Meyers Briggs Type Indicator Test Essay
1.My four letter type that I got on the Meyers Briggs Type indicator test was ENFP. The corresponding numbers with the letters I got were E
–21, N–6,
F–14, and P–14.
2.The first letter that I got was E, which stands for Extraversion. The opposite of E is I, which stands for Intuitive. The reason I believe that I got E
is because I feel like I have to be around people to get my energy, whereas for an intuitiveperson, they like to get their energy back by hanging out by
themselves. A lot of the times I like to go out and have good times with my friends and enjoy all the energy it takes and for an intuitive person, they
go out a little bit, but not as much as an extravert. The next letter I was given was N, which stands for intuition. The opposite of N is S, which
stands for Sensing. I believe that I was given N is because I always wonder what could be and people who are sensing, focus on what is here in front
of them. I really enjoy imagining things that are in reach. I really do not feel like anything is impossible if you just set your mind to it. The third letter I

The five traits that I picked out of my list were friendly, curious, enthusiastic, versatile, and imaginative. Out of all the options the list, I picked
these because they fit me the most. I picked friendly because I feel like I am a friendly person and I think that it is really important to treat people
how you would want to be treated. The next one I picked was curious because I am a very curious person and I always wonder "What could be".
Enthusiastic is a big one for me because I play baseball and it is a very important trait to have while playing the sport. Versatile is also another big
one for baseball because being versatile can really help you in the sport. If you are able to play more than one position, that is a good thing. The last
trait I chose was imaginative because I really like to think about things that could make the world better. I really believe that anything is

Reading And Writing On My Life
If I said that reading was important to me right now, I would definitely be lying. I can't sit down for extended periods of time and enjoy a good book
like I used to. When I was in elementary school, and even when I was going into high school, I was never seen without a book. When I was younger I
could finish a new book every single week. But it was very easy for me to fall out of love with reading as I was being introduced to new technologies.
It started with a Nintendo Wii. Sometimes I find it difficult to admit that I even owned one, but the best way to get over embarrassment is to talk
about it right? Never the less, it was the beginning of the end of my love for reading. My earliest recollections about reading and writing were very
enjoyable for me. Reading had a huge impact on my life. In a way, I guess you could even say that some of these experiences made me as literate
and knowledgeable as I am today. It was the first time in my life that I can truly remember feeling genuinely good about myself. A while after I had
gotten a Nintendo Wii, I got my first cell phone. It was a Nokia. Obviously it was nothing special, but at the time it was extremely useful and I
loved having it around. I then moved on to own an HTC and now an IPhone. And not long after I got my IPhone, I bought a Playstation 4, an Xbox
360, and a Playstation 2. I honestly believe that technology was the main reason I stopped reading. Now that I have been out of the habit of reading
for nearly 6

Rosa Parks Heroes
Everyone has somehow been a hero to someone, in one point of their life, even though they may not have known at the time or was recognized for it.
They may have shown heroic qualities or stood up for someone, maybe even for people who were too shy to do it themselves. Heroes are
quick–thinking, determined people that put the needs of others before themselves, like Rosa Parks because of her refusal to move seats on the bus.
But, heroes don't wear capes or special costumes, like in movies, they are just typical, ordinary people.

And they probably don't have the abilities to fly. For example, an ordinary person can be a hero to someone, they don't need to have a cape or any
special costume, "every day, there are 'ordinary' people who act like heroes when they courageously defend or protect others" (Do all heroes have
super powers?). This shows how you don't need to be able to fly to be a hero or anything like that. You can just do what you do, and help others
that may need your help, in different situations. There's no right or wrong was to do it! Another example is that, in September 2001, the twin
towers in New York were both knocked down by two different planes, and immediately, "thousands of emergency personnel, including firefighters,
police, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and paramedics, responded to the scene to help rescue as many people as possible" (Do all heroes
have super powers?). This shows that these people weren't dressed in capes or anything, they were there to save the people in the towers. There are
many more examples of people from everyday life, other than this one, that show that everyone can be heroes in some way or another, and we see
examples of these people everyday! Capes, special costumes, or even having the capabilities to fly, are all misunderstandings of what true heroes are,
and now you know that you don't need those things to be a hero, you can come as you

What Is A Special Person Essay
Amazing, beautiful, supportive, loving, and trustworthy–– I could go on and on, but these are all words that describe one extraordinary person, my
mom, Alanna Rawson. I have lived 14 great years because of one person, my life giver. I finally get to tell a story about my best friend, my amazing
teacher, and the special women who loves me more than I could ever imagine. Kids aren't typically very close with their mom; like most, I wasn't close
with my mom either when I was young. Throughout my middle school years I started to get closer and closer with my mom; although, middle school
was so hard for me with all the ridiculous drama, awful rumors, and fake friends, I learned so much. Through all those situations, whether they were
good or bad, she taught to be kind no matter what because people never know what others are going through. Also always to do the right thing, it's
simple, but it's true, and to love unconditionally because people don't know when they are going to lose something they really care about. Ever since

year, my mom thought I had ADD so when I was thirteen she brought me to the doctor. When my mom and I went to the doctor we found out I had
very bad ADHD; however, after being diagnosed my mom thought she was a horrible mother because she didn't bring me in sooner. She felt so bad
about it, she was sad for weeks! If that doesn't show how much she cares, I don't know what would. Through that whole situation she was my greatest

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): A Psychological Analysis
Introduction:
Throughout the past six weeks, I have learned about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Each person you meet with ASD has different characteristics.
Some examples of these characteristics include: difficulty telling lies, difficulty talking to strangers, and possessing a special talent. It's important to
understand these characteristics because it can help a neurotypical person with being aware of what is going through their head. Specific Trait #1: Many
people who have ASD have trouble lying. This is because it is hard for them to understand a what–if possibility since they survive on logic. A.) In The
Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Christopher has trouble lying to people he meets. When Christopher tells us, "everything I have written...
is true" (20). The idea of truth is so central to Christopher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He explains, " I do not like strangers because I do not like people i've never met before. They are hard to understand..."(34). This makes sense because
the people around him know he has difficulty understanding with body language, while strangers will speak to him in ways he doesn't understand.
B.) Oskar's communicational skills are different that many others. While Oskar was young, his father created a "business card" to help him talk to
strangers. In the movie Extremely loud and incredibly close, Oskar shows is card to every new person he speaks to. This helps guide him in what to say.
C.) Nicky from Today's Man, has difficulty in understanding what people are trying to say. For example, when his boss brings him into a private room
to discuss his behavior. He fights her on why he he went through someone's mail or made insulting comments. He doesn't understand what is right and
wrong to say at that moment in time.
Specific Trait #3: Those who have ASD, may possessing a special talent. This is because it allows them to focus their attention and efforts towards a
skill or area of

Personal Narrative: A Person With Special Disabilities
Living the past 13 years with my autistic brother has given me great insight into the needs of a person with special disabilities. Helping him
navigate his friendships and school challenges has taught me the importance of patience and perseverance. Two uncle of mine are Latino and have
educated me to appreciate and value cultural differences that I would not otherwise been aware of. One is an immigrant from Guadalajara, Mexico
and didn't speak English that was easy for me to understand for quite awhile. I learned to listen more carefully when he spoke, and actually learned a
little Spanish from him. My generation has a greater awareness of LGBT issues and concerns. I feel blessed to have friends that are pan–sexual, and

