Grit Essay Examples
Grit is a predictor of academic, professional, and personal success. Grit can be defined as strength
of character or the ability to overcome failure and continue to work toward success. People with
grit are not always the people with the most natural ability, but their work ethic and ability to
overcome obstacles allows them to achieve success. Grit is a very valuable characteristic in almost
any venture, as it gives someone an advantage in overcoming the inevitable obstacles they will face.
However, grit is much easier adopted when an individual has a growth mindset. The first step to
obtaining grit is to correlate both self–control and self–confidence when trying to reach an objective.
By doing this, one can focus on the task at hand...show more content...
I had no experience as a runner nor did I have the form. This did not phase me however. That year
I promised myself to push through all the six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times,
lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and further. I
set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when
I failed. By my senior year, I was the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team
won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The
transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of
becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I
wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people
that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being
physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone
has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to
an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use
the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe
that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent
are just the starting point.

Persistence Essay Examples
"Persistence guarantees that results are inevitable." – Paramahansa Yogananda. Persistence is an
important trait to have as it allows one to push through adversity, accomplish tasks that they would
not be able to if one did not have the trait of persistence. As defined by Merriam Webster Dictionary
persistence means the quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do
something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people. The modern word persistence
originates from the latin word persistent meaning continuing steadfastly. Persistence is the ability to
repeatedly strive for success after being knocked down and never give up, to keep going when
everything else is telling one to quit. Persistence is...show more content...

left side of my forehead. They shot my friends too. They thought that the bullets would silence us.
But they failed." Malala was shot in the head for continually pursuing her dream for equal
education. She never quit fighting for what she believed in. Malala has always dreamed for equal
education, she has taken this belief from her father. She always spoke out courageously for what
she believed in. She was shot in the head because she is standing up against what the Taliban
believe is right. She survived and is still pursuing her dream for education for girls. She used the
trait of persistence by never giving up and striving to succeed in equal education. If she did not
use persistence she would not have accomplished what she has. Most people after being shot

her class, she was not satisfied if she was not the one that all the teachers loved. She never quit
and would work harder than everyone else. Malala is super competitive and has always wanted to

the class. This shows how she is persistent on being the best. Persistence is one of

Argumentative Essay On Veganism
Running head: RESEARCH ESSAY
In today's society, there are many different diets that people can follow. One of those diets is
called veganism. People who follow this diet refuse to consume meat or other animal products,
including eggs and dairy. Veganism is becoming more and more popular for a number of reasons.
Some people go vegan because they do not want to be responsible for cruelty against animals. Others
choose the vegan diet for their health or to help protect the environment. No matter what the reason,
the truth is clear: the vegan diet is simply the best choice. It is better for animals, better for us, and
better for the Earth.
Farm animals' lives are degrading, painful, and they endure a lot of abuse. The majority of our meat

In addition to their clean consciences, vegans can boast of healthy bodies. A meat–heavy diet can be
disastrous for one's health. The World Health Organization, for instance, has linked red and
processed meats to colorectal cancer (O'Connor, October 2015). Plant–based diets, on the other hand,
benefit our bodies in many ways. The advantages of avoiding meat are summarized in a recent
article from The Duke Health Medicine
News: "Vegetarian dietary patterns are associated with lower body mass, lower prevalence and
incidence of diabetes mellitus, lower prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its components
(abdominal obesity, elevated blood pressure and fasting blood sugar, high triglycerides and low
HDL cholesterol levels), lower hypertension, lower all–cause mortality, and in some cases, lower risk
of cancer" ("Vegetarian Diets", 2015, p.
4). A vegan diet offers all of the above benefits, as well as several that aren't associated with
vegetarianism:
"Compared to lacto–ovo–vegetarian diets, vegan diets seem to provide some added protection
against obesity, hypertension, type–2 diabetes; and cardiovascular mortality" (Le & SabatГ©, 2014,
p. 2142). Despite these facts, many people remain skeptical. That vegans can obtain all the nutrients
their bodies need, such as protein. This skepticism is unfounded: legumes, tofu, and other staples of
the vegan diet provide plenty of protein. For example, according to the

Argumentative Essay On Climate Change
Climate change can be traced down to since the mid–1800s, when the industrial revolution first
started taking place all around the world. Lives of human and animal species have been negatively
affected since then, with events such as natural disasters, the melting of ice in polar regions, and
change in weather and living conditions. Climate change in polar regions, in particular, has faced
the most damage compared to any other region because of its location in regard to the sun. Climate
change holds many different views and opinions about the effects, and even the existence itself, but
evidence is clear and unmistakable in global ramifications and local impact in polar regions.
"...Climate change [is] the 'greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people'", skeptics like
Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma like to say. Climate change is change in climate patterns due to an
increase in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases produced by certain human activity.
According to the National Snow and Ice Data Center, data taken by satellite has shown that the
Arctic cover has decreased by 30% over the past 30 years, and this change, which also include
change in sea ice and permafrost, in artic weather and climate is caused by humans. Although
numerous scientists have confirmed the legitimacy of climate change, there are different views on
whether climate change is real or not. Government officials like Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma or
Senator Marco Rubio of Florida have explicitly stated that they do not believe climate change is
neither real, nor caused by humans (Tom McCarthy, 2014). On the other hand, mainstream media
and other media outlets, such as The Independent and The Economist, have reported their findings
of climate change and its legitimacy. The Independent (Conner, S. 2011) reported that records of
these changes were taken by military submarines, land measurements, and satellite data to prove ice
in polar regions are melting faster and faster. Satellites have tracked sea ice since the 1970s and by
nuclear submarines since the Cold War,
according to Peter Wadhams of Cambridge University and it was predicted that by September
2015, there would be no more sea ice. (Conner, S. 2011). Luckily, sea ice has not

