2. Where and
When
The maya civilization spread
througout
Mesoamerica ( Mexico, Guatemala,
Honduras,Beliz and El Salvador)
between the third and fifteenth
centuries.

3. How and who
The society was organized in to city-states.
The society was made up of:
-the nobility, warrior and
priests (who lived in the
Cities)

4. -common people such us artesans and peasants
(who lived out side the cities).
-slaves.
They spoke many lenguages and dialects.

5. Economy
Their economy was based on
farming, mainly:
-corn -
cotton
-

6. Cocoa was so important that it was used
as money to get other products.

7. CLOTHES
Women wore a huipil,which was a
multi-coloured dress.
Men wore a kind of trousers called patí.

8. The nobility wore rich clothes
decorated with feathers and
precious stones.

9. SCIENCES
They were excellents at math and
astronomy.
They used a number system
based on twenty numbers
including zero.
They wrote the numbers
with points and lines.
Each point was one unit
and each line was five).
Their system of writing was
with pictures.

10. MAYAN ART
The maians were very good at:
-sculpture
And they were also very good at
arquitecture, painting and pottery.
Their temples were made on top of
piramids of stone satairs.

11. For the Mayans the universe was made of
heaven ,earth and hell. Each one had three
levels and each level was ruled by one God.
Itzamná(who had the form of a reptile or an
iguana)was the god that ruled all of heaven.
Games,where a ball went though a hoop,were
religius rituals.
