2. • This magazine advert is of the hip hop artist Wretch
32, and advertises his debut album
“Wretchrospective”. The advert features a large image
of the artist in stereotypical Hip Hop clothes: baggy
trousers, large top and chains hanging from his jeans.
The use of editing has painted the background and his
arms in graffiti style which reinforces the Hip Hop
genre.

page and helps promote the album by saying
“featuring guest appearances from
Ghetto, Scorcher, Chipmunk, Darren B, Haydon and
more...”. This attracts people as they may be a fan of
these other artists as well as Wretch 32.
• In the bottom right of the advert, it says were the
album can be bought from which allows people to
easily purchase the album. It also features the
MySpace page “myspace.com/wretchclart” which
allows people to find out more information about the
album and artist. Under this, there is an image of the
album itself which is the same image as on the
advert, which lets people easily recognise the album
and make them want to buy it.
• The artists name “Wretch 32” is written in stylised pen
in the corner, this is a recognisable logo of the artist
which will be recognised by fans, and also reinforces
the Hip hop genre.