Technology Argumentative Essay
Today's society has advanced so this past decade. So much to the point we use it at a daily basis.
Technology does have it's perks, but are we getting too dependent on it? Technology has its
advantages in many ways and I know firsthand how powerful and convenient today's technology is.
Without it, I would have a lot of trouble getting through my day. I would not be able to get a hold of
someone as easy without my blackberry. I am constantly text messaging on it. So much to the point
that I trip over stuff while I am walking due to reading a long text. My blackberry is basically my
life. It is great to know that if I ever get stranded in the middle of a desert on my way to California, I
have roadside assistance on my phone to save me. I...show more content...
Life is more simple with these wonderful devices, but we are becoming too lazy to pick up a book
and learn things on our own. I feel like I and many of my classmates barley open a book for class,
instead we use the internet for everything. This is becoming a serious issue. I feel that we are not
expanding our minds like we used to back when technology was not as advanced. I remember back
in middle school were the internet was available, but I did not let it take up time in my day. I
found myself being more productive with my life back then. Now, I probably spent a fourth of
my day using the internet, which is not necessary at all. With so much power to discover new
things without even thinking makes me wonder what will happen to our next generation as
technology advances. Are we headed for a world where everything is technology driven and
devoid of what makes us human? I look at today's society and I feel that it is really getting to that
point. It is almost as if we are turning into robots. We are divorcing ourselves from regular human
activities. `We are now getting to the point where we are programmed to use technology at a daily
basis. My generation needs to realize that there are many other types of activities that give us greater
satisfaction than anything that is offered online. Instead of spending two to three hours text
messaging a friend, social networking and checking listings on Ebay, we should really take a visit

Argumentative Writing Rough Draft
Outline, planning, revising, rough and final draft, grading. This is the typical process for writing
an essay, I however as a young high school student never followed this. I started with an idea in
my head and go on from there. I never considered a need to plan and prepare an outline, just to
write a rough draft that I would have to revise, draft, and draft again. It would just be easier to start
writing the final draft first right? No. This class has taught me many strategies on how to accustom
my writing to a college level. Over the semester in this class I have grown, learned how to effectively
draft, and experienced argumentative writing first hand.
I, over the semester, have grown in both literacy and critical thinking. A direct comment from Mr.
Gish on the first essay I wrote for the class was "Nice reading!" to this sentence in the essay "This
continues to show that people in poverty aren't charity cases, but rather they are human beings.".
This comment, along with others, shows me that I am capable to effectively write in one of the
worst essays that I have written. The reason for this growth was the support of both my friends and
family. My father would help me with grammatical errors and final revision decisions in some
essays. This growth happened slowly with a lot of effort put towards it. An example from my first
essay is "First and foremost, Gordon Park's imagery throughout his composition." this is the topic

Argumentative essays are very important because of their ability to help people argue in a mature
manner. However, many people do not know how to successfully write an argumentative essay.
Writing argumentative essays is easy once they are broken down into a few simple parts. These
essays should be taken seriously and written with passion and facts. To write a successful
argumentative essay, start off with a good hook, make claims that are backed by evidence, and then
refute the opposing side's arguments.
The first step in creating a successful argumentative essay is to write a powerful introduction. This
includes a hook, background information, and your thesis. A good hook can include a funny
anecdote, a shocking fact, or an inspiring quote.

Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection
Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate
actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay
needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed,
I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as
well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the
weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these
suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive
essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay
would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not
being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that
wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be
persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the
experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your
readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing
your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument
was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why
I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this
helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would
have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but
one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more
clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my
clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a
persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers
can have a full understanding of your

What Makes An Effective Argument Ineffective?
1.The basic parts of an effective argument are a stated clearly defined issue, makes a claim, and
offers support for that claim. Sometimes an argument may also recognize opposing viewpoints and
incorporate them into the argument
2.What makes an argument ineffective is when using emotional appeals to distract a reader from a
lack of evidence. Also the use of faulty reasoning, and inaccurate facts.
3.An issue is a problem, controversy, or an idea that people can have different viewpoints about.
The term claim is a point in which a writer is trying to prove. This is typically the writer's viewpoint
on the issue. A refutation is recognizing and auguring against opposing viewpoints.
4.A claim of value focuses on an opinion or judgment about

Argumentative Essay On Screen Time
Technology has been part of our daily live more frequently than before. Screen time has been more
popularly used on kids and adolescents. On a daily bases many kids seem to spend more time
inside on their tablets, instead of having to spend time with other kids. This is a problem that is
becoming more popular over the years,on whether kids need to spend that much time on technology
or not. Parents either seem to have strict technology usage, or they either don't. There has always
been a huge controversy with experts, who either think that screen time is beneficial or could cause
problems later on in life. There are many views towards this topic, from hurting kids brains, to
helping them during school, and socially.

In order to balance both there has to be comparative with the parents. Technology isn't good nor
bad. It can only benefit the child if the parents put a limit to their time in the screen. Parents need to
set up a schedule in where the kids will follow the time the kids will be using the tablet/ phone. As
well have time to play with other kids, and just interact with there own family member. In the
article, Screen time: A guide for parents states, " keeping computers out of the bedroom, and keep
them in a common area in your house. This will make sure that the child isn't using their
computers/ tablets during the time they have to rest. Kids need to have a good rest, and not having
technology in their rooms because it could cause irregular sleep. Just having the parent take action
in how much kids need to spend time in the screens can be a good start. Luscombe argues, " Take
away the idea that all screens are bad, but the face–to –face time for young people is an important
part of the socialization process". Parents seem to not understand that children need to develop
good social skills, and that can only be done by interacting with others, and get a sense on others
points of views. Parents need to stop giving the kids technology to keep them quiet for a while,
because at the end it's hurting the child

