2. O Aztec trade was mainly based
on barter. It is very possible
that in the Aztec Empire had
also been in trade shows like
the Inca empire. Normally
Mexican merchants traded
products Tenochtitlan Area
for luxury goods of the other
cities and nations.
O It has come to believe
information Tenochtitlan, in
its time of splendor, was the
world's largest market, and it
stood in the central square of
Tlatelolco where they traded
in slaves, prisoners of war,
cocoa, exotic fruits, etc…

O MINING: obsidian
(volcanic rock
crystal) was obtained
from the Southern
Sierra Madre
Occidental, and it
was used to develop
weapons and
everyday objects, as
knives, plates and
necklaces.
O TEXTILE: the textile
industry was of
great importance
for the inhabitants
of the Aztec Empire,
its main products of
manufacturing
were cotton and
maguey fiber.

O NOBLES : They paid
taxes and had their
own lands where
the servants and
slaves have to work.

group of ordinary
people was
composed by
artisans, merchants,
and peasants.

6. SLAVES
O Slaves were prisoners
of war, people who
had committed a
crime or people with
large debts which
they were unable to
pay off short-term and
were offered as
servants of those who
owed him.
