1. Sensex sheds a ton on weak global cues...rate sensitives drag
Market Summary

Benchmarks started marginally in green but soon slipped in red amid global woes. Weakened Rupee caused markets
dipping further with S&P Sensex shedding more than a ton. Rate sensitive counters Reality and Auto were the
laggards among sectorials. Nifty lost 0.70% to close above 6100.
Rupee fell further against USD. As per RBI reference rate current rate is 55.0395 per USD.
Globally, US markets edged lower ahead of Fed meeting. It is speculated that Fed may harden its stance against
stimulus. Most of the Asian and European Indices were also in negative zone.
Back Home, Pharmaceutical stocks Cadila Healthcare, Dr. Reddy’s Labs, IPCA Lab, Ranbaxy Labs and Unichem
dipped 2.43%, 1.37%, 1.50%, 1.76% and 1.16% respectively as the New Drug Policy has been introduced which will
benefit consumers with lowered prices of 348 medicines, including lifesaving drugs. The prices will come down by up

Omaxe Ltd crashed 7.24% on BSE on setting a discounted floor price of Rs 148 per share for offer for sale.

Coal India shined 2.11% on BSE after posting a jump of 89.67% in Q4 Net Profit at Rs 2320.61 crore. (Featured

Divi’s Laboratories plunged 7.29% on BSE after a fall of 15.34% in Q4 Net at Rs 181.83 crore. (Result)
IFCI slipped 2.35% on BSE on posting 31.61% fall in Q4 Net at Rs 149.94 crore. (Result)
Adani Enterprises’ Net declined by 143.16% in Q4 at a loss of Rs 73.60 crore. The stock closed 1.32% down on BSE.

The market breadth on the BSE closed in negative. Advancing and declining stocks were 973 and 1456 respectively,
while 152 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 20111.61, down 112.37 points or 0.56%. The 30 share index touched a high and a
low of 20308.04 and 20072.68 respectively. 9 stocks advanced against 21 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty lost 42.80 points or 0.70% to settle at 6114.10. The index touched high and low of 6180.25 and
6102.35 respectively. 14 stocks advanced against 36 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved down to 6547.32 and lost 0.62% while S&P BSE Small-cap index hammered
down by 0.43% to 6159.83.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index decreased to 7609.99 (down 0.68%) and CNX 500 index declined to 4788.20 (down
0.70%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 0.96% at 17.88 from its previous close of 17.71 on Monday.
Sectors in action
On the BSE Sectorial front, Information Technology (up 0.80%) and Consumer Durables (up 0.01%) were the top
gainers.
Real Estate (down 2.59%), Automobile (down 1.75%) and Power (down 1.06%) were the top losers.
The Angels and the Devils
Coal India Ltd (up 2.11%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 1.83%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (up 1.03%),
Infosys Ltd (up 0.92%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (up 0.78%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.

2. NTPC Ltd (down 4.21%), Tata Motors Ltd (down 3.06%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 2.49%), State Bank of India
(down 2.16%) and Tata Steel Ltd (down 2.11%) were the top losers on the Sensex.
Benchmark Drivers
ITC Ltd (-20.40 points), Tata Motors Ltd (-19.38 points), State Bank of India (-19.07 points), HDFC Bank (-14.95
points) and NTPC Ltd (-13.15 points) were the major Sensex drivers today.
On the other end ITC Ltd (-6.06 points), Tata Motors Ltd (-4.81 points), State Bank of India (-4.72 points), HDFC Bank
(-3.83 points) and Infosys Ltd (3.74 points) were the major Nifty movers today.
Pivot, Supports and Resistance Levels
CNX Nifty is now pivoted at 6132 for next session. The next support is at 6084 and on upside it has a resistance at
6162 levels.