Special Connection Research Paper
Connections
Everyone has formed some sort of special connection in their life. These sort of connections can come in any form. Whether it's a person like your
best friend, object like a camera or favorite pair of shoes, or a feeling/spiritual connection. These connections can impact your life, your character, and
may have an influence on the person you become later on in life, even if you don't notice. I believe in the special connections in life and how they
impact you.
One of the special connections I've had is with my one of my best friends and she has truly impacted me as a person. My cousin, Emma, always seems
to know what's happening in my life because she knows me better than just about everyone. Even though she lives in New York, she's

Definition Essay On Ownership
Ownership Essay
Your neighbors may own multiple vehicles. You may own an Iphone 6. Your school mate may own almost every video game ever made. What do you
and these people have in common? You all own objects. But what does it mean to "own" something? Ownership can mean far more than having
possessions with your name on them. Ownership relates to your sense of self and personal identity.
Philosophers like Aristotle and Plato believed that owning tangible items relates to how one sees himself. Being human, we brag about who owns what
and how much of that "what" they own. Some people believe that the more extravagant items they own, the more he,or she, is "worth". But what does
"owning" something mean? For someone, like a teenager, owning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you own something you worked really hard for, it can teach you to value things more. Working hard for an item you really want allows you to
set targets and strive for the object you desire. For example, a teenager can go out and purchase a vehicle after saving up for many years. It teaches
you that hard work and determination pays off. It's something that you can be proud of and call yours.
Jean–Paul Sartre, a French philosopher, believed that owning something didn't have to come down to owning physical items. What does owning a
very expensive item really mean to you? Having a talent or skill is unique, and unlike tangible items, talents can't be bought and can't be taken away
from you. Having a special gift makes you the person you are and what you are known for. It's something you "own". With it, you're one–of–a–kind and
it makes you feel good about yourself. Ownership of a special talent defines who you are and elevates your self–esteem.
There are many interpretations on what it means to own something. Some people see owning things as a way to show off how much they're worth.
Other people may see owning things as having a capability that other people do not have, like a special gift or skill that makes them unique. Owning
something means being able to call it yours. Whether it's tangible or intangible items, ownership affects your sense of

Life is very complicated. It is full of surprises and problems. Our job is to understand the surprises and to solve the problems in the way which
makes us feel happier. All of us, common or special, have some sort of inspiration and encouragement in our lives. Many personalities walk in and

I analyze others who don't care about their mothers. They treat their mothers like their servants. Sons and daughters order them, make them do work
and in return give them nothing not even respect which is of no cost. This is against human values. She faces several troubles and she bears too much
pain to fulfill our needs but when she grows old, weak and needs a shoulder, selfish people just throw her away like she is nothing to them. They say
to her, "You have gone crazy".
Not they think of their past? Not they take notice of the sleepless nights she had spent for them? Not they remember her support in every moment

Vaporwave Argumentative Essay
Humanities Culminating Project Vaporwave is a microgenre of music started in the early 2010s focused on deconstructing elements of 90s culture,
consumerism, and nostalgia. It's name is a pun on the term "vaporware," which refers to software advertised by companies in the 90s which turn out
to be nonexistent and nothing but vapor. Vaporwave works remix pop songs, Muzak, advertisements, startup sounds, and other cultural material from
the 80s and 90s, to produce hypnotic, almost dreamy music. Blank Banshee 1, the second self titled album from artist Blank Banshee, fuses both
vaporwave and trap, a genre of dance music characterized by deep bass drums and rapid hi hats, and compares the technological utopia predicted by
the 90s to our actual reality.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first track on the album, "B:/ Infinite Login" presents us with a representation of the internet: A building resembling a Japanese temple
textured with the Google search bar and the Wikipedia logo. Nothing is inside except for a lone iPad, which we zoom into to find an abstract space
of colorful cubes. Sites like Wikipedia, Facebook, and Google all tend to feature "clean," minimal layouts. Like a temple, this grants them a sort of
sacredness, where it is impossible for anything to break this static template. The websites become authoritative and dictate the user experience. We
cannot influence or modify them the same way we cannot change the structure of a building. And yet these virtual buildings are inescapable. Like The
Trial, we are powerless as user of a website to truly understand anything about them. Attempting to contact a person who works at YouTube or
Facebook for help is nearly impossible, just like how Josef is unable to find out any information about his own alleged crime. Additionally, it isn't just
that websites alienate ourselves from them, but we've also isolated ourselves from each other. More and more aspects of the Internet are personalized,
from Google's search results to one's Facebook timeline, almost everything is tailored to the individual user. While this can be convenient and even
helpful, it also turns the Internet

Belongingness By Banana Yoshimoto
A definition of belongingness is to have a sense of affinity with the same taste, thought, situation as oneself and put yourself there. Furthermore, it
would be able to be supported from someone and supports someone. In other words, each person who has the above things would support each other.
In addition, the definition of belongingness represented as family and kitchens in the book, Kitchen that was written by Banana Yoshimoto, and both
family and kitchens had the important role to play in establishing the identity of Mikage. In this case, Mikage' family were grandmother, Yuichi, and
Eriko, and kitchen was a place which creates energy to live. Both saved Mikage from lonely and established the identity of Mikage. Mikage's

death of Mikage's grandmother as well as his mother's death. Eriko also had sorrow for the death of her/his wife, who was mother of Yuichi. In this
book, her ex–boyfriend appeared. Mikage sometimes used a word "light" as a symbol of what she wants. If Yuichi and Eriko represent as gentle light,
the ex–boyfriend would be bright light like the sun. He was also a relief for her and she still liked him, but she did not desire a bright light: she
desired a gentle light. According to the book, Mikage said "When my grandmother died the other day, I was taken by surprise" (Yshimoto Banana.
04). The line is written as if it were someone else's affair. In other words, she was not prepared to accept the sudden grandmother 's death at first.
However, she was able to accept her grandmother's death gradually while spending time with Yuichi and Eriko. They did not do anything to her, they
just stood side by her and spent slowly time together. she needed this time. They became the second family for her. Eriko would be like Mikage's
grandmother for Mikage and Yuichi would be a comrade. She would be strongly attracted to the two because they had something like her. In particular,
Yuichi was a big trigger to accept my grandmother's death, and his presence had become more and more strongly after

Shiloh Character Analysis
"Be yourself, everyone else is already taken" (Oscar Wilde). In the enchanting story of Quiet Bunny by Lisa McCue, Quiet Bunny learns to find his
voice through a series of trial and error. Finding one's own special uniqueness is a step toward finding oneself. There are many different ways to
achieve personal enlightenment, including talking to trusted family and friends, not trying to mimic others, and being proud of oneself. In Heather
Henson's novel Dream of Night, Shiloh finds her own personality with the help of a very special horse. Shiloh is a hardened foster child who meets
an old and abused racehorse. Her relationship with the racehorse changes her demeanor and lets the other side of her speak up. While she is sassy and
rude at the beginning of the book, by the end she is "grinning back. A little. Not too much, not yet..." (Henson, 207). She has found her true voice, the
person she is meant to be by enlisting the help of a trusted friend. Other people can bring out the best in people and talk them through difficult times.
Shiloh is also one step closer to true personal enlightenment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Quiet Bunny, from McCue's short story Quiet Bunny, is exactly as the name entails– a quiet bunny. After hearing all the other animals in the forest
sing in the "night song", Quiet Bunny goes on a quest to find his own noise. He tries to mimic all of the other animals but ultimately fails. But on
his way back to the clearing, Quiet Bunny jumps on a log and soon enough he is marching to the beat of his own drum. A wise old owl once told
Quiet Bunny " You are a Quiet Bunny. Be whoooo you are and you will find your own bunny sound." (McCue, n.p.). Quiet Bunny realizes he is
special and ceases to copy others. He knows that finding one's voice in this world is a journey to finding oneself and it is unreasonable to copy other
people because people are unique individuals with unique

