Vocabulary Focus: General activities that animals can or can’t do.
Recycled Language: Animals: “What’s this?”; plurals (lions, elephants) and
adjectives (hot, wet…)
ACTIVATION (5 minutes)
The teacher will show the students different shapes of animals and they will have
to guess which animal it is. The teacher will ask “What animal is this one?” and
they will have to answer “It’s a/ an…”
COMPREHENSION AND CLARIFICATION (10 minutes)
The teacher will show the students the following dialogue and she will elicit the
meaning of the words CAN and CAN’T from the context:
Hello, Lion! Can you
crawl?
Yes, I CAN. Can you
run?
Yes, I CAN. Can you
fly?
No, I CAN’T. Can you
hide?
No, I CAN’T. Ok, bye