Failure is the step towards success. Do you agree?
It is often assumed that failure is a deterrent to achievement. Rather, failure should be seen as a
motivator for a person to keep trying until the objective or aim of a particular mission is fulfilled.
Failure often times leads a person to feel helpless, disappointed and depressed. However, one should
not allow this to set them back in trying to achieve the ultimate aim one has set out to do. Failure in
the beginning can often be a powerful incentive to reassess one's position in wanting to achieve the
particular aims; to analyse whether the purpose is worth the trouble the person has to undergo and
the whether the obstacles are surmountable. Practical and...show more content...
Another disadvantage of being an only is that he lacks companionship. He has no brother or sister
to confide in. Growing up as an only child can be very lonely. If you have siblings you will have
to share everything, so you get less; but you also get less of the bad things. Siblings can support
and comfort each in times of trouble. The elder siblings learn to care for the younger ones and the
younger ones learn to respect their elder siblings and have someone to look up to besides their
parents. You are more balanced person than an only child. Another advantage of having siblings is
that your parents' attention is divided among your siblings. As a result, there is less pressure on you
to perform well, be it academically or in other areas. Having siblings also means that you have
companionship, the joy of caring and sharing, and security. I, personally, am happy that I am not an

Essay on The QuinceaГ±era
All birthdays are special. Birthdays celebrate life and the passing of time. In a young Mexican girl
life, there is no birthday more important then her quinceaГ±era. The quinceaГ±era is a celebration
of a girl's journey into womanhood. The story of my fifteenth birthday is contributed for a better

from any other birthday she celebrates. A quinceaГ±era receives a gorgeous gift from a family

grandparents were in attendance. They are very old and may not be able to see them for another
birthday of mine. The trip is long and tedious, which is difficult on a weakened body, so having
them there at my quince was the greatest memento. All the people who attend to the quince are
not likely to attend again to another birthday, which is why they specify this celebration into the
most significant moment in a young Mexican girl life. Most people, especially girls shop for an
outstanding birthday outfit to wear. No other wardrobe can relate to what you wear for your
quinceaГ±era. It is the only birthday where a Mexican girl could actually feel like a princess. She
wears a beautiful crown covered in rhinestones that essentials her up do with a gorgeous scepter
that contributes to the tiara. Her dress is what makes her the starlight of the night. It is big and
puffy as a "Cinderella dress" embracing her figure. There is not another birthday that it is usual for a
girl to wear what a quinceanera wears, and that is what makes the night distinctive from any another
birthday.

Do TV Shows Like 16 and Pregnant Promote or Discourage Teenage Pregnancy?
Teenage pregnancy has become a major issue in today's society for our adolescents. This is a
major problem for all who are involved. It creates hurt and a struggle for on the parents, especially
for the mother (Gonchar and Schulten). Also for the parent(s) of the teenager this creates struggles
for them because more often than not, they end up with the load of caring and looking after the
child while the teenage parents are at school or out doing other things that teenagers do. Raising a
child as a teenager is not easy. Teen parents are more likely to struggle to deal with parenthood, and

The television show 16 and Pregnant was initially created to try to symbolize the hardship of being
a teenage parent (Taylor). The stories of these young girls are often times very similar being that
they have a miserable nine months of pregnancy just to give birth as a single mother, no longer with
the father of their child. This show displays the sorrow and struggle that the mother has in just the
first few weeks into being a new mother.
On the other hand, some view that these types of shows somewhat "glorify" the reality of having a
baby as a teenager. Both Teen Moms and 16 and Pregnant offer the young teenage girls that they
document great deals of money in order to record their pregnancy, birth giving, and first couple of
weeks of motherhood. This in itself, to some teenagers, shows that it isn't all that bad. Many teen
moms believe that they could possibly become one of the documented females if they end up in the
situation of being a teen parent and could earn money off of it and a little fifteen minutes of fame
(Henson). Also, they think that they could be featured in Teen Moms, the spinoff of 16 and
Pregnant. This would just introduce even more money to the teen. The show is not intentionally
trying to promote teenage pregnancy. This is just the viewpoint that some uneducated teenagers take
from watching it. This is definitely not the realistic and commonsensical way of viewing teenage
pregnancy.

Argumentative essay
Among the many decision a woman faces when she is pregnant, is whether or not she will
breastfeed her child. In our society and in this day and age, this has become a matter of choice as
opposed to long ago where formula was nonexistent and the only means of nurturing your baby was
to breastfeed. Many women are oblivious to the health risks their baby may endure having not being
breastfed. Research and studies show that babies who are breastfed have better health among other
things if they are breastfed. To add to that, formula companies tend to obscure the truth and bribe the
doctors in to promoting their product. This...show more content...
Because of this, many doctors have received a cut for promoting formula from these major
manufacturers. While the new mother who has just given birth to her baby feels that formula
feeding is better since the doctor recommended it, little does she know that the doctor is doing
what he was endorsed to do. Could this mean that many doctors are withholding the truth for
money? It may very well be and I will further discuss this issue. According to studies done in the
US, fewer than half of the babies are exclusively breastfed during their first two days in the
hospital. "By the time they are six months old, only 19 percent of US babies receive any breast milk"
(Coburn, 2000, 1). This is in large part due to the doctor's orders. Little do these mothers know that
the doctors are pushing formula products on these new mothers because they are obliged to do so
under a contract. Coburn also states "To promote artificial feeding, formula manufacturers spend
millions of dollars securing exclusive distribution deals for formula samples, at a yearly average of
$6,000 to $8,000 per doctor" (p.2). Many formula companies distribute their products to hospitals to
advertize their formula. It is a form of bribery, because if you give the doctors and physicians money
they will without a doubt encourage the recommendation of that