Tally's friend, Shay. Zane is a Pretty, but he is crippled. Due to the damage on his brain caused by the "cure" for the brain lesion put in every
Pretty's brain during the operation. Because Zane took only one of the pills and Tally took the other, the pill caused Zane's brain to slowly be eaten

Specials are typically the trickiest citizens. The songs Quiet from Matilda the Musical, Dancing Through Life from Wicked the Musical, and
Revolting Children from Matilda the Musical can represent all the personalities of Tally, Shay, and the Smokies. The main character Tally is a girl
who just wants to fit in, and although in order to fit in she must think like everyone else. However, Tally struggles with calming down and following
the crowd. Being a Special she is supposed to listen to the boss and thinks she is better than everyone else. I think a perfect representation of Tally's

song that shows how much Matilda thinks about

Alcoholism Is Not A New Topic
Alcoholism is not a new topic. Dependence and abuse of alcohol has been the source of constant study and research for years now. Even less unknown
is alcoholism among teenagers today. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism report that "more adolescents use alcohol than
cigarettes or marijuana," and that a national survey in 2014 reveals how "8.7 million young people ages 12–20 reported that they drank alcohol beyond
'just a few sips' in the past month." Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that while adults drink more often than youth, "underage drinkers

Becoming pretty and the operation itself represents alcohol, and the lesions, alcoholism. Scott further explores this link through the two most prominent
characters, Tally Youngblood and her friend Shay.
Tally Youngblood cannot wait to turn sixteen and get the operation that will turn her from an ugly into a pretty, where she can move into Pretty Town
and worry only about having fun. However, her friend Shay decides she would rather stay ugly and runs away before she gets the operation herself.
The authorities – known as Specials and led by Dr. Cable – tell Tally that she can either find Shay and bring her back or stay ugly forever. Initially
choosing to bring Shay in, Tally realizes that she was sent not just to find Shay, but an entire settlement of people who decided to stay ugly, dubbed the
Smoke. It is there that she also learns about the lesions, and armed with this knowledge decides to turn her back on her old dreams of turning pretty. It
is unfortunately too little too late though, and the Specials come and destroy the settlement. The Smoke itself lives to fight another day, but Tally and
Shay are taken back to their city and made pretty.
In the second book, Tally is living it up in Pretty Town. She hangs out with her friend Shay and a new gang called the Crims in a constant world of
partying. Tally is not sure she is Crim material though; she constantly feels echoes of discomfort with her life as is. The story then takes a sudden turn

Character Analysis Of Tally's 'Uglies'
Beautifully Asleep; Hideously Awake As adolescents progress toward adulthood, a drastic reformation of both mental affect and moral worldview is
commonly experienced. Scott Westerfeld–in his novel Uglies–illustrates this commonality of human experience through that of Tally Youngblood, his
societally divergent protagonist. The pivotal moments that signify her gradual, yet distinct moral development are clearly defined in specific segments
of text. Moreover, the actual structure of the novel concretely separates the definitive changes in Tally's moral worldview. It is through these phases
that the Uglies protagonist's character develops from being a slave to society's imposed norms, to a questioning skeptic, and finally to a self–actualized
individual with sound motives and personal passions. In "Pretty" society, a clearly defined hierarchy exists between "Littlies", "Uglies", "New
Pretties", "Middle Pretties", and "Late Pretties". At age 16, each "Ugly" member of society undergoes an appearance altering operation to become
"Pretty" on the pretense of social homogeneity. Tally begins her story as a stereotypically trouble–making Ugly, who–apart from "tricks"–adheres to her
society's laws and norms. On one particular excursion–a trick in which she infiltrates New Pretty Town–Tally makes contact with Peris, an adolescent
love interest that turned Pretty before her. Their dynamic exemplifies Tally's societally conditioned sense of inferiority, clearly represented by the

Wheelchair Stereotypes
Myth 1: Wheelchairs Summary: According to the article 6 Stereotypes of Disability from Disabled We Stand, one of the misconceptions was, "if you're
in a wheelchair, that can mean either that you're deaf, dumb and stupid, or that you're a goddess on wheels. People approach you when they usually
wouldn't approach anyone else." Furthermore, others are drawn to people in wheelchairs because they automatically feel pity and interest in the
difference in lifestyles. Rather than letting a wheelchair define someone's character, personality, or life, perhaps getting to know the individual would
be a more accurate representation of who they are as a person. Example(s) Dispelling or Perpetuating: In the film Darius ... Show more content on

The fact that she was able to create easily accessible clothing for individuals with disabilities was astounding and I was, frankly, blown away by her
accomplishments. She was able to travel to New York City to participate in fashion shows and had a little bit of difficulty when operating the ramps,

understand her over time. Delaina is the perfect example of an individual with a disability who does not need help. She comes up with her own
sketches, operates her own wheelchair, and can type into her computer to let us know what she is thinking. Her brilliance was apparent when she
talked about how dedicated she was to her sketches and how she was honored to attend the University of Florida. Instead of seeing Delaina as an

A Narrative Essay About Working With A Special Person
Working with people, especially those who have complex disabilities has been my passion since my teens. My 1st experience working with someone
who was nonverbal and had autism was babysitting my neighbor; this experience started me on my life path. Since then I have been a special

through the year 2016–2017 and standing with dignity and pride for all the hard work she has done for humanity in her lifetime.
This person deserves this award because they're the most hardworking and determined person that I have ever met. This person goes out of their
way to help people even when she needs help herself, but still knows when she also needs time to focus on what she needs done. She is so spiritually
in tune with life that any hard decision or roadblock that comes her way, doesn't phase her, because she knows that somehow, someway, it will work
itself out. She's given up so much to help her family, but just when you think that's all she can take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is 58 years of age, married to Stan Rice, and graduated high school in the year 1984. After high school she went on to college to get her associate's
degree in Business Transportation Law Management. She worked at Truckers Exchange for almost all of her life until 2012 when she decided her
life had another calling, and that was to help the mentally handicapped, Rebecca had enough experience with truckers yelling at her all day everyday
that she knew this job would be just right for a little piece and quiet. From then on she went to work for Bost.
Rebecca knew that she loved helping people, but wanted to go back to school, after working for "Bost" for three years, she went to go get her CNA
license, which she successfully succeeded at getting in 2015. Shortly after getting her license, she went to work for Valley Springs Rehabilitation

Human Trafficking Is Today 's Version Of Slavery
We Are People Human trafficking is today's version of slavery. Victims are forced into labor, prostitution, and other exploitations. In 2007 three
brothers conspired together to trafficked women from Mexico to New York, Queens. The brothers threatened, assaulted, and psychologically coerced
the young women and minors into prostitution. These men were committed to sex trafficking that one of the brothers, Victor Leonel Estrada– Tepal,
forced his wife, who was only seventeen at the time, into their sex trafficking trade. The brothers did not tell the women the real truth of why they
were taking them to the United States. In January 2014 the three brothers were arrested and in 2015 they plead guilty to sex trafficking through the
use of force, fraud, and coercion of the young women. The brothers are facing a minimum of fifteen years in prison to a life sentence in prison.
According to HSI Special Agent–in–Charge Hayes, "These men preyed on innocent women, luring them into the United States under false pretenses
and then cruelly enslaving them to satisfy their own greed in a ruthless prostitution scheme" ("Justice News"). These men are only one example of
human traffickers. Human trafficking is a globally wide problem and countries are not working together to end this issue. Society should focus on
achieving international human rights and promote an internal standard of laws against human trafficking. Although Utilitarians argue we should

