring because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. The Safety Of Nascar Great Dale Earnhardt NASCAR is one of the biggest sports in the United States. It is also one of the more dangerous sports. Within the past 20 years alone we have lost NASCAR great Dale Earnhardt as well as fourth generation driver Adam Petty to fatal crashes on the track just to name a few. Earnhardt's death came as he hit the wall going at 160 miles per hour at the 2001 Daytona 500. Petty lost his life in a fatal crash at the New Hampshire Speedway during a practice run. Petty lost control of his car crashing head on into the turn three wall. Both of these accidents killed the drivers instantly when they collided with the wall fracturing their skulls. From these tragedies rose many new safety features such as the Steel and Foam Energy Reduction (SAFER) barrier and the Head and Neck Support (HANS) device. But even with all of these safety improvements there still have been drivers injured in crashes. So what can NASCAR do to further ensure the safety of their drivers? Actually there is a lot that NASCAR can do and some of it is a lot simpler then what we have anticipated. After Kyle Busch broke his leg in a wreck at Daytona in February of 2015. NASCAR talked about increasing the amount of SAFER barrier walls on the track. Instead of having the SAFER barrier in only the corners of the tracks NASCAR has started to talk about putting it on every wall even in the infield of the track. • 41. Pro Stock Cars Research Paper Stock Cars are cars that are minimally changed or modified and used for racing purposes. The most popular and most widely known stock car races are NASCAR races, or specifically "The Chase for the Sprint Cup". Most stock cars are household car brands that are modified slightly for the racing environment. The most major changes made to these cars is the engine. Most other parts of the car are the same. NASCAR wants these changes to the cars to be small, so they have very strict rules concerning stock cars. Pro stock cars are modified stock cars that are used for drag racing. Most pro stock cars look similar to hot rods. Many people question why the class still refers to it being stock, because very few cars are manufactured. The main difference between pro–stock racing and many other types of drag racing is not using any "forced induction" and just using a motor. Another name for pro–stock racing is all motor racing because it only uses its motor. Top Fuel cars are drag racing cars that cover a dragstrip in little under 4 seconds.