Examples Of Argumentative Essay
Argumentative essay presents a point of view about something and explains the reasons in order to
win readers' agreement. It is built around a specific statement (or main premise) that is debatable
within the field in which students are studying. In other words, at the center of an argumentative
essay is a statement with which readers may disagree. The argumentative essay will need to support
that statement in a manner that convinces the readers of its truth. It mainly strives to convince the
reader of the writer's point of view, using reasonable and ethical methods .The process of argument
composition varies from writer to writer, most writers follow these three stages: forming an
argument, which can consist of discovering a motive for writing and identifying an audience to
address, discovering and sharpening a position, and developing an appropriate style; supporting the
argument; and reviewing the argument, which can include considering the image projected by
argument, making substantial additions or deletions to a first draft, and adding an introduction and

They Say I Say is extremely useful in learning how to write argumentative papers because the
authors discuss the "I say" of an argumentative paper by providing many real life examples and

disagreeing with an argument and using reasoning. One of the templates reads, "X claims that ___

Argumentative Essay On The Holocaust
The Holocaust
The Holocaust started in the 1933, when the Nazis and Adolf Hitler took power in Germany. The
Holocaust from the Greek words "holos" (whole) and "kaustos" (burned) cause chaos and tragedy
for Jewish people. At this time Germany was a nation with a Jewish population of 566,000 people.
Nazis thought that they were the most inferior race and no other race was better than the Aryan
race. This cause a lot of discrimination and hate against other people based on their beliefs and
looks. The Nazis provoked the outbreak of World War II, when they invaded Poland. The Holocaust
lasted 12 years and it end it on May of 1945.
The Holocaust was a disaster affecting many people's lives, mainly targeting Jewish people. They
were also against Poles, Gypsies, Russians, The Disabled, Jehovah's Witnesses and Homosexuals.
During the Holocaust six million Jews were murdered and many others were treated inhuman and
killed. People who were affected by the Holocaust were discriminated, segregated and hated. This
people were mistreated and their freedom was taking away, just by having different beliefs and
have a different looks. Around this time the Nazis came up with the term "The Final Solution"
This meant to have all Jewish people segregated and put into ghettos, limiting their freedom and
lives. People were evicted from their properties and also from their business just because they
were Jews, and they were put in the "ghettos". Life in the ghettos was unbearable and
overcrowding. Specially when they have ten families living in one small apartment. They were
also limited on the food that they could buy, since Nazis did not let them buy enough food for them
and their family they were only aloud to buy small amounts, they were trying to make the Jewish
starve. Jewish kids also sneak out through small openings in the ghetto walls to smuggle food, but if
they got caught they were going to be severely punished. The housing inside ghettos were unsanitary
specially when plumping broke down, and human waste was thrown in the streets along with
garbage and caused contagious diseases that spread rapidly in the ghettos. Many people died every
day in the ghettos because of the terrible conditions they lived and some

The Critical Race Theory Essay example
Introduction
We live in a society where race is seen as a vital part of our personalities, the lack of racial identity
is very often an important factor which prevent people from not having their own identity (Omi &
Winant, 1993). Racism is extemely ingrained in our society and it seems ordinary (Delgado &
Stefanic, 2000), however, many people denounce the expression of any racist belief as immoral
(Miles & Brown, 2003) highlighting the complicated nature of racism. Critical Race Theory tries to
shed light on the issue of racism claiming that racism is ingrained in our society both in legal,
cultural, and psychological aspects of social life (Tate, 1997). This essay provides us the opportunity

Critical Race Theory (CRT) claims that racism is quite usual in social life and white superiority is
extremely ingrained in educational, legal, and political structures which is often unrecognizable
(Taylor, 2009). According to Delgado and Stefanic (2000):
''CRT begins with an a number of basic insticts. One is that racism is normal, not abberrant, in
American society. Because racism is an ingrained feature of our landscape, it looks ordinary and
natural to persons in the culture. Formal equal opportunity – rules and laws that insist on treating
blacks and whites (for example) alike – can thus remedy only the more extreme and shocking forms
of injustice, the ones that do stand out. It can do little about the business–as–usual forms of racism
that people of color confront every day and that account for much misery, alienation, and despair''
(Delgado & Stefanic, 2000: xvi).
Although, this theory began as a part of law sciences, nowadays, there is a great interest of CRT in
the field of education, helping people to understand some forms of discrimination which face the
non–white people in education (Delgado & Stefanic, 2001). Moreover, embraces a lot of academic
fields such as history, political science, anthropology etc (Delgado & Stefanic, 2001). CRT main
purpose is not only to understand the social structures that promote inequalities but to eliminate
them, it is clear that CRT targets on

Argumentative Essay : Argumentative Writing
As long as humanity has differentiated view points, there will be the need for argument. Whether
the argument is about who will be the next leader of a free country or as simple as whether or not

discussions while trying to prove each other wrong or convince someone to change their views.
Under the umbrella of arguing there is a very intelligent method to argue that is called
argumentative writing. With argumentative writing a person can put all of their ideas into an
organized, well developed paper that attracts and engages a reader. While most people prefer
arguing in person, one is susceptible to interruptions from the opposing side or as well as having
to think on the fly and keep their train of thought going while constantly countering what the
opposition is saying; but with argumentative writing one can freely express all their ideas without
opposition until a person is finished reading their paper. That being said, argumentative writing
can be looked at metaphorically like a dance. To explain, when you see another person at a club or
an event that you think is cute, you have to engage them in an icebreaking conversation. Then
when the house band or DJ starts playing you ask the person to dance. While dancing you have to
keep up with the beat and keep your partner actively engaged with the music. If you begin to slip up
or lose the beat, your partner can become disinterested

