1. Adverbs
• Lively, friendly, silly have no adverb form so we say
someone acted in a lively way/manner.
• Add –ly to the adjective (e.g nervously). This also
applies to adjectives ending in –l. (e.g. (usually) or –e
(extremely).
• However, if the adjective ends in a consonant + le, then
omit the final –e and add –LY (e.g. regrettably).
• Sole – solely regrettable – regrettably.
