A survey of teachers found that 70% identified as teachers, with most having 5-10 years of experience. Teachers agreed that communication between teachers, parents, and students is important for student achievement. Over half of teachers thought a classroom webpage would best enable extended access to classroom activities. While 22% of teachers currently have a webpage, 78% do not, and 70% do not feel confident creating or maintaining one. However, 89% of teachers expressed interest in professional development to learn how to easily create a webpage, and 81% agreed that webpages would enhance student learning by allowing information sharing. Most teachers thought pages should be updated weekly or daily, and 82% would be willing to create a page if the process was simple.