How To Begin An Argumentative Essay Examples

  • 1. Grit Essay Examples Grit is a predictor of academic, professional, and personal success. Grit can be defined as strength of character or the ability to overcome failure and continue to work toward success. People with grit are not always the people with the most natural ability, but their work ethic and ability to overcome obstacles allows them to achieve success. Grit is a very valuable characteristic in almost any venture, as it gives someone an advantage in overcoming the inevitable obstacles they will face. However, grit is much easier adopted when an individual has a growth mindset. The first step to obtaining grit is to correlate both self–control and self–confidence when trying to reach an objective. By doing this, one can focus on the task at hand...show more content... I had no experience as a runner nor did I have the form. This did not phase me however. That year I promised myself to push through all the six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times, lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and further. I set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when I failed. By my senior year, I was the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent are just the starting point. • 2. Persistence Essay Examples "Persistence guarantees that results are inevitable." – Paramahansa Yogananda. Persistence is an important trait to have as it allows one to push through adversity, accomplish tasks that they would not be able to if one did not have the trait of persistence. As defined by Merriam Webster Dictionary persistence means the quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people. The modern word persistence originates from the latin word persistent meaning continuing steadfastly. Persistence is the ability to repeatedly strive for success after being knocked down and never give up, to keep going when everything else is telling one to quit. Persistence is...show more content... In the article I am Malala the text says "On the 9th of October 2012, the Taliban shot me on the left side of my forehead. They shot my friends too. They thought that the bullets would silence us. But they failed." Malala was shot in the head for continually pursuing her dream for equal education. She never quit fighting for what she believed in. Malala has always dreamed for equal education, she has taken this belief from her father. She always spoke out courageously for what she believed in. She was shot in the head because she is standing up against what the Taliban believe is right. She survived and is still pursuing her dream for education for girls. She used the trait of persistence by never giving up and striving to succeed in equal education. If she did not use persistence she would not have accomplished what she has. Most people after being shot would quit and say it is not worth it, she did not quit. Malala always worked hard to be the best in her class, she was not satisfied if she was not the one that all the teachers loved. She never quit and would work harder than everyone else. Malala is super competitive and has always wanted to be the best in her class. "I worked hard and had managed to regain my position on the school honor board for first in class." She is always working harder than others to achieve the best grade in the class. This shows how she is persistent on being the best. Persistence is one of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Argumentative Essay On Veganism Running head: RESEARCH ESSAY In today's society, there are many different diets that people can follow. One of those diets is called veganism. People who follow this diet refuse to consume meat or other animal products, including eggs and dairy. Veganism is becoming more and more popular for a number of reasons. Some people go vegan because they do not want to be responsible for cruelty against animals. Others choose the vegan diet for their health or to help protect the environment. No matter what the reason, the truth is clear: the vegan diet is simply the best choice. It is better for animals, better for us, and better for the Earth. Farm animals' lives are degrading, painful, and they endure a lot of abuse. The majority of our meat ...show more content... In addition to their clean consciences, vegans can boast of healthy bodies. A meat–heavy diet can be disastrous for one's health. The World Health Organization, for instance, has linked red and processed meats to colorectal cancer (O'Connor, October 2015). Plant–based diets, on the other hand, benefit our bodies in many ways. The advantages of avoiding meat are summarized in a recent article from The Duke Health Medicine News: "Vegetarian dietary patterns are associated with lower body mass, lower prevalence and incidence of diabetes mellitus, lower prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its components (abdominal obesity, elevated blood pressure and fasting blood sugar, high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol levels), lower hypertension, lower all–cause mortality, and in some cases, lower risk of cancer" ("Vegetarian Diets", 2015, p. 4). A vegan diet offers all of the above benefits, as well as several that aren't associated with vegetarianism: "Compared to lacto–ovo–vegetarian diets, vegan diets seem to provide some added protection against obesity, hypertension, type–2 diabetes; and cardiovascular mortality" (Le & SabatГ©, 2014, p. 2142). Despite these facts, many people remain skeptical. That vegans can obtain all the nutrients their bodies need, such as protein. This skepticism is unfounded: legumes, tofu, and other staples of the vegan diet provide plenty of protein. For example, according to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Argumentative Essay On Climate Change Climate change can be traced down to since the mid–1800s, when the industrial revolution first started taking place all around the world. Lives of human and animal species have been negatively affected since then, with events such as natural disasters, the melting of ice in polar regions, and change in weather and living conditions. Climate change in polar regions, in particular, has faced the most damage compared to any other region because of its location in regard to the sun. Climate change holds many different views and opinions about the effects, and even the existence itself, but evidence is clear and unmistakable in global ramifications and local impact in polar regions. "...Climate change [is] the 'greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people'", skeptics like Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma like to say. Climate change is change in climate patterns due to an increase in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases produced by certain human activity. According to the National Snow and Ice Data Center, data taken by satellite has shown that the Arctic cover has decreased by 30% over the past 30 years, and this change, which also include change in sea ice and permafrost, in artic weather and climate is caused by humans. Although numerous scientists have confirmed the legitimacy of climate change, there are different views on whether climate change is real or not. Government officials like Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma or Senator Marco Rubio of Florida have explicitly stated that they do not believe climate change is neither real, nor caused by humans (Tom McCarthy, 2014). On the other hand, mainstream media and other media outlets, such as The Independent and The Economist, have reported their findings of climate change and its legitimacy. The Independent (Conner, S. 2011) reported that records of these changes were taken by military submarines, land measurements, and satellite data to prove ice in polar regions are melting faster and faster. Satellites have tracked sea ice