2. Tuesday, 26 march
The Portuguese team of SMILE project
arrives at the Porto airport, prepared for a
long trip that would take us to Athens and
finaly Vartolomio. After a long and joyful
trip, tired but enthusiastic, the students of
Escola Profissional de Esposende, Fátima
Costa, Hélder Pereira, Beatriz Abreu and
Joana Miranda were finally able to meet
personally the new colleagues and their
families who would welcome us for a
week.
3. Wednesday, 27 march
The day starts very early for us. It's
time to meet new colleagues and a
new school (The Music School of
Vartolomio Ilias), it’s time to make
new friends, it was time to meet
fellow participants from the other
countries of the project: Greece,
Cyprus, Spain and Italy.
The Portuguese team: Fátima,
Hélder, Joana, Beatriz, Tiago,
Mariana e Berta.
4. Thursday, 28 March
Arrived at the school we went to
know a very interesting and
archaeological site – Ancient
Olympia. Through a workshop with
dance and music we were
transported to a time and a
historical dimension that allowed us
to learn history, classical culture,
citizenship and sport in a real place
(Ancient Olympia and its Museum)
but we felt in a immemorial time.
During lunch, held in the same
place, we had a first moment of
pleasant conversation among all
participants in the project.
5. Friday, 29 March
A very interesting and long day. We were
together and we started by visiting
Chlemoutsi Castle where we held a game
working on the themes of xenophobia and
racism.
Then we participated in a “treasure
hunting” game. From, a new computer
application for us - "QRbot" we explored
the myths of Ulysses and Hercules and
through poems were addressed the
themes, transversal to all countries,
music, gods, myths and sea. During the
afternoon we prepared our presentation
for the evening concert where each
country presented through popular music
and dance the reality that unites all
participating countries - Music and Sea,
our myths and common cultural roots. .
6. Saturday, 30 March
We started by getting to know
various places of historical interest
and culture, sharing the theme of
the sea and music, with the
objective of holding a workshop
where we put our knowledge and
new knowledge on geography and
history of the ancient commun
nautical civilizations of Greece,
Italy , Spain and Portugal.
All of these learning were
consolidated through a workshop,
held at the end of the day, and
based on photographs taken by the
students during the day.
7. Sunday, 31 March
In the morning we went to the school
where we made and registered the last
contacts of the new friends, we a new
worshop using simple music instruments.
At night we made a farewell dinner with
host families to whom we thank from the
bottom of our hearts the kindness and
sympathy with which we were received
and to whom we shall be grateful and
remember forever.
We would like to thank the European
Union and the portuguese ERASMUS +
national agency, which has allowed us this
unforgettable experience of citizenship and
learning.
