A dual-core processor is a CPU with two processors or "execution cores" in the same integrated circuit. Each processor has its own cache and controller, which enables it to function as efficiently as a single processor. However, because the two processors are linked together, they can perform operations up to twice as fast as a single processor can.

4. Introduction
 A dual core processor is an integrated circuit with two processing
units.
 The two identical processor are manufactured so they reside side by
side on the same die.
 Some popular dual core processors are:- AMD A4-3300,
Intel Core Duo, AMD X2,
 Processor is an integrated circuit with two processing units.

5. History
 The first dual-core processor was created by IBM in 2001.
 IBM's Power 4 processor was designed for server applications and was not
available for home use.
 The first dual-core processor for standard home PCs was the Intel Pentium
EE 840 in April 1,2005.
 AMD & Intel shifted their focus from increasing clock speeds to improving
their processor designs.

 Dual-core processors generate more heat than a single core
processors .
 Dual-core processors don't always perform better than single core
processors.
 Dual-core processors are not able to handle as many tasks at the
same time as efficiently
 Dual core cost more than single core processors.
