S ALIENT F EATURES OF WEB BASED LMS SEPL-LMS ( W eb B ased L earning M anagement S ystem for Online Learning by Students) Web-based Learning Management System (LMS) on the platform of window is a step towards realising the vision of technology enhanced learning in Engineering Education & Training. It focuses on a set of actions in high technology areas, chosen for their strategic relevance to the modernisation of education and training system.
Web-based Learning Management System (LMS) facilitates Colleges, Organizations, Institutions or Individuals to have learning at any Time, Anywhere as per convenience. LMS application is server based, & Software is installed on Server which is connected to Clients through Intranet/Internet. LMS has a built in admin facility to create various users & authorization with password & Login facility. LMS –Server application is installed on the PC-server of the Local Area Network of Colleges / Institutes. PC-server application contains all the information and rights such as providing path to the .EXE files, assigning username and password to user, inserting subjects and Departments Name etc.
LMS- Client is installed on the PC- Clients. PC- Client can access the Executive files of LR installed on the PC-server. (Installation procedure is defined in Manual supplied with the Software Package) User Clients are provided with username & password with which they can access the subjects as per the authorizations given by the LMS administrator and can also view all the available subjects and departments. Database used for the application is SQL, you can edit, save, delete, update on database using Server. All information of the faculty, students, departments and related subject can be saved through Server.
The SEPL-Student On Line System is a Web-based student information system which contains the information about academic records, attendance record & related information of each & every students which will be available on the web site of the institution & the parents can log on to the site & access the information about his ward. We assist Institutions to create Center of Excellence by Digitizing Libraries through Web Based LMS for the Vibrant Knowledge Based Innovative eLearning Study Centers in colleges .
S ALIENT F EATURES OF C AMPUS O NLINE I NFORMATION S YSTEM It would be delight of the modern day educator, if one can get to know everything needed at a click of a button and from anywhere, anytime. Right from the information regarding timetable of a division or the attendance of a particular class or the list of library books etc. With campus online every information is available whenever you need it and more importantly information relevant to the students and their parents can also be accessed online by them. It is a part of online campus series which has seven products each exclusively designed to cater to the specified needs of Indian Education Institutions varying from Day Schools, Residential Schools, Engineering, Management, Science and other quality needs of professional colleges.
Most software available in the market cater to either library or accounts or attendance separately, campus online is the only software which not only encompasses all the functional areas of the institution but also provides a vital information channel between students, Parents, Teachers and the Management. All in all a total campus management tools, which introduces effectiveness and quality education standards compatible to best globally. Data input/access method is created in the most user-friendly manner so that the entire system can be implemented with the minimal change in the existing setup.
Console/ Features: Student Register : The system has inbuilt data manager which stores and archives all the details of the students throughout the tenure of his/her studies in the institution. Transfer of data when the semester change is a key part in this section. General information /communication mailers/ contact details/ individual Performances/fees tracking etc. are facilitated through this system. ADVANTAGE : Report generation of an individual student/ class/ semester at a click of a button Student Attendance : Manages the total attendance of the students day wise and generates reports in any selected range of dates required by the college Viz. Class wise, subjectwise, percentage wise etc. The system can also generate list With the provision of auto mailers to parents etc. ADVANTAGE : Avoid man hours required for the calculation of the same and Generates precision reports at any given point of time
News and Events : it servers as a window to the outside world. it carries the latest updates or news that can be any relevance to the students . If the news is too large to flow in the box then the administrator can even give the site address where the user can get the full news. The news cannot be released without the approval of the administrator. ADVANTAGE : It increases student’s awareness and helps mould his personality College Magazine : One of the powerful tools in the system, which provides magazine facility through out the academic year. Options are given to the students, teachers and parents to share their views /talents through college magazine. ADVANTAGE : Multiple issues of college magazine in a year with an option for the students to share views/talents on an every day basis of the academic year and more importantly save huge printing cost.
Result Display : The system can generate customized mark list and individual mark sheets for the students just by inputting the subject marks. Its preprogrammed modules can take care tedious grace marks calculations etc. the system is capable of displaying the generated marks to parents and Students through internet, it also acts as an archiving unit here the reports can be generated even after year. ADVANTAGE : Save time and money and more over provides accuracy for the College. It also provides crucial feedbacks of parental inputs, has a built-in archival facility. Teacher Register : The system has an inbuilt data manager, which stores and archives all the details of the teachers through out his/her tenure in the institution. General information/Communication mailers/ contact details/ individual Performance/etc. is facilitated through this system. ADVANTAGE : Report generation of an individual faculty at the click of button.
Report Center : The report generation center in the system enables the college to generate reports as per the college requirements. It has been designed understanding the university norms/requirements and other important functions of the college. ADVANTAGE : Saves the manual search and calculation time and generates the Required report critical for the decision making process of an institution.

Editor's Notes

  1. Albert Einstein – in between cracking Brown’s Molecular movement and extending Planck’s quantum theory 1915 saw his General Theory of Relativity published – in between all this he referenced computers as requiring people to really achieve a fundamental shift in terms of impact I have always argued that computers are no more than a catalyst – a very powerful catalyst – but nonetheless if we do not ensure that the other ingredients are right – and crucially our teacher’s understanding of how to maximise the transformational potential of these new technologies, - then we waste the potential. If the non-believers in the room concerning the role of ICT in education suspend their beliefs for a few moments – let us investigate this statement

  3. The slide highlights some of the ways in which e-learning can make a contribution to this area of education. It shows how, for each type of strategic objective, there are particular ways in which different e-learning capabilities can be exploited. This is already happening, through a range of current projects and initiatives, such as those illustrated here. The aim of the e-learning strategy is to unify these initiatives, to make sure they continue beyond the time and place of the project, and to make sure we use the lessons learned across all the education sectors. The slide is animated by section, from the top down.