since the 1970s and by nuclear submarines since the Cold War, according to Peter Wadhams of Cambridge University and it was predicted that by September 2015, there would be no more sea ice. • 5. Technology Argumentative Essay Today's society has advanced so this past decade. So much to the point we use it at a daily basis. Technology does have it's perks, but are we getting too dependent on it? Technology has its advantages in many ways and I know firsthand how powerful and convenient today's technology is. Without it, I would have a lot of trouble getting through my day. I would not be able to get a hold of someone as easy without my blackberry. I am constantly text messaging on it. So much to the point that I trip over stuff while I am walking due to reading a long text. My blackberry is basically my life. It is great to know that if I ever get stranded in the middle of a desert on my way to California, I have roadside assistance on my phone to save me. I...show more content... Life is more simple with these wonderful devices, but we are becoming too lazy to pick up a book and learn things on our own. I feel like I and many of my classmates barley open a book for class, instead we use the internet for everything. This is becoming a serious issue. I feel that we are not expanding our minds like we used to back when technology was not as advanced. I remember back in middle school were the internet was available, but I did not let it take up time in my day. I found myself being more productive with my life back then. Now, I probably spent a fourth of my day using the internet, which is not necessary at all. With so much power to discover new things without even thinking makes me wonder what will happen to our next generation as technology advances. Are we headed for a world where everything is technology driven and devoid of what makes us human? I look at today's society and I feel that it is really getting to that point. It is almost as if we are turning into robots. We are divorcing ourselves from regular human activities. `We are now getting to the point where we are programmed to use technology at a daily basis. My generation needs to realize that there are many other types of activities that give us greater satisfaction than anything that is offered online. Instead of spending two to three hours text messaging a friend, social networking and checking listings on Ebay, we should really take a visit to a local Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Argumentative Writing Rough Draft Outline, planning, revising, rough and final draft, grading. This is the typical process for writing an essay, I however as a young high school student never followed this. I started with an idea in my head and go on from there. I never considered a need to plan and prepare an outline, just to write a rough draft that I would have to revise, draft, and draft again. It would just be easier to start writing the final draft first right? No. This class has taught me many strategies on how to accustom my writing to a college level. Over the semester in this class I have grown, learned how to effectively draft, and experienced argumentative writing first hand. I, over the semester, have grown in both literacy and critical thinking. A direct comment from Mr. Gish on the first essay I wrote for the class was "Nice reading!" to this sentence in the essay "This continues to show that people in poverty aren't charity cases, but rather they are human beings.". This comment, along with others, shows me that I am capable to effectively write in one of the worst essays that I have written. The reason for this growth was the support of both my friends and family. My father would help me with grammatical errors and final revision decisions in some essays. This growth happened slowly with a lot of effort put towards it. An example from my first essay is "First and foremost, Gordon Park's imagery throughout his composition." this is the topic sentence to a short paragraph in the beginning of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Argumentative essays are very important because of their ability to help people argue in a mature manner. However, many people do not know how to successfully write an argumentative essay. Writing argumentative essays is easy once they are broken down into a few simple parts. These essays should be taken seriously and written with passion and facts. To write a successful argumentative essay, start off with a good hook, make claims that are backed by evidence, and then refute the opposing side's arguments. The first step in creating a successful argumentative essay is to write a powerful introduction. This includes a hook, background information, and your thesis. A good hook can include a funny anecdote, a shocking fact, or an inspiring quote. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed, I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers can have a full understanding of your Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Sometimes an argument may also recognize opposing viewpoints and incorporate them into the argument 2.What makes an argument ineffective is when using emotional appeals to distract a reader from a lack of evidence. Also the use of faulty reasoning, and inaccurate facts. 3.An issue is a problem, controversy, or an idea that people can have different viewpoints about. The term claim is a point in which a writer is trying to prove. This is typically the writer's viewpoint on the issue. • 10. Argumentative Essay On Screen Time Technology has been part of our daily live more frequently than before. Screen time has been more popularly used on kids and adolescents. On a daily bases many kids seem to spend more time inside on their tablets, instead of having to spend time with other kids. This is a problem that is becoming more popular over the years,on whether kids need to spend that much time on technology or not. Parents either seem to have strict technology usage, or they either don't. There has always been a huge controversy with experts, who either think that screen time is beneficial or could cause problems later on in life. There are many views towards this topic, from hurting kids brains, to helping them during school, and socially. Many people, including...show more content... In order to balance both there has to be comparative with the parents. Technology isn't good nor bad. It can only benefit the child if the parents put a limit to their time in the screen. Parents need to set up a schedule in where the kids will follow the time the kids will be using the tablet/ phone. As well have time to play with other kids, and just interact with there own family member. In the article, Screen time: A guide for parents states, " keeping computers out of the bedroom, and keep them in a common area in your house. This will make sure that the child isn't using their computers/ tablets during the time they have to rest. Kids need to have a good rest, and not having technology in their rooms because it could cause irregular sleep. Just having the parent take action in how much kids need to spend time in the screens can be a good start. Luscombe argues, " Take away the idea that all screens are bad, but the face–to –face time for young people is an important part of the socialization process". Parents seem to not understand that children need to develop good social skills, and that can only be done by interacting with others, and get a sense on others points of views. Parents need to stop giving the kids technology to keep them quiet for a while, because at the end it's hurting the child Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Argumentative Essays Failure is the step towards success. Do you agree? It is often assumed that failure is a deterrent to achievement. Rather, failure should be seen as a motivator for a person to keep trying until the objective or