2. Photoshop exercise
The process of the Photoshop
• I took a photograph of a box that was on top of a bin outside the classroom
•Then I took away the box and bin and took a photograph of the exact same area
• Then I saved the both images and uploaded them to the computer
• Thirdly, I opened Photoshop and created a new format, making sure it was landscape (90 degrees) A4 on international paper
•I placed the photograph in the centre, the photograph with no bin and box in it
•I then overlaid this image with the bin and the box and placed it on top
•I then held shift and cropped both images so they fit to exactly A4 paper
•I then rasterized the images so Photoshop could read them clearly
•Moreover, I used the magnetic lasso in the corner to crop out everything but the bin
•Once the bin was successfully cut correctly, I then placed this image on the photograph I took without the objects, making it look like the bin was floating in
the air
• I moved this image around until it got to the correct place that I wanted it to stand
•Once the image was were I wanted it to be, successfully floating in the air I then duplicated the layer in order to create a shadow, making it look realistic
•I then transformed this image, distorting it in order to create the shadow
•It created a box around the copied layer so then I held shift and dragged each corner, adjusting it till it was at the right angle
•Once this angle was right and looked realistic, I then saved this imaged and uploaded it to a PowerPoint
List the skills you have gained through this Photoshop activity
•I have been able to successfully created an image that looks realistic from Photoshop
•I have gained a lot of knowledge on how Photoshop works and I understand it a lot clearer
•I now know how to work with Photoshop, and I am a lot more confident with the topic
•I am able to duplicate shadows and make them look even more realistic
•I have found out a much easier way to crop out certain objects by using the magnetic lasso, which is a lot quicker and less time consuming
•I can successfully create shadows to make the image look a lot more realistic
•I can now change the contrast and brightness of the image so it the box looks more in place
