5. ´PALM SUNDAY´by Odin and
Biel
In Christianity, Palm Sunday records the entrance of Jesus christ riding a
donkey into Jerusalem. People put up the palms and branches from the
laurel and olive trees.
The palms are worked by hand by craftsmen. It’s the day when the
godmother gives a palm to her godson.
7. Easter in Catalonia is more than
just a celebratory Sunday every
spring. In Spain, the week leading
up to Easter Sunday is known as
‘Setmana Santa’ (or ‘Holy Week’)
and is full of events in preparation
for the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

8. Palm Sunday is the Sunday one week before
Easter Sunday, and kicks off the beginning of
Holy Week in the region. On this day, there are
parades and processions all over the city of
Barcelona and in other towns across Catalonia. At
the churches of Barcelona, priests will bless palm
leaves and sometimes go outside the church to
bless people who carry laurel branches.

9. ´MAUNDY THURSDAY´ by

Maundy Thursday is the Thursday
before Easter. Christians remember it
as the day of the Last Supper, when
Jesus washed the feet of his disciples
and established the ceremony known
as the Euchar.
10. ´EASTER TIME´ by Alba,
Albert & Noelia
Easter time also called resurrection
Sunday, & is a festival and holiday
celebration for the resurrection of
Jesus.
11. The Friday before Easter, Christians commemorate the crucifixion of
Jesus Christ. It is a day of mourning in church and special Good Friday
services are held where Christians meditate on Jesus's suffering and death
on the cross, and what this means for their faith.
Calling it 'Good Friday' may seem a bit bizarre, but some people think
that it was once called God's Friday.