aim of a particular mission is fulfilled. Failure often times leads a person to feel helpless, disappointed and depressed. However, one should not allow this to set them back in trying to achieve the ultimate aim one has set out to do. Failure in the beginning can often be a powerful incentive to reassess one's position in wanting to achieve the particular aims; to analyse whether the purpose is worth the trouble the person has to undergo and the whether the obstacles are surmountable. If you have siblings you will have to share everything, so you get less; but you also get less of the bad things. Siblings can support and comfort each in times of trouble. The elder siblings learn to care for the younger ones and the younger ones learn to respect their elder siblings and have someone to look up to besides their parents. You are more balanced person than an only child. Another advantage of having siblings is that your parents' attention is divided among your siblings. As a result, there is less pressure on you to perform well, be it academically or in other areas. Having siblings also means that you have companionship, the joy of caring and sharing, and security. I, personally, am happy that I am not an only child. Students should not take up part time jobs. Discuss. Nowadays, students love to have part–time jobs. Their parents approve it easily as they are said to gain experience from working. However, having a job is a big responsibility for a student. Before, teenagers at their age were working to help their family because of poverty. Nevertheless, they were actually eager to study and learn at school for their future. It was not the same as the teenagers nowadays where they are more likely competing to each other to have a job. Most of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The quinceaГ±era is a celebration of a girl's journey into womanhood. The story of my fifteenth birthday is contributed for a better understanding of how special it is to celebrate a girl's transformation into a lady, and how it differs from any other birthday she celebrates. It is commonly given to the quinceaГ±era in front of her main friends and family, so it would heighten the importance of getting the gift. My father made sure that my grandparents attended, because he knew important they are to me. My quinceaГ±era is the only birthday in which my grandparents were in attendance. They are very old and may not be able to see them for another birthday of mine. The trip is long and tedious, which is difficult on a weakened body, so having them there at my quince was the greatest memento. All the people who attend to the quince are not likely to attend again to another birthday, which is why they specify this celebration into the most significant moment in a young Mexican girl life. Most people, especially girls shop for an outstanding birthday outfit to wear. No other wardrobe can relate to what you wear for your quinceaГ±era. It is the only birthday where a Mexican girl could actually feel like a princess. She wears a beautiful crown covered in rhinestones that essentials her up do with a gorgeous scepter that contributes to the tiara. Her dress is what makes her the starlight of the night. It is big and puffy as a "Cinderella dress" embracing her figure. • 13. Victoria Okafor Dr. Stainbrook English 111–121 02 December 2015 Do TV Shows Like 16 and Pregnant Promote or Discourage Teenage Pregnancy? Teenage pregnancy has become a major issue in today's society for our adolescents. This is a major problem for all who are involved. It creates hurt and a struggle for on the parents, especially for the mother (Gonchar and Schulten). Also for the parent(s) of the teenager this creates struggles for them because more often than not, they end up with the load of caring and looking after the child while the teenage parents are at school or out doing other things that teenagers do. Raising a child as a teenager is not easy. Teen parents are more likely to struggle to deal with parenthood, and the child...show more content... The television show 16 and Pregnant was initially created to try to symbolize the hardship of being a teenage parent (Taylor). The stories of these young girls are often times very similar being that they have a miserable nine months of pregnancy just to give birth as a single mother, no longer with the father of their child. This show displays the sorrow and struggle that the mother has in just the first few weeks into being a new mother. On the other hand, some view that these types of shows somewhat "glorify" the reality of having a baby as a teenager. Both Teen Moms and 16 and Pregnant offer the young teenage girls that they document great deals of money in order to record their pregnancy, birth giving, and first couple of weeks of motherhood. This in itself, to some teenagers, shows that it isn't all that bad. Many teen moms believe that they could possibly become one of the documented females if they end up in the situation of being a teen parent and could earn money off of it and a little fifteen minutes of fame (Henson). Also, they think that they could be featured in Teen Moms, the spinoff of 16 and Pregnant. This would just introduce even more money to the teen. The show is not intentionally trying to promote teenage pregnancy. This is just the viewpoint that some uneducated teenagers take from watching it. This is definitely not the realistic and commonsensical way of viewing teenage pregnancy. In Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. | Breastfeeding is better for your baby| Argumentative Essay| | | Islas, R. Argumentative essay Among the many decision a woman faces when she is pregnant, is whether or not she will breastfeed her child. In our society and in this day and age, this has become a matter of choice as opposed to long ago where formula was nonexistent and the only means of nurturing your baby was to breastfeed. Many women are oblivious to the health risks their baby may endure having not being breastfed. Research and studies show that babies who are breastfed have better health among other things if they are breastfed. To add to that, formula companies tend to obscure the truth and bribe the doctors in to promoting their product. This...show more content... Because of this, many doctors have received a cut for promoting formula from these major manufacturers. While the new mother who has just given birth to her baby feels that formula feeding is better since the doctor recommended it, little does she know that the doctor is doing what he was endorsed to do. Could this mean that many doctors are withholding the truth for money? It may very well be and I will further discuss this issue. According to studies done in the US, fewer than half of the babies are exclusively breastfed during their first two days in the hospital. "By the time they are six months old, only 19 percent of US babies receive any breast milk" (Coburn, 2000, 1). This is in large part due to the doctor's orders. Little do these mothers know that the doctors are pushing formula products on these new mothers because they are obliged to do so under a contract. Coburn also states "To promote artificial feeding, formula manufacturers spend millions of dollars securing exclusive distribution deals for formula samples, at a yearly average of $6,000 to $8,000 per doctor" (p.2). Many formula companies distribute their products to hospitals to advertize their formula. It is a form of bribery, because if you give the doctors and physicians money they will without a doubt encourage the recommendation of that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Examples Of Argumentative Essay Argumentative essay presents a point of view about something and explains the reasons in order to win readers' agreement. It is built around a specific statement (or main premise) that is debatable within the field in which students