3. Meaning of Modesty in Islam
Being aware of the what is right and what is wrong
and refraining from it due to fear of shame.
Being modest in from of parent would be to talk
politely etc.
Being modest in front of teacher would be to have
respect while gaining knowledge.
Being modest on the street is to walk in an orderly
fashion with appropriate clothing
Being modest in front of friends would be not mention
about family problems or about sister.
Being modest in general is to keep your dignity and
respect without any one pointing fingers.
Being modest in front of Allah is to guard your brain
and your stomach from Haram things.
4. Humayd says the below words have been
passed down from Prophets to Prophets
“If you have no shame, do what you
want”. (Bukhari)
This is like a threat in which Prophet is
saying “If you have no shame then do
what you want, for Allah will pay back”.
like Allah says in
the Quran “Do what
you like, he sees
what you do”.
Or Prophet say
“Whoever sells
wine, let him be the
butcher of pigs
This is to inform us
that a person who
has no shame will
do whatever he
wishes.
As a person who
has no shame will
cause himself to
fall into every
indecent behaviour.
5. Having shame in your self is
important in Islam
Salman Al Farsi says, “When Allah intends a
destruction of a salve. He strips him off shame.
Ibn Abbass says Shame and Iman a single plait
of rope, if one is removed so it the other.
Prophet was more shy and modest then a virgin
girl in her veil
6. Encouraged to have Haya
(Shame)
Imran Bin Husayn says the Prophet said
“Modesty only produces good”. (Bukhari)
Prophet said to Al-Ashajj al Asri, “You have two
characteristics that Allah love, He asked, “What
are they?” Prophet replied “Calmness and
Modesty”. (Nasai)
Modesty stops a person from committing bad
acts.
7. Benefits of being modest

acts.
Brings Taqwa, as the Umar said whoever shows

that people may say that you are pious.
This is shaytans trick.
In good actions there is no modesty.