Family walks in and out of your life every day. Some families move on through the heartache and pain, and others hold on to that one somebody who
has made a lasting impression on their life. Fifty–two years of my life I was gratefully blessed to have a very special person in my life. That special
person was there for everything from birth, to now. Everyone has certain people in their lives that mean a lot to them, but it really takes a great
person to be special to you. My life was always full of joy, I had 6 sisters but the oldest was the one who kept everything in line for us. I'm the

The Uglie Critical Analysis
According to Merriam–Webster dictionary, the word realization is defined as, "an act of becoming fully aware of something as a fact." Being able to
realize the ultimate desires and goals in life is apart of each of the texts. In the book The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, the story shows characters
realizing objectives through point of view when Tally Youngbloodis faced with the truth about getting an operation to become pretty. Likewise, in
"The Third and Final Continent" by Jhumpa Lahiri, the message of realization is developed through symbolism of the narrator's experience in a new
world. The theme as shown in "The Art of Resilience" by Hara Estroff Marano is expressed through conflict. The use of point of view, symbolism and
conflict create the theme, a person must become self–aware to realize their goals, in the texts The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, "The Third and Final
Continent" by Jhumpa Lahiri, and "The Art of Resilience" by Hara Estroff Marano. In The Uglies, the lesson of becoming self–aware is communicated
through the main character, Tally Youngblood's, point of view. At first, Tally Youngblood longs to receive an operation to turn herself pretty after
being viewed as ugly most of her life. After she was denied the surgery because of complications with a friend, she started becoming sensitive about
the label given to her. The author wrote, "She'd been an ugly for four years, but a few extra days had brought home to her exactly what the word really
meant"

The Is A Special Person Of The Individual Person And Of...
While reading I came across a passage From Gaudium et Spes chapter 1 number 48 that stated "the well being of the individual person and of human
and Christian society is intimately linked with the healthy condition of that community produced by marriage." (Gaudium pg 49) I decided to choice
this passage because I do believe strongly believe that God has put a special person on this earth for us to find and once we do we will become one in
marriage for as long as they both shall live.
God provides us with the desire and ability to seek out and find a partner and get married. He provides us with marriage as protection to us and a

So that each person has a purpose to fulfill their life to fullest, when people have children they know that one day their child can make a difference in
the world.
Having children makes two people realize how wonderful life is and how blessed they are to be able to make a human being that will forever be
theirs. Two people became one because of the birth of their child. They knew their life purpose as a married couple was to produce children because
God has said they are a gift from him that he bestows on married couples. We should cherish children and encourage them to the best they can be.
Before children we were nothing and now since a man and a woman have given birth to a child they now have a purpose in life to be the best mother
and father that they can be.
One of the passages that I thought went with my Gaudium et Spes was in Genesis 1:27–28 " God created man in his own image, in the image of God
he created him; male and female created them. And God blessed them and said "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have
dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth." (Bible pg 13)This goes with saying

Symbols in "Uglies"
Judy Burnside Mrs. McClure English 11 Honors, Period 7 3 Jan 2013 Have you ever wanted to be perfect? Have you ever wanted a perfect
society? Imagine a place where everyone was equally beautiful, and there were no responsibilities or worries. A place where you were given
everything you could've ever asked for. If you had a place this luxurious, would you still want it? Sometimes we think our lives would be fulfilled if
we were smarter, or prettier, or more athletic. It is these times that we neglect to see how great our lives already are. This is the theme of Scott
Westerfeld's novel, Uglies. Like all great writers, Scott Westerfeld supports the theme of his novel with symbolism that is hidden in every character and

Cable tells Tally, "'Then I'll make you a promise too, Tally Youngblood. Until you help us, to the very best of your ability, you will never be pretty"
(Loc 1309). After hearing this, Tally reluctantly agrees to help Dr. Cable find Shay. This moment is important because it symbolizes weakness and
selfishness in human nature. Sometimes, we are willing to go against someone we love if it benefits ourselves. Tally wants to be perfect so badly that
she is willing to turn her friend in to the authorities to get the operation she wants. Dr. Cable gives Tally supplies to get to the Rusties and a
heart–shaped locket that she is to activate when she finds Shay. Once Tally activates it, Special Circumstances will be able to find the location of
the Rusties and arrest any outlaws living there. Tally travels for several days and nights and finally gets to the Rusties. Shay is happy to see her,
and immediately introduces her to all of her new friends. These friends include David, a sixteen year old that ran away from the surgery because
he wanted to stay pure. When Tally meets him, she thinks to herself, "He was an ugly, but he had a nice smile. And his face held a kind of
confidence Tally had never seen in an ugly before" (Loc 2180). David represents pureness and reality. In our world, we classify someone as beautiful

Uglies Scott Westerfeld Character Analysis
In the book Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, the character, Tally Youngblood, changes quite a bit. In the beginning of the book, all Tally wants to do is
become pretty and join her best friend in New Pretty Town for endless partying, sleeping in, and being treated like Gods and Goddesses. However,
when Dr. Cable from Special Circumstances sends Tally on a quest that puts Tally's prettiness at stake, Tally uncovers a horrifying truth about turning
pretty, and her perspective changes completely. She will do anything to keep herself, and the people she cares about safe from this disturbing reality.
She even gives herself up, to potentially save the lives of millions.
At first, Tally cannot wait to finally turn pretty and spend the rest of her life with Peris, having fun. She finds life as an ugly meaningless until you turn
sixteen, and undergo the operation that changes your life forever. Tally even risks getting in serious trouble, and enduring loads of embarrassment by

Character Analysis Of Tally Youngblood
Dynamic Character: Tally Youngblood The Uglies is a dystopian novel about a young girl living in a futuristic society with a very controlling
government. Scott Westerfeld's character, Tally Youngblood, is the protagonist of his novel. Tally changes and progresses as her story is told, making
her a very dynamic character. As you read you discover that she an adolescent who is selfish and will do anything to become a "Pretty", but as her
story goes on her traits change from a selfish, immature, and outspoken girl to a brave, mature, and caring young woman. Tally Youngblood's
characteristics alter so much due to being forced onto a journey into foreign land to sell out her friend or else her dream of becoming a "Pretty" will
never come true. "Dynamic is a constant change, activity, or progress" (Google Dictionary). This word describes Tally Youngblood perfectly. In the
novel the Uglies, Tally is a constant evolving character. In the beginning chapters, she expresses how much she wants to become a "Pretty" to
anyone who will listen. She is very stubborn and knows exactly she wants; therefore, she will not let anything get in the way of that, even if that
means selling out her best friend. Tally is an immature girl causing trouble and play tricks in the first half of the novel, but her traits change once she
is put into a position where it is either Dr. Cable's way or no way. She is alone braving the dangers and elements on her journey outside the city and
into the Smoke. She becomes more brave and intelligent. Tally's journey causes her to mature and realize that not everything is about becoming a
"Pretty". Tally Youngblood is so dynamic because she progresses and changes throughout the entire novel. Scott Wersterfeld's character, Tally
Youngblood, has such a diverse personality to accommodate with the society she grew up in. Tally grows up in a futuristic society with a government
that trains you to hate yourself, because of this society she grew up immature, selfish, and self–absorbed. All the "uglies" are not supposed to want to
stay ugly because the one life goal they are intended to have is to become a "Pretty" and that is it. Tally's diversity kicks in when she is challenged
and has to put her dream to

