1. Lesson 1 – ELECTRICAL TOOLS
AND EQUIPMENT
1. Screw Drivers – are used to loosen
or tighten screws with slotted heads.
a) Standard/Flat Screw Driver - is
used to drive screws with a negative
(-) or single slot head.
2. b)Phillips Screw Driver - is used to
drive screws with a positive (+) or
cross slot head.
c) Stubby Screw Driver - comes in
either Standard or Phillips screw
driver with short shank or blade and

cutting fine, medium and big wires
and cables.
c) Long Nose Pliers – used to reach
tight space or small opening and
also used in making terminal loops
of copper wires.
7. 4. Wire Stripper – used for removing
insulation of medium-sized wires
ranging from gauge #10 to gauge
#16.
5. Electrician’s Knife – used by
linemen to remove insulation of wire
8. and cables in low and high voltage
transmission lines.
6. Portable Electric Drill – used in
making holes on metal sheets and
concrete walls.
7. Hacksaw – used to cut metal
conduit and armored cable.
