3. Process
• I took a picture of the model standing on a chair using a tripod to ensure the picture was in
the same place and wasn't blurry due to hand movements.
• Then I took away the chair and the model and took a picture of the background only.
• I then placed the two pictures onto photo shop on a plain white A4 landscape (rotating by 90
from portrait) template with the picture including the model on top of the plain background.
• The two layers were then rasterized to make them readable for photo shop to allow editing.
• I then hid the layer of the plain background so the picture with the model was on top of the
white template.
• I then selected the lasso tool and began to cut around the model and take away the
background and the chair she is standing on so she is the only part of the picture left on the
template.
• The model was then copied and pasted onto a new layer so she was completely separate.
• I then clicked the eye on the left of the background layer to make it visible again so the model
is now seen “floating” on the background.
• Then I clicked on the layer of the model on and clicked on layer in the menu bar and
duplicated the layer.
• Then I selected the duplicate layer and clicked on image in the top menu bar and clicked flip
vertical so the duplicate layer is now a reflection of the original image.
• The duplicate image is now made translucent so it looks more like a reflection.
• I then distort the duplicate image so that it lies on the floor and increases the authenticity of
the reflection.
