Twinning Project funded by the European Union
Position: Assistant to the RTA (Resident Twinning Adviser)
The Twinning Project, “Strengthening of Israeli Veterinary Inspection Authorities for Animal
Health and Livestock Production” is a joint project between the Israeli Veterinary Services
and Animal Health (VSAH) Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the State of
Israel and the General Direction of Animal Health and Veterinary Medicinal Products, Italian
Ministry of Health. The duration of the project is 18 months.
The project is seeking an Assistant to the Resident Twinning Advisor (RTA), whose activities
include assisting the RTA with co-ordination and management of the Twinning Project in the
field of veterinary animal and public health and animal welfare regulations.
The duration of the contract is 17 months. The planned starting date is December 2011. The
place of duty is Beit Dagan, Direction of Israeli Veterinary Service Head Quarters.
The assignment is full time. Тhe responsibility for remuneration of social and income tax lies
on the contractor/employee.
Individuals that have had any contractual relation with the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and
Rural Development or Veterinary Service Direction within the previous six months are not
eligible for this position.
The tasks of the RTA assistant include:
- Assist the RTA with project co-ordination and management
- Arrangement of training seminars and translations
- Make interpretations and written translations
- Arrangement of information exchange, compilation of documents
- Develop and maintain close relations to involved stakeholders.
Requirements for the candidates:
• University-level education or equivalent qualification in administration/languages,
veterinary medicine, law, livestock sector, or similar topic. Experience in the veterinary
sector is desirable.
• Fluent in oral and written Hebrew and English
• Knowledge of Arabic or Italian would be a strong asset
• Strong administrating and organisation skills
• Very good computer skills (MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet)
• Very good communication skills
• Previous working experience in international projects would be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, under time pressure and with creativity.