are studying. In other words, at the center of an argumentative essay is a statement with which readers may disagree. The argumentative essay will need to support that statement in a manner that convinces the readers of its truth. It mainly strives to convince the reader of the writer's point of view, using reasonable and ethical methods .The process of argument composition varies from writer to writer, most writers follow these three stages: forming an argument, which can consist of discovering a motive for writing and identifying an audience to address, discovering and sharpening a position, and developing an appropriate style; supporting the argument; and reviewing the argument, which can include considering the image projected by argument, making substantial additions or deletions to a first draft, and adding an introduction and conclusion (Cheng and Chen 2009, Day,1997, Liu,2005,Mayberry,2009)....show more content... • 16. They Say I Say Of An Argumentative Paper They Say I Say is extremely useful in learning how to write argumentative papers because the authors discuss the "I say" of an argumentative paper by providing many real life examples and templates for new writers to experiment with. For example, on page 60, templates are provided for disagreeing with an argument and using reasoning. One of the templates reads, "X claims that ___ rests upon the questionable assumption that ___"(Graff). On page 62, templates for agreeing are presented, one of which is, "X is surely right about ___ because, as she may not be aware, recent studies have shown"(Graff). It is also expressed in this chapter that students feel uncomfortable agreeing with arguments made or disagreeing. On page 63 the authors also recognize Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Argumentative Essay On The Holocaust The Holocaust The Holocaust started in the 1933, when the Nazis and Adolf Hitler took power in Germany. The Holocaust from the Greek words "holos" (whole) and "kaustos" (burned) cause chaos and tragedy for Jewish people. At this time Germany was a nation with a Jewish population of 566,000 people. Nazis thought that they were the most inferior race and no other race was better than the Aryan race. This cause a lot of discrimination and hate against other people based on their beliefs and looks. The Nazis provoked the outbreak of World War II, when they invaded Poland. The Holocaust lasted 12 years and it end it on May of 1945. The Holocaust was a disaster affecting many people's lives, mainly targeting Jewish people. They were also against Poles, Gypsies, Russians, The Disabled, Jehovah's Witnesses and Homosexuals. During the Holocaust six million Jews were murdered and many others were treated inhuman and killed. People who were affected by the Holocaust were discriminated, segregated and hated. This people were mistreated and their freedom was taking away, just by having different beliefs and have a different looks. Around this time the Nazis came up with the term "The Final Solution" This meant to have all Jewish people segregated and put into ghettos, limiting their freedom and lives. People were evicted from their properties and also from their business just because they were Jews, and they were put in the "ghettos". Life in the ghettos was unbearable and overcrowding. Specially when they have ten families living in one small apartment. They were also limited on the food that they could buy, since Nazis did not let them buy enough food for them and their family they were only aloud to buy small amounts, they were trying to make the Jewish starve. Jewish kids also sneak out through small openings in the ghetto walls to smuggle food, but if they got caught they were going to be severely punished. The housing inside ghettos were unsanitary specially when plumping broke down, and human waste was thrown in the streets along with garbage and caused contagious diseases that spread rapidly in the ghettos. Many people died every day in the ghettos because of the terrible conditions they lived and some Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. The Critical Race Theory Essay example Introduction We live in a society where race is seen as a vital part of our personalities, the lack of racial identity is very often an important factor which prevent people from not having their own identity (Omi & Winant, 1993). Racism is extemely ingrained in our society and it seems ordinary (Delgado & Stefanic, 2000), however, many people denounce the expression of any racist belief as immoral (Miles & Brown, 2003) highlighting the complicated nature of racism. Critical Race Theory tries to shed light on the issue of racism claiming that racism is ingrained in our society both in legal, cultural, and psychological aspects of social life (Tate, 1997). This essay provides us the opportunity to explore this theory and its...show more content... Critical Race Theory (CRT) claims that racism is quite usual in social life and white superiority is extremely ingrained in educational, legal, and political structures which is often unrecognizable (Taylor, 2009). According to Delgado and Stefanic (2000): ''CRT begins with an a number of basic insticts. One is that racism is normal, not abberrant, in American society. Because racism is an ingrained feature of our landscape, it looks ordinary and natural to persons in the culture. Formal equal opportunity – rules and laws that insist on treating blacks and whites (for example) alike – can thus remedy only the more extreme and shocking forms of injustice, the ones that do stand out. It can do little about the business–as–usual forms of racism that people of color confront every day and that account for much misery, alienation, and despair'' (Delgado & Stefanic, 2000: xvi). Although, this theory began as a part of law sciences, nowadays, there is a great interest of CRT in the field of education, helping people to understand some forms of discrimination which face the non–white people in education (Delgado & Stefanic, 2001). Moreover, embraces a lot of academic fields such as history, political science, anthropology etc (Delgado & Stefanic, 2001). CRT main purpose is not only to understand the social structures that promote inequalities but to eliminate them, it is clear that CRT targets on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Argumentative Essay : Argumentative Writing As long as humanity has differentiated view points, there will be the need for argument. Whether the argument is about who will be the next leader of a free country or as simple as whether or not you bleed AC Milan Rosso or Internazionale Azzurro in Milano, argument allows people to have discussions while trying to prove each other wrong or convince someone to change their views. Under the umbrella of arguing there is a very intelligent method to argue that is called argumentative writing. With argumentative writing a person can put all of their ideas into an organized, well developed paper that attracts and engages a reader. While most people prefer arguing in person, one is susceptible to interruptions from the opposing side or as well as having to think on the fly and keep their train of thought going while constantly countering what the opposition is saying; but with argumentative writing one can freely express all their ideas without opposition until a person is finished reading their paper. That being said, argumentative writing can be looked at metaphorically like a dance. To explain, when you see another person at a club or an event that you think is cute, you have to engage them in an icebreaking conversation. Then when the house band or DJ starts playing you ask the person to dance. While dancing you have to keep up with the beat and keep your partner actively engaged with the music. If you begin to slip up or lose the beat, your partner can become disinterested Get more content on HelpWriting.net