Analysis Of The Book ' The Hunger Games ' By Scott Westerfeld
Freedom of choice, the transference of power away from and to the oppressed, and rebellion against societal norms: these are some of the many
ingredients of a book that hailed a new approach toward writing, trailblazing a whole subgenre of fictitious works. This book, a book which will stand
the test of time, embodies the female struggle in an oppressive society. This book, Scott Westerfeld'sUglies, will survive as it became a beacon in the
new style of young adult dystopian novels with female protagonists. This book, much in the same way that Charlotte BrontГ«'s Jane Eyre inspired
writers like Jean Rhys to write Wide Sargasso Sea and Gilbert and Gubar to pen the first edition of The Madwoman in the Attic, opened the path for

This name, while not as dehumanizing as Rochester's other signifiers of choice, diminishes Jane to the level of a child, once again placing Rochester
in a position of power over Jane.
The concept of naming as a tool to shape relationships is a time–tested literary tool, which in addition to being employed in Jane Eyre, also features as a
major discourse in Uglies. "Uglies' slang is...ugly. It's all about giving people nicknames that highlights their ugliness–Skinny, Squint," the difference
between Uglies' use of naming and Jane Eyre's use of naming is that in Uglies the young adults impress upon each other these oppressive names rather
than a more privileged individual bestowing the names, which lower their own self esteems(Wilkinson 10). This tactic of encouraging self–depreciating
names is a practice which internalizes the need in the young citizens to live for the day in which they turn sixteen and can be "reprieved" of their
undesirable traits, their skinny frames and squinty eyes. Stylistically, the two books can be compared on the use of character foils to indirectly
characterize the main protagonist; character foils, a subtle, indirect characterization formed by comparison of characters, appears in the foil of Jane
Eyre and Bertha Rochester and the foil of Tally Youngbloodand Dr.Cable. In The Madwoman in the

Themes In Scott Westerfeld's Uglies And The Third And...
Imagine if an individual conquering his/her largest challenge presents one with an incredible reward. Surprisingly, this idea is shared between three
uncommon literature works. Within Scott Westerfeld's Uglies, the main character, Tally Youngblood, triumphed through an exhausting and tough
journey to a place that leads her to learn about self–worth. Furthermore, The Third and Final Continent describes the narrator, Jhumpa Lahiri's,
adventure of his life through three continents and poor living conditions during that time resulting in Jhumpa Lahiri finally finding a value in life. In
Rudyard Kipling's poem, "If", the audience witnesses if statements that express if someone conquers the troubles in their life, the world will be theirs.
Incredibly, among three unlike compositions, a common theme, overcoming obstacles and being honored with a sentimental reward, is conveyed
through plot, cause and effect, and characterization. Between Uglies and The Third and Final Continent, the moral surpassing struggles and receive an
award is displayed through the literary device, plot. For justification, both storylines included developed characters, an exposition, a descriptive setting,
one or multiple conflicts, necessary rising and falling actions, an intense climax, and a resolution. As evidence, Tally, from Uglies, defeated her rough
trip to her destination and enjoyed her freedom as she "fell into the routines of the Smoke" (Westerfeld 218). Generally, following the same daily

Stereotypes In Uglies By Scott Westerfeld
The image of a person is often something that gets judged very quickly in society. People often see others and instantly think of something about that
person. Men, women and children are all outcast for many different reasons. Society judges people for traits including, skin colour, gender, hair color,
and body type. The media and society constantly make people feel bad about the way they look. In Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld, the main theme is
about finding one's identity in a world that already has one made up for them. Despite this theme, the characters in the novel do not strive to overcome
society's stereotypes. The pretties, specials and the uglies do not try to break out of society's ways and find their own identities. After the operations, ...

hurt you. But we will if we have to." This line shows how the specials have very little emotions and feelings. They have a mission and they will do
anything to achieve it. They do not look for anything to change and if it were up to them nothing ever

will be to average one "Full House" every week we are open for the season, for a total of 26 nights of having a "Full House". To help achieve this goal
we will be targeting the middle–class families and people who travel with their pets.
We will have a $50,000 marketing budget for the 2017 season and this plan will outline the areas the funds will be spent, how they will be spent and
who we will be marketing too. Some of the funds will be used to expand our marketing potential and some will be used to market that potential. Some
funds will be used in new ways while others will be expanding older marketing elements that are already in play.

Teamwork and communication are two of the core keys to construct an effective and harmonious atmosphere yet Mazey's nitpicking behavior and

No doubt that Mazey is an aggressive communicator who always tries to manipulate people to do what he wants. One of the representative
examples is that when Frazer first met Mazey he was shocked by Mazey's outrageous behavior of ordering him to stand "right here" and pointing a
spot in front of his desk. By doing so at their first time meet, Mazey wanted to show that "this is my place and all of you should listen to me". In

Discrimination Based On Physical Appearance
Discrimination based on physical appearance, or lookism, has had a heavy impact throughout history. For example, it is a common belief that John
F. Kennedy's more favorable looks were a contributing factor in his 1960 presidential win against Richard Nixon. To a lot of people, it may appear
that beautiful people have an unfair advantage in life. As a result of this belief, a world where becoming beautiful is a rite of passage for all people
seems to have an almost utopia–like quality, but that is not the case in the dystopian novel Specials by Scott Westerfeld. This book is an excellent

Although the special surgery's goal is to make people perfect, Tally still walks away from it with some major character flaws, one being how

