2. Dead Silence
From looking at this film poster it is clear that the film will be creepy.
With the use of ventriloquist doll and the covering of the mouth is
already giving off a creepy vibe without having to look at the title.
The words ‘Dead’ and ‘Silent’ also have scary/bad connotations. The
use of colours black and red also have the connotations of death and
blood. I think that this is effective as a Thriller poster.
3. Thirst
From looking at this film poster the colours of red and black yet again
prove the genre with the connotations the colours have. It is clear
that these colours are popular for Thrillers. I think that the hands
around the neck is very effective due to the thought of being
restricted to breath.
4. The Silence Of The Lambs
From looking at this film poster it has many similarities to the others
with the idea of restricting someone, from speaking or even
breathing with the covering of the mouth. The word ‘silence’ again
proves to be effective with Thrillers.
5. The Others
From looking at this film poster it is rather different to the others. the
tile sounds very mysterious and not much of an idea is given off about
the film. However, the low-key lighting brings a creepy eeriness to the
poster. It looks candle lit, showing maybe the time the film is set in. the
black background is effective as it creates a sort of unknowing
emptiness.
