2. Scream Magazine
The big use of red and black is an effective way of showing that the
magazine is a about Horror, due to the connotations of the colours;
death, blood, hell and darkness.
The white writing stands out against the darker background
The use of using a Werewolf is engaging as Werewolf are some of the
biggest killers in Horror.
The name ‘Scream’ creates the idea of being scared, yet
again proving that this magazine is about Horror.
3. Entertainment Magazine
Again the colours of red on black and white writing are effective. It is
clear that these are a favourite when coming to horror.
The name of the magazine does not really link to Horror. However, it
could be interesting people and trying to help them understand that
horror can in fact is entertainment not just to completely scare
someone.
4. Scream Magazine
This magazines colours are slightly different to the others that I have
looked at. Using the colour of bright yellow, usually you would think
of yellow connoting happiness. This magazine defies the codes and
conventions of Horror.
Although, it is very clear this is still a Horror based magazine, this is
due to the use of colours such as red and green!
The characters shown along the front of the magazine
shows the reader that it is Horror, as the images are
rather unpleasant.