Meyers Briggs Type Indicator Test Essay

  • 1. Meyers Briggs Type Indicator Test Essay 1.My four letter type that I got on the Meyers Briggs Type indicator test was ENFP. The corresponding numbers with the letters I got were E –21, N–6, F–14, and P–14. 2.The first letter that I got was E, which stands for Extraversion. The opposite of E is I, which stands for Intuitive. The reason I believe that I got E is because I feel like I have to be around people to get my energy, whereas for an intuitiveperson, they like to get their energy back by hanging out by themselves. A lot of the times I like to go out and have good times with my friends and enjoy all the energy it takes and for an intuitive person, they go out a little bit, but not as much as an extravert. The next letter I was given was N, which stands for intuition. The opposite of N is S, which stands for Sensing. I believe that I was given N is because I always wonder what could be and people who are sensing, focus on what is here in front of them. I really enjoy imagining things that are in reach. I really do not feel like anything is impossible if you just set your mind to it. The third letter I got ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The five traits that I picked out of my list were friendly, curious, enthusiastic, versatile, and imaginative. Out of all the options the list, I picked these because they fit me the most. I picked friendly because I feel like I am a friendly person and I think that it is really important to treat people how you would want to be treated. The next one I picked was curious because I am a very curious person and I always wonder "What could be". Enthusiastic is a big one for me because I play baseball and it is a very important trait to have while playing the sport. Versatile is also another big one for baseball because being versatile can really help you in the sport. If you are able to play more than one position, that is a good thing. The last trait I chose was imaginative because I really like to think about things that could make the world better. I really believe that anything is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Reading And Writing On My Life If I said that reading was important to me right now, I would definitely be lying. I can't sit down for extended periods of time and enjoy a good book like I used to. When I was in elementary school, and even when I was going into high school, I was never seen without a book. When I was younger I could finish a new book every single week. But it was very easy for me to fall out of love with reading as I was being introduced to new technologies. It started with a Nintendo Wii. Sometimes I find it difficult to admit that I even owned one, but the best way to get over embarrassment is to talk about it right? Never the less, it was the beginning of the end of my love for reading. My earliest recollections about reading and writing were very enjoyable for me. Reading had a huge impact on my life. In a way, I guess you could even say that some of these experiences made me as literate and knowledgeable as I am today. It was the first time in my life that I can truly remember feeling genuinely good about myself. A while after I had gotten a Nintendo Wii, I got my first cell phone. It was a Nokia. Obviously it was nothing special, but at the time it was extremely useful and I loved having it around. I then moved on to own an HTC and now an IPhone. And not long after I got my IPhone, I bought a Playstation 4, an Xbox 360, and a Playstation 2. I honestly believe that technology was the main reason I stopped reading. Now that I have been out of the habit of reading for nearly 6 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Rosa Parks Heroes Everyone has somehow been a hero to someone, in one point of their life, even though they may not have known at the time or was recognized for it. They may have shown heroic qualities or stood up for someone, maybe even for people who were too shy to do it themselves. Heroes are quick–thinking, determined people that put the needs of others before themselves, like Rosa Parks because of her refusal to move seats on the bus. But, heroes don't wear capes or special costumes, like in movies, they are just typical, ordinary people. Heroes are quick–thinking, determined people, that put the needs of others before themselves. For example, ordinary people can inadvertently become a hero, and have people look up to them, "they are people who demonstrate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And they probably don't have the abilities to fly. For example, an ordinary person can be a hero to someone, they don't need to have a cape or any special costume, "every day, there are 'ordinary' people who act like heroes when they courageously defend or protect others" (Do all heroes have super powers?). This shows how you don't need to be able to fly to be a hero or anything like that. You can just do what you do, and help others that may need your help, in different situations. There's no right or wrong was to do it! Another example is that, in September 2001, the twin towers in New York were both knocked down by two different planes, and immediately, "thousands of emergency personnel, including firefighters, police, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and paramedics, responded to the scene to help rescue as many people as possible" (Do all heroes have super powers?). This shows that these people weren't dressed in capes or anything, they were there to save the people in the towers. There are many more examples of people from everyday life, other than this one, that show that everyone can be heroes in some way or another, and we see examples of these people everyday! Capes, special costumes, or even having the capabilities to fly, are all misunderstandings of what true heroes are, and now you know that you don't need those things to be a hero, you can come as you ... • 4. What Is A Special Person Essay Amazing, beautiful, supportive, loving, and trustworthy–– I could go on and on, but these are all words that describe one extraordinary person, my mom, Alanna Rawson. I have lived 14 great years because of one person, my life giver. I finally get to tell a story about my best friend, my amazing teacher, and the special women who loves me more than I could ever imagine. Kids aren't typically very close with their mom; like most, I wasn't close with my mom either when I was young. Throughout my middle school years I started to get closer and closer with my mom; although, middle school was so hard for me with all the ridiculous drama, awful rumors, and fake friends, I learned so much. Through all those situations, whether they were good or bad, she taught to be kind no matter what because people never know what others are going through. Also always to do the right thing, it's simple, but it's true, and to love unconditionally because people don't know when they are going to lose something they really care about. Ever since my relationship with my mom has grown I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have the most loving mom anyone could ever ask for. Having gone through rough times in my life thus far, my moms there to comfort me, talk me through all situations whether they were good or bad, and she's just there to help. My mom cares so much about me. All through my life up until last year, my mom thought I had ADD so when I was thirteen she brought me to the doctor. When my mom and I went to the doctor we found out I had very bad ADHD; however, after being diagnosed my mom thought she was a horrible mother because she didn't bring me in sooner. She felt so bad about it, she was sad for weeks! If that doesn't show how much she cares, I don't know what would. Through that whole situation she was my greatest supporter. • 5. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): A Psychological Analysis Introduction: Throughout the past six weeks, I have learned about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Each person you meet with ASD has different characteristics. Some examples of these characteristics include: difficulty telling lies, difficulty talking to strangers, and possessing a special talent. It's important to understand these characteristics because it can help a neurotypical person with being aware of what is going through their head. Specific Trait #1: Many people who have ASD have trouble lying. This is because it is hard for them to understand a what–if possibility since they survive on logic. A.) In The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Christopher has trouble lying to people he meets. When Christopher tells us, "everything I have written... is true" (20). The idea of truth is so central to Christopher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He explains, " I do not like strangers because I do not like people i've never met before. They are hard to understand..."(34). This makes sense because the people around him know he has difficulty understanding with body language, while strangers will speak to him in ways he doesn't understand. B.) Oskar's communicational skills are different that many others. While Oskar was young, his father created a "business card" to help him talk to strangers. In the movie Extremely loud and incredibly close, Oskar shows is card to every new person he speaks to. This helps guide him in what to say. C.) Nicky from Today's Man, has difficulty in understanding what people are trying to say. For example, when his boss brings him into a private room to discuss his behavior. He fights her on why he he went through someone's mail or made insulting comments. He doesn't understand what is right and wrong to say at that moment in time. Helping him navigate his friendships and school challenges has taught me the importance of patience and perseverance. Two uncle of mine are Latino and have educated me to appreciate and value cultural differences that I would not otherwise been aware of. One is an immigrant from Guadalajara, Mexico and didn't speak English that was easy for me to understand for quite awhile. These connections can impact your life, your character, and may have an influence on the person you become later on in life, even if you don't notice. • 8. Definition Essay On Ownership Ownership Essay Your neighbors may own multiple vehicles. You may own an Iphone 6. Your school mate may own almost every video game ever made. What do you and these people have in common? You all own objects. But what does it mean to "own" something? Ownership can mean far more than having possessions with your name on them. Ownership relates to your sense of self and personal identity. Philosophers like Aristotle and Plato believed that owning tangible items relates to how one sees himself. Being human, we brag about who owns what and how much of that "what" they own. Some people believe that the more extravagant items they own, the more he,or she, is "worth". But what does "owning" something mean? For someone, like a teenager, owning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When you own something you worked really hard for, it can teach you to value things more. Working hard for an item you really want allows you to set targets and strive for the object you desire. For example, a teenager can go out and purchase a vehicle after saving up for many years. It teaches you that hard work and determination pays off. It's something that you can be proud of and call yours. Jean–Paul Sartre, a French philosopher, believed that owning something didn't have to come down to owning physical items. What does owning a very expensive item really mean to you? Having a talent or skill is unique, and unlike tangible items, talents can't be bought and can't be taken away from you. Having a special gift makes you the person you are and what you are known for. It's something you "own". With it, you're one–of–a–kind and it makes you feel good about yourself. Ownership of a special talent defines who you are and elevates your self–esteem. There are many interpretations on what it means to own something. Some people see owning things as a way to show off how much they're worth. Other people may see owning things as having a capability that other people do not have, like a special gift or skill that makes them unique. Owning something means being able to call it yours. • 11. Vaporwave Argumentative Essay Humanities Culminating Project Vaporwave is a microgenre of music started in the early 2010s focused on deconstructing elements of 90s culture, consumerism, and nostalgia. It's name is a pun on the term "vaporware," which refers to software advertised by companies in the 90s which turn out to be nonexistent and nothing but vapor. Vaporwave works remix pop songs, Muzak, advertisements, startup sounds, and other cultural material from the 80s and 90s, to produce hypnotic, almost dreamy music. Blank Banshee 1, the second self titled album from artist Blank Banshee, fuses both vaporwave and trap, a genre of dance music characterized by deep bass drums and rapid hi hats, and compares the technological utopia predicted by the 90s to our actual reality.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first track on the album, "B:/ Infinite Login" presents us with a representation of the internet: A building resembling a Japanese temple textured with the Google search bar and the Wikipedia logo. Nothing is inside except for a lone iPad, which we zoom into to find an abstract space of colorful cubes. Sites like Wikipedia, Facebook, and Google all tend to feature "clean," minimal layouts. Like a temple, this grants them a sort of sacredness, where it is impossible for anything to break this static template. The websites become authoritative and dictate the user experience. We cannot influence or modify them the same way we cannot change the structure of a building. And yet these virtual buildings are inescapable. Like The Trial, we are powerless as user of a website to truly understand anything about them. Attempting to contact a person who works at YouTube or Facebook for help is nearly impossible, just like how Josef is unable to find out any information about his own alleged crime. Additionally, it isn't just that websites alienate ourselves from them, but we've also isolated ourselves from each other. More and more aspects of the Internet are personalized, from Google's search results to one's Facebook timeline, almost everything is tailored to the individual user. • 12. Belongingness By Banana Yoshimoto A definition of belongingness is to have a sense of affinity with the same taste, thought, situation as oneself and put yourself there. Furthermore, it would be able to be supported from someone and supports someone. In other words, each person who has the above things would support each other. In addition, the definition of belongingness represented as family and kitchens in the book, Kitchen that was written by Banana Yoshimoto, and both family and kitchens had the important role to play in establishing the identity of Mikage. In this case, Mikage' family were grandmother, Yuichi, and Eriko, and kitchen was a place which creates energy to live. Both saved Mikage from lonely and established the identity of Mikage. Mikage's grandmother,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She needed a family that is holding similar sadness. Yuichi and Eriko gave the family because both also had similar sadness. Yuichi was sad the death of Mikage's grandmother as well as his mother's death. Eriko also had sorrow for the death of her/his wife, who was mother of Yuichi. In this book, her ex–boyfriend appeared. Mikage sometimes used a word "light" as a symbol of what she wants. If Yuichi and Eriko represent as gentle light, the ex–boyfriend would be bright light like the sun. He was also a relief for her and she still liked him, but she did not desire a bright light: she desired a gentle light. According to the book, Mikage said "When my grandmother died the other day, I was taken by surprise" (Yshimoto Banana. 04). The line is written as if it were someone else's affair. • 13. Shiloh Character Analysis "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken" (Oscar Wilde). In the enchanting story of Quiet Bunny by Lisa McCue, Quiet Bunny learns to find his voice through a series of trial and error. Finding one's own special uniqueness is a step toward finding oneself. There are many different ways to achieve personal enlightenment, including talking to trusted family and friends, not trying to mimic others, and being proud of oneself. In Heather Henson's novel Dream of Night, Shiloh finds her own personality with the help of a very special horse. Shiloh is a hardened foster child who meets an old and abused racehorse. Her relationship with the racehorse changes her demeanor and lets the other side of her speak up. While she is sassy and rude at the beginning of the book, by the end she is "grinning back. A little. Not too much, not yet..." (Henson, 207). She has found her true voice, the person she is meant to be by enlisting the help of a trusted friend. Other people can bring out the best in people and talk them through difficult times. Shiloh is also one step closer to true personal enlightenment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But on his way back to the clearing, Quiet Bunny jumps on a log and soon enough he is marching to the beat of his own drum. A wise old owl once told Quiet Bunny " You are a Quiet Bunny. Be whoooo you are and you will find your own bunny sound." (McCue, n.p.). Quiet Bunny realizes he is special and ceases to copy others. Scott further explores this link through the two most prominent characters, Tally Youngblood and her friend Shay. Tally Youngblood cannot wait to turn sixteen and get the operation that will turn her from an ugly into a pretty, where she can move into Pretty Town and worry only about having fun. However, her friend Shay decides she would rather stay ugly and runs away before she gets the operation herself. The authorities – known as Specials and led by Dr. Cable – tell Tally that she can either find Shay and bring her back or stay ugly forever. Initially choosing to bring Shay in, Tally realizes that she was sent not just to find Shay, but an entire settlement of people who decided to stay ugly, dubbed the Smoke. It is there that she also learns about the lesions, and armed with this knowledge decides to turn her back on her old dreams of turning pretty. • 17. Character Analysis Of Tally's 'Uglies' Beautifully Asleep; Hideously Awake As adolescents progress toward adulthood, a drastic reformation of both mental affect and moral worldview is commonly experienced. Scott Westerfeld–in his novel Uglies–illustrates this commonality of human experience through that of Tally Youngblood, his societally divergent protagonist. The pivotal moments that signify her gradual, yet distinct moral development are clearly defined in specific segments of text. Moreover, the actual structure of the novel concretely separates the definitive changes in Tally's moral worldview. It is through these phases that the Uglies protagonist's character develops from being a slave to society's imposed norms, to a questioning skeptic, and finally to a self–actualized individual with sound motives and personal passions. In "Pretty" society, a clearly defined hierarchy exists between "Littlies", "Uglies", "New Pretties", "Middle Pretties", and "Late Pretties". At age 16, each "Ugly" member of society undergoes an appearance altering operation to become "Pretty" on the pretense of social homogeneity. Tally begins her story as a stereotypically trouble–making Ugly, who–apart from "tricks"–adheres to her society's laws and norms. On one particular excursion–a trick in which she infiltrates New Pretty Town–Tally makes contact with Peris, an adolescent love interest that turned Pretty before her. Their dynamic exemplifies Tally's societally conditioned sense of inferiority, clearly represented by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. The Uglie Critical Analysis According to Merriam–Webster dictionary, the word realization is defined as, "an act of becoming fully aware of something as a fact." Being able to realize the ultimate desires and goals in life is apart of each of the texts. In the book The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, the story shows characters realizing objectives through point of view when Tally Youngbloodis faced with the truth about getting an operation to become pretty. Likewise, in "The Third and Final Continent" by Jhumpa Lahiri, the message of realization is developed through symbolism of the narrator's experience in a new world. The theme as shown in "The Art of Resilience" by Hara Estroff Marano is expressed through conflict. The use of point of view, symbolism and conflict create the theme, a person must become self–aware to realize their goals, in the texts The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, "The Third and Final Continent" by Jhumpa Lahiri, and "The Art of