Snapping three day winning streak, Indian indices plunged at open amid mixed global cues. Benchmarks collapsed
further and ended near day’s low levels. Sensex shed a ton whereas Nifty sank 0.70%. On sectorial front, Realty was
the top laggard.
Globally, US indices edged higher on robust manufacturing data. Asian markets traded on mixed note whereas
European indices dipped in red zone.
Back home, Ashok Leyland dived 2.18% on BSE on reporting 31% decline in June sales at 6967 units. (News)
Hero Moto Corp dipped 1.07% on BSE on registering 6% fall in June sales at 502279 units. (News)
Pharma major, Elder Pharmaceuticals spurted 3.04% on BSE after company’s subsidiary acquired Max Healthcare.

State run, Hindustan Copper tanked 6.62% to touch new 7 year’s low at Rs 65 on BSE ahead of Empowered Group of

T he market breadth on the BSE closed in negative. Advancing and declining stocks were 1162 and 1233
respectively, while 151 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 19463.82, down 113.57 points or 0.58%. The 30 share index touched a high and a
low of 19589.14 and 19442.75 respectively. 12 stocks advanced against 18 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty lost 41.30 points or 0.70% to settle at 5857.55. The index touched high and low of 5898.80 and
5852.30 respectively. 18 stocks advanced against 32 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved down to 6050.08 and lost 0.37% while S&P BSE Small-cap index hammered
down by 0.10% to 5747.95.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index decreased to 7231.21 (down 0.49%) and CNX 500 index declined to 4542.80 (down
0.64%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 0.66% at 18.21 from its previous close of 18.09 on Monday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Consumer Durables (up 0.77%) and Healthcare (up 0.52%) were the top gainers.
Real Estate (down 1.78%), Oil & Gas (down 1.01%) and Banks (down 0.78%) were the top losers.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 2.74%), GAIL (India) Ltd (up 2.66%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 2.51%), Sterlite Industries
(India) Ltd (up 1.84%) and ICICI Bank (up 0.89%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (down 4.21%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 2.27%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down
1.87%), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (down 1.83%) and Infosys Ltd (down 1.72%) were the top losers on the
Sensex.