Resilience" by Hara Estroff Marano. In The Uglies, the lesson of becoming self–aware is communicated through the main character, Tally Youngblood's, point of view. At first, Tally Youngblood longs to receive an operation to turn herself pretty after being viewed as ugly most of her life. "Uglies' slang is...ugly. It's all about giving people nicknames that highlights their ugliness–Skinny, Squint," the difference between Uglies' use of naming and Jane Eyre's use of naming is that in Uglies the young adults impress upon each other these oppressive names rather than a more privileged individual bestowing the names, which lower their own self esteems(Wilkinson 10). This tactic of encouraging self–depreciating names is a practice which internalizes the need in the young citizens to live for the day in which they turn sixteen and can be "reprieved" of their undesirable traits, their skinny frames and squinty eyes. • 32. Stereotypes In Uglies By Scott Westerfeld The image of a person is often something that gets judged very quickly in society. People often see others and instantly think of something about that person. Men, women and children are all outcast for many different reasons. Society judges people for traits including, skin colour, gender, hair color, and body type. The media and society constantly make people feel bad about the way they look. In Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld, the main theme is about finding one's identity in a world that already has one made up for them. Despite this theme, the characters in the novel do not strive to overcome society's stereotypes. The pretties, specials and the uglies do not try to break out of society's ways and find their own identities. After the operations, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are scared of the government and what might happen, so they run away without trying to interfere with what the operation is doing to innocent people. In addition to this, the specials also act like robots. In the novel the specials keep repeating one line to the uglies, they say '"we don't want to hurt you. But we will if we have to." This line shows how the specials have very little emotions and feelings. They have a mission and they will do anything to achieve it. They do not look for anything to change and if it were up to them nothing ever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. What Is The Theme Of The Uglies The Uglies Everything is not always as fantastic as it seems. The novel The Uglies frequently displays that not everything that looks amazing is amazing. The people in The Uglies all have cosmetic surgery to look biologically beautiful. Some of the citizens rebel and live in a city that they call "The Smoke". They live there because they refuse to be turned pretty. The theme of TheUglies is something that looks good but may not necessarily be good; this is shown in the book because Tally wanted to be turned pretty but she learned that the surgery could affect her brain in a negative way so she ran away. Society today has outrageous views on beauty. The culture believes everyone should have perfect hair and looks etcetera. Part of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 34. The At The Atlantic Eyrie Lodge This past season, 2016, at The Atlantic Eyrie Lodge it was an exceptional year! Profitability this past season was above all the last eight years, bringing in profits of over 1.25 million dollars. With this exceptional staff returning for the 2017 season, we feel profits of 1.5 million for the 2017 season is within reach. Our goal for the 2017 season will be to average one "Full House" every week we are open for the season, for a total of 26 nights of having a "Full House". To help achieve this goal we will be targeting the middle–class families and people who travel with their pets. We will have a $50,000 marketing budget for the 2017 season and this plan will outline the areas the funds will be spent, how they will be spent and who we will be marketing too. Some of the funds will be used to expand our marketing potential and some will be used to market that potential. Some funds will be used in new ways while others will be expanding older marketing elements that are already in play. • 36. Sweetheart Dance Research Paper This paper is a reflection of my volunteering experience with The Arc of Tricitie's February Sweetheart Dance. The dance was held on February 20, 2017 from 4 P.M. until 9 P.M. Prior to volunteering for this event or taking the practice with persons with special needs class I did not have much experience with the special needs population. The most interaction I had had with the special needs population was in high school, but it was not on a regular basis. Many of my thoughts and feelings were changed after volunteering for the Sweetheart Dance. I was nervous and worried about the event, simply because I did not know what to expect. Most of what is depicted on social media and television is negative, or steered toward creating a sense of hopelessness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The photo booth was a fun and well organized activity. The people taking pictures used the photo booth props accordingly and made it fun. The dancing was fun, most everyone participated and were very outgoing. The friendliness of everyone made this volunteer project a great experience. When clean up time came around I was so happy and surprised to see how many people came together to get the party cleaned up. Some individuals who helped take down decorations were bringing the decorations to me faster than I could put them away. They also helped with taking the decoration to the cars as ... Tough Guy English Track Group C Jin YU Tough Guy Case Study Read through the article, we know that Jeremy Frazer, an associate at the investment bank called Hudson Smith Gordon, was confronted with a challenge. He knew that investment bank is such competitive and cruel field so that he would meet and work with people with different personalities: aggressive, ambitious, and arrogant. He never thought that one day he have to deal with person like Chip Mazey, the vice president of the company, who was known his poor personal skills. For Chip Mazey's bad manners, Jeremy Frazer's excitement was diminished quickly during their first meet. Afterwards, he knew that many peers had experienced Mazey's disrespectful behavior. Nevertheless no one had ever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Teamwork and communication are two of the core keys to construct an effective and harmonious atmosphere yet Mazey's nitpicking behavior and one–way communicating skill would definitely ruin the balance. No doubt that Mazey is an aggressive communicator who always tries to manipulate people to do what he wants. One of the representative examples is that when Frazer first met Mazey he was shocked by Mazey's outrageous behavior of ordering him to stand "right here" and pointing a spot in front of his desk. By doing so at their first time meet, Mazey wanted to show that "this is my place and all of you should listen to me". In terms of Fenster's experience, which she was derogated and insulted directly by Mazey for her unqualified assignment. We can assume Mazey has his own high standard and excessively strict to his subordinates, nevertheless he was unable to express his own opinions and attitudes to the peers may accounted for why he was so easily irritated to some extent. What's worse, he is a changeable person that you will never know what he will do next. He may become enraged abruptly at the meeting but apologize to you in the next second; he may request you get back to work immediately during your vacation; he may ring you up in the midnight when you fall asleep. He is an absolutely workaholic, but as a leader his duty is to unite and to manage people. It seemed he was doing the opposite. There are several options for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Personal Statement: Working With Persons With Special Needs Working with Persons with Special Needs Statement I am committed to working with all persons of diverse backgrounds, disabilities and other special needs. My life experiences have shown me how to be a better person and teacher for my students. I know first hand how differences can be perceived as an obstacle or disability. • 39. Discrimination Based On Physical Appearance Discrimination based on physical appearance, or lookism, has had a heavy impact throughout history. For example, it is a common belief that John F. Kennedy's more favorable looks were a contributing factor in his 1960 presidential win against Richard Nixon. To a lot of people, it may appear that beautiful people have an unfair advantage in life. As a result of this belief, a world where becoming beautiful is a rite of passage for all people seems to have an almost utopia–like quality, but that is not the case in the dystopian novel Specials by Scott Westerfeld. This book is an excellent reading choice to open the eyes of people who are under the false impression that physical attractiveness makes a person superior, and for those who ... Tally discovers one of these towns and makes an observation: "Without the lesions making everyone agreeable, society was left rolling in a constant battle of words, images, and ideas." (Specials 229). Despite the government's attempts to keep their citizens controlled, the people's conflicting nature prevails. Although the special surgery's goal is to make people perfect, Tally still walks away from it with some major character flaws, one being how conceited she becomes. Being special means she belongs to an elite group of people that are above the average citizen. This gives her feelings of entitlement and warps her view of other people. Feelings of superiority effect not only Tally, but her friends as well. Zane, her former boyfriend, falls prey to Tally's new–gained shallowness. Pity and disgust replace her love for this crippled pretty. Even his touch repulses her, making her think to herself, "She'd kissed him, let herself be touched by him – someone unspecial and barely average." (166). Also affected is Tally 's best friend Shay, who cannot stand Tally 's new behavior. Shay becomes so angry with Tally that tells her, "You don 't think you 're better than everyone else, just that you 're the center of the universe." (293) Tally's weakness destroyed her romantic relationship with Zane and broke up her friendship with Shay. Fortunately, Tally recognizes the weakness within herself.
